It was interesting. But not moving. Good for Jane to explain she is dead inside. Because it shows. And truthfully I don’t blame her a bit. Her description of her dad, surprised she ever found love. Such a shame
Jane tells of a childhood haunted by suicide and lack of love. She made mistakes which she owns, but her intentions were good. She has tried to make this a better world but she has had many inner battles to fight.
The author elected to gloss over her involvement behind the scenes of the Vietnam War, and as described by some as these facts came to light, “she aided and abetted the enemy.” Given the climate of having an undeclared but deadly war, it was politically expedient to not press charges. While she is undoubtedly a proven actress, she let her …
I’ve actually read this book twice, once when it first came out and now again. And again, I’m struck by Jane’s candor. Her childhood was traumatic. She constantly strived for her father’s approval but he only seemed able to access his emotions on screen. Her mother committed suicide and Jane suffered guilt feeling she’d allowed her father’s …
Cleared up false issues about her connection with Vietnam war.
Some sections dragged.
Great read!
Gave me insight into Jane Fonda’s actions during the Vietnam war.
Super read.

Great read
Jane Fonda was and continues to be an authentic person who writes with the goal of helping the reader to full understand the entire story of how she grew up and the woman she was becoming . She is honest about how she lived, the things she missed in life with her family of origin. And owns up to costs that weren’t expected and she still claims the …
I didn’t know much about Jane Fonda or why she lived like she did or said what she said. I knew people either loved her or hated her. After reading her book, I feel I have a much better understanding of her life. It’s also inspirational and leaves you with lessons you can learn from. Really good writing style.

She is an amazing woman. Great to read her words.
If you like Jane Fonda you will love reading her story. Her openess and honesty are refreshing. She’s a class act.
To long
Jane has a strong, direct voice that encourages women to face their own foibles with courage and self-respect. The book is interesting from a ‘star’ perspective, but is fabulous from the perspective of a woman willing to work on herself and live on a higher plane.
Jane is very fonda herself.
Got her view point of view about Vietnam !
