An “impressive” tale of psychic power, Native American mysticism, and an ancient evil in Alabama, from the New York Times–bestselling author of Swan Song (Associated Press). Born and raised in rural Alabama, Billy Creekmore was destined to be a psychic. His mother, a Choctaw Indian schooled in her tribe’s ancient mysticism, understands the permeable barrier between life and death—and can cross … between life and death—and can cross it. She taught the power to Billy and now he helps the dead rest in peace.
Wayne Falconer, son of one of the most fervent tent evangelists in the South, travels the country serving his father’s healing ministry. Using his unique powers to cure the flock, Little Wayne is on his way to becoming one of the popular and successful miracle workers in the country. He helps the living survive.
Billy and Wayne share more than a gift. They share a dream—and a common enemy. They are on separate journeys, mystery walks that will lead them toward a crossroad where the evil of their dreams has taken shape. One of them will reject the dark. The other will be consumed by it. But neither imagined just how monstrous and far-reaching the dark was, or that mankind’s fate would rest in their hands during an epic showdown of good versus evil.
From the author of Gone South, Boy’s Life, and the Matthew Corbett series, a master of suspense who has won the World Fantasy and Bram Stoker Awards, Mystery Walk offers “creepy, subtle touches throughout [and] splendid Southern-town atmosphere” (Kirkus Reviews).

Another incredible tale from the master of amazing characters!
A good old-fashioned 1980’s Horror novel. Chunky in size, but just the right length and I was never bored or disinterested. Great characters, interesting plot, good versus evil, and plenty of spooky action. I really liked this one.
This was the first Robert McCammon book I ever read and it still remains a favorite. Wonderful story!
I love this book. Always have, always will. Doesn’t matter how many times I read it, in what format, or what’s going on in my life. McCammon evolved as a writer with this book, and I suppose his own Mystery Walk as a writer took a turn. His first four books are good old horror novels, but this one staked his claim to a new kind of horror novel …
This book had short stories and the last one was a novella. Original stories. I enjoyed all of them.
I very much enjoy the characters and the story. Great read
Good author, interesting book but didn’t have a satisfying conclusion. I loved his other book Gone South better.
Very scary. Well written. Still hard to read about such violence and hatred. Even though this is a supernatural fictional, human aggression towards each other is not a favorite reading topic for me.
i like mc camerons work i have read all his books
Mystery Walk is a great read!
Very king-esque. The first book I’ve read by the author. Well executed – but seemed to fall just a bit short. So many tent poles were predictable.
It was just ok. I finished it but i could have put it down. It wasn’t bad, it just wasnt compelling.
I loved this book and this author. I’ve read many of his books and once again, I was not disappointed. Couldn’t put this one down!
Not my favorite RM books, but was good. I gave it about 3.5 stars
This book kept me at the edge of my seat. You cared about the main character and what happened to him.
McCammon always delivers well- fleshed characters and page turning reads!
A very well written book! This author is quickly becoming one of my favorites. He writes compelling stories, stories that are original and surprising. I highly recommend it!
Good story, well written.
I have read many of his books, have enjoyed all of them and this book is no different. This book is hard to put down!
I LOVE ALL OF THIS AUTHOR’S BOOKS. GREAT STORYLINE AND LIKEABLE CHARACTERS. SHOWS THE DANGERS OF RELIGIOUS FANATACISM.
