By the New York Times bestselling author who “hilariously depicts modern dating” (Us Weekly), My Favorite Half-Night Stand is a laugh-out-loud romp through online dating and its many, many fails. Millie Morris has always been one of the guys. A UC Santa Barbara professor, she’s a female-serial-killer expert who’s quick with a deflection joke and terrible at getting personal. And she, just like … terrible at getting personal. And she, just like her four best guy friends and fellow professors, is perma-single.
So when a routine university function turns into a black tie gala, Mille and her circle make a pact that they’ll join an online dating service to find plus-ones for the event. There’s only one hitch: after making the pact, Millie and one of the guys, Reid Campbell, secretly spend the sexiest half-night of their lives together, but mutually decide the friendship would be better off strictly platonic.
But online dating isn’t for the faint of heart. While the guys are inundated with quality matches and potential dates, Millie’s first profile attempt garners nothing but dick pics and creepers. Enter “Catherine”–Millie’s fictional profile persona, in whose make-believe shoes she can be more vulnerable than she’s ever been in person. Soon “Catherine” and Reid strike up a digital pen-pal-ship…but Millie can’t resist temptation in real life, either. Soon, Millie will have to face her worst fear–intimacy–or risk losing her best friend, forever.
Perfect for fans of Roxanne and She’s the Man, Christina Lauren’s latest romantic comedy is full of mistaken identities, hijinks, and a classic love story with a modern twist. Funny and fresh, you’ll want to swipe right on My Favorite Half-Night Stand.

So this is going to probably come as a complete shock to everyone but this is my first Christina Lauren book. I know right !!! How is this even possible. All I can tell you, is that I’m positive it will not be my last in fact I have another one from them sitting on my bookshelf right now waiting for me to dive into.
My Favorite Half-Night Stand was a quirky, fun friends to lovers romance that to me really reflects dating today. This book grabbed my attention early on with the dynamic between all the characters. Millie’s relationship with these four guys is one that I enjoyed reading. Just a group of friends who get along and I loved that Millie was the only girl.
So when Reid and Millie cross that “invisible line” I of course was dying to see how this would all play out. With them being the closest it was clear that this would be a tricky situation. Once they all decided to join a dating app things get a bit more blurry. And when Millie becomes “Catherine” well then things become very messy. The line’s been crossed and it’s anyway’s guess how things are going to turn out but it clear this won’t be easy.
I found myself invested in these two, and at times felt myself talking out loud to these characters. Particularly Millie, who in my opinion just kept digging herself a hole that I wasn’t sure she would be able to get out of.
And Reid, OMG I loved him. I’ll admit there were times where I too was screaming internally at him saying look what is right in front of you. Mind you I didn’t blame him for his actions during the course of this book. It was more Millie for me that had me wanting to jump in and shake the girl.
There were also times that I could feel Millie’s emotions as though they were my own. It’s never easy being that friend who’s feelings become more. You never know if those feelings are reciprocated and then worse you worry how that will affect the friendship you so dearly cherish.
Overall this book was fun, it had it’s fair share of heart pounding moments and I loved the dynamics with all of the characters. I’m not sure if this is a series or not but I would love to see books with the rest of the guys from this story. While this was the first Christina Lauren book I’ve read this certainly won’t be the last.
There’s just some authors you can always count on to deliver the goods, you know? These are the authors you 1-click without even reading the blurb, because you just KNOW it’s going to be worth every penny. For me, Christina Lauren is such an author. (Or, authors, since it’s really 2…but I digress…)
First of all, I ADORE a good friends-to-lovers romance, and Reid and Millie are the best of friends when the book starts. As I was reading, I really believed that these two people would do anything for each other. The unconditional friend love was there right from the start, and the sexy stuff that happened later on didn’t seem too far-fetched, either. Their romance was totally believable.
Second of all, this book is FUNNY. Y’all know how much I hate it when a book promises to be funny and isn’t. This one DELIVERS. Some of the conversations (especially the text conversations) between Millie and her group of guy friends made me snort laugh.
The overall portrayal of modern dating was pretty hilarious, too. Made me pretty thankful that I’m an old married lady who isn’t trying to date right now. (Pretty sure I’d just chose to remain single if I wasn’t already married)
Now, did I get irritated with Reid for not realizing he was talking to Millie earlier in the story? Sure I did. But in his defense, up until that point, his relationship with Millie wasn’t the soul-baring kind, so I let go of my irritation and just sat back to enjoy the story. Did I get irritated with Millie for not admitting what she was up to earlier in the story? Sure I did. But, again, opening up wasn’t exactly Millie’s strong suit, so I let go of my irritation and just sat back to enjoy the story.
