To give your soul to a demon after watching your hubby get murdered is insane! Yet I would do it too! Now trying to sort out who, why and when she will get her revenge on whomever had to do with him getting killed. Having a demon helping to accomplish it definitely helps! I love this book, the characters and plot! It is a book that needs to be read so do it!!

I found this story to be dark and intriguing. Celina’s life was not what it appeared, and she became entangled in something very dark and evil. Kai was possessive, secretive, yet seemed to have an heart. Although I did sort of figure some of the plot out as I read, I did not want to stop reading to see if I was right or not, to see how it would all end. I look forward to the next book in the series.
I received a copy of this story through CBR Services, and this is my unsolicited review.
This is a new author to me, and she has written an intriguing paranormal revenge story. It’s a book that hooked me from the first few chapters until the very end. There’s mystery and suspense in this story and there is also some dark to it, so it won’t be for everyone.

This was such a great book. I had such a hard time putting this book down. This book is very well written and I love Celina and Kai. I definitely recommend reading.

First let me state that I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review. Also, this author is new to me, and I hope it won’t be for long.
Holy shiznet!!! I couldn’t put it down. This is a love story for sure, but also a mystery, and thriller all rolled into one. The characters are so well thought out, it blew my mind. It’s definitely worth the read. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up
1 word for this book …… phenomenal
When I saw this ARC passing by, I was charmed by the cover and the title. I had not read a summary and entered the story blank. The first chapters gave me the idea that it would be a romance in which Celina had to make choices to preserve the love of her life as the title says; my soul to give.
Then her husband is killed before her eyes and she is hunted. I expected to read a thriller from that moment on. But again I was misled. Celina makes a deal with a demon; my soul to give …..
And then it becomes a romance again where you clearly find the confused emotions of Celina in the story. Just having lost your husband and then falling in love with another …… not a person but the king over demons.
I enjoyed this book that always surprises you and it goes nowhere as you expect. I find the plot brilliantly conceived and described.
I enjoyed the way you describe the blossoming love between Mekaisto and Celina. As a reader, I felt Celina’s struggle, but it fits perfectly into the story as it all develops.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book and give a review

