She was my first. My only. That part never changed. I ran from a life that should have been mine, joined the military, and became someone for the first time in my life. The memories of walking my girl down the aisle to another man still haunt me, though, all these years later. I should have fucking said something then. We both should have. A surprise attack on my platoon left me wounded and headed … surprise attack on my platoon left me wounded and headed back to an old reality. One where she was all I wanted.
Without her ex in the picture, I’m going full throttle. She’s a single mom, and her little one is as precious as she is.
They both should have been mine, and they will be.
My first love. My only love.
Mine.

Do you ever stop loving your “first” love? This is a well written story with characters that are very enjoyable to read about and the storyline itself is intriguing. This is a definite TBR or one-click buy for you today.
I love second chance romances, military men, and ones with young children. This book has all three of these plus even more. You would thijnk that after Autumn gets married to another man and Emmett joins the military, because neither of them would tell the other one that they love each other, communication would be key in their relationship. You would think that, but it does not happen, as they keep big secrets from each other. The question is can their relationship handle the couple big secrets that they have. I loved this book, and did not want to put it down. I voluntarily reviewed this advance copy, and I highly recommend it.
I love second chance romances and this was truly a fabulous one! The idea of finding your one true love again always gets to me and Weston’s ability to spin a wonderful tale never disappoints. I admire Emmett’s character for being the bigger/better man, even though he knew deep down Autumn was making a terrible mistake by marrying his best friend. He shows great strength in friendship and love. Just another slam dunk for Weston and a definite must read for anyone that loves not just second chance romances, but romance in general.
This is a must read. Emmett and Autumn were childhood friends and Emmett is love with her. Autumn is marrying his best friend and Emmett is walking her down the isle. He can’t watch her being married to someone else so he joins the Marines. He gets injured and sent home. When he gets home he finds that things are different. This story is beautifully written. I loved everything about it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book,
Military romance. First love. Second chance. Friends to lovers. What’s not to love?! Autumn and Emmett have grown up together. Be fore they can act on hidden feelings, someone else joins their group. Autumn marries someone else and they go their own ways for a number of years. But never fear, true love finds a way to bring them back together (along with a young girl). Love this story!
This was a fantastic book with one great storyline, My First Love By Weston Parker was truly a book with romance a touch of drama and love. A well written book that kept you hooked from the very beginning.
A childhood friendship they were inseparable he was almost part of her family, they had the same bedt friend and were always there for each other. When it’s time for her to walk down the aisle to their best friend that is when he knew he made a mistake he should be the one waiting at the alter not the one walking his heart right out of his life. I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it.
It’s broken record time; another winner from the house of Parker! Smexy, touching, a little humor, a little angst. Military hero, boss mama, awesome kid, ALL the feels! Oh, my heart!
This book really touched me. It made me experience all the feels that have been lacking in some of my other recent reads. I loved the characters and the strong personalities on even the smallest players. This book has a complete story and is so well written. I truly love Mr. Parker’s writing style. He brings out so much emotion in his readers and characters. Emmett is a man who walks away from his childhood love hoping to leave her with a better life married to his friend. Autumn was sad to see Emmett go yet happy to move on with her marriage. Ten years later, their lives brings them back into each other’s orbit.
I loved this book. The interaction and vivid imagery will bring you in and won’t let you go. I can’t wait to see if there are more books written in this world. I am leaving a voluntary review for an advanced copy of the book.

The first but not last time I read this
Autumn, a divorced single mom, has known Emmett, a retired marine, for what feels like her whole life. Missed opportunities lead to them not voicing their feelings when they ere younger. Now they get to see if their relationship can evolve from friends to lovers and more. Emmett and Autumn are an amazing couple and I absolutely loved their story. With plenty of drama, real life situations and steam, My first love is a definite read again.