So, long-story-short, I suggest everyone download this one and start reading right away. Just sit back and enjoy the story, folks (it’s a theme…get it?). I can guarantee you’ll laugh until you snort.

As a criminology professor with a particular interest in female serial killers, Millie Morris’ dating life is in dire need of resuscitation. To be honest she’s more than happy spending countless hours towards research for her book deal, but an upcoming black tie gala at the university forces her to dissect her dating life.
Her first thought (and most easy option) is to ask one of her four best friends who also happen to be her co-workers. Like her they are all career driven professors, and more interested in reading the latest educational journal than trawling through dating apps. But not ones to shy away from a challenge they come up with an alcohol fuelled plan to create dating profiles and secure genuine potential love interests to take as their plus ones to the gala.
Although they are all firm friends Millie has always had the closest relationship with Reid. When she allows herself to, she can admit to the underlying sexual tension that escapes through the layers and layers of denial. It’s been a long time coming *wags eyebrows* but they eventually give into the low-key raging attraction between them. It’s the most intense experience she’s ever had, but thought of ruining her friendship with Reid is greater than the unknown of exploring things further, so they mutually agree to keep things platonic.
Maybe it’s because she’s the only female in the gang but Millie gets roped into creating an honest but interesting profiles for each of them. Officially she resents doing it, but unofficially it’s kinda fun. A by-product when it comes to her own profile is it starts to expose just how little she offers personally/emotionally in both her friends and relationships.
What starts as a simple idea quickly escalates into hilarious escapades and dating disasters. What should be a distraction from her attraction to Reid only serves to heighten it, and results in some actions that are far from friendly.
I absolutely adored the supporting cast and I’m secretly hoping this will develop into a series.
This year has seen me become a huge fan of Christina Lauren. They have pretty much monopolized my favourite reads shelf this year, and with this swipe right romance I image the same will be said by many others.
I couldn’t read this book fast enough! I found myself grinning and full of ALL. THE. FEELS. Millie was quirky and very interesting. She was friends with a bunch of guys and they all hung out but no one was attracted to her. Until Reid was. Their half-night together was completely unexpected and out of the ordinary for them but the chemistry between them was combustible! While they knew that couldn’t happen again, they went the online dating route. While Millie innocently created an account to try to be more herself without stating her name, she and Reid clicked online. He had no idea it was her but she tried to tell him without telling him. I was lost in this story and never wanted it to end! I enjoyed watching them move from friends to possibly more. I found myself laughing out loud at times, cringing and then hoping! I don’t want to ruin this amazing story for you so I’ll stop talking and just let you go ahead and one-click it. Seriously. Don’t miss this read!
I’d never read Christina Lauren before. I started this book before work and came home to devour the rest. It is so good! I may read too many reverse harem books, since when I read the synopsis talking about Millie & her four male friends…well, it certainly wasn’t that kind of book. It is a fantastic, funny, touching, at times steamy tale of the journey from just friends with one specific friend, Reid, to being so much more with him. But it is also the story of someone who doesn’t share of herself emotionally with her nearest & dearest learning to open up and share. Yes, Millie & Reed get their hea but I gotta warn ya, ya might want some tissues handy. There will be tears, but there will also be smiles. I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
4.25-4.5 STARS
What a fun, sexy, friends-to-lovers story, explored through the lens of internet dating! Once again, the combined writing team that is Christina Lauren demonstrates the authors’ ability to inject a new and exciting element to a tried and true theme.
3.5-3.75 stars. This was a pretty good book. My favorite half-night stand is Reid and Millie’s book. Millie and Reid are friends and colleagues, both professors at a university. They are part of a friend group with 3 other male professors that spend all their time together, with Millie being just another one of the guys. They are all single, so the friends decide to join an online dating website to find dates to a faculty party. One night, while drunk, Millie makes a move on Reid and they have a “half-night stand”, where they hook up, but don’t spend the night together. They both agree it was a one-time thing, and it came out of nowhere seemingly, as they had never thought of each other romantically before. They both enter the world of online dating, and Millie begins mistakenly “catfishing” Reid. Things get really complicated between them, fast. But they manage to work it all out between them and fall for each other.
