This was an incredible story. While it was on the shorter end of the “book-length spectrum,” there was still depth. There were so many different layers. The story faced many social problems in our society today. Such as disabilities and the rich-poor dynamic. It was a bit of an instant love story, but the characters learned a lot more about each other before they made it official. I liked all the transitions and events. They all led up to an incredible end. It wasn’t very predictable. I didn’t expect Aunt Patty’s confession. It was a great YA love story just like the rest of Kylie’s novels.
This story follows Rylee and Aiden. (I love dual povs!) They meet at the winter formal. Rylee is a junior and Aiden is a senior. They dance for four songs then Rylee goes to freshen up. At the same time, Aiden leaves with his friends to stop a fistfight from happening. When Aiden figures out that Rylee is actually super, super-rich, he believes that he is way out of her league. He lives on the poor side of town. While he and his disabled sister go to look at the lights in the richer section, Rylee and Aiden bump into each other. Rylee’s aunt insults Aiden’s sister and his family and Aiden rushes out as fast as he can. Will they get their happy ending?

A sweet Christmas read – with a message!
Heartwarming and sweet! This book has a lot of feels within its pages. The characters were endearing, even Aunt Patty. Not only was it a wonderful story, it actually makes you stop and think of the physically and mentally disabled people and what they go through. You never know what someone is going through as evident with Aunt Patty. She had me shedding a tear or three at the end. Rylee and Aiden were the epitome of high school first (and sometimes only) love. Enjoyable read!
Despite being such a short, quick read, this story packs quite an emotional punch. Sweet, heart-warming, with likeable and relatable characters, this well-written story also provides an interesting twist to the Cinderella theme and makes me want to read more by this author.
A very sweet story. Aiden is coerced into going to a dance and he meets a girl, Rylee. He doesn’t get her phone number.
Rylee’s family is very wealthy and she gets pretty much her heart’s desire. Aiden’s family is basically on the other side of the tracks. His Dad died of a brain aneurysm when he was 10. He has a little sister who is precious to his family, with special needs. His mother works hard to provide for the family. Aiden helps out where he can.
Kylie Key weaves a beautiful story that touches the heart.

-‘IF I HAD A WAVERING belief about life being unfair and unjust and nobody looking out for me and my family, in one extraordinary day, it was all erased.’-
Written in alternating points of view, this very fast-paced, sweet, clean teen romance has a hint of the Brit in it (non-British people will pick up on the expressions) and it’s a very heartwarming story. It’s novella length and a quick read, so ideal for when you’ve just got a limited time to read. It’s priced accordingly too, so it won’t break the bank. A fun, spunky romance with a few interesting twists and turns, that is suitable for all ages. Despite its short length it’s a complete story and the reader doesn’t feel as though anything is missing. I really liked it and I recommend it!
-‘My heart bursts and sings with hope. Maybe Aiden was forced to depart quickly, perhaps he didn’t mean to abandon me. And most of all, perhaps that forehead kiss wasn’t meaningless.’-
My High School Christmas Boyfriend is a sweet, romantic story that has a wonderful message. This may be geared towards a younger age group, but it is so well written it bridges any gap. The characters have depth and are engaging. The storyline is original with an emphasis on forgiveness and acceptance. Great afternoon read! I received a free copy of this book and have chosen to give my honest opinion.
A wonderful and beautiful story of unconditional love, young love and forgiveness. This is a very touching story. The characters are each rich with personality. This definitely is more than a simple young love story. It sparks long kept secrets to be revealed and forgiveness and understanding to be given. Of course, there is also the Christmas Boyfriend!
An amazing and sweet story!
For a shorter length story, “My High School Christmas Boyfriend” had an impressive amount of depth, character and dropped a neat twist in at the end.
Aiden and Rylee meet at a school dance and it’s mutual attraction, then Aiden gets dragged away by his friends without getting the chance to ask Rylee for her number. When he finds out she’s from the rich side of town, while he’s from the poor side, Aiden gets that he hasn’t a hope. But Rylee disagrees. Enter a grumpy great aunt who seems determined to put barriers between them, and things aren’t looking so good.
This is a sweet and clean story. I found Aiden and Rylee to be delightful characters and well portrayed. It’s the kind of story I’d happily sit down and read again.
This was a sweet reverse Cinderella romance. A short romance that really tugs your heart.
Aiden don’t do dances. He has a lot going on in his life to care about silly stuff. Helping her mother with her ten year sister and supporting them after his father death. But when he meets a beautiful girl at Winter Dance little he knows that his world is going to be turned upside down in a good way. Christmas’s spirit all over again.
