I’ve read the series and I truly think they belong in YA.
Fun
it was about indian tribes and thier history
I liked the basics of the plot, and the writing style, for the most part. However, almost every personal interaction between the main character and others was at least initially bitter and mean on both sides; after awhile it became grindingly tedious. The relationship between her and her ex-husband was awkwardly done. There were hard feelings from the divorce, but it didn’t stop them from leaping into bed immediately and consistently thereafter. Most of the character interactions were uncomfortable, and it was a continual distraction from the plot.
It was just ok. Not really into the paranormal thing.
It was a decent story line, and the writing was pretty good.
It was just ok for me.
It started out REALLY slow and did not think I could possibly enjoy it, so quit reading.
Mystic Falls has a charming setting and characters, plus entertaining mystery. The representation of Northwest Native People’s culture may or may not be authentic, but the book is a fun read.
Loved this book from the title to the story. Who wouldn’t want to live in this delightful community. Suspense, danger, flirtation, and a woman standing up for herself, loved it!
I hoped to like it, but it is less compelling that I wanted. Perhaps I should read another in the series before i decide.
Nicely done. Waiting to read more..hoping it’s a series.
Gemma has returned to Coyote Wells, the town where she’d grown up. She gave up an unrewarding corporate legal career in order to run the chocolate shop after her grandmother’s death. But Gemma’s past is right in town waiting for her – including Lando Bonner, the man she’d been married to for a year at age eighteen. The one big flaw in this book was too many unfinished side plots such as Gemma’s conflict with her hateful mother, Gemma’s growing awareness of her own psychic strength, getting to know the spirits at Mystic Falls, Gemma’s parentage, and Gemma’s need to mend fences with Leia and Luke, Lando’s siblings. The central plot focuses on Police Chief Lando’s search for two missing women as well as Gemma’s murdered grandmother. All in all the book was a fair read if a little too filled with busy irrelevant details.
Loved the characters
Didn’t care for this one. Predictable story line. Psychic subplot was boring and unbelievable.
Interesting would read again
Did not like it.
A delightful read. When reading before dropping off to sleep, get to bed early. You will be reading a while.
quite a ways out into Native American mysticism, Interesting characters and backstory.