As someone who didn’t love the last few Christina Lauren books, I did feel this book was an improvement. I do think it’s worth reading. It is a good story, has emotion and complicated characters with depth, as well as good writing. It is not a bad book at all. For me, though, what’s missing was chemistry. I wanted to feel more of a spark between Reid and Millie. I also wanted to see them actually together in a relationship before the epilogue. I did like Reid and Millie. They’re likable, easy to identify with characters. I do think that when the big conflict came to light, Reid was a bit rougher on Millie than I wanted. I felt pretty bad for her. I thought if he loved her and understood why she was the way she was, he should be a little more understanding. Still, I did enjoy the book. It had some serious moments, some emotional ones, and some lighter, funny ones.
Overall, I do think this is a book worth reading. I just didn’t totally fall in love with it. Still, you should read it for yourself and see what you think. In the meantime, I will just keep holding out hope that Christina Lauren will write another sexy couple with good chemistry that I can really truly love. I need another Will and Hannah.

Up All Night w/ Books
I am a total lover of all books by Christina Lauren as well as the best friends to lovers trope. My Favorite Half Night Stand is another brilliant book by the duo. I will admit that at first I wanted nothing more than to toss the book aside because I could not get into it. However, I pushed through and became hooked.
Millie is platonic best friends with four guys she met through her ex. After one night of drinking, she has a sex thought about Reid and cannot help but wonder if she is attracted to him. Of course they have a one night stand. Well, I guess the term here is a half night stand. The question is though, what happens after that half night stand?
The chemistry between Millie and Reid is outstanding. I loved watching them navigate their new found feelings so to speak. When they sign up for a dating app to find dates, things get really interesting. I really enjoyed everything about the book. Christina Lauren did an outstanding job with the characters and everything in between. I cannot wait to read more from this duo.
My Favorite Half-Night Stand, written by Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings, who is better known as Christina Lauren, is a friends to lovers romantic comedy that has a hilarious take on the online dating scene. This is the first book by this author that I have read, and I was unable to put it down…read it in a day and a half.
Millie is a well-respected college professor, her field of study is female serial killers so she smart, right? Well, she may be book smart, but not so bright in her personal life. She experienced a major tragedy during her childhood which has resulted in her being emotionally stunted, not letting friends get to know the real Millie. Although Millie is flawed and did some unacceptable things I did like her, for me, it just made her character authentic. Her four best friends, all guys, Reid, Ed, Alex and Chris, are also professors at the same university. They are all cute somewhat geeky guys. I really love the relationship that they all share and felt that they all really care about one another. Reid and Millie share a special bond, best friends absolutely, and then there was that little misstep of that half night-stand. I definitely agree with Millie, Reid is both brilliant and beautiful.
The group needs to find dates for at the university’s formal event, with no prospects they turn to an online dating site. That’s when things get interesting. Profiles are written, with some get more attention than others and some getting unwanted attention, which had me cracking up. Millie and Reid get tangled up in the online dating scene which creates some fascinating complexities in their friendship. There is so much more I could write about that, but I wouldn’t want to ruin the fun of the read.
I loved the whole storyline of this book. These authors did a super job of inserting pop culture references throughout this well written well thought out book. Character development was expertly done, the characters growing and maturing throughout the book. Written from a dual point of view, which happens to be my favorite, the authors uniquely give the reader a glimpse of the innermost thoughts of these two very complex characters. In conclusion, My Favorite Half-Night Stand was a fun, sexy read with the perfect amount of angsts. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it.
***I kindly received an ARC of this book by way of NetGalley/publisher/author. I was not contacted, asked or required to leave a review to read this book. I received no compensation, financial or otherwise. This review is my honest opinion .***
4.5 Stars!
Millie Morris is a 29 yr. old woman who grew up in Seattle, and loves her job as a professor of criminology at UC Santa Barbara. She has four male colleagues that have become her best friends. They are all single and these wonderful men have become her tribe. Being together platonically had become their default. She’d become like on of the guys, and they were her chosen family.
