Oriana HunterI don’t trust many people, bikers included. Most especially, the bikers from the Concrete Angels Motorcycle Club. But when I’m abducted by my “best friend” to come work for them as a forensic accountant, I don’t have a lot of choice. Hey, at least I got them to sign a contract, and it comes with dental. All I have to do is find out who’s embezzling from them and I can go home. I have … home. I have far too many demons to be around anyone for very long. It would go a lot faster if I didn’t have a handsome cocky biker hanging around and being nice to me. The question is which folks are worse, those wearing the Concrete Angels’ cuts or the FBI jackets?
Scott Free
Oriana Hunter is the sexiest woman I’ve ever seen walk through the gates of the Concrete Angels’ compound, and she’s badass, through and through. But she doesn’t trust anyone, me especially, and I can recognize the signs of someone dealing with PTSD from my time in the Army. Turns out, she’s a former FBI agent who left the bureau after she was raped, and doesn’t trust bikers or men. Not that I blame her. I wouldn’t trust us either. But I know she’ll figure out our money leak, and quickly. She’s too smart not to. Which means I don’t have a lot of time to prove I’m not what she thinks and convince her to stay.

This is the first book in Siobhan Muir’s Concrete Angels MC series. They aren’t “white hats” but they aren’t completely black hats”. Can’t wait to see what happens next! I am sure Mrs. Muir will have some surprises up here sleeves for us.
What started out as an unexpected forced job, Oriana made the best of it. She was tasked with finding who was taking money from the Concrete Angels MC. In the process she meets some amazing people, especially Scott.
Scott helps her through her PTSD due to a very bad experience in her past.
What a great story this was, I loved the way Oriana is very strong under the circumstances, she resists Scott, but he really does help her heal by facing those who did her wrong. The storyline just flowed and the characters are so vivid, I just could not put the book down.
I absolutely love the title of this and the reasons behind it, the author lets us know at the end of the book, so make sure you read all the way to the end.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters are so three-dimensional and diverse. Great job by the author bringing them to life.
The heroine’s backstory was deep and difficult. It was dealt with in a sensitive and compassionate way by both the hero and the author. And I was so glad she got to face her abuser and stand up for herself.
Loved the hints of the paranormal sprinkled throughout the story. I really wish those characters and elements had been explored and explained a bit more. I’m ready for the next book in this series though. It’s off to a good start.
I don’t usually care for the MC trope. Not my thing. But I do like this author. She writes a good story so decided to give it a look. (Not to mention that cover! So worth looking at.) I found myself reading long into the night to finish. It grabbed me and held me hostage, just as Oriana was. Surprise! I liked it! It wasn’t the usual dark biker story with questionable behavior by hard cases and lots of sex. Oh they walked a thin line with the legalities of things, but overall, I found them quite likable. There was an interesting story here with action and suspense and just the right amount of romance for spice.
Scott Free (Isn’t that an interesting name?) was the “cocky biker” but I didn’t find him all that cocky. No more so than Joe Blow across the street. He had a few rough edges and lived in different world, but he was likable and even honorable in his own way.
Ariana was completely awesome! Strong and feisty. Damaged, but not broken. I loved how she got her pay back as well as finding a new home and family.
The Concrete Angels MC . . . They seem to be a bit different. I loved the surprises here. Some very interesting characters are emerging. So far mostly hints, but really? Micheal? Loki? Karma? We were left with a peek at the next story and “glory!” I really can’t wait to read more!
Oriana use to work as an FBI agent and she was raped. She has somethings to work through and I felt for her. Then her “best friend” took her to the biker’s because they need her help. She’s a tough chick and I laughed at some of the things she said. Then there’s Scott Free, a biker who wants Oriana for himself. He was good for her and he was so sweet to her. What happens between Oriana and Scott? Does she leave the biker’s when its time to go? You so need to get this book. It was a really good read.
I like a lot of the concepts explored in my Forever Cocky Biker Encounter and think they need to be explored in more books. However, I am not buying the concept of good bikers who will help a woman who has been raped. There are a lot of good one-liners. I can’t get around the biker thing.
