Meryn has saved another person. Of course Meryn would be the only one able to handle a near feral Magnus. Serenity’s got a pretty cool trick. I am in awe of Meryn’s ability to figure things out. Meryn is quite possibly the smartest person around. This is certainly going to be interesting.
Worth the wait!
This is another great book in the series. I laughed, cried and loved in equal measure as with all of the books before. The sign of a wonderful book is the inability to put it down until the end. My one and only is one of those books. I eagerly await the next book from a fabulous author.
Love this series!
Loved it, love this series
Micha, Era’s witch and the team’s Casanova has found his mate in Serenity, a fae witch healer. Who defied the witch council at Stone Keep and has come to offer her help in caring for the sick shifter children.
Serenity ‘s heritage makes her a talented diagnostician. She is able to identify Bethy’s shadow and bring Magnus back. All she can do for the infected is offer comfort. A cure is in sight, but time is running out.
Loved Micha and Serenity. Some new friends are made. The learn more of what is going on and a glimpse of who the puppet master is.
Can’t wait for the next book. Looks like their next stop is to the Fae.
I love this series she has a way of making you want to keep turning the page. The characters are fun and almost makes you want to be there with them. Many thanks to the author and I can’t wait for the next one.
Where do I start? I had to read this book twice, then let it sink in, before I could do my review.
Damn was this book awesome. Lets get a few things up and going…
We are searching for those who have been orchestrating this madness we have found ourselves in. As we learned so far, in Noctem Falls – things have happened that we know was no good – but wow – are we in for a few surprises.
With our last book our Vampire Prince was ill and we had Gavriel as the Prince – that was also and amazing book – I had to reread that one as well.
Okay we were at a point in time with our Prince being ill and the Portals from the Fae no longer being able to open.
And we are cleaning house at this moment – with Meryn in tow – by now we realized that Meryn is the main character – not to put the rest down but she thinks outside of the “normal views”. She thinks differently and her mate, and Ryuu (love this man) will kill anyone who hurts her. Wait basically many more will kill for her. On this little walk – we get into an interesting meeting – okay I cried (sneaky author).
Serenity is a healer at Storm Keep. The Fae Queen “enacts” the one protocol that will enable Serenity to enter the Fae portal to Noctem Falls. Once she gets there – she meets up with Kendrick and her mate Micah.
In this book we get so many answers to many questions – even Elizabeth & Gavriel. We get some news about our Prince Magnus as well. Ohhhh not to forget the illness.
What I love about Micah was the way he had with the ladies. He had sweet names for all the ladies, but for Serenity he could only call – His one and only, he never called anyone those sweet words.
But our sweet Micah came with a few secrets of his own. And boy-oh-boy, did he sweep some rugs under some big wigs feet. And boy-oh-boy, said big wig (Kendrick) could only return the favor by revealing his true identity. This has far reaching consequences for our circle of friends and family. Well I guess you gonna have to read about that little dinner all in this book.
But Micah also reveal a secret about the twins to Kendrick – guess that little gem will be in the book as well.
There were so many things in this book – Meryn has an encounter with some kind of demon and they had a “conversation”.
Well then Stefan’s brother Cristo comes and “smells” Meryn – remember Stefan spoke about knowing Meryn’s scent but not knowing from where – well guess what. Cristo’s reaction is so unexpected that you want to get into this book and shake him for some answers.
Ms. Alder just did it again. She got us through one thing and twisted this whole thing up and now we are on our way to – Eire Danu!!! Well done Alanea – I was so sad to finish this book (I went through so many emotions, laugh, cry, wanting to hunt you down to ask you how!!!) But it was an AWESOME Journey. Thank you so much.
Love, love, love this author!
I have read all of them but start at first one or you will be confusrd
I love this series, everyone should join the “Meryn” world.

Several mothers have nightmares of there sons, with the mates looking or calling them. It then ends in death. So Aiden and Colton’s mothers went to Elder Rowan Airgead to cast a spell that will bring the unit warriors their mates.