They all have a work function coming up that they will need a plus one for. Their circle makes a pact to join an online dating site to find dates for the event. As the guys find matches, Millie has more trouble. She’s always been fun Millie who pretends she doesn’t have a past. When conversations got too deep, she’d be the one to change the subject. She’s bottled up, and isn’t good with feelings. Then she creates a fictional profile where she can be herself. She finds herself in the position to connect on a deeper level with a man she’s always felt an intense connection and chemistry with. A connection she’s never thought to explore until now. She’s more vulnerable than she’s ever been. She wasn’t good at talking about emotions in person, but online she could relax and be more open. She can discuss her fears and feelings, and be honest and authentic. She could unload and be anonymous.
I don’t want to say too much more about this story or the guy because it’s best going in blind, but I really enjoyed this friends to lovers romance by this amazing writing duo! It’s about friendship, love, being yourself, and being brave with your heart. Taking chances and going after what you want. It’s another fabulous book by Christina Lauren!
Millie Morris is an UC Santa Barbara professor, single and best friends with 4 other professors who all happen to be guys. They treat her like one of the guys too. When the gang realizes that they each have to have a date for a formal work event, they all decide to join a dating app. On the same night, Millie and her best friend, Reid Campbell, end up hooking up. Reid has always been drawn to Millie but she has a problem letting people in to her intimate thoughts and that really bothers Reid. After a spectacular night together, they decide to just stay friends because they don’t want to lose their friendship.
Millie sets up everyone’s profiles on their accounts but didn’t set up a real profile for herself. Millie ends up getting garbage replies back so she decides to set up a real, honest profile but with using her middle name. Imagine her surprise when she is matched up with Reid. These two set about having great conversations because Millie can hide behind her unknown account. Reid is enjoying conversing with “Cat” and another woman, Daisy, which makes Millie jealous. Even though these two agreed to keep their relationship platonic, they hook up again.
As feelings deepen, Millie must decide if she can open up for real and give Reid what he really wants from her before he finds out that she really is Cat. Of course best laid plans don’t always work out and it takes a huge leap of faith from both Millie and Reid before these two can get their happy ending.
I just loved this story. Because of things from Millie’s past she has a problem being open with people but Reid just wants to bring those walls down and love her. Millie just wants to be loved but is just afraid. This was a fun story, a little “You’ve Got Mail”ness to it. I loved the texts back and forth between everyone….it added a fun, quirkiness to the story. Overall, I highly recommend this story.
Witty, sexy, and so incredibly entertaining! My Favorite Half-Night Stand was crazy, awesome laugh-out-loud fun with the perfect amount of emotion mixed in. So fantastic! I never wanted it to end!
Reid and Millie have been best friends for years along with three other nerds. They are all rather clueless when it comes to dating. When an important event is on the horizon that will require them to each have a plus one, as a group they decide to try a dating app. However, one half night with Reid, a poorly written profile, and a bit of jealousy, pushes Millie into making a decision that may very well cause the downfall of the closest relationships she’s ever had.
I love a story that entails emails or texts. Add in a bit of secrecy over who the other person sending the messages is and I’m totally invested. This was filled with so much goodness. Lots of humor between the characters along with a bit of angst and I was a happy reader.
Millie was closed off and unable to share the things that really mattered. As she realizes she wants Reid in her life in a different way, she also learns she’s going to have to make some changes that will require quite a bit of work on her part. She was fun and witty and knew just how to handle her group of friends but lost when it came time to open up to them.
Reid was smart and dedicated to his job. He didn’t initially desire Millie but when the opportunity to spend the night with her presented itself he took it. He never chased Millie, which was kind of a disappointment to me, but followed her lead. He was definitely a beta hero but I liked him all the same.
The conclusion to this story was perfect for the situation and I loved seeing how Millie faced her issues and dealt with them. This is a fast paced read with a cast of characters that were so much fun. The steam level isn’t really high, in my opinion. The chemistry here seemed to be a bit lacking but the relationship struggle and the hilarity of the group more than made up for it.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and Pocket Books. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Final Score – 5 Stars!
This book blew me away with it’s own unique brand of cheekiness, wacky, sensual, LOL moments I had such a difficult time putting it down, but alas a girl needs sleep – and sadly this girl needed some!
Millie and Reid … I’m not sure who I was frustrated more with! I wanted to bash them against the other’s head quite frankly speaking. I could see the writing on the wall that these two “got” each other in a way no one else would. Their emotional journey towards that is what solidified their endearing qualities to me. I totally ship and heart Millie and Reid.
I loved the slow, in depth build up of getting to know these characters, flaws and all. I do hope that Ed and/or Alex gets their own book. I would love that!
