Never fall in love when it’s supposed to be just for fun… stopped, and I miss my flight.
Luckily, Ryan misses the plane too.
He suggests we take a road trip to Dunedin, and I jump at the chance to spend a cozy couple of days with him.
I’ve had a crush on him for years.
When I discover the feeling’s mutual, it’s a short step to sharing a bed when we stop on the way.
It’s just for fun. Neither of us is interested in anything serious.
A quick fling at the wedding will get him out of my system.
But it turns out the more time I spend with him, the more I want him.
All too soon, it’s time to return to the Ark, where life is pulling us in different directions.
But now I’m hopelessly, helplessly in love.
How do I get myself into these situations?
For God’s sake, why is adulting so hard?

Although I found this story to be a bit long and repetitive in parts, you just can’t help but love this series and author. I enjoyed Ryan and Clio’s characters a lot, chemistry was off the charts, and their personalities were a great fit. Loved the background of the castle for the wedding, you know when you read a Serenity Woods novel, you’re going to get a personal tour of the area and history of the venue where it’s taken place. Great addition to the series, can’t wait to read Jules and Stefan’s story.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
A real treat, a joyful romance
I enjoyed every page of this steamy contemporary romance. I love how Clio and Ryan enjoy each other’s company so much. These two are honest, thoughtful, and willing to take a chance on each other. The beautiful love scenes are extraordinary. I can’t think of any other romance novel in which the characters are as joyful in their love-making as Clio and Ryan. The other part that I love about this book is the fun road trip across picturesque New Zealand to a family wedding in a castle! Plus, all of the other characters from previous books in the series participate in the wedding and the reception as well! I love it.
This author’s billionaires act like regular people, which I like. There are no spoiled braggarts in this series. Actually, Clio is the billionaire, but Ryan is wealthy, too. The first person perspective alternates between the pair of primary characters. For readers that care about four letter words, there is occasional swearing, including “Jesus”. I heartily recommend this to all fans of steamy contemporary romance.
Clio and Ryan do have an unusual family relationship: although they are not related by blood, Clio and Ryan are first cousins since Ryan was adopted into the King family as a child. Still, I think this is okay, especially since Clio hardly ever saw Ryan when she was a child. Ryan is eight years older than Clio and recently divorced. Clio is in her mid-20s, I think, and she just finished veterinary school. They and their family and friends all work at an animal rescue and veterinary practice on the North Island of New Zealand.
I received a free advanced reading copy from the author, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.
Serenity Woods writes amazing character-driven stories of second chances and relationships that heal. Clio is struggling with conflicting feelings of gratitude and resentment toward the family she loves. Ryan is trying to heal and recover from disappointment and broken dreams of a previous relationship. The chemistry is definitely there between them. They just need the right circumstances and willingness to give it a try to spark the magic. I loved this story of two more of the Kings as well as an interesting glimpse of New Zealand’s South Island.
I was excited to be back with the Kings and their family and friends and My Wicked Billionaire was everything and a lot more than I expected, it captivated me and there was no putting down until I had read the final line. This is a love story that ticked all my boxes, it’s romantic, it’s witty and the chemistry is sizzling hot.
Clio is the youngest of the King clan and the family have always treated her like the baby of the family never really allowing her to grow up, she may be the scatter brain of the family but that hasn’t stopped her graduating as a vet and taking up a position at Noah’s Ark.
Ryan is also a King but as an adopted member of the family he has always been attracted to Clio and when they both find themselves missing the flight that’s taking them to Clio’s brothers wedding he offers to drive them to Queenstown to pick a early flight up that will still get them there on time. The road trip is long but never boring as Clio opens up o Ryan about her feelings for him but will he take a chance and cross the line, will they both risk friendship for passion…….
I loved the banter this couple shared, it was witty and seemed so natural and what can I say about the chemistry apart from its scorching hot!!!!. I love meeting new members of this family but what I also love is how in every book we catch up with what’s going on with the rest of the King Clan. This author really has a way with words she paints pictures with her words as she describes the New Zealand countryside. Looking forward to more from one of my favourite families.
I Voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book
Holy hotness! Ryan and Clio are awesome together. Both missed the flight for Clio’s brother’s wedding, so begins the road trip. What better way to start what’s supposed to be a fling. They learn a lot more about each other, and Ryan comes to some realizations as does Clio. But that’s nothing compared to what ends up happening between the sheets. Things heat up in more ways than one. The growth of both characters in such a short time is amazing.
