My Rebound is the second book in the On My Own series. This is Mackenzie and Pacey’s story. Mackenzie had her whole life figured out until her life is turned upside down when her boyfriend cheats. Now she has to make a new plan, that’s where Pacey comes in. He offers to be her redound to help her move on. What happens when their rebound starts to become more? This book is great, I can’t wait to read more in the series!
Awesome book. It is very well written. Love Mackenzie and Pacey. I also like how the characters from the first book come into play. A must read. Can’t wait for Miles book
Omg MacKenzie and Pacey’s story is so amazing I absolutely loved the way their story unfolded. The way the plot and the story line unfolded kept me turning the page.I love this from beginning to end. Carrie Ann knows how to make a person get lost in a book.
Love a man with a British accent!
This is book two in the On My Own series but can be read as a standalone. Pacey Ziglar and Mackenzie Thomas are two of the least likely pair I expected to come together, especially after reading My One Night. I loved that we got so much of Pacey and his story. Learning about his family life, his friendships, and his physical ailments made him so real and not just a sexy perfection. I was equally surprised with Kenzie. Yes, she is an organizer, planner, attention to detail and loyal friend. She also has a load on her shoulder with school and trying to fit in to her new living arrangements with friends that were her ex-boyfriend’s first. She also has an ex that realizes what he has lost but worse is her ex-boyfriend’s best friend who is determined to see Kenzie fail.
These two will need each other to lean on and be there emotionally and physically and more than a rebound. I have fallen in love with this group of eight friends. I still cry when I think of Corinne but not so much for Sanders.
I love Carrie Anny Ryan’s stories as she creates characters that we can all relate to. I am already looking forward to more from this series.
I really enjoyed Mackenzie and Pacey’s story. For me, Pacey shined in this book and kind of carried it thru his point of view more so than Mackenzie. With book 1 being about Dillion, it felt right for this one to be carried by Pacey. I loved getting the guys be the focus more so than the girls in this instance. CAR is a must read author for me so I read everything she write. I cannot wait to see where this series goes next. Especially with the teaser at the end.
I really enjoyed this story! It was great to see Mackenzie come out better from what Sanders did to her at the last of the first book in series. (Don’t worry if you haven’t read it, this one does explain what happened so you won’t be lost). I loved how Pacey was ready to be a friend and whatever Mackenzie needed. I loved how that he asked what she needed and really listened. These two were not set to have anything serious, it wasn’t even going to be a typical rebound but they just fell together. I loved how their relationship built and how they tried to communicate their feelings and what was going on, even when they didn’t fully understand it themselves. They just got each other. I loved how Pacey understood her need to have a plan and lists and need things defined and never took offense to them. It really just made these two work from the beginning. That’s not to say that they didn’t have their issues that they needed to deal with and overcome. Both were overwhelmed with outside issues that kept throwing their lives upside down. I loved getting to see these two come together and be better for it. This story definitely pulls you in and connects you to the story and the characters. I loved getting to know Tanner and Miles better as well. I can’t wait to get their stories.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This is book 2 in the On My Own series and I would absolutely read the first book before reading this one. Yes, it could be read as a stand alone but these characters are all interconnected and I honestly think it would make more sense if you read the first book. With that being said, in this one we get Pacey and Mackenzie’s story! Mackenzie has had her life planned out since she was little, right down to who she would marry. But when that relationship ends in a huge way, she decides to throw out all her plans and make new ones. And her biggest one is to have a night of fun with Pacey. She thought it would just be one night. She never planned on falling for the man who was just supposed to be a rebound.
I really liked Mackenzie from the start. She is likable and relatable in ways that I think a lot of people can understand. We all feel like her at some point in our lives. And with how her relationship ended-we have all been there as well. Pacey also has things going on in his life that no one knew about. He hides things so well that you never know that there is something much bigger happening. I really wasn’t sure how these two would work together, but honestly they complimented each other in ways that I didn’t expect. Their chemistry was there from the get go but they also had friendship there as well for them to build off of. There is laughter, love, but also just great friendships. Definitely well worth the read!
Mackenzie was with the same guy since she was 5 now that she is in college she things that everything is going to plan. Only he cheats on her.
After they break up Mackenzie wants a rebound but she doesn’t expect to catch feelings for Pacey. College life is rough and their course loads are jam packed.
I loved this couple. They had a fun back and forth, and they understood how each other worked and thought. Love this whole YA series.
Carrie Ann Ryan has done it again. My Rebound is the second book in the On My Own series. This is Mackenzie and Pacey’s story. Your not supposed to fall in love with the rebound, but it happens anyway. Pacey and Mackenzie are great. This is a phenomenal read.
love this series
love this family
pacey and Mackenzie grabbed my heart
intense emotional broken heartstopping amazing love story
ready for more
I loved Pacey and Mackenzie together, they deserved to find surprise happiness with each other after what they had each been through, despite the rules made for their rebound. Definitely surprised at the direction the story took, but so awesome! Looking forward to the next book.
Received an advance copy from the author.
A friends to lovers romance with so much heat and heart it had me unable to put this down. I practically devoured this in one sitting because I am sucker for this trope and Pacey was just swoon-worthy all around. Mackenzie was fun and nerdy and relatable. The relationship itself seemed real and not like you were reading a book. I could feel their emotions and found myself reading this like a movie.
Mackenzie and Pacey are amazing. I love this couple. Mackenzie is spunky and feisty and makes the story so fun.
This book is so sweet and at the same time bring all the insecurities and anxieties of being a twenty year old in this new brave world.
Mackenzie and Pacey are friends who have been through a lot of pain in the past year, she broke up with her long lasting boyfriend and he lost a very close friend suddenly. They are kind of adrift and decided to be each others rebound… They were not prepared for the feelings they long for each other but it happenned anyway.
A very sweet book with lots of friendship and love.
I just loved it!
Love how these friends are there for each other.
Cos that’s all they are, right? That’s what Mackenzie keeps telling herself. Oddly that’s also what Pacey keeps telling himself.
Loved how both these friends want to help each other out….all the while falling in love.
Love the fact that Mackenzie can put what happened with that snake, in the right place. And grow from it.
Loved how we get to see why Pacey is like he is, we get to find out things that not even the boys knew.
These might be college/university aged characters but trust me, they’re adults. And I love that fact, they’re not drinking their lives away, they’re working blooming hard.
Sending hugs to anyone who’s going through what both these people have gone through. Not gonna say what but yeah, love and hugs