This is a definite must read if you love reading about the ups and downs of the dating scene & trying to find the one – as well as the comedy of trial and error that takes place along the way. Christina Lauren has written a gem that leaves in you both laughter and tears but with good feelings afterward that will surely have you running to tell your closest girlfriends about.
Millie Morris is just one of the guys- literally. She’s 1 of 5 friends who work as professors at UC Santa Barbara and meet for meals, video games and hanging out.\
Millie is emotionally distance and private.
Even her best friend of the group, Reid only know surface facts about her – even after their friendship ends up with some half-night benefits.
All 5 friends decide to join an online dating service to find a date for a university gala.
When Millie’s 1st profile attempt only attracts the creeps, she decides to create a second one using her middle name with an artsy photo that hides her face.
The dating app. matches her second profile with Reid and their “anonymous” pen paling allows her to open up to him about her personal life, fears, and regrets.
Reid begins to fall for her
Millie throws out some subtle hints via direct message assuming Reid will figure out it’s her, but when he doesn’t and their online chatting also allows her to gain a better understanding of her friend, she lets it go on too long to confess.
Any other info. Is a spoiler and it’s more fun to read it for yourself.
The story is told from both Millie and Reid’s POV with the friend’s group chat conversation interspersed.
With the writing duo’s sense of humor, unique take on romance and smart witty banter, My Favorite Half-Night Stand is a page-turner just like their previous books.
If you never got around to reading Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating, read that one too.
“Is it possible to be a highly functioning adult with a successful career, awesome friends and a lovely family, and still be a Level Five Hot Mess? I may be living proof.”
OMG! You guys…Millie Morris is ALL OF US! I absolutely ADORED the heroine of Christina Lauren’s latest standalone romance, My Favorite Half-Night Stand. It was cute, quirky, swoony, and downright hilarious! I couldn’t get enough! This delightful and charming friends-to-lovers romantic romp was everything that I could have ever wanted in a world class romantic comedy. I expect nothing less from the ladies of Christina Lauren. The writing was superb. The banter was immensely enjoyable. The storyline was unique, playful, and just an absolute joy to read! The minute I finished, I wanted to experience that kind of joy all over again.
Not only did I adore our heroine of the book, but our hero, Reid Campbell was such a great character! Their hot and cold journey from friends to lovers put a smile on my face and butterflies in my stomach. Alex, Chris, and Ed make up the rest of their tight knit academic crew and trust me, I could write a few paragraphs more on these secondary characters alone, but I won’t waste your time because you need to hurry up and DEVOUR THIS BOOK! Every character is a scene stealer and I’m not mad at all about it. If you only plan to read one romantic comedy this year (please don’t limit yourself like that), make sure it’s this comedic gem right here!
I have read everything that these ladies have written. I love their writing, the flow of their words, the banter they use, and the way it all consumes me while I’m reading. Lately, though, I feel like they are getting away from the reason I fell in love with them in the first place. My first encounter with their work was shortly after Beautiful Bastard was released. The story had swoon, feels, steam, and so much chemistry between Bennett and Chloe that you were swimming in it. I have not felt the things that that book made me feel since they ended that series and the Wild Seasons series. Yes I love their work, yes I still read the books, but no I do not love them anywhere near what I did with those books. I keep reading hoping they get back to that.
This book was enjoyable, and I loved Reid. I liked the dynamic of their circle of friends. I loved the premise of the story, but I feel like it missed the mark on several aspects. I don’t think that Reid and Millie had any chemistry. I hated that she kept lying to someone who supposedly meant so much to her – good reason or not. When his other friends started helping her that really made me feel bad for Reid, he didn’t deserve it. I do think that it was over an ok book. I just wanted and expected more from these ladies.
If you are looking for a book that will make you laugh, then this is one you might want to read. I don’t think I have laughed so hard in quite some time.
Millie and Reid are best friends but are attracted to each other, or at least in an inebriated stated Millie realizes how hot Reid is and starts looking at him in a new light. Reid has always had a thing for Millie but has never acted on those feelings. But this isn’t where the fun really starts…no it starts when they decide they need to find dates to a university function and try their hand at online dating. I should back up and give you some insight into this small group of 5 – Reid, Millie, Chris, Alex, and Ed. They all teach at a CA university and have a close-knit friendship. None of them have a steady so they all sign up for a dating website called IRL. Millie decides that the guy’s profiles say nothing and writes a new one for each of them. However, her profile doesn’t say much and she gets all the weirdos responding to her profile. Unbeknownst to the guys, she creates a new profile for herself using her middle name as her online name and surprisingly (or maybe not) she matches 98% to Reid. At first she thinks that her first reply to him will clue him in that it is her with various references (because the profile picture isn’t going to do it) but of course he doesn’t pick up that it is here…hello, he’s a guy and while smart and intuitive, he is still a guy.
