Wowzers, that was a hot read and I’ve come to the conclusion that we all need a Tristan in our lives! lol This is a very steamy story and although it does involve some kinky elements, it’s very well written.
Tristan has always admired Minerva but she was married to his friend so he never tried anything with her. Now she’s a widow and to his surprise, she lets him know that she would like him to teach her what passion truly is! He’s not sure she’ll enjoy what he has in mind but she’s willing to try anything and she trusts him, so he shows her a world that she never knew existed. Love and passion with a little extra added to it….

My review :
When a lady seeks the attention of the man she admired from afar for so long …
Oh my!
I still need to fan myself, it was such a sensually scorching read.
I read this fast paced novella in between visiting my patients at their home, no wonder they asked me if I was okay.
For sure, it was hot, but I never found it vulgar, it was a voluptuous introduction to the pleasure of the flesh by a libertine to a woman who had been neglected or I might say failed by her late husband.
Minerva is so much more than the lady she was raised to be, but her passion had been bridled by convention and her own unfaithful husband, like many reserving his sins to misses of easy virtue.
Once she settles to her new path, she won’t step back, letting go of her initial shyness, ready to unleash her inner sensuality when stimulated by the right man.
Tristan has lived the free life of a peer, enjoying his profligate way as much as possible. Thus when the widow of his best friend confront him with secrets he knew when she had been left unaware of them, it changes his view of her, or more true, it reawakens feelings he buried as it had no right to lust after his friend’s wife.
They embark in a luscious journey where both will find unexpected answers, she her true blood-and-flesh inner nature and he there is one and only woman to fulfill all his phantasms.
5 stars for this tale of seduction.
I was granted an advance copy by the author, I also purchased my own.
Here is my true and unbiased opinion.

Starring Sir Tristian King and Minerva Covington, Countess of Harlowe.
Omigosh these two were freaken hot. I love that Minerva and Tristian were friends before they got together… and their friendship turns to heated attraction because of a kiss beneath a mistletoe.
Minerva is hurt and angry when she finds out that her dead husband had a mistress throughout their marriage… especially since he treated her like a porcelain doll instead of a woman with sexual needs. So she decides to go after the man who has starred in her fantasies lately, her friend, Tristan. I absolutely loved Minerva… gotta love a heroine who goes after what she wants. And what she wants is for Tristan to show her what she’s been missing in bed-sport… and carriage-sport… and against-the-wall-sport.
Tristan is a strong alpha hero who has certain needs when it comes to sexual congress. He’s a little unsure if he wants to take his relationship with Minerva beyond friendship. But when he crosses that line and Minerva exceeds his wild imaginations… he’s surprised with the the depth of his feelings for her. Omigosh, Tristan was beyond yummy!! Total swoon-worthy hero!!
Together, these two were on fire!! I loved their road to HEA, even though I wanted to hit Tristan over the head sometimes. This was a fantastic story!! Good job, Amy Rose Bennett!!

Novella with a sizzling touch!
I previously read Amy Rose Bennett’s novella ‘ My Lady of Misrule’ in the ‘Seduced Under the Mistletoe collection in 2018. This novella had me from the first page since I love stories set during the Regency era. In fact, it’s one of my favorite periods. This author never disappoints me! It tells the story of friends who became lovers! Grab a mug of coffee, relax and lose yourself in the first story of the Wicked Winter Nights series, because it’s very hot!
Two years ago, Minerva became a widow, and needs the help of Tristan, her best friend. Both have feelings for each other, no wonder, that sparks flare a wild passion when they meet again. Slowly but surely, their old friendship slowly evolved into a beautiful passion that will unite them forever. I really love this romance! It has light kinky elements but nothing to offend readers.
Loved this story from beginning to end. Two stubborn individuals who let time keep them apart to try to come back together…is beautiful. Amy Rose kept me wanting and praying they would push passed their past to find their true future.
3.5 Stars
My Lady of Misrule is the first book in the Wicked Winter Nights series. Minerva, Widowed Countess of Harlow, discovers that her husband had not been faithful during their marriage. When she questions her husband’s best friend, Sir Tristan King, who she has known for years, she begins to feel more than friendship with him. Curious she starts to investigate Tristan and his previous relationships. Tristan worries that he might be imagining her interest and is afraid that he will ruin their friendship if his feelings are not reciprocated. They agree to a tryst on Twelfth Night, but will that be enough, or will they want more from each other? This was a short book and easily read in one setting. The characters were interesting but were not able to be developed much, due to the shortness of the book. It would have been nice if more of the book would have been dedicated to interactions between the two main characters. It would have added more depth to their relationship and more interesting for readers.

