“I couldn’t put this book down!” –A Book Lover’s Emporium Book BlogI’ve met the greatest guy ever.Noah Walsh is handsome as sin. He’s sweet and smart and successful and sexy–all the best adjectives beginning with “S.” My six-year-old daughter worships the ground he walks on ever since he fashioned her smiley face pancakes out of bananas and blueberries. Oh yeah, and he can cook. The only … blueberries. Oh yeah, and he can cook.
The only problem?
I dumped this great guy a decade ago, right after I wrecked his life.
And boy, this man holds a grudge.
This is Book 1 of the Perfect Guy series, but can be read as a stand alone book.

I adore feel-good second chance romances, and this book is just that, with clever writing and wonderful characters I found myself rooting for. I totally recommend it!
It was refreshing to expose the problems that disabled people face when socializing with able bodied people. Both wrong headed at times, we cannot look only at others for solutions to our problems, but ourselves as well. A good read!
Just not my cup of tea
This was a feel good rom-com about 2 soul mates who make their way back to each other after years of wondering and heart ache.
What a great book! Wonderful characters, real life problems and solutions.
I’m almost sorry that I didn’t wait to read this. It would be a perfect beach read.
Way too long for the story.
This goes back and forth in 10 years ago and today. 10 years ago her mother is dieing of cancer and her med student fiance gets in an accident and loses both legs. She is a medical wooos long before this happens. But, it is all just to much for her and she walks away from him to be (unknowingly to him) with her mother. Today her dad unwittingly gets engaged to her exes mother. This is the week they spend in his cabin (nobody tells her or his mom that it’s him) and how they work it all out. Could have been a good story if it wasn’t draggggggggggged out in so much unneeded detail cause you can figure out the old issue right away, so only the current week is actually needed for the story.
not quite what I was expecting from the title (which is good) fun to read.
This book takes you on a very emotional journey. Both characters had made mistakes in their past and broke each other’s heart. The book was very layered and as more details came out about the past, I could feel more and more of the character’s pain. Even though this was not a light read, it was interesting and kept my interest.
It’s hard to write this without giving spoilers but I’m gonna do my best because if this is the first Annabelle Costa story you read you deserve to take the journey with the same emotion and surprise that I did when I read my first Costa book. She has a unique take on romance stories that I can’t get enough of.
This story is really heart-rending. Bailey and Noah fall deeply in love in college and commit to each other. Then disaster strikes sending them both into a tailspin. Bailey is young (21) and she doesn’t know how to deal with all the devastating things that are happening around her, so she makes a choice that both she and Noah regret for a very long time.
Boy, it’s uncomfortable for the first half of this book and my heart goes out to Bailey. She begins this story as the villain, but seeing things from her point of view puts a different spin on it and I have real sympathy for her. How do you repent when apologies will never be enough? Then I watch Noah, and witnessing him navigate his daily struggles presents a whole other painful scenario parallel to Bailey’s. There must be a special place in heaven for Noah. The accuracy and realism with which both of these characters’ dilemmas are painted adds depth to an already moving story.
I really can’t find anything to complain about with this story. The prose is good, the dialogue is good, the characters are lovable, and the journey they take is phenomenal. Ms. Costa is one of my favorite romance writers. If you like an entertaining yet bittersweet tale with unique characters and an HEA then you should like this one. I thought it was pretty special.
Swoony, wonderful romance!
This book is pretty good. But Bailey is very indecisive and not strict about her daughter Lily.
Lily is a sweet little thing. But very stubborn. I liked her inputs. The book was a lot more funnier because od her.
Noah is very handsome and considerate. I really liked his behaviour.
Bailey did a terrible thing in the past and I don’t know if I could get past what she has done. I really cannot understand the pressure she was under. But that is not the way to treat a person you are supposedly in love with.
I liked how the book was mysterious as we don’t get to know what happened between Noah and Bailey in the past till the middle of the book.
I received a copy od this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Keep the tissues handy, just in case. I found this to be a very emotional read and more than a bit of a roller-coaster. I’m a sucker for a second chance. This book has the added distinction of also being enemies to lovers, because when these two were still foolish kids it all got messed up badly. The angst and drama were exactly right to make my reality-TV-loving heart sigh in happiness. I loved watching Bailey and Noah work through all their negative emotions about their history so that they could come full circle. And Lily was a little scene-stealer. She might have been my favorite part of the book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Hidden Gems Books.
4.5 STARS!!!
This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I enjoyed it a lot. It’s a sweet second chance at romance read with a little bit of drama and characters that you will love and have you frustrated at the same time. I absolutely loved Noah and I hated what he went through, however his struggles never too away from what an amazing character he was. Bailey was frustrating at times but I understood the pressure she was going through even if she went about things in the wrong way. I disliked Theo from the moment he let Lily down and I’m glad Bailey didn’t falter in her decision in what and who she wanted. This will not be my last book from this author and I think this one will be a great read for readers that enjoy a great second chance romance.
I got to the end and I wanted the story to go on and on and on. This is so good. This is the first book I have read from this author and I know it will not be the last. I am so impressed by the realistic style of writing that it made it so easy to identify with our lead female character Bailey. She is a single mother of a six-year-old, Lily. The way Bailey abstractly thinks about her daughter is so comical, it was hard not to laugh. Lily had some great one liner as well. Our lead male character Noah, is a loving, kind, sensitive person. He has been through a difficult trauma in his life and has come through the other end intact. The romance between Bailey and Noah is over ten years in the making. Ten years ago, Bailey and Noah met at college. They were soul mates. But life threw them some heavy curve balls and they broke up. Ten years later, Bailey’s dad is engaged to Noah’s mother. The all get together for a week at Noah’s cabin by the lake and the tension is sky high. What ever happened in the past is not forgotten and they all have to deal with it and it is not pretty. The author writes about the emotional turmoil of Bailey, Lily, Baileys father, Noah and his mother in a very realistic down to earth way. Very Believable. I really loved reading this book and I highly recommend it. I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book via Hidden Gems and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Fell into this book and didn’t want to climb back out – loved it!
Bailey regrets breaking up with Noah 10 years ago after he had surgery to amputate his legs that were damaged in a car accident. Bailey was immature, but she was only 22 years old and also dealing with her mother going through breast cancer for the fourth time and not winning this time and she was squeamish around hospitals and blood. Noah has hated her and she’s been beating herself up about it ever since. Now his mom is marrying her dad and they go away to his cabin for the week for family bonding. Bailey’s 6 years old daughter Lily loves him, but he acts Lily age when he burns her food and treats her like dirt. I understand his anger, but at 33 years old he acted very immature. Bailey is barely scraping by and dealing Lily’s dead beat father. Still they can’t fight the attraction between them. There plenty of funny and sexy moments in this second chance romance.
I love this author and her original take on romance. Annabelle Costa is an automatic buy for me and she came through with another fantastic read!
A feel good second chance romance with superb writing and amazing characters!
Noah and Bailey were dating in college and madly in love. Tragedy strikes and things painfully fall apart.
They meet again when their parents are getting married and they will be spending a weekend together in a cabin. Bailey is now divorced with a child.
I found myself relating with Bailey (one time a single mom myself, regretting some of the decisions I made in my youth). Even with her poor choices and the hurt she caused Noah, you understand why she did what she did. She’s likable and I love her sense of humor.
Noah was SUPER sexy, masculine, smart, kind—the entire package. I loved everything about him. Noah will forever be one of my favorite book boyfriends.
This is not only a great second chance romance but a nice spin on enemies to lovers that will leave you in love with both Noah and Bailey. One of my favorite reads of 2018! Highly recommend.