Mackenzie Thomas has a plan for everything, including the path her love life will take. But when she catches her longtime boyfriend cheating on her, her carefully crafted plans begin falling apart.
Pacey Ziglar offers to be Mackenzie’s rebound – to help her find her footing as she makes a new plan after her breakup.
There is a lot going on in this story that I wasn’t expecting from the synopsis, and I’m not going to hint about what those pieces were except to say that I loved how everything blended together as Mackenzie recovered from her breakup and Pacey did what he could to support her.
I was entertained by this couple from the very beginning. I loved Pacey’s protectiveness of Mackenzie, his interest in helping her recover and find a new plan. He understood her need for order and preparation, and though he didn’t need the same structure he knew she needed to have things lined up.
I enjoyed returning to this group of friends. They faced a blow in My One Night that has them doing what they can to move on. While each book in the series stands alone, part of Mackenzie’s arc involves her finding her own place within the group of female roommates after they’ve moved to a new house. I am looking forward to continuing this story after the teaser at the end!

Mackenzie and Pacey have a chemistry that has been bubbling beneath the surface for some time. When the opportunity arises for them to act on it, they both have some reservations. Mackenzie knows she should be focusing on herself and how to get most of what she wants for her future. Her plans have altered in ways she never expected, and for someone who is very rigid in terms of plans, this has made her feel as if she is on very shaky ground. Pacey never gets serious with anyone, he has secrets, some major, some just plain personal, so keeping his distance makes things easier. He also doesn’t know where he will wind up, he has been in America for a long time, but could still end up back in the UK for grad school. The thing is, he can’t resist giving Mackenzie an offer, to be her rebound, so she can move on from Sanders. When Mackenzie accepts his offer and these two decide to go on some dates, they become more involved in one another’s lives than they has ever planned. As stressful and serious incidents occur in both their lives, both Pacey and Mackenzie begin to depend more on one another and their connection. As both of them try to manage changes to their lives that effect their futures, they also start to realize how much they want and need each other to feel complete.

This is my first book by Carrie Ann Ryan and what a treat. It was a different change of pace from the darker and grittier books I’ve been reading lately, and I very much enjoyed this! My Rebound is the second book in the On My Own series, which focuses on a group of eight college friends and their relationships with each other. My Rebound is the story of Mackenzie, who has just broken up with her longtime boyfriend after discovering him cheating, and Pacey, who seems to have not gotten serious with anyone.
Pacey and Mackenzie are friends, and Pacey offers to serve as her “rebound” to help her move on from what happened. What starts off as friends testing the waters, takes a turn for the romantic. However, both of them have a number of complications in their lives. Mackenzie is having problems with one of her professors and placement she needs and Pacey with his family. I very much enjoyed reading about Mackenzie and Pacey – this was a sweet romance and I can’t wait to read the next installment in the series. I should also note that although there was a lot mentioned from the first book, I hadn’t actually read that yet and had no problem keeping up or following along. Planning to read My First Glance next!
I received an Advanced Reader Copy and have voluntarily left an honest review.
I truly loved Mackenzie and Pacey’s story. Pacey was a favorite of mine since My First Glance and he didn’t disappoint. I went through so many emotions in this book. You will definitely need tissues. The chemistry between them was off the charts hot, even as they tried to fight it off. Carrie Ann Always gives us those real life issues to deal with in her stories and this is something I never would have guessed. It had me so invested, and was so relatable. Such a great series. I can’t wait for Miles & Nessa next.
Loving these roommates. Pacey may be my favorite in this series. He and Mackenzie we’re just so perfect for each other with their lists and plans, etc . My heart ached a little for Pacey throughout this story. He deserved a HEA as did she. The college struggles, juggling relationships just brought back so many memories. Looking forward to the next story.
