Texting the wrong number has never felt so right. It started with a not-so-innocent text that I’d meant to send to the guy I was casually dating. Things had been moving slowly, and I’d decided it was time to spice things up.Me: I need you to come over. I want to feel you inside me.Him: Who is this?Me: Indy. Who’s this?Him: Wrong number.Me: Oh crap. I’m sorry.Him: I’m not. What’s your address? Now, … this?
Him: Wrong number.
Me: Oh crap. I’m sorry.
Him: I’m not. What’s your address?
Now, I have to decide whether I want to block him and text the guy I meant to in the first place. Or do something outrageously bold and tell him to come over.
Me: . . .

This was my first book by this author and definitely will not be my last. I loved Indy and Cal, they were fun, sexy, their chemistry was more than hot and will melt your kindle. Indy has hit a dry spell and joined a dating app to meet someone, but the guy she met won’t give her his number and when he finally does, well, lets just say it’s the wrong number. Oh how a wrong number could turn out to be so perfect. Some sexy, dirty texts to the number she was given, finding out he’s not who she thought he was, but was intrigued by his responses. When these two meet, it’s a one time thing, nothing more, but when he rocks her world all she thinks about is him. Little does she know that he’s going to be a big part of her life in the near future. OMG I could keep going, but I don’t want to spoil this for anyone. Indy and Cal are explosive and you will not be disappointed! I received a copy of this book.
Loved the characters. Loved the story line. Great read. Thank you.
Wrong number. Right guy.
Indie is dating using an online app. When a few dates leads to exchanging numbers she never thought she’d be inviting a stranger over. Now the guy, Cal turns out to be closer to her day to day life than she expects.
This is a fun office romance with heated scenes. What starts as a one night stand turns into more than a scandal.
OMG!! This book will hook you from the start!! And it just keeps getting better. The main characters are not only funny but sexy as hell! You just have to get this book and you won’t regret it!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
I really loved this story. Another new to me author! I loved the story line, the characters. This was a sweet and sexy read. By saying to much it could spoil the story for readers. Wrong Number could turn out to be the right guy. Cal is awesome and brings the heat, Indie is great as well. Indie is on a dating app kinda seeing a guy and asks for the number. As you can see from the title he didn’t give her the right one. Great writing from this author I was pulled in from the beginning.
After a few drinks Indy is convinced by her best friend to contact the guy she has been messaging through a dating app and get his number however the only problem is that it isn’t the right number but it might just be the best mistake she ever made.
Cal is intrigued by the sexy texts he is getting from a stranger which leads to a steamy evening, but they are both in for a surprise when he turns out to be her new boss. Let the fun begin!
Their journey is filled with heat, humor and some twists you don’t see coming.
This story has such a fun and interesting plot! I love the chemistry that Indy and Cal have! The angst that they experience throughout the story is so well done! There is a constant ebb and flow that keeps you wrapped up in the story til the very end. If you haven’t read this story yet you absolutely should!
You know you are reading a fantastic book when you seem to finish it in a blink of an eye. From the very first page this writing duo had me hooked on Indy & Cal’s story.
I love a good office romance, and this one was not only exceptional but extremely modern with the whole “wrong number” storyline.
It was also refreshing to read no major conflicts in the story. Don’t get me wrong I do enjoy that part in romance books, but to read one every now and then without it was awesome.
Fantastically written as always and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next wonderful story.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
Such a fun, sexy and adorable read!! I thoroughly enjoyed the entire ride of Indy and Cal so much that it left me wanting more. A pleasure to read especially if you are looking to make your day uplifting. R.L. Kenderson allowed me to laugh, fall in love with love and forget anything negative in my own life for a few hours. Wrong Number made me wanted to take more risks for the right reasons.
This was my first book by this author and I think I’ll definitely be reading more. This was a light, easy to read, office romance with a few hurdles in their relationship. Plus some steamy scenes!
I easily liked both of the main characters, along with Indy’s best friend. I thought the plot flowed nicely and held my interest. My only real issue with it came at the end when I felt like the main problem was never properly resolved/dealt with. I wish something more would have happened there.
