Sometimes, the right decision isn’t the easiest one to makeTrish Sylvester knows her family and when they accept a week long stay at a rustic dude ranch, she is concerned- especially since it’s at her ex’s home.Aaron is overjoyed at the opening of his family’s guest ranch, until he learns their first guest is his ex-girlfriend, her parents–and a fiancé.And that isn’t the only surprise.
Jacquie Biggar does it again! If you love second chance romances, you’re sure to love this story! Trish is a city girl from a corporate background, Aaron, a Texas rancher. Romantically involved for a time, family conflicts forced them to part. Now Trish, her parents, and her fiancé, are the first guests at the ranch Aaron owns along with his sibling—a place now opening as a dude/guest ranch.
Sparks fly right from the get-go, but there is plenty of trouble in the form of Trish’s slimy fiance (her father forced the arrangement) and her interfering parents. There’s also a surprise or two tucked into the plot, including how some of these characters end up. But one thing you can count on is the HEA at the end. It’s a sweet journey getting there with plenty of ups and downs, but the conclusion will leave you with a fuzzy feeling and a sloppy grin. I love everything Jacquie Biggar writes, but she really hit a home run with this charmer. Of special note: although this is the third book in a series, it easily stands on its own as well.
it was amazing
An absolute MUST READ. It is an incredible second chance/secret baby romance. I could actually feel the sexual tension whenever Trish and Aaron were together. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Please read My Girl by Jacquie Biggar.
I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was a wonderful conclusion to this series. I couldn’t wait to read Aaron’s story after some intriguing glimpses from the last book, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”. I read all three of these back to back. I loved how the stories where written.
This series falls the Shaughnessy siblings. All three of the siblings appeared in all of the stories. The two characters that married into the family appeared here as well. The plot here was beautifully written. Miscommunication and Trish’s trying to appease her parents interfered with these two several years ago. Trish also reveals a secret that she has kept hidden from Aaron. Can Aaron and Trish reclaim what they once had?
I adored the multiple POV format that the story was written in. The entire series was written in a multiple POV format actually. The siblings really felt real to me this way, almost like they were human. The story was well written and flowed nicely. I was really sorry to see this one end as it was the end of the series.
If you love cowboys, horses and second chances, you will want to read this story. It is a clean romance that I would highly suggest to anyone. While you could just read this one, I would strongly urge to start with book one.
My Girl has everything to love in a novel: hunky and handsome cowboys with soft hearts, second chance romances, cute kids and some secrets and suspense thrown in. As Jacquie so aptly states in the Afterword, ranching and farming is a struggle these days. Many ranchers look to other ways to supplement their incomes and the Balmoral Ranch in Texas is starting up as a dude ranch, in addition to raising cattle and prize horses. You will fall in love with the Shaughnessy family. The two brothers and sister had a difficult childhood when their parents and grandfather died in an accident and they know the importance of keeping the family and ranch together. They are taking lots of chances and the dude ranch idea is one of them. The first guests are Trish, Aaron Shaughnessy’s ex-girlfriend and her parents and, ouch, her fiance. Aaron isn’t over Trish yet and doesn’t know why she left him. And Trish has lots of secrets. The secrets lead to suspense and drama as her father and fiance show their true purpose for coming to the ranch. I love good second-chance romances and Aaron and Trish will make your heart ache. But it all comes together for a lovely and heartwarming ending to the novel and the series
My Girl is a great addition to the Gambling Hearts series. Trish and Aaron make a great couple after the obstacles are removed from their path. There is some suspense in this book because it is obvious someone is out to sabotage the ranch’s success. If you enjoy well written, second chance romance with personable characters, do not miss this book!
A wonderful third book in the Gambling Hearts series. Aaron Shaughnessy, middle sibling, fell in love with Trish Sylvester several years ago. When a financial dispute caused hard feelings between Aaron and Trish’s father, Trish returned to Austin, Texas. When her family shows up at Balmoral, the Shaughnessy ranch, Aaron is shocked to see her and old feelings resurface. Will he get another chance to make things right with Trish? Aaron’s plans are for naught as Trish has arrived with her fiancé. When it is obvious that someone does not want the ranch to succeed, Aaron and his siblings Matt and Sophie will not quit…they will fight for their heritage. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)
