Nothing beats a good “fake” relationship story and Iris Morland always delivers a sweet, feel good romance with a HEA. This book is no exception. Arriving to be in her first movie Lucy is hoping for a big break but her starring role ends up not what she expects it to be. Hoping to catch the eye of her famous costar, Carter offers to act as her fake boyfriend to make him jealous. Carter is not looking for a relationship but Lucy catches his attention and he must find a away to convince her to take a chance on love, with him.
Sweetly sexy, emotionally thrilling, action packed and engaging romance filled with witty banter, family drama and lots of undeniable passion… was a great way to spend a few uninterrupted hours of relaxation and entertainment.
A light-hearted contemporary romance, this story brings out the fragile nature of fame and the way in which a single moment can turn the game around. Lucy is a bubbly character, best described as dynamite in a small package, whilst Carter is a somewhat overgrown schoolboy, still given to teasing the girls. The story is cute and generally well written, although I felt at times that the bad language went a little over the top. As the book evolved, both Lucy and Carter had to face up to reality and it was debatable whether they would ever come to their senses. Although this book is part of a series and characters from previous novels appear in this one too, it is nevertheless a standalone and comes to a happy conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

The storyline was well written and the characters were so well developed which made this book a very enjoyable read! I always look forward to reading more from this author!
My One and Only is the fourth book in the Youngers series, part of the Love Everlasting world. Lucy is hoping this acting job will open up new opportunities, and it should, knowing the lead male is super famous, and someone she’s been crushing on. Carter knows only baseball, but when an injury sidelined him, he’s helping produce Lucy’s film. While neither are expecting it, soon a fake relationship will help both Lucy and Carter, but when real emotions are involved, can they sort out the lies to pave their future?
Oh my goodness, I was completely captivated by this book. I really enjoyed Lucy and Carter’s romance. Lucy was refreshing in that she was both a little sassy at times, but also really sweet and innocent, stubborn, and believed in love. She had a few flaws, but that just helped make her a little bit more relatable. Carter was confident, confused about his future, stubborn, but had a surprising romantic streak. Their relationship was fun, a little confusing at times with who wanted what, but overall, I loved that it kind of started off as a school-aged crush, of pulling hair and getting each other so frustrated, you could only kiss! There’s definitely a lot of drama in this book, but I was flipping pages and didn’t realize how late it got while I was reading until I finished it! Even though there was talk of LA and famous people, there was still a small town feel, too! I really enjoyed this addition to the series and I loved reading Lucy’s romance!
I enjoyed Carter and Lucy’s romance. When Lucy first meets Carter, things do not go very well. She more or less is irritated by him in every way, whereas he is very intrigued and enjoys goading her. When he finds out she has a crush on Hayden, someone he despises, he comes up with a fake-relationship plan to get back at him. And, as we all know, fake-relationships always turn around on the two pretending.
Hayden was an all out pretentious pain in the bum. I really liked Carter and that fact that there was more to him than someone who enjoyed poking the bear. I liked Lucy, but her back and forth indecisiveness, at times, was a bit annoying and juvenile. Carter and Lucy had great chemistry and I LOVED their banter, especially when he called her a brat while they were being intimate! It felt fun and flirty and real. It was great to see them find their HEA.
I absolutely, thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved Lucy, and of course, I really loved Carter. Their attraction was strong and passionate, but both had issues to sort out before they could accept those feelings as real. The story and the characters were full of wonderful layers. What a great read.
I volunteered to review an arc of this book, and because I enjoyed it so much I had to buy it.
I really enjoyed reading My One and Only: The Youngers Book 4 by Iris Morland. Lucy is my favorite Younger! She is a struggling actress who gets the lead actress role in a Indie movie filmed on Hazel Island and then finds out the actor who plays opposite her is her secret crush. When Lucy meets Carter an injured famous baseball player who is overseeing the filming she assumes the worst about him. I loved Lucy’s and Carter’s interactions and the interplay between the two characters in this book. I highly recommend reading it. I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review of it.
She knew her script by heart, until love came along and threw her off the game. Morland knows how to reach a heart. My One and Only is a sweet blend of Hollywood fantasy and stone cold reality. Lucy and Carter are experts at living the dream, but reality has a way of cutting through the bull and forcing you down to earth. Can they survive the fall? A true original.
I really enjoyed this story. Two flawed people meet and instantly clash. I loved the heart and emotion in this story. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it did feel just slightly rushed.
Lucy is going to work in a film with her crush for more than a year, famous actor Hayden. But when she mets Carter, baseball player benched for a shoulder injury, the chemistry is powerful. Can Lucy and Carte have a chance of love and happiness when they seem to fight all the time and they have personals issues to work ? A powerful love story
I really enjoyed Cater & Lucy’s book. From their first meeting to the very last page, their banter & actions kept me wanting more.
I enjoyed reading this story!
It is a witty & emotional story.
Lucy, is an actress. Finally starring in
her first film. She’s worked long & hard,
to get to this point.
Carter, is a famous baseball pitcher,
in Seattle. He severely injured his
rotor cuff. Carter’s lost. All he knows
is baseball.
Lucy & Carter, met on the set of her
movie. It didn’t go to well. They immediately rubbed each other
the wrong way.
Hayden, a famous actor, that Lucy has been crushing on, will play her lead.
Carter & Hayden, strongly dislike
each other. And poor Lucy, gets stuck
in the middle of these, selfish fools!
The emotions, the humor & their attraction pulled me in, wanting to know what happens next!!
I loved reading Lucy and Carter’s story! The author created a wonderful set of characters in this book, all very real and easy to identify with. It is a book I couldn’t down and you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend it!!
There are some authors one reads that it’s impossible to put their books down once started. Iris Morland is one of those authors for me!
This book is well written with a great storyline. I love the main characters Carter and Lucy. Their story is turbulent, but ends with a sweet HEA! This is a standalone book but it is so worth reading the whole series. I look forward to reading more about the Younger siblings in the future!!

I’m not a fan of the fake relationship but, I love Iris Morland’s Love Everlasting series and could not resist reading this book. From the first few pages, you immediately know what is going to happen between Lucy and Carter. Their antagonistic reaction to each other covers the sparks. Then, they “act” like a couple to create jealousy in Hayden, Lucy’s crush for the last year after a chance meeting. What bothers me about the whole thing is Lucy’s constant ignorance of her own feelings towards Carter is a bit too much. How many times does it really take for you to realize the chemistry? And, they have it in spades. It is a hot and spicey time on Hazel Island that leaves Lucy struggling and Carter lost in his own drama that make you want to throttle the two of them until they realize what it is within their reach. A very good read.