The writing duo of R. L. Kenderson (Renae and Lara) is quickly becoming a go-to for me! They specialize in “sometimes contemporary, sometimes paranormal, always steamy” and boy do they deliver with the steamy. Grab your afternoon cocktail and let’s chat about R. L. Kenderson’s latest standalone – Wrong Number (note: this book is so steamy that you will want a cocktail).
Imagine if you will that you met a guy through a dating app, have gone out a couple of times, and you are ready to exchange numbers. You need to end your dry spell and want to the next level so you send him a “flirty” text only to find out that he gave you the wrong number. OMGOODNESS! How mortifying! Right? Except, the guy you texted seems ready to help you end your dry spell and based on the picture he sent, he’s hot. Maybe he’s not a serial killer. Maybe your dry spell as gone on for a really long time and you’re desperate. Did I mention that he’s hot? May I introduce to you the story of how Indy and Cal met and hooked up?
R. L. Kenderson has written a hilarious story. I’m not sure if it is supposed to be a romantic comedy but it sure was for me! It was also a book that I read until 4 AM because I could not put it down. Believe me, I tried to put it down but Indy and Cal would get into something and I never found a good place to stop until the end and even then, I wanted another couple of hundred pages of their adventures. In case you can’t tell, I loved this book and think that you will too. My rating for Wrong Number by R. L. Kenderson….5 out of 5 propellors!
Great way for a Wrong Number to end up being the Right Guy!
I have read many books by R.L. Kenderson which I love their Forbidden series. I am very picky on my contemporary romance. Even though there was some things that annoyed me, I enjoyed this one. So, beware, since I am going to explain why I gave this 4 stars and what annoyed me…these may have spoilers. But don’t let that deter you from getting a idea on why this book is or isn’t for you.
So this book starts off steamy. Indy dated an online guy but he refused to give her his digits. Leslie (Indy’s BFF) helps or really takes the phone and messages for Indy, to get some digits and move this relationship forward. But, as you can guess, online guy gives Indy a wrong number. After a steamy text back and forth, let just say Indy gets to meet Mr. Wrong Number and it was a hot weekend.
Forward to Monday at work, Indy meets the new boss, Cal, her Mr. Wrong Number. Between some up and downs, these two start a relationship while trying to hide it from their co-workers. Cal character takes some great growth moments. Indy’s immediate supervisor Patrick isn’t a great person but since Patrick has family connections to the board of directions, he gets a free pass to his egoist behavior. Cal noticed Patrick favoring men to lead projects over women, and other moments of Patrick’s racist comments/behavior. Cal tries to help bring this to the director attention. As well as Cal making more effort to realize how workplace situations affect women. It was a great growth idea and Cal really tried to be open but fair at work.
The ending work situation with Patrick was a downer and wasn’t truly closed. We do find out more about the online dating guy and why he gave a wrong number, but even that wasn’t fully closed to me. Did online guy get counseling? I am not saying who he is because he does play a part with Indy and Cal getting together and they later find out how he is. Cal helps to resolve this but I was hoping to know what happened after Cal’s meeting with online guy.
Possible loose spoilers, but this explains my review further–
Now, what I disliked? Early in their relationship, Indy saw Cal with another woman at a restaurant curbside pickup and immediately jumped to the conclusion that he has a wife or girlfriend. I just didn’t see why that would be her first idea (that he already had a girlfriend and he was cheating). Indy avoided Cal for a week before she finally found out she was embarrassingly wrong (it was Cal’s sister). It was just immature of Indy to jump to that conclusion, avoid talking to Cal about it. It was just too high school or New Adult romance theme of trying to force a cheating angle and didn’t fit. Especially, before that curbside pickup event, Indy had gone out with another guy (with Leslie, Leslie boyfriend and a mutual friend Marcus). Nothing much happened but if Cal saw them together he could have easily turned the tables that Indy already had a BF…and Indy ended up bringing Marcus to a work Halloween Party where Cal DID see them together. Which of course he got jealous. It just made Indy more immature which took her character down a notch to me.
