Just finished binge reading In This Life, Fired & Nailed. LOVED all three books.
Jason and Audrey are a project and a half but well worth the effort. Audrey has been trying to remake the bad girl image that still plagues her. A wild child in teen years, she has been living with the consequences of her misdeeds even with all her steps to change. She has been trying to channel all her energy into her work and its allowed her to succeed in that arena aside from one little misstep… Jason Roma. Jason was a colleague that shouldn’t have become more until flirtation become a dalliance, a dalliance became a fling, and a fling became something that could throw all her hard work in the garbage. She put a stop to it, but not with getting a little frosty with him. Now they are being thrown together on a project and that means close proximity and he seems determined to be as difficult and enticing as he ever was. Looks like she might just have to find a new way to manage this project!
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.
Nailed , I loved a great enemies to lovers story and Cora Nailed it !
Audrey is a strong, intelligent making her way in the world of construction as a project manager. She has to prove herself everyday to keep up in this world. Men are either hitting on her or looking down on her for her brain and great ideas .
Jason is a playboy he always was looking for a good time until he is now working again with Audrey . They had a past , friends with benefits but Audrey thought it best to move on and work on her career. Well here they are working side by side and Jason thinks that Audrey is the one that got away and his playboy days are numbered . They had a fabulous witty banter but as the story progressed we began to see a softer side of our playboy!
Great Read !

Loved loved loved Jason and Audrey.
I’m a big fan of Cora Brent and I enjoyed Nailed even more than Fired. Jason was an amazing guy and I really liked Audrey’s backstory and how she overcame her past, despite all the obstacles. Great ending and I loved seeing what Dom and Melanie from Fired were up to.
I finished this book in one day. I loved these two characters. Audrey and Jason were made for each other. I laughed and cried as I read their story. This is one of the best second chance stories that I have read. I normally don’t care for the because they have too much baggage in the story, but this one was great. You can’t help but try to guess what will happen next with these two. When you add in the families of both you can’t help but thing you are reading about two of your friends. I foresee a reread soon.
I absolutely LOVED Nailed!!!
Audrey and Jason have been rivals almost since they started working together. No one they work with knows about the brief fling that they had in the past. Everything about their interactions is gold: funny, challenging, full of fire and explosive passion, and downright entertaining.
From the second I started this book, I was sucked in and couldn’t put it down. After meeting Jason in Fired, I was really excited to learn more about the main behind the charm and sass and he certainly did not disappoint. He’s certainly a charmer but he’s also a champion and a true romantic. Audrey is driven and smart and one of the strongest heroines I’ve ever had the pleasure to read. I really hope there’s more to this series because I don’t want to say goodbye to these characters yet!!!
Another amazing and solid read by Cora Brent. A great enemies too lovers story. Loved the banter between Jason and Audrey, as well as their off the charts chemistry. This story has depth and a great storyline and you won’t want to put it down.
Title: Nailed
Author: Cora Brent
Publication Date: 3/12/18
**RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW**
This is book two in Cora Brent’s Worked Up Series. It follows co-workers Audrey and Jason. We met Jason Roma in book One. These two work in the same construction firm and are both damaged emotionally. They may not understand it but that past damage is what draws them to the other.
Honestly, the book started slowly. But, this book is a slow burn. Yes there is passion and heat and steamy love scenes, but that is not what this book is about. If I tell you what the book is about I will be throwing out a huge spoiler. Just remember: stop and smell the roses.
Brent brings to life characters who struggle with real world problems. It is easy to relate to the characters as well as get annoyed with them. Primarily written from Audrey’s POV it did leave me wondering about Jason’s thoughts sometimes. Overall a delightful read. As I said, a slow burn but with a good moral to the story.
This is a really great story! Wonderfully written with some pretty amazing characters in Jason and Audrey. Both are hardworking career driven people but Audrey has kicked it up a notch while trying to drive away old demons. Neither is looking for a relationship yet they can’t deny the spark that’s been burning over the last six years. When they get paired up to oversee a large project, spending a ton of time together, has that spark growing to a full burn. As feelings begin to grow, Jason isn’t sure he’ll ever get Audrey to see there is more to life than work but he’s determined to try. When tragedy strikes everything becomes crystal clear for both of them.
A great story with a nice amount of steam and little angst made this a very entertaining book. I highly recommend this one.
This is a well written, entertaining read. An enemies to lovers romance that focuses on Audrey and Jason. These two are complex characters, they both have painful pasts and have history together. I must be honest and say I found it very difficult to connect with Audrey. To me she seemed cold and unlikable. As her backstory is revealed, it becomes somewhat understandable, but I never really could like her. Jason was sexy, but also a bit of a jerk to start. He did grow on me as the story unfolded. It was of course great to revisit Dominic and Melanie (from Fired, book #1). Audrey’s brother I thought was a great character and would love to see him get his own story. Does contain quite a bit of drama, a bit of steaminess and some touching moments, but in the end this was a slow read for me that never gave me the connection I look forward to from a really great read.
An adorable enemies to lovers story, Nailed hits just right! With a perfect balance of sweet, heat, humor, and real emotion Cora Brent delivers a book that you can’t put down with this one! Something I love about Cora’s writing is the level of depth she has with all her characters. Jason and Audrey aren’t two dimensional cookie cutter people, they’re real, they’ve got flaws, but most of all they got so much love.
Audrey truly surprised me by how complex she was. At first she seemed to just be a workaholic straight laced business woman, but as their story unfolds I quickly learned there’s much, much more to her than meets the eye. Strong, resilient, and a woman with a huge heart I admired so much about her. Jason was very similar in being more than I’d expected. Beyond being insanely sexy, he too was a sweetheart I couldn’t help but adore.
The gradual growth from enemies to a couple that is now one of my favorites was magnificent. Reading this I couldn’t help but cheer for these two wonderful characters to get the happily ever after they deserved.
