Falling for my best friend’s older brother was a mistake.I didn’t even like him. We fought all the time. Then something changed last summer and I fell hard. But we took things too far the night before I left for Paris and he broke my heart. So I got on my plane and promised to never look back.I thought I was over him. I thought I could handle seeing him again. But when I got back to Ridgewater, it … again. But when I got back to Ridgewater, it only took one look and a sincere apology to want him back.
There’s just one little problem.
I’m pregnant with his baby and he can’t find out.

They broke the rules. He broke her heart. Does their love deserve a second chance?
I have so many different thoughts dancing through my mind right now! I feel like I just sat down with a seventeen-year-old girl who shared with me her thoughts, worries, and struggles about being pregnant and in high school. There were so many little details that I had never considered before.
Juliette was in such a difficult position. She had a way of masking the identity of her baby’s father, having just returned from a semester abroad. Because of the way things had ended between Easton and herself, she felt it best to allow the misconception about who the father was to remain a secret. Was she right for this? You’d have to make that call yourself.
My heart went out to her for the way her mother seemed to care more about the impact this news would have on her own career than the things Juliette would have to endure as an unwed, pregnant teenager. And the fact that she felt like she couldn’t tell what was going on to her best friend was painful!
Situations like the one in the story are never as black and white as they seem to be at first glance. There are no easy answers. The author threw so many twists into the story making what seemed to be an easy choice difficult. I think she had the characters behave in ways that made sense and think that the way the story ended was the right ending as well. It just might not be the one you expect.
I’m not positive about this, but there may have been a clue about who the next Ridgewater High story will be about. I’m looking forward to seeing if I’m right. Don’t be afraid to jump into the series without having read any of the other books. While it would enhance your understanding of this one, it stands alone quite well. You just won’t know some of the references that are made to past events.
This is a clean romance. I’m saying that without stretching the truth. The details of how Juliette got pregnant were limited to simply her motivation and where they were when it happened. So don’t worry about there being more there than you were expecting. There was a kiss that took up at least a page (on my Kindle) and it was a little steamy, but was tastefully described and was necessary for the story.

I was given a free copy of this item. This gift did not influence my opinion or review.
Although I would still consider this on the cleaner side, its not as clean as the others. It does deal with some non-described sexual content (handled well) and has heavier kissing scenes.
It is also probably my favorite of the series though as it delves a little deeper into emotions.
(4.5 Stars) This was a hard book for me to rate. On one hand, I absolutely loved it and the message it sent, but on the other hand, it was a tough topic to read about (or listen to, in my case). After listening to Book 1 in the series, I grabbed the others and this was the next one in line. I listened to the whole thing in less than a day because I just couldn’t let it go. In some ways, it was like passing a car accident, all messy and concerning, but in other ways, it simply had a strong grasp on my emotions that just wouldn’t release. I couldn’t fathom what Juliette and Easton were going through and I could not imagine how things could possible resolve. I was more than invested in their lives for a time and I’m not mad about it.
Everyone makes mistakes in their lives–some just have more lasting consequences than others. The positive messages and vibes in this book were so encouraging, especially with the romantic tension oozing off the pages. One accident doesn’t mean the game is over and lessons can be learned moving forward. I utterly loved these characters!
Corry does a fantastic job of tackling a modern, sensitive topic and portraying some pretty accurate emotions and reactions. Juliette and Easton are fantastic characters and I was riveted to their story.
Content: moderate romance (kissing, teen pregnancy)
I don’t read a lot of books about teen pregnancy(this is the first where it’s the main theme). I don’t plan on revisiting the topic any time soon. The romance had already happened, so I didn’t get to see too much of it.
It’s an important topic to discuss, because Juliette had a TON of problems being a pregnant teen. You get ridiculed and judged, and it’s a huge time consumption. Not to mention scary. It’s really better to just wait after marriage before having kids.
Well, there’s my two cents. Happy reading!
Absolutely wonderful, and I mean both of those words; this novel was absolutely wonderful! This is the first book that I have ever read by Ms. Corry but I can promise you that it will not be the last! The challenges that this young lady faced was so real that I feel as if I could reach out and touch her right now to help her through her troubles. I love to read and I read a lot, but a book has not moved me like this has in a long time. I look forward to reading more of Judy Corry’s novels, I hope to find and feel just as deep a connection.
