I’m so in love with this story Joe & Lauren have such a wonderful chemistry. Even though she knows she shouldn’t she can’t stop loving or staying away from Joe, especially since his parents are on the scene thinking she is their granddaughter. I like that this time it’s Joe who makes the first move & coming to her house. I really want them to be together properly & forever, Im so desperate & can’t wait for the next part.

When Lauren takes up lying, she goes BIG! Her white lie takes on a life of its own and Joe is of no assistance. It’ll be interesting to see how it goes over, potentially blowing up. The chemistry still continues to smolder between them despite the vast age difference. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Santa and his bad little elf have a fun Christmas Eve
Lauren receives a call from Joe, or at least it is his number that shows up, when she is in class. When she phones back instead of Joe it is Ensign Delacruz telling her that Joe is in the hospital as he was wounded and has gone through several surgeries. All she knows is that she needs to get to him. She phones her mother who picks her up and drives Lauren the two hours to the military hospital in Portsmouth, NH. There Lauren finally sees Joe, after telling a lie that she is his daughter but they just found out about it, and it is Delacruz that gets her into Joe’s room. Joe is unconscious and looks small with all the tubes and monitors hooked up to him. Lauren just knows deep down that she needs to be there with him so her mother drives home making Lauren promise she will phone and wait to be picked up and driven back. The night is long, uncomfortable and also scary as Joe’s heart stops at one point. Early the next morning Lauren is awoken from sleeping in the chair in Joe’s room by his voice. What she finds is not only Joe awake, and looking pissed, but also his parents, who she thinks believe someone told she was Joe’s newly discovered daughter.
A few weeks later and Lauren has lost a bet with Allegra and has to now wear an Elf costume for 24 hours, plus she is volunteering at the school’s Winter Wonderland with Santa. This year the school lost their Santa when the teacher retired so a new Santa arrives in the form of Joe. It seems his parents taught at the school years ago so Joe actually had a history in the town. What happens after when his parents take all of Santa’s helpers out for pancakes at the local diner is absolutely hilarious. Let’s just say that Lauren is going to get her own costume and Joe might do the same……………..with a very special Christmas Eve delivery.
This is a well written book in the series that has a full range of emotions. It seems that no matter what she tells herself that she just cannot stay away from Joe, even if the family “curse” may continue with her.
I enjoyed every written word of this book. The author gave us well developed and engaging characters that have plenty of chemistry. Easy flowing storyline made it a great read.

Lauren broke all of her rules. She watched Pearl Harbor on tv when she knew Joe was away serving somewhere. Her mom finds her crying and she does another thing she doesn’t normal do and asks about her dad that died in the military. Her mom wanting to know what brought it on so she gave her the edited version of her relationship with Joe. Not after that she receives a call on Joe’s phone from a stranger telling her that he has been hurt and that he thought she should know. She calls her mom and tells her that she needs to get to Joe and why. She lies in order to get in to see him and when she gets in she whispers to him the he was supposed to come back safe. What will Joe say about her being there? Will this have her pushing him away?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn’t put it down. This its the third part of the series so you need to read these in order. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Lauren Blake had all sorts of rules she followed, spoken and unspoken. One of them involved not watching Pearl Harbor on TV when she had a man in the military to worry about. But she broke that rule. So when her mom found her crying, she asked about her dad who had loved the military and died for it. Then her mom asked why she was crying and she had to edit what she said about her own military guy. And a week later, she saw the missed call – from Joe’s number!
Lauren called Joe to make sure he was okay, then to ask him not to contact her again. She couldn’t take this stress and worry. But someone named Ensign Victor Delacruz answered and asked, “Are you Lauren Blake?” Her world started to spin a little until he said, “Ms. Blake, I served with Lieutenant Gallagher.” Served? Was this how the Navy SEALs notified of a death? It was somewhat of a relief when he told her Joe had been wounded – not died — during his last mission and was transferred to the military hospital in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He had been through several surgeries, he said! Doctors were optimistic about his chances! But why were they calling her and not his family? He told her Joe’s parents had not called them back yet. And since he had been a witness when Joe changed his Will and left her a house, he knew she was important to him.
At the hospital, they wouldn’t let her see Joe. She called Joe’s number again and the Ensign answered, coming right away to see her when she said they wouldn’t let her see Joe. She asked him to tell her something about Joe, and he told her how Joe had saved his life and that Joe had said how happy he was to have found Lauren. And then he took her up to see Joe, despite the rules. Left alone with Joe, wires and tubes coming out of him, she whispered, “You were supposed to come back safe.”
This was a very emotional part of the story that absolutely touches the reader’s heart. I kept wanting to put my arms around Lauren and tell her Joe would be okay. The writing was excellent, and the characters very realistic. Don’t miss reading this one. It will touch you in all the right places.
I really loved this latest episode of My Silver Fox Neighbor. There is some angst, but it resolves… for the most part. I;m glad that Lauren(Laurie) has figured out how she feels about Joe, even though it took a lot for it to click with her.
Lauren is pretty sure that she is on Santa’s naughty list. As a bad girl, what can she expect to get for Christmas? Lauren knew she shouldn’t get involved with someone in the military, but she did and what she feared happened. She starts bargaining and making promises that she will stay away from Joe if he lives, but the universe has other plans.
This was a short, but sweet book with lots of feels. Be prepared that this story may make you happy or sad or both! Loved the characters and I’m excited to read what happens next! I definitely recommend reading this story.

Lauren was at school pining for Joe. She was so worried about him, then her phone rings and it is Joe’s number. It wasn’t joe who answered the phone, joe had been injured and she dashes to see him.
I enjoyed this instalment of the Silver Fox Neighbour. Series. The story continues and we learn a lot more about both Lauren and Joe. The realization of the depth of their feeling makes you want to cheer them on. The explicit sex scene worked well into the storyline and it ended in a place that sets it up for the next segment. I can hardly wait.