In My Wicked Billionaire (The Billionaire Kings Book 6) by Serenity Woods, Clio, the youngest of the bunch wants to finally be seen as an adult she is and not as the baby of the group. In many ways she is still the youngest with the potty mouth to try to prove that she is an adult. Ryan is older by eight years he is the calm in her chaos. While they are cousins, it is by marriage only. Honestly she brought some color to his world which was needed even more than his calm t hers. I am not sure which of the two the title refers to because both are wealthy both enjoys the same things in bed and out.
Much about this story to love, a young adult standing on her own, one finding the love he deserves after divorce and family that meddles, smothers but also loves fiercely. The trip to Dunedin for the wedding is as always in a Serenity Woods’ book a visit to New Zealand as if you also made the trip.
If you have been keeping up with the Kings this is a must read for you. If new the series, have no fear even though all the family is there, this is complete in itself. Though it will make you want to read the story of Leon and Nix, My Boss, the Billionaire, since their wedding is the backdrop of this book.
An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher or author which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
MY WICKED BILLIONAIRE is a standalone read with lots and lots of sex and a HEA. Clio is the youngest of the King kids. She is the only girl and a wild child so she has been spoiled by the whole clan. Having just finished her finals in her 5 year study to be a vet she is ready to celebrate.
She is going to the airport to catch a flight to the South Island to attend her brother’s wedding. Her watch stops and she is running way behind as she misses the last flight. She is very upset and has no idea what to do next. Ryan is one of the King men, adopted when he was a child. He is 8 years Clio’s Sr. and has been married but is now divorced. Due to traffic he also misses the flight. The two of them decide to drive part way, catch another flight and then drive the rest of the way. This is the road trip to end all road trips. It turns out to be quite an experience for the two of them. This is the first time they have really spent any time together. However, Clio has had her eye on him for sometime and she decides to seduce him.
This is a fun, romantic, exciting read. I loved it and I definitely recommend it.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 11/16/2019
Another fabulous novel in Serenity Woods’ Billionaire Kings series. Ryan and Clio are cousins by adoption, and friends. When they both miss their plane to Clio’s brothers wedding, they embark on a road trip through New Zealand in which they realize their mutual attraction and choose to act on it.
Ryan and Clio are wonderful, fun characters who felt like real, flawed people Serenity’s writing kept me turning the pages from the very first page, and made me want to book a flight to New Zealand!
This is a fantastic, fun, sexy romance, based on friendship, family and love. I really enjoyed seeing all the characters from the previous novels in the series, but this book can also be read as a stand-alone.
I was given a free ARC of this book but my opinions are strictly my own.
Story about two friends flirting with moving out of the cousin by adoption / friend zone as they wind their way to New Zealand’s South Island
This book has familiar (and fab) characters and writing with dialogue that will make you wish you were in the car!
First, the characters. Ryan and Clio are members of the King family (and if you haven’t read any of the other Billionaire Kings books, put it on your list for sure). They’ve always been fond of each other and have kept each other at arms’s length romantically, even though they are not related.
Ryan works at the Ark, an animal shelter run by other members of the family. He’s a solid guy and good friends with Clio’s (over involved) brothers. Clio is the little sister/cousin that every one watches out for… she’s got a bit of a reputation of being ditzy, its that really the case?
As they both miss the plane to Clio’s brother’s wedding, they decided to drive. On the trip, they discover that they have lots in common … including surpassed infatuation for each other. This story is about what happens when you take a leap, focus on what you want as you throw of the chains of expectations by those who may want the best for you, but don’t have to life your life, and family.
This story has self-doubt, temptation, loads of NZ colloquiums, and fabulous writing that will make you wish for your own drive to Dunedin! ….. and Ms. Woods should really get a kickback from the NZ Tourist board. The story, and our characters, wind their way through the South Island and features Larnach Castle.
If you’re into the series, this is one that will highlight favorite couples and feature familiar friends from previous books. If you haven’t read the series, it’s a standalone …. but you’ll want to start at the beginning.
I received an ARC. This is my honest review.
Loved this book. It was great to have all the family from all the previous books together. Clio and Ryan are complex characters that really held my interest. Great addition to the King family series.
I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
An Enjoyable Sexy Read.