Great second chance love. You won’t be disappointed. Emmett & Autumn we’re best friends, loved each other but were afraid to tell each other how they really felt about each other. She married their friend Jason. Emmett went to the military to get away from his family. 10 years later Emmett is back because he has been hurt bad in combat. Autumn sees it in the paper. Goes to see him. Lots of obstacles & truth reveals come out in order for them to have the shot they need. He’s always loved her. He should have married her years ago. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
A second chance love story that has all the feelings. Emmett and Autumn have been best friends pretty much their whole lives. After a disastrous marriage and 10 years in the military, they finally find their way back to one another. I went through every emotion on the spectrum. This book was beautifully written. I highly recommend My First Love.
Wow, This book is fantastic! What a great second chance romance. It’s an extremely entertaining and captivating story that hooked me from the beginning. You don’t want to miss this sweet and steamy read! I received an ARC for an honest review.
Autumn and Emmett had know each other most of their lives. They were neighbors, best friends and so much more. Somewhere along the way Jason Adams moved to town and became a part of their pack and in so doing, altered their relationship. Jason and Autumn dated in high school and the summer of graduation they married. Emmett was crushed. In order to deal with the pain, he joined the army to get away from seeing them together.
Ten years have passed and there has been no communication between them but not a day went by that Emmett didn’t think about her. During that time, Autumn and Jason divorced while Emmett was serving his country in Afghanistan. That’s when life took a sharp turn. Emmett was critically wounded. Because his injuries were life threatening, his brother asked that he be brought home to Raleigh. A front page article about his heroism alerted Autumn about his arrival and this is where the story really begins.
The book is filled with situations that are all to real, touching, and emotional and you will have a front row seat to see what their lives have entailed and about how they deal with the results. If you are like me, you will shed a tear or two, and find you heart so full you will want to send a thank you note to the author for presenting such a remarkable story about man and his journey through life. And somewhere along the way you will be reintroduced to his friends, family and others from his home town and the emotional journey will stay with you for a long time.
This is not a quick read…but it is a wonderful story filled with endearing characters and some might easily want to forget…and in the end a real five star winner. I received a reader copy and have already alerted my friends about this one. It’s a keeper.
Great second chance story reminding me of a different ending to Thomas Rhett’s video, Marry Me.
Awe Autumn and Emmett. How much time they could have had if only one of them spoke up sooner. I simultaneously love them and have my heart break for them because of the missed years. Loved it. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
I absolutely love second chance romance stories and this author really knows how to hook the reader in and keep them prisoner until the very last page is turned! The storyline was so beautifully written and the development of the characters were so spot on that I felt like I was watching from the same room as the character’s relationship evolved!
An excellent second chance romance that is so touching. Emmett and Autumn were best friends but kept their feelings a secret from each other. A wedding to someone else, the military, and feeling like a third wheel keeps these two apart for years. A well written storyline with fabulous characters that will keep you glued to this book. Weston Parker just keeps getting better with writing such amazing books. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Young Love, First Love, Love That Will Never Die
A Love Story to Last For all Time
Emmett found Autumn, his one true Love, when they were in grade school. He always put her happiness first, letting his best friend, Jason, marry her after graduation, because he believed Autumn loved Jason more than him.
Autumn wishes he would have spoken his true feelings, she had doubts about Jason’s fidelity from the beginning…
Emmett joins the Marines, to get away, to get out of Autumn’s life.
Ten long years later….
Autumn finally has enough of Jason’s various infidelities and divorces him. Just eight months later, Jason has become the non existent father to their daughter, Penelope. Autumn works with her father at his company.
Emmett is shot in the chest in Afghanistan, and airlifted back to the states in a coma. He is brought to the local hospital in his home town at the request of his brother, Paul.
Emmett’s picture in the local paper brings it all home for Autumn. She has to see him, she wants to see him, she must see him……
Can true love ever die?
ARC Received from the Author for a Voluntary and Honest Review. Than you, Weston!
I also got the book with KU.
I have to say, this book made me very emotional when Autumn married Jason. I felt Emmett slipping away from her forever, even as he escorted her down the aisle and gave her hand to Jason. So sad….
Weston certainly knows how to write an emotional and very romantic book!
