New York Times bestselling author Jodi Picoult is widely acclaimed for her keen insights into the hearts and minds of real people. Now she tells the emotionally riveting story of a family torn apart by conflicting needs and a passionate love that triumphs over human weakness.
Anna is not sick, but she might as well be. By age thirteen, she has undergone countless surgeries, transfusions, and … transfusions, and shots so that her older sister, Kate, can somehow fight the leukemia that has plagued her since childhood. The product of preimplantation genetic diagnosis, Anna was conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate — a life and a role that she has never challenged…until now. Like most teenagers, Anna is beginning to question who she truly is. But unlike most teenagers, she has always been defined in terms of her sister — and so Anna makes a decision that for most would be unthinkable, a decision that will tear her family apart and have perhaps fatal consequences for the sister she loves.
My Sister’s Keeper examines what it means to be a good parent, a good sister, a good person. Is it morally correct to do whatever it takes to save a child’s life, even if that means infringing upon the rights of another? Is it worth trying to discover who you really are, if that quest makes you like yourself less? Should you follow your own heart, or let others lead you? Once again, in My Sister’s Keeper, Jodi Picoult tackles a controversial real-life subject with grace, wisdom, and sensitivity.

This is the one and only Jodi Picault book I’ve read and will ever read. She just doesn’t write very well. Formulaic and predictable gets contracts, but don’t appeal to this reader.
This book will pull you in immediately! Has a few tear-jerkers, but the characters will pull you in! Joy, laughter, kleenex needed… enjoy!
I’ve read a lot of books, so I’ve become accustomed to being able to spot the upcoming “twists” in a book. There were two in this book I saw coming a mile away, and I was just patting myself on the back when I realized I had no idea what was coming at all. A true hallmark of a well-told story. Overall, the story truly made me think, notably about …
Good read if you absolutely have nothing else to read/do.
An author on my pre-order list. This book was made into a movie that did not do it justice. A younger sister fights for her ability to say no to medical procedures. You will love it.
Yet another great story by Jodi Piccolt! The characters and detail are wonderful! There are so many twists, you constantly guess what will happen next! She has the ability to make you question yourself and what you would do in the same situation!! Must read!
I love all things Jodi picoult. This one was enjoyed as much as her other ones
One of the best books I’ve ever read!
WOW….a story that you will never forget. Characters so real, emotions on steroids.
This author gets it right everytime.
Jodi Picoult writes books about subjects relevant to today’s moral and ethical issues.
This was no exception. It makes for a great book club read but there is a lack of passion in her work. It’s steady: good characters, good plot, interesting points of view but too neat, too tidy.
Once again Jodi Picoult tackles a controversial social topic. I enjoy reading the story as told from the perspective on different characters. I really enjoyed the book, and it made me think.
I like this book very much. The characters were so real I had to keep reminding myself it was fiction. I smiled and cried and wondered, as a parent, what I would do as a parent.
Jodi Piccoult is a master of the heart, writing stories that touch humanity.
Absolutely love this book. Hated the ending,I actually threw the book a few times and picked up and would read again.
A fantastic book about family. Love it!!!!!
One of the best books about love for family I have ever read.
Great Book, but sad. It sounded as though it could be a true story—very sad.
Picoult is always good.
Love it touched home. Made you think what would you do in that situation.
A great read!
