For as long as Prudence can remember, it has been understood that her sister will one day wed the eldest son of their nearest neighbor. Such an alliance will benefit both families and bring a great deal of joy to all parents involved.Unfortunately, Prudence has never been able to feel as joyful. She believes her sister is mad to consider marrying a man she hardly knows, even if he will one day … one day make her a countess. Titles and wealth shouldn’t factor into matters of the heart, and as an aspiring romance novelist, Prudence cannot fathom how anyone could even think of settling for less than love. She certainly wouldn’t, and she doesn’t want her sister to either.
Unable to stand by and do nothing, Prudence sets out to help the awkward couple discover the best in each other with the hope that they will eventually find love. What she neglected to foresee, however, was the possibility that she might fall in love with Lord Knave herself.

Ah, perfection! Seriously this is so good!
I wouldn’t change a thing about this book. Often when I read a book there is something I would change about it. That is not the case with My Sister’s Intended. I was lucky and had a chance to beta read this book and provide feedback. There was absolutely nothing I could give other than don’t change a thing I love it just as it is.
Perfect mix of humor and romance. I adored Prudence and Brand and loved watching their relationship develop through surreptitious meetings and letters.
I wish Rachel was an author who pumped out more than 2 or 3 books each year because I just can’t get enough of her writing. However, I’m grateful she takes the time to deliver quality stories that I can wholeheartedly recommend.
On a side note – I am one who totally judges books by their covers. I fell in love with the cover! So gorgeous. I was not disappointed. This is a case where you can and should judge a book by its cover!

Sophia and Prudence are sisters with different personalities. Sophia is realistic, graceful, and quiet. Prudence is romantic, creative and lively; she aspires to be a novelist. It is understood by the families and community that Sophia will marry Lord Knave, who will inherit the adjoining estate. As this is a typical romance with typical complications, Prudence begins giving Knave advice on how to court her milder sister, and Knave and Prudence fall in love. This book is fun, well written, and charing. The characters are well developed and likable.
The endearing and hopeless romantic, Prudence Gifford reads and secretly writes romance stories. Too bad she doesn’t have the slightest idea about men’s romantic inclinations. Pru turns to Hildebrand Cannon, her sister’s potential suitor for a male perspective. The correspondence between Pru and Brand that she needs for her novel is funny and insightful. This gave me the opportunity to get to know and admire Brand. I thought this was a clever way of seeing Brand’s true character and showing how much he cares for Pru.
If you like Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables, then Prudence Gifford will be a young lady whose naivety, love for life, and forward questions will be someone you will thoroughly enjoy.

Loved the characters of Brand and Prudence. Enjoyed their teasing and loved the ending.
It has long been understood that Prudence’s sister, Sophia, will one day wed Lord Knave, the eldest son of their nearest neighbor. The alliance will benefit both families and bring joy to all parents involved. Prudence, an aspiring romance novelist, does not feel joyful about the union. She believes one should never settle for less than love. Prudence sets out to help the couple discover the best in each other with the hope that they will find love. What she neglected to foresee was the possibility that she might fall in love with Lord Knave herself. – Prudence/Pru is pretty, outgoing, caring, and fun. Sophia/Sophie is a red head with freckles. She is quiet and insecure. Knave is handsome, charismatic, and kind. He is more attracted to Pru than Sophie but courts Sophie and tries to love her. I liked Pru’s mother better at the end of the story than the beginning, but she was my least favorite character. The author does a good job of writing this in a manner that no one gets hurt. This is an entertaining story.
Two sisters who are opposites. One intended for a wealthy and titled man. The other more interested in writing her stories…yet a romantic at heart. Thus begins the making of a plan and the entangling of three lives. The secrets pile up between the sisters, the possible beau and the parents. Secrets create walls that keep others out and one trapped within. What a delight to follow this story to its end! Lots of laughter and surprises along the way.
clean
Good story and no steamy sex – Yea!
Well done clean read.
Loved this series
A clean romance.
It was ok
Too modern in language
Ending too predictable
A very refreshing Historical Romance. No major dramas, danger or suspense-only well crafted intriguing characters going about dealing with expectation, demands and their place in dealing with their place in the world. Excellent.
Well Written. I love an author who can write flawed characters that I can love. They are real, you can relate because this can really happen. I was a little upset at Lord Knave there for a bit but in the end I thought to myself what else could he have done differently. This was a charming, fun story. I really enjoy the way Anderson writes a story. This is the beginning of a new series I am excited to read. Very clean,12 and up.
What a delightful story! I laughed, stayed up way too late to finish, and even read a favorite chapter to my teenage daughter. She was grinning and laughing along with me during that kissing scene.
This was my first Rachael Anderson’s book. This is the first book in the Serendipity Series. This is a Clean, Sweet and beautifully well written Historical Romance Story. This story is also a forbidden love story. Prudence is a beautiful and funny character. Brand is a great man, handsome, comprehensive and protective. He’s intended to marry Sophia, Prudence’s older sister, but the chemistry between Prudence and him is so much strong and sexy. I love the conclusion and the Epilogue ! I’d love to listen to the next story in the Series. The narration was well done. I like Helen Taylor’s voice. Her soft voice fits perfectly with the story. This story was easy to listen and I enjoyed my listening.
I enjoyed this entertaining Regency romance! Prudence is so likeable with her passionate and vibrant personality, and even though she needs to take a backseat to Sophia for the time being, she understands and supports her sister. Sophia seems a bit flat at first, but I love how the deeper layers of her character are revealed. Brand was a great hero, conflicted and reluctant but willing to do his duty for his family. His interactions with Prudence are full of humor and teasing, which is my favorite type of relationship! I was filled with anticipation as their affection grew deeper yet they had to hold back for Sophia’s sake and I couldn’t wait to see how the situation resolved with a happy ending for all. There will be two more books in the series, one for Sophia and one for Prudence’s friend Abby which I’m looking forward to reading!
(I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions in this review are my own)
I loved this book! It was different and held my interest because of that and the wonderful characters. I loved Prudence and was so captured by wondering how the author would managed to give Prudence and Brand the HEA. I could not put it down and continued to hope for the happy ending without hurting her sister.
If, like me, you adore books about closet romance authors and characters you can genuinely root for. Sweet and romantic.