Be prepared for a steamy romance that will hold you captive until the end. Minerva and Tristan had known each other a long time. In fact she had been married to his best friend who had perished over two years ago. Always ready to be there for her, Tristan was surprised when she made an early call and asked to speak to him. Tristan had always hidden feelings for her and she had been attracted to him too. After she revealed the reason for her call, it seemed the air begin to sizzle between them. A slow build to a romance that would ignite them as if they were meant for each other. But were they? Why did Tristan stay away when all Minerva wanted was to see him? Do not miss this story that will melt your heart as you turn the last page. Oh yes, you might want to have a fan or cold cloth handy! This was part of the Seduced Under the Mistletoe Anthology.
My Lady of Misrule” by Amy Rose Bennett is a tale of one “Sir Tristan King…and the Lady Lady Minerva Harlow…who have known each since childhood. Now a widow…after her husband’s demise…she cannot help but to seek out her old childhood friend…as the loneliness of widowhood begin to plague her. As she is not necessarily looking for either another husband …or a lover for that matter…a warm companion would be most welcome. Little did she realize that the naughtiness of Twelfth Night and the magic of Christmastime along with an erotic evening of Misrule frolics…would make Sir Tristan ascend to level of both. Much enjoyed and Highly Recommended. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Copy of this book.

He’s just like her husband
Tristan was best friends with David, David had a mistress. And a wife. Minerva.
I didn’t like that in many ways, he was exactly like her dead husband. She deserved a better man.

You will love reading this tale.
Minerva and Tristan’s story was off the charts good. I love how strong the characters were one knew what she wanted and went for it and the other was a true alpha. Tristan is a bit slow but he does come around and you will love reading all about it. The twists and turns made for a great tale. Put a roaring fire on (TV works) and enjoy! I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Sir Tristan King rolled over in bed, groaning at having done too much of all he shouldn’t have been doing at his age. His valet knocked on the door and Tristan told him that anything other than the house was burning down would not rouse him from the bed. Sullivan announced that The Countess of Harlow had been waiting for him for several hours now. Minerva Covington, Lady Harlow, was the widow of his dearly departed friend, David, and he had known her for years. Why was she here? He glanced in a mirror to check his dreadful appearance — aside from a swollen purple eyelid, his cheek was badly bruised, his lip was split, and his good eye was more bloodshot than blue. So he accepted his valet’s offer to shave him in the hope that would improve him somewhat.
Minerva was distressed and Tristan worried about her. As she told him she had at last gone through David’s papers and found a letter, Tristan knew what she was going to say. It was from David’s mistress. She asked if he knew about “Delilah”? The despair in her voice broke his heart. According to the letter, he had given her a townhouse, jewels, and an allowance! Their arrangement had lasted for several years. She thanked him for listening and being honest about knowing, and she returned to her carriage. Watching her made his body stir with longing. A longing, which had always been there, but he’d never given himself permission to feel. But if she were to take him as a lover, it was bound to ruin their friendship and he couldn’t bear such an idea. And she most likely was not the kind of woman who would take a lover anyway. But a mistletoe kiss and a Twelfth Night tryst leave him wanting more. Will their attraction allow them to pursue love?
I liked the idea that Minerva could trust Tristan to teach her what her selfish husband had held back. His proclivities were not my “cup of tea”, but to each their own, as they say. The characters were well written and the plot flowed well. Grab your copy and enjoy their story.
Book one of a new series called Wicked Winter Nights, a well written short story. Widowed countess Minerva, Lady Harlow finds out something about David her deceased husband and goes to Sir Tristan King to find out if it was true. Minerva and Tristan have feelings for each other but they will have a lot to overcome before they get their happy ending. I want to read the next book. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to spend time in and out of the bedchamber with a rakehell? Wonder no longer. Amy Rose Bennett has tastefully, maturely captured the amorous and erotic sexual exploration between rakehell Sir Tristan King and innocent widow Minerva Covington, Countess of Harlow. It was wonderful reading how Minerva’s thirst for sexual knowledge unfolded. Minerva had no idea how deep her feelings were for Tristan until during Christmastide he kissed her under the mistletoe. Tristan had always thought Minerva was attractive but she was his best friend David’s wife. Now two years later after his passing Tristan’s eyes saw Minerva in a new light. The only question on his mind was ‘would his sexual proclivities be too much for her?’ Thankfully Minerva was eager to learn and was a willing woman in Tristan’s trusted hands. He was smitten. An excellent romantic read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Firstly, if you’re bothered by light spankings and hot sex, this book is not gonna be one you want to read.
Lady Minerva Harlow seeks help from a mutual friend, Sir Tristan King of her’s and her late husbands after discovering a secret her husband kept from her. She always thought she was enough for her husband, although she always felt she was missing something, but upon discovering a letter in her husbands belongings, she now wished to know what she had been missing and what she was lacking that caused her husband to turn to someone else.
Tristan knew of her husband’s secret but wasn’t aware that Minerva didn’t know and when she confronts him he is not sure what to tell her, other than the truth. And that truth was he didn’t know why her husband went elsewhere when Minerva was such a beauty with a very desirable form.
After a scorching kiss under the mistletoe, Minerva plots to get Tristan into her bed as she is sure he can show her what she had been missing throughout her marriage. Tristan, though he wants Minerva, is afraid that if Minerva discovers his own secret it will ruin their friendship. But what of Minerva’s own secret?