Title: My One and Only
Series: Bewitched & Bewildered
Author: Alanea Alder
Designation: Book 10 of Series, Full-Length, **Can Be Read As Standalone But Recommend Reading Books In Order of Release, No Cliffhanger #paranormalromance #fantasy #shifters #vampires #fae #witches #sprites
My Rating: Five Delightfully Entertaining Stars*****
**Each book of the Bewitched and Bewildered series features a different couple finding love along with their very own happy ending and can technically be read as a standalone. However, there are recurring characters, an underlying interconnected conflict, and carryover plot threads that play a major part in all the books, therefore to avoid spoilers, I highly recommend reading the books sequentially.
OMG! I loved, loved, loved My One and Only! Alder’s books are like super crack for paranormal romance junkies! I can see it now: Room in a church basement, a circle of chairs, a group of grim faces, I stand and say, “Hello, my name is Judy and I’m an Alanea Alder paranormal romance addict!” lol… All joking aside, Alder’s books really are addictive. They’re like potato chips; you can’t stop with just one! This is the tenth book of the series and each story gets better and better! I’ll probably suffer symptoms of serious withdrawal while waiting for Book Eleven! Who am I kidding? I dying for the next book now! lol… I love unique paranormal romance, addicted to danger, action, adventure & suspense, completely smitten with sexy, alpha heroes, adore sassy, courageous heroines, and there’s nothing I enjoy more than a few mind-bending plot twists along with a generous infusion of laugh-out-loud humor, but when I can get it all in one exceptionally well-crafted and beautifully written book, I’m in absolute heaven! And that’s exactly what Alanea Alder delivered – AGAIN – in My One and Only, the tenth full-length paranormal romance in her riveting and highly imaginative Bewitched & Bewildered Series. Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! Was it perfect? No, but it was perfect for me. There were a few minor boo-boos missed in the final editing/proofreading process, but nothing that distracted me from the story. Would I recommend it? You bet, and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain explicit language, some violence, and steamy, dreamy sex. And now that I’ve read the first ten books, I feel like I have a better overall grasp of the entire series, and I must say, I’m in total awe of Alanea Alder! When it comes to food, I’m very much a meat and potatoes girl, and as strange as it may sound, I relate my tastes in food to my preferences in reading, meaning I prefer books I can really sink my teeth into. You know, stories with substance, storylines that will engage my imagination as well as my mind and at the same time, challenge my intellect. And that’s exactly what Alanea Alder has done with the Bewitched and Bewildered Series. Simply put, it’s BLOODY BRILLIANT!!! This is, without a single doubt, one of the most imaginative, unique, and extraordinarily well-planned, created, and crafted series I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading, and I’m not blowing smoke, folks! No stone is left unturned and no plot thread forgotten! If it’s in the story, you better believe it’s important and Alder will address it at some point in the series, which is another reason I highly encourage readers to read the books in order of their release. I will say it again; I am simply in awe os Alanea Alder! Will I read this author again? OMG yes, which is probably the best recommendation I can give! As a matter of fact, after completing the first book of this series, I immediately raced back to Amazon and purchased the remaining nine books and signed up for her newsletter, which speaks volumes as to how much I enjoyed this author’s work! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! I was glued to my chair, white-knuckling my ereader, my heart fluttering wildly in my chest as the pages flew as quickly as the time!
