** A spin-off from the USA TODAY Bestselling Better Date than Never series!! **Erica Conner is a carefree yoga instructor who is fine going solo to her friend’s wedding until her uptight ex’s mother tells her he’ll be attending with his new fiancée. When she pities Erica for not having a plus-one, the criticism triggers Erica to pretend her wedding date is the new guy from yoga class who has been … class who has been very friendly toward her lately.
Josh Taylor overhears Erica claiming he’s her wedding date and decides to play along. While he impresses her nemesis by revealing he’s a successful corporate guy, Erica’s excitement about him sinks since her ex is a workaholic who never prioritized her. As Erica debates asking Josh out for real, he requests a shocking favor in exchange for being her wedding date: that she help him win back his ex-girlfriend.
Erica is disappointed but agrees to the deal. As she plays Josh’s girlfriend in front of his ex to make him seem like marriage material, she discovers he’s ambitious, but also caring and supportive. While on their fake dates, she’s laughing and having fun and finally comfortable being herself around a guy for the first time ever.
As their faux relationship grows, Erica loses her heart to Josh. And when he spontaneously kisses her she doesn’t know if it’s for show or for real. If Erica risks her heart and reveals her feelings to Josh, will he turn her down? Or will he be her wedding date for real, and maybe the love of her life?

Lighthearted, full of humour, fun and heartwarming
That read made my day. For me it felt like pure comedy of errors. From one situation to the other with the twists and turns whole story kept me interested and entertained. It was perfect to bring my mood up when I needed that. I was looking for something to cheer me up and this one didn’t fail.
Characters are great to connect with, their easy banter, flirting, hilarious and swoon worthy situations made this story so heartwarming and light. You can feel the connection and chemistry flowing between them. Ideal read for the late afternoon.
Loved the characters. Loved the story line. Great read. Have read all her books!! Thank you.
Another fun story
My rating is 4.5 stars
When confronted by her ex’s sharp-tongued mother about who her date for an upcoming wedding will be, Erica, from fear of appearing inadequate, latches onto the closest guy and lies.
In a series of misunderstandings, Josh and Erica go on dates in an attempt to help him win his ex back and to help Erica save face at the upcoming wedding.
In this is a sweet, fun, and romantic story, Erica learns the important lesson that she doesn’t have to live up to anyone’s expectations but her own.

Erica is a yoga instructor who has become attracted to Josh who is always in the front row at her morning class. He is an executive/ owner on a men’s clothing company. When her ex’s snooty mom confronts her about a date for a friend’s upcoming wedding Erica blurts out that she is attending with Josh. He validates her claim and later she explains that she wanted to look good in front of his ex and new fiancé and Josh explained that he could use help asking his former girlfriend jealous. Josh and Erica end up having fun together at events, even playing bingo with Erica’s gram. Josh’s ploy to make his former girlfriend seems to be working but is what Josh wants now? Is Erica willing to admit her feelings for Josh?
I really enjoyed reading this story. I felt like I knew all of the characters from reading the story and was hoping for an HEA.

I had lots of fun reading this story and just did not want to take breaks at all. I so enjoyed these characters and and was interested in the outcome. Definitely a must read.
What a fun story! The characters made me feel like I could be friends with them. Erica and Josh make a really cute couple. They always seemed to have a really good time when they got together. The miscues and mix-ups made me laugh. I loved the whole storyline. Including Josh adopting the Golden Retriever Buddy gave a feel-good feeling. The wedding vows Erica’s friend Kaitlin and her husband exchanged at the wedding touched my heart. I enjoy author Susan Hatler’s voice and this is a great example of it.
Erica and Josh’s story is so sweet and funny. There are so many chances where each could be honest about their feelings for each other, but then their story wouldn’t be half as sweet and funny to read. I loved reading this book and rooting for their HEA.

Susan Hatler never fails to bring a fantastic romantic comedy straight to my fingertips. A fake relationship is one of my favorite tropes right now and when Josh overhears Erica tell her ex’s mother that he’s her wedding date, the games begin…and they sure are entertaining and hilarious!
The characters and chemistry are all on point, leading to some funny and awkward moments, as well as some flirty banter and electrifying kisses. I especially loved Erica’s grandma and Buddy, and the roles they play in magnifying this fake romance. I also loved catching a few glimpses of previous book characters at the wedding. This is a perfect afternoon reading escape!
