New York Times bestselling author Jodi Picoult is widely acclaimed for her keen insights into the hearts and minds of real people. Now she tells the emotionally riveting story of a family torn apart by conflicting needs and a passionate love that triumphs over human weakness.
Anna is not sick, but she might as well be. By age thirteen, she has undergone countless surgeries, transfusions, and … transfusions, and shots so that her older sister, Kate, can somehow fight the leukemia that has plagued her since childhood. The product of preimplantation genetic diagnosis, Anna was conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate — a life and a role that she has never challenged…until now. Like most teenagers, Anna is beginning to question who she truly is. But unlike most teenagers, she has always been defined in terms of her sister — and so Anna makes a decision that for most would be unthinkable, a decision that will tear her family apart and have perhaps fatal consequences for the sister she loves.
My Sister’s Keeper examines what it means to be a good parent, a good sister, a good person. Is it morally correct to do whatever it takes to save a child’s life, even if that means infringing upon the rights of another? Is it worth trying to discover who you really are, if that quest makes you like yourself less? Should you follow your own heart, or let others lead you? Once again, in My Sister’s Keeper, Jodi Picoult tackles a controversial real-life subject with grace, wisdom, and sensitivity.

You can’t go wrong with any of Jodi Piccoult’s books, She is an amazing author!
I loved this book but very sad.
The subject matter of this book is really controversial and I was not sure I would like the story. It is haunting but also is a real life issue that many families must probably face after the death of a child. It is not an easy read but I do recommend it.
This is a wonderful book! Surprise ending!
I enjoyed this book so much. It is definitely one that pulls at the heart strings and I defy anyone not to have at least a little cry while reading this book. As always, the characters are so detailed that you feel like you know them and I was intrigued as to where the story would take them. I have read many of Jodi’s books but this one was my …
I have no words to describe how much I enjoyed this book. There was bit of everything love, happiness, tears and so on. It was one of the most emotional books I’ve ever read there were so many things you don’t see coming and that just spice it up a little. The end broke my heart but I would recommend this book a million times.
I really enjoyed the variety of perspectives presented in this book and how each one made me stop and think about what I would do in each particular situation. These are the types of stories that stick with a reader long after “the end.”
I had some suspicions about a few things, and although they were close, they weren’t quite spot-on. This book …
Jodi Picoult never disappoints! Unique and interesting book!
I couldn’t put this book down. But now I kinda wish I had. Do you know what I mean? This is a very well written work about a family in crisis. It starts out with a no-win situation and the whole time I was rooting for a miracle…
This is hands down My ALL TIME FAVORITE BOOK EVER!!!!!! Made such an impact on me. I read it once a year.
Anna is accompanied by excellent characters and a story that challenges society norms.
Ms. Picoult has an amazing way of creating characters. Even the ones you’re supposed to hate are redeemable, and the ones you love have flaws. My Sister’s Keeper is no exception; she weaves a story about likable, relatable, and realistic characters, and showcases all of them so that the reader can see all sides. A masterpiece.
I usually like this author’s novels, but not this one. What a despicable family, to conceive a child to use solely to benefit a sibling!
What’s not to love about JP? This was the second book I read of her’s (the first being The Pact) and it’s one that I recommend for those who love tough choices based on both logic and love. Page-turner for sure!
Good book