Finally, the situation with the board of directors was unexpected. But, what I don’t get is why Cal and Indy didn’t at least talk to a lawyer. Spoiler……
Cal had quit. The board of directors had pictures of Cal and Indy at work in, ahem a ‘situation’, that wasn’t work approved. Patrick was going to be sent back to Chicago offices, and Indy would be made a supervisor. Which would be a direct violation of HR inter-relationship policy. So, Cal would have to fire Indy or break off his relationship. That doesn’t scream lawsuit to me? That just seemed like a loophole to me and wasn’t resolved satisfactorily. Plus, when Indy found out Cal quit without ‘consulting’ with her…she got mad at him. WTH? Why would he need to get her permission to quit? Thankfully, Leslie clued Indy into her behavior and Indy came to her senses but really…did Indy’s character not grow up in this story?
So, that my honest review. This is more of a 3.5 but I rounded up to 4. I received this ARC from the author’s in exchange for an honest review.
This is a new to me author and I’m so excited that I took a chance. This book was amazing. I love the premise of a wrong number being the way a couple meets and this book doesn’t disappoint.
I loved the characters of Indy and Cal. They both were genuinely good people who happen to meet unconventionally and it sort of snowballs. However, I felt that once the two realized the situation they were now in, they handled it very responsibly and tried hard to fight the attraction they both felt.
I really liked the character of Indy but my heart belongs to Cal. This was the perfect book boyfriend!! I loved that he was portrayed as alpha. However his “alphaness” outside the bedroom was more about caring for the people around him. Taking charge and making sure that his family and employees are being treated fairly. How can you not swoon at that?
As I stated above, this is the first book I have read by this author but it won’t be the last.
Texting the wrong number leads to a HEA that is so right. This is a fun, steamy read. Indy and Cal are great, their chemistry is off the charts ( if I was sure I would get a Cal, I might be tempted to text the wrong number too). Indy’s best friend is hilarious and there are some characters you will love to hate. All in all this book should be added to any TBR list. Highly recommended.
Wrong Number is a breath of fresh air right now. This book is not only spine-bendingly hot, it is hilarious! I actually laughed out loud and couldn’t stop snorting from trying to keep myself from gut-busting laughter during some of this book. It is brilliantly written. The chemistry between Cal and Indy is undeniable, both in and out of the sheets. You definitely want to pick this book up. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!!
Wow! What a great book. I went into this book blindly, which I NEVER do. But maybe I should, because this time it went so well! I was very pleasantly surprised by this book. 5 stars
It all starts with a text to who Indy thought was the guy she has been talking to and ends with a hea that will melt your heart! Indy and Cal definitely have a unique meet cute. He is freshly back in his hometown hanging out with some friends when he gets a text from an unknown number that he can not ignore. Indy was tired of waiting for the guy she has been talking to to make a move so she decides to make one herself, but things do not go according to plan. These two have a hot weekend together and do not expect it to become anything more life has other plans though when Indy goes to work Mo day morning and in walks Cal. Things get a little complicated with all the office drama and so e u foreseen family drama but these two work through it and start an amazing relationship. Things get a little bumpy towards the end of the book but things are resolved and these two get thier well deserved hea. This was a fabulous book and a great read.
I really enjoyed this office romance and read it in a couple of hours. What happens when you text the wrong number but it turns out to be the right guy? It was funny in places and maddening in other places. Indy and Cal hook up for what they think is a one night stand but when Monday morning comes and he’s suddenly the new boss, you know things are gonna get interesting. Indy’s friend is a hoot and I loved her humor and loyalty to her friend. There isn’t really any OW/OM drama which is refreshing but there are a few twists. I can’t really say much about them because it might contain spoilers and I don’t do that. Sorry! I loved the story and will highly recommend this book to anyone who asks!!
This was a really cute read. It was fairly light on the drama and not a ton of “we can’t be together” conversation which I loved. The banter between Ivy and Cal was great and the heat was off the charts. Wrong numbers to live is one of my favorite themes and the author did really well with it. I don’t want to give to much away but this is the perfect read of you want something sweet and sexy, with great characters. 4 stars #2OCCJD
THE WRONG NUMBER CAN BE THE RIGHT ONE
I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review
Indy meets Cal via a text message when Neil, the person she is dating, gives her the wrong number. Wild sex and later finding out he’s her new boss, Indy doesn’t know how to handle the situation. Add in a racist, homophobic and misogynistic supervisor, you have a wondrous story as to what should be done. Ultimatums and nepotism lead to a drastic decision, drama and a HEA.