Overview: This book pretty much checked all the boxes for me. I can’t recommend it enough, I REALLY LOVED this story. I had a hard time going to sleep and leaving it unfinished, and I rushed through my grocery shopping for the week after I woke up just so I could hurry back home to finish it. Absolutely recommend if you’re a fan of Paranormal Romance or Paranormal Mystery books.
Concept: 5 Stars
I was excited about this book just from the description but nowhere near as excited as I was after I got a chapter or two in, and every chapter I advanced I got more and more excited. It’s a wonder I didn’t spontaneously combust while reading this. The concept was very original, I’ve certainly never read a book like it, and I read A LOT of books, and a lot of paranormal books, but none like this one. It was a unique concept that seamlessly blended romance, mystery, the paranormal, humor and so much more into one ball of awesome.
Writing: 5 Stars
The writing was excellent, excellent. The dialogue was perfection, for me. I was on the edge of my seat for quite a bit of this book, certainly the last half and especially the last fourth. It was just all executed so flawlessly.
Character Development: 5 Stars
Well rounded characters who were their own people, and by the end of the book you felt like you knew them. There author didn’t rely on any tropes in my opinion and she created some very memorable, unique characters who were fleshed out really beautifully. The author had me laughing out loud a few times at the interactions between Kai and Celina, which is hard to do in writing so it’s all the more impressive for me.
Hero: 5 Stars
Mekaisto, or Kai as you can call him, but only if you’re his Dove, isn’t so much hero as he is anti-hero. I loved him all the more for it. I loved his tenderness at the oddest of moment, his caring about things that no one else would have thought of but he does even though he’s cruel when others would think to be kind. He looks out for her in some of the strangest ways possible, and pushes her but never past her limits. I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed this character, from the way he spoke and acted to his sarcasm, wit and odd protectiveness.
Heroine: 5 Stars
No simpering, needy, can’t fend for herself female lead here, nope not Celina, she’ll talk shit to a demon and even make threats and challenge him. She’s a beautiful character, and her grief is so well written that it really touched me. I felt her struggle with the fact that she was falling in love with Kai, and respected her fight against that happening because she just lost her beloved husband and didn’t want to betray his memory or their love. She was strong and fierce when she needed to be but tender, kind and caring when others maybe wouldn’t have been, as well as sarcastic, snarky and beautifully vulnerable. I also loved that she wasn’t the typical thing, perfect, beautiful heroine, she was curvy but okay with her body even though she had insecurities like everyone else. Well written, wonderfully well written.
Secondary Characters: 5 Stars
These are some of the best secondary characters I’ve read in a really long time. They run the gamut from religious nuts, smarmy men hitting on a widdow at her husbands funeral, zealous priests, demons who torture for scientific purposes even though they recognize that they take pleasure in causing as much pain as possible, the og vampire who loves his kids even though he’s a demon who can’t love and offers to take their place when he is afraid they’ll be hurt and so many more. I mean really, you wouldn’t think a paranormal romance mystery could be funny, but the author achieves it with some of these characters.
Plot: 5 Stars
This plot put me through my paces. As soon as you think you know what’s going on and you think you know what’s about to happen, you find out that you don’t know shit. Not shit. This happens over and over and over again. She really keeps you guessing as to what is going on, who the bad guy is, who the good guy is, why this or that is happening, how it’s going to be resolved and what’s going to happen next. I’m pretty hard to surprise, but this book surprised me, a couple of times. There was only one thing I guessed correctly, and that was in relation to her father. Really well done.
Pacing: 5 Stars
Again, this was executed super well. The pacing wasn’t uneven, I feel like we started off slow compared to where we end up, but I don’t think that’s necessarily an issue for me. On the contrary I appreciate that the first chapter or two played out the way that they did. Again, I can’t find flaw with the authors writing, plot or pacing here, they all blend together seamlessly as if you’re watching this play out in real time. Wonderful.
Ending: 5 Stars
All I am going to say here is I can not wait until the next book. If I could find a way to beta read for the author so I didn’t have to wait so long to read it, believe me I would do it. Seriously, I can’t wait to get my hands on the continuation of this story, if I got it yesterday it wouldn’t be soon enough. I got this book a few weeks ago, and I’ve already read it twice.
World Building: 5 Stars
I’m including this because we do get several glimpses of what humans would think of as hell in this book, and it does include Demons, and so the author had to do some creating and imagining here. She gave the demons different characteristics and gave them their own sort of culture I suppose you could say. When Kai is in his true form, it is harder to control his demonic urges, and even his anatomy is different than humans. It’s the little things that count here, and she truly wrote this as if she was talking about any other people of the world. They had different feelings, emotions, customs, norms, motivations, speech patterns, languages etc. Very well rounded. Also, I liked the bit about the experimenting with souls, trying to find where the soul is housed in a human body, what it is etc. Really, you just have to read it to see, it’s just so good. I appreciate that they aren’t just generic demons that live in hell and do mean stuff.
Chemistry: 5 Stars
Tension so thick you could cut it like hot butter at some points. I loved the build up and the struggle for Celina to recognize her feelings because of all she’s going through. The chemistry was so well written and flawlessly executed, I can’t say that enough, it was so well written.
Cover Art: 3.5 Stars
This is about the only thing I’m not going to give an extremely and uncharacteristically high score for me. I rarely if ever give out so many 5 Star ratings in a review, I rarely rate a book 5 stars at all. This book was so good and so interesting and so unique unto itself I felt like the cover should reflect that somehow instead of blending it with the sea of other paranormal romance books that use a similar-ish type of cover. I still like the cover, but I just wish it had been a little more bold or different somehow. Anyway, something as subjective and trivial as my opinion of the stinkin’ cover art is NOT going to pull my rating of this amazing book down anyway.
Rating: There is some freaky demon sex, just be aware that demons anatomy is not like human anatomy 😉
I received a free ARC of this book from the author via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This was incredibly well written and bigly bingeworthy. It was also thought-provoking long after the last page was turned. I had never even heard of M.A. Fréchette before, but will be going out of my way to gobble up everything she’s authored and will author in the future. But back to the book: darkness, sense of self, forgiveness, revenge, trust, truth, lies, destiny, and love were some of the underlying themes. This steamy book featured religious aspects, but not in a dogmatic way, making it 100% safe and entertaining for everyone not willing to be preached at or brain-washed.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
This was screed up in all the best ways possible. . Celina…she’s such an amazing character. The things she deals with, goodness.

Wow! That’s the first word that comes to mind about this book. I was hooked from the moment I started and I couldn’t believe the ending. I absolutely loved it and cannot wait to read book 2.