The first five books of the series take place in shifter pillar city Lycaonia, but the series takes a bit of a turn in Book 6 when Unit Commander Aiden McKenzie and his firecracker mate Meryn leave Lycaonia to visit vampire pillar city Noctem Falls. Naturally, they were accompanied by Meryn’s squire Sei Ryuu, of course, Felix the sprite, along with former Noctem Falls resident Elizabeth Monroe and her mate Gavriel Ambrosios. In Book 8, they’re joined by more familiar faces from Lycaonia, Colton and his mate Rheia, and Kendrick and his mate Anne. Aiden, Meryn, Ryuu, Felix, Beth, Gavriel, Colton, Rheia, Kendrick, and Anne are all recurring characters readers have gotten to know in the previous books of the series and always add so much to each story. The way I understand it, the first five books featured the unit warriors of pillar city Lycaonia finding their mates, the next five (Books 6 thru 10) focused on the unit warriors of Noctem Falls finding theirs, the next five will be in Eire Danu(the Fae pillar city), and the final 5 books will be centered around the unit warriors of Storm Keep(the witch pillar city). There will be a total of 20 books in the series, but it would suit me just fine if Alder kept on going after 20, and as of this date, May 29, 2018, the first ten books have already been published. In Book 6, a new cast of intriguing characters is added to join our favorites from Lycaonia, but the primary couple in My One and Only is the handsome jokester and ladies’ man, unit warrior witch Micah Sageson, and beautiful, selfless, and very skilled head of the Water Temple, half witch/half fae Serenity Meadowsweet. I was immediately smitten with the playful, flirty Micah when he was first introduced in Book 6, but there’s so much more to Micah than meets the eye. Micah is also a man with secrets and once again, no spoilers from me but wait until you find out who he really is! And Serenity was absolutely precious, so loyal, so kind, so humble, and so giving, but also strong and smart and definitely able to hold her own with Micah. They’re absolutely perfect together. I’ll never think of the game Twister again without thinking of Micah and Serenity. This is another story that will break your heart. I sobbed like a baby, so yeah, you’ll need at least two boxes of tissues – AGAIN! Sigh… So dreamy! And naturally, Meryn ‘the menace’ along with her two newly adopted twin ‘baby Keelans’ and Felix the sprite provide loads of laughter and shenanigans galore! And we’re introduced to another character who will steal your heart – young vampire Pip Maverick! OMG, his story will absolutely shred your heart and soul. I snickered, snorted, chuckled, sniffled, snuffled, sobbed, and outright ugly cried through the entire story! I think my heart may have even stopped at least twice! This is another one that will tug on your heartstrings! But just a little warning, folks, don’t start this book unless you have plenty of time; you will not want to stop until you reach the last page. I should know; I’ve spent the last week binge-reading the entire series and falling asleep holding my Kindle every night! lol… Alanea Alder, you’re killing me! Please, please, please write faster! lol… If you enjoy perilous danger, intense drama, agonizing angst, pulse-pounding action, nail-biting suspense, side-splitting humor, heartwarming romance, and a few mind-blowing plot twists that you’ll never see coming, then this book is screaming your name. Extraordinary world building, exceptional character introduction/development, along with skilled plot progression make this series a fabulous, can’t-put-down read and definitely a series you will read over and over! Thanks for the recommendation Fran Zoch!
Love to the power of 10
I keep re-reading this book over and over again
Love this series. It’s great that all the characters are in every book.
Loved this book!
Alanea Alder does it again in the 10th book of the Bewitched and Bewildered series, MY ONE AND ONLY. Micah and his mate Serenity are a wonderful couple, and their book answers many questions but also leaves us wondering what the future in the series will bring. Almost all of the characters from other books are seen, and Meryn continues to be the heart of the series. A great read and highly recommended.
I am going to break this up a bit.
Meryn:
Meryn continues to be the lynchpin/anchor to the series and it seems that fate is still weaving threads around her. As usual she provides us with laughs while she gets to the meat of certain matters and leaves everyone slapping their foreheads with duh moments.
Micah “Casanova” Sageson:
His mate has arrived in Noctem Falls and we get to see a side of him he has not shown before. He divulges a secret that opens the door to a more intriguing glimpse into the night the king and queen disappeared.
Serenity Meadowsweet:
Half Witch, half Fae, a powerful healer and the head of the Water Temple goes against the council’s orders and heads to Noctem Falls. Once there she meets her mate and solves one of the issues that has everyone worried. Her selfless act to give the children a chance could prove more than Micah is willing to give and sends our band of friends into a tailspin.
We meet Pip, a new character, that helps them figure out yet another piece to the growing puzzle; who started the virus, the opening of the “front” door, and the darkness that has invaded the moral fiber of some powerful citizens all fall into place.
Aiden continues to be a strong supporter for Meryn, Ryuu learns yet another level of devotion to his charge and everyone pitches in as needed and adds to this newest five star read.
I missed having Felix make an appearance but I can live with that, flow and storyline were great, a few tearful moments and a few bombshell revelations will have you flipping pages to see what happens next. Perfectly sets up the next leg of the journey.