Loved the story. Minerva, a widow who finds out her husband had a mistress all during the time of their marriage, has decided she should think about a lover and the person she wants is her close friend Tristan . The book is very erotic in the sexual encounters between Tristan and Minerva, it is well written and entertaining. I loved the story and would highly recommend it as a great read if you enjoy hot stories.
ONE TANTALIZING WHIRLWIND!!!
Crap on toast! Bennett stacks the layers, gathers the parcels and masters the passage, progressing forward, busting this baby wide open. One jaw dropping, mind blowing, thrilling piece to grace the space and expand the genre. Bennett gives us one refreshing spin of the damsel in distress and white knight to the rescue that will leave you reeling. Carefully trudging through the trials and tribulations, along with a slew of plot twists and sleek turns, grounding in it’s strength and awe inspiring in it’s depth. The personalities are well matched and balanced with enough flaws for diversity. The scenes are strikingly sharp with such colorful descriptions it gives you a full understanding and realism that flow smoothly. Awesome job Bennett, thanks for sharing this incredible jewel with us.
Minerva, the Dowager Countess of Harlow, has been widowed for two years when she learns a disturbing secret her late husband kept to her and turns to her longtime friend Sir Tristan King for support. Tristan can no longer deny his feelings for Minerva that he has long batted down out of respect for her being his friend’s wife. But a mistletoe kiss and a Twelfth Night tryst only leave him wanting more. He’s afraid to ruin his friendship with Minerva, but begins to wonder if perhaps they could have so much more.
These two were scorching together. It was definitely a steamy read, but very well done and it was lovely to see Minerva come into her own after being neglected and stifled by her husband. I loved seeing ex-soldier Tristan settling down and finding peace with the woman he secretly wanted for years.

I received an ARC of this book from Amy Rose Bennett. My Lady of Misrule is the story of Minerva Harlow and Tristan King. Yes it’s steamy. Yes, its got some crude bold language. But, no, it’s not vulgar. When it got too much for me, I skimmed the words until I could bear it. The story actually accentuates the fact that some women, not just back then, but even today, are unaware of what goes on between a couple, and that it’s okay for a woman to have sexual desires. Minerva, calls herself a naive ninny, having been in a boring marital relationship with her now deceased husband, and is now learning for herself how to fulfill her needs and wants, and discovers her wilder side. Kudos to Ms. Bennett for her work.