My Soul to Give
(A Demon’s Love Book 1)
Genre: Paranormal/Romance
Pages:476
This book is a bit steamy, however it’s very much on the dark side.
I am on the fence with this one I don’t know if I love it or hate it I feel like there is no in-between.
I understood the plot but I expected more romance but romance Kim of fell flat. There is really great character development as you would expect in the first book of a series.
Something seems to be missing I don’t know what yet, maybe because it is book 1 questions get answered in book two or things will just make more sense.
Would you sell your soul to the devil for the love of your life ?!
The “bad guy” of the story really was the best part all the best villains have the name Kai or some variant lol.
I am looking forward to book two.
I hope there is more steam then darkness in the next read.
I will give it four stars because it is book one and it keeps you reading it has a good plot I just don’t think this is my type of book something I am willing to get use to.
This story was very unexpected! I started in one mindset and ended in a completely different one! There was sooo much involved in this storyline itself. The characters were very well developed and the story itself was original and intriguing. This paranormal romance took me some place I did not see coming at all. The amount of suspense, mystery, drama, romance, as well unexpected twists just made the story even more exciting.
When Celine’s husband is murdered she is devastated and angry. She wants revenge and is willing to sell her soul for it. When she meets a demon named Kai the night of her husbands murder he gives her just that option, and she takes it. As the pair start to explore Celine’s former life they discover a lot of hidden secrets that inspire more questions than answers. Kai knows more than he lets on, and as he Celine go thru this vengeful journey we discover that sometimes things are not at all how the seem.
This book is so good amd the whole time you are reading you think you have everything figured out amd let’s just say nothing is as it seems. Never would I have thought the ending would be as it was. This is a really good book amd I love how the Author does not leaving you hanging until the next book to find out important events! There are some really good steamy scenes in this book very interesting and ummmmmm imaginative! All in all I really liked this book and am excited to read the next one in this series
5/5 Stars
My Soul to Give (A Demon’s Love #1) by M. A. Fréchette
This is the first book I’ve read by Fréchette. My Soul to Give is the first book in the A Demon’s Love Series and will need to be read in order. This is a great page turner.
Kai is a demon and has been following Celina since she was a child. When he finds her after her husband does things change. He finds that he loves her and doesn’t want to lose her. The quote I chose for Kia is: “We have plenty of time for that. You need only be patient, which I know can be difficult for humans. Now then, let us plot your revenge, shall we?”
Celina has lost her parents and now her husband. When she is hunted down by the people who killed her husband she comes to the black tree. Her black tree. She finds that Demons are real. The quote I chose for Celina is: “So, my aunt paid someone to kidnap Lumen male children to gain immortality?”
Highly recommended for Paranormal Romance lovers.
This was one of those stories that kept me reading because I couldn’t even guess what was going to happen. Trying to figure out what secrets Thomas had been keeping from Celina, trying to figure out Kai. Kai… man, he definitely was a little hellish. Obviously, right? But the deviant grew on me. There were definitely some dark and twisted parts, but it added to the thrill of it. If you like a little dark, a little mysterious, a little demon-ish give this book a go!
My Soul to Give by M. A. Frechette is the first book in the A Demon’s Love series. I thought this was a really intriguing and different way to go about telling a revenge story. The description instantly made me want to read the book and the start of the story completely hooked my attention. I thought that the author created a unique concept within a genre that is oversaturated.
I enjoyed the characters in the book. They added so much to the story and easily kept my attention. There were a couple of times that I thought the story needed a little bit more attention to detail however the overall idea was absolutely fantastic. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
I really enjoyed this book. It had everything I look for in a book, murder, Paranormal and romance. The author does an amazing job at making the story grip the reader from the start and the twists and turns the reader goes through keeps you gripped until the end. The romance is hot and steamy and with descriptions of murder it is def an adult book.
Celina has it all. A perfect home, perfect husband, life couldn’t get much better. Until her husband gets murdered in front of her. After Celina escapes and almost dies herself she is filled with rage and vows the get revenge on the people that killed her husband. Her wish gets answered in the form of a demon. He can grant her the wish to get revenge but the price will be her soul.
So now Celina is on the journey to find the people responsible for her husbands death and on the way she discovers thing weren’t as she thought they were. Her husband has secrets that could have been the reason for his death.
After finding all this devastating news she turns to the one person by her side. The demon Mekaisto. His charms work on her and their relationship grows. But when her time comes near to surrender her soul does she stay with the devil she knows or risk the path of the unknown?
Anyone who knows me knows I’m a total sucker for a dark romance. This one absolutely did not disappoint. This book is definitely dark, and for more mature readers. From beginning to end, there’s absolutely no way you could guess what’s coming. I binge read this book in under 10 hours and at no point was I ever bored. Kai and Celina are amazing characters and it was crazy how quickly I became obsessed with both of them. The character development alone was enough to have me in love with the book, and then the romance? Was steamy, with the perfect amount of sweetness. Not even going to lie here. There is a good chance I will be re-reading this shortly. Thank you so much to M.A. for writing this book – I can’t wait to read more!
