I expected a life of music.
I expected to raise my son.
It took one look to make everything change.
I never expected happiness.
I never expected to find her.
I never expected to feel desire.
I never expected I’d be a family man.
I never expected to be loved.
I never expected to fall in love.
They say you should expect the unexpected, I didn’t realize my unexpected would be the forever kind.
… realize my unexpected would be the forever kind.

Nothing better than a fully tattooed rockstar sitting on a couch with kids using him as a human coloring book. This story is so endearing a nd genuine. It’s about how love and family can come at unexpected times from unexpected people in unexpected ways.
One of my all time favorite series!!!
What an absolutely wonderful book that had my emotions running high. This was great story about loss, family, finding love again, and merging families. While this is the second book in the Beaumont series, I highly recommend reading Forever My Girl first before starting this book.
I definitely loved this book and still gave it 5 stars despite my irritation with some things that happened in the story that deserved major eye rolls. So I’ll start with the things I liked. First being Harrison James. I love him more than Liam. He was such a great character. He was so enamored with Katelyn. But more than that he saw himself building a life with her and the twins. His growing relationship with Elle was the cutest thing ever and how was able to make Peyton smile again brought me to tears. Despite Katelyn’s indecisive feelings towards him, Harrison never let it stop him from always being there for her, and making sure that Mason’s memory was always felt and remembered. Harrison is also a great father to Quinn and moments with them two will warm your heart. I completely felt for Katelyn’s fear of her feelings for Harrison. She felt she was betraying Mason and felt she would be starting something too soon. Her grief could be felt with every page and how helpless she felt not knowing how to help Peyton with her pain. But it was clear that Harrison was perfect for Katelyn.
What I didn’t like was that Katelyn clearly judged Harrison based on his tattoos and the fact that he was nothing like Mason. Especially when you get to know Harrison, his exterior definitely does not mirror whats on the inside. He did everything he could to show Katelyn the real man beyond the tattoos. She spent a lot of time judging Harrison, but whatever. But the biggest thing that truly irritated me was Katelyn believing a stranger she meets who tells her all kinds of BS about Harrison completely breaking Harrison’s heart. I’m over the insecure female heroines. And it almost ruined this book for me had it not been for the absolutely amazing ending that had me in tears at the sheer beauty of these two families becoming one.
So I loved this book despite that one major thing that really gets on my nerves about romance books. Harrison and the kids alone make this book amazing. Heidi McLaughlin could not have written a more amazing story. No one compares to Harrison. That drummer has stolen my damn heart.
“Everything in me is saying give up; that I don’t need her, but I do. I need her like I need to breathe.”
I loved seeing Liam and Josie from Forever My Girl again. I appreciate a book/series that lets you get to know multiple characters versus focusing on a couple with some side characters. I felt emotions from every character. The good, the bad and the ugly.
Harrison feels an instant connection with Katelyn and will do anything to get her to love him, but this isn’t an ordinary love triangle. He is competing with a ghost, so he had his work cut out for him. These tattooed bad boys always work their way in to my heart, but Harrison did it effortlessly. He made me want to reach through the pages, wipes his tears and give him a big hug. There is just something about him that was so real.
I just LOVE Harrison. He will live on my top book boyfriend list FOREVER! He is the perfect mix of everything I love…bad ass on the outside, but sweet and romantic on the inside.
Beautiful love story.
This may be the most legitimately stupid heroine ever. A skanky woman gives the h photos of skanky woman and the H together. Tiny h pitches a fit and refuses to listen to the H. All courtesy of the evil OW mastermind leftover from the first book.
When he points out that photoshopped woman was the same height as the heroine and wearing the same dress as the heroine…THE SAME DRESS, she thinks how sneaky he was to buy the OW the same dress as her in order to cheat. Then wonders why he doesn’t show up to mow her lawn.
So much better than the first in the series. Harrison is a great guy and is raising an amazing child. Katelyn has lost the love of her life and doesn’t know how to move forward. That said, as a mother I’d have expected her to have a greater emotional maturity level than that of a teenager. A good listen, but she is very very annoying.
My Unexpected Forever is my favorite in the series. I have been in Katelyn’s situation. I understand her situation and empathized with her actions/decisions. The author got it right.
I wish I had had a Harrison. He is so compassionate, caring, loving. He made this story my favorite. He is super dad and one of the most patient characters I have had the privilege of reading about.
Harrison is doing everything he can to impress Katelyn. The minute he saw her, he just knew. Harrison has found his and Quinn’s home.
Katelyn’s head and heart are full of doubt. She worries what others think. Katelyn needs to follow her daughters and open her eyes and heart.
I love Harrison’s story. It makes my heart swell every time I read it.
Absolutely Loved this book
What a great love story. Well done on the follow up to the first story to this sweet series. This has been an entertaining experience so far and I’m excited to see where this series takes us. It’s well written and the characters are exciting to read. Fun addition to any book lovers collection.
Happy Reading. ..enjoy!
