New York Times bestselling author Jodi Picoult is widely acclaimed for her keen insights into the hearts and minds of real people. Now she tells the emotionally riveting story of a family torn apart by conflicting needs and a passionate love that triumphs over human weakness.
Anna is not sick, but she might as well be. By age thirteen, she has undergone countless surgeries, transfusions, and … transfusions, and shots so that her older sister, Kate, can somehow fight the leukemia that has plagued her since childhood. The product of preimplantation genetic diagnosis, Anna was conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate — a life and a role that she has never challenged…until now. Like most teenagers, Anna is beginning to question who she truly is. But unlike most teenagers, she has always been defined in terms of her sister — and so Anna makes a decision that for most would be unthinkable, a decision that will tear her family apart and have perhaps fatal consequences for the sister she loves.
My Sister’s Keeper examines what it means to be a good parent, a good sister, a good person. Is it morally correct to do whatever it takes to save a child’s life, even if that means infringing upon the rights of another? Is it worth trying to discover who you really are, if that quest makes you like yourself less? Should you follow your own heart, or let others lead you? Once again, in My Sister’s Keeper, Jodi Picoult tackles a controversial real-life subject with grace, wisdom, and sensitivity.

Interesting read..heartbreaking but kept me reading until the end.
loved the book but disliked the ending!
This book dealt with current topics that we are wrestling with today. Examining the question of whether you should support life by having another child to to save the child that you already have. All views were well-represented and it made me stop and think about what I would have done.
I didn’t expect to like it but i couldn’t put it down.
Different than the movie. Great read.
Loved this book!
This was a real tear jerker with a totally unexpected twist at the end. One of the best books I’ve read!
Jodi Picoult writes in such a way that I am immediately engrossed in each book. Her subjects vary greatly but are always thoughtful and timely. The characters stay with me for days after finishing each book. And this one was no exception.
All Jodi’s books deal with socitail issues. This one deals with giving up your life to help another. Great read.
I love this author.
“Enjoy most of Picoult’s books… this one is no exception. Subjects are current social issues in our society.
I had a personal confection with the topic as my son had a bone marrow transplant years ago, and I’ll tell you, Picoult gets so many thing right about that kind of experience. It was a cathartic read for me.
At one time or another you feel for each main character of the book. I won’t say more so as not to give away any of the story.
I love the story lines that Jodi Picoult comes up with. In this one a teenager, who has been her sister’s donor, is now saying no more. How her family reacts, good, bad and understanding.
I have also seen the movie since reading this book some time ago. What a story, sometimes sad, sometimes inspirational. A good book.
There’s not much about This author that I don’t love! Her writing makes you feel like a participant in the story and not just a reader. She’s excellent, so far, in all that’s I’ve read!
The book is so much better than the movie! Totally different ending. What!?
Like most Jodi Picoult books, My Sister’s Keeper was well researched and had a very unexpected ending.
I love all Jodi Piccoult’s books. She tackles tough, controversial subjects in an even handed way. None of the above adjectives seems quite adequate to describe her books.
Serious crying on my part at the end. Loved it.
