I liked the author’s writing in MY YEAR WITH ELEANOR and how she applied so many of Eleanor Roosevelt’s bon mots to her own life.
Noelle Hancock was not only courageous in setting such high daily goals for herself, she was also brave to share her journey with us. Grateful for the glimpses of Eleanor Roosevelt’s wisdom. Original, poignant, and hilarious, in turn, I was very moved by this book and plan to share it as gifts.
I enjoyed this book so much that I emailed the author. There were a couple of things that I found original and interesting about this book. I absolutely loved the quotes that were cited throughout the book. They were coupled with an experience that the author went through to enhance her lifestyle. The author wrote in way that made the reader …
Loved it!
OK – I admit, before I started this book, I somehow thought that it was set during Eleanor Roosevelt’s lifetime. Apparently my brain registered the title but not the description! So I was a little bit confused when I started reading it and within the first page, it mentioned a cell phone and a website.
It turns out that it was an enjoyable – and …
I’m a huge Eleanor Roosevelt fan, saying that doesn’t even cover how much I enjoyed this novel. Mingling true facts
Light fun reading
Reflective. Good kick in the but to try something new everyday
Fun read. Entertaining and inspirational.
What a totally relateable book. Enjoyed all the Eleanor quotes and tidbits. Easy breezy read.
3 1/2 *s. A bit overblown and self-important, but good to know that those of us gripped by fear can make a change. Most of us can’t take time off work to do it, though. Ojala!
Page turner and very inspirational!
Loved loved this book …. a true recounting of the author’s journey conquering her paralyzing fears through Eleanor Roosevelt’s inspirational character building quotes. There is a lot of self help in these pages to benefit everyone. And it’s funny and witty and easy to absorb.
This was an easy read, interesting book. No new facts were revealed to me, but I did enjoy the quotes and other information about Eleanor Roosevelt. This was an enjoyable book.
Clever. Good to read entertaining non-fiction. We could all do with stepping outside our comfort zone.
Easy read, but no depth. On the same track as Julie, Julia. If you can read only one, Julie, Julia is a much better read.
Interesting look at life when one woman tried to follow Eleanor advices to do something each day that scares you.
I thought this was a wonderful book.
interesting but did not like the language and the low quality of ‘humor’ at the end
I really enjoyed this book. It reminded me to stretch out of your comfort zone to really grow as a person.