Ryan and Clio have known each other for years but the age difference has meant that they did not know each other well. However, after Ryan’s divorce and Clio’s breakup with a long term boyfriend their attraction to each other begins to heat up. Clio may be scatty and rather disorganised but she goes after what she wants, and what she wants is Ryan in her bed, despite the reasons why they should not get together. On an unexpected road trip they connect like they never have with anyone else.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
My Wicked Billionaire by Serenity Woods
Billionaire Kings #6
Loved…LOVED…L O V E D this book!
Cousins, not really related by blood, end up on a road trip to a family wedding. Neither planned to miss the plane but once missed…best option is to travel together to get there on time. Brash, bold, open, special and caring…Clio King is just finishing up her veterinary medicine degree and has had a hot crush on Ryan King for some time. Why not act on it…if he is amenable…but how to make him amenable and have him see her as a woman and not as just a young cousin? And Ryan King…well…he is a studly do-right and many a woman’s dreamboat. BUT he has been in a marriage that was not the best fit for him and left him…leery…and having been warned off Cio by her older brother…well…can he? Should he? Could he? Will he take her up on the flirting offer she has put forward?
I loved the easy flow of this story. The romance grew easily and was fun to watch. It was HOT and STEAMY and left me thinking of days gone by when I was 25 and Clio’s age and now wishing I had been as open and verbally capable as she was. I did see a bit of myself in Clio 🙂
Did I like this book? Oh my…do you even have to ask…YES! I truly did love this book!!!
Would I read more in this series? When is the next book out? DEFINITELY!!!
I love this author’s ability to create wonderful characters in believable stories that leave me feeling I know everyone and wish I could be there in the story with them.
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.
5 Stars
5 Star Review of My Wicked Billionaire (The Billionaire Kings # 6) by Serenity Woods
Clio is the youngest of the King cousin’s and struggles to be seen as adult by her family. Just about to graduate as a veterinarian and take her place at Noah’s Ark she is known to be slightly scatter-brained.
She has always been attracted to Ryan and when she misses her flight to Dunedin for her brother’s wedding, he steps in and offers to drive her.
Taking the opportunity to get to know one another more, she is thrilled to learn that Ryan is attracted to her too..Will they take a chance, or will they ignore their chance of happiness?
The chemistry between Clio and Ryan burns bright. My Wicked Billionaire is a sweet, romantic and at times spicy story that will bring a smile to your face and have you cheering for Clio and Ryan to get their
happily ever after.
I loved the banter and the build up of tension between Ryan and Clio as they both struggle to come to terms with what they want.
It was great to catch up with the extended King family and as always the writing was so descriptive that I could easily picture the scenery of New Zealand countryside.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Noah’s Ark is a refuge for abused and abandoned animals, and for family and friends of the King brothers. This philanthropic group has helped countless sick children and then the next generation created an animal sanctuary. Clio is the youngest of the King cousins and is having a difficult time being taken seriously as an adult. She has just qualified as a veterinarian but her cousins still think of her as the spoiled rich kid who threw tantrums. She is starting to question whether working as a vet at The Ark is the best for her. She has a long-term crush on her “cousin-by-adoption” Ryan who does the IT work for The Ark. But Ryan is still stung by his divorce to the “ice queen” and not in the market for a new relationship, especially with the sister of his best mate. This series explore many important topics and Serenity is not afraid to take on tough issues. In Wicked, she looks at the real issue of compatibility in relationships, especially sexual compatibility. In the process, Serenity build up a real sexual tension in the pages that will leave you all hot and bothered. Clio and Ryan are stuck on a road trip together and she is trying to push him into a fling by torturing him with sexual banter and flirting. The result is a fun, humorous and very hot story that comes to a head at her brother’s wedding. Nothing like a wedding to make people examine their relationships and ideas about love and marriage. Serenity’s books always have happy endings but I had my doubts that she would make it this time. But she does! This is a very romantic, steamy and fun romp with characters you will fall in love with.
I would give this book 4.5 stars. I liked Ryan and Clio as a couple. Clio is so uninhibited, and Ryan just seems to take things in stride. There steamy scenes are so sensual. You can feel the buildup of their sexual tension, and how much they want each other.
I think Ryan and Clio knew from the beginning that they could not be casual, a one night fling, or a get it out of their system crush. It just took them a while to accept it.
I really wish we could have spent a little more time with Ryan and Clio after they returned to the Ark. I would have enjoyed that detail. I did like the journey to the wedding, and the wedding at the Castle. I am looking forward to Stefan and Jules’ book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received from the author.