While most of the book is light and funny, it does get somewhat serious when Reid discovers that Millie is who he has been chatting with on IRL. I am sure you can imagine the fallout from that conversation. But is Millie willing to take the risk? Is she willing to open up to Reid about who she is and her background? You’ll have to read the book to find out those details.
I loved the format of the book as it flipped between Millie and Reid’s point of view. Millie has an obsession with serial killers and can be snarky when it comes to her circle of friends. There are group chats within the book which add their own element of humor. As I said before I laughed a LOT in this book and will have to seek out more of her books (once I read more of my TBR pile)
Christina Lauren has been on my TBR for awhile but this book is my first. I was drawn in by blurb and the concept.
Millie and Reid have been good friends for years. One half-night stand before their friend group decides to give online dating a try to find a date for a work gala definitely blurs the lines but they decide to keep their friendship and forget about the awkwardness. When Millie gets nothing but unpleasant experiences from her online matches, she decides to make a different profile that her friends don’t know about. As Catherine she gets matched with Reid. As Reid and Catherine get closer, so do Millie and Reid. The lines were blurred after their first half-night stand and now they can barely see them at all.
I love modern retellings of stories so I loved how this one was going to be a kind of blend of The Twelfth Night and Cyrano de Bergerac. I didn’t feel like this book lived up to what I thought it was going to be. Maybe that’s because I love those two stories or maybe it’s because I’ve built up this author duo a lot but I had to force myself to finish this book. I felt like while Millie and Reid were supposed to be best friends, I couldn’t really see why they were friends and it made Millie’s actions that much worse. I will definitely still try another book by Christina Lauren since I think this one just wasn’t for me.
*This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy*
Millie Morris loves her group of friends. They are the greatest guys she has ever known, who are all ridiculously smart, funny and they share the most uncomplicated of friendships. So when she and her BFF Reid cross the line of friendship to friends-who-have-seen-each-other-naked, uncomplicated might just be a memory that they both share…
Reid Campbell views Millie as one of his closest friends, but her aversion to ever showing anything deeper in the feelings department quickly derails them having anything more than their one half-night stand.
Moving on in friendship and deciding as a group to try their hands at online dating, the saga of Millie and Reid is just getting started… and their complex feelings are about to get in the way of the friendship they cherish so much…

My Favorite Half-Night Stand is another refreshing and incomparable story from the magnificent writing duo, Christina Lauren. Hilarious, heartfelt and highly entertaining, I fell in love with Reid, Millie and their devoted group of scholarly friends.
Millie is the lone woman and comic relief in her steadfast group of friends. While her tendency to be quick with a quip keeps her from getting too deep when people ask personal questions, she starts to realize that her failure to reveal her true feelings may be keeping her from the life, and love that she wants.
Reid has always put his work before anything else, much to the detriment of his personal life. When he and Millie spend the night together, it opens his eyes to the possibility of having something more with a woman who already means so much to him. But, when she keeps him at arms length, he follows her lead and moves on from the connection they shared.
The dilemma: Millie, Reid and the rest of the crew decide as a group to try online dating, but those pesky unresolved feelings between Mille and Reid are suddenly under a magnifying glass when the prospect of losing each other to a real life relationship is suddenly a very real possibility.
I absolutely loved this book!! From the effortless group friendship, to Millie and Reid’s journey to their well deserved HEA. I found myself at one moment laughing, and the next in tears throughout this one of a kind story.
Mille was such a great character, with her quirky love of all things female serial killer, to her realization of her struggle at being open with the ones she loves. She has some real work to do on getting herself in a place where she can be more than just the girl who deflects with a quick joke.
And who couldn’t love Reid, with his devotion to Millie, where he wants more, but is constantly disappointed with only getting from her what is seemingly at the surface. He was a strong character, who loved his family and friends endlessly, and who at this point in his life, finds himself ready to find a deep connection with a woman, whether it ends up being his best friend, or not.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
