Happy to Recommend!
Hidden Identity, searching for out of wedlock children ….two fabulous romances with happy ever afters in this very readable book and audiobook.
The characters in the main story, Julia and Alistair, are very endearing and I had a good few chuckles after Lady Julia’s first kiss. It seems a man can also be affected by that kind of kiss and the way they dance around each other after it is hilarious.
And then we have the other side of the coin in the story running alongside the main one with a man whose kisses put women off until he meets the love of his life who teaches him the right way to kiss.
Lovely characters, beautifully told stories and a good narration made this a very pleasurable experience which I am happy to recommend.
I listened to a complimentary copy of the audiobook and my voluntary review above is unbiased.
The beginning of the book we see Alistair Comber whom is The earl of Aimsley’s second son and
Gabriel Wellington whom is The Earl of Trenton talking together. We find out some of their history right off the bat. Gabriel seems a little odd but it just seems he was steered in the wrong direction for his clothing choices. By the end he seems like a good guy. He is one of the romances that we see in the book the other one is of course Alistair. Alistair has been disowned by his father and has found a job working in the Stables for the Harrington house. This is when we meet Lady Julia Harrington and her friend Lady Samantha who dares her to turn the groom into a gentleman.
It was a good read. I actually liked most of the characters. A couple were a little weird and different but no one was really a true villain type. I do like that when things were revealed in the end most people were reasonable rather than being small minded. Worth a read.

Two love stories, running parallel and interconnecting from time to time, the adventures in love of best friends Alistair Comber and Gabriel Wellingham put a smile on my face and even a giggle every now then. Although both their situations were unusual for the times, they nevertheless rang true and I could relate to all the characters. Alistair and Lady Julia had me wondering when Julia’s wager would be discovered. Emotionally broken Gabriel is drawn as if by a magnet back to the place where he once felt comfortable and accepted for whom he was. Sarah is a refreshing character, warm with a kind heart, borne out of having to survive losing her parents and fighting for herself. She is not without friends though, and other members of the inn watch her back and protect her. As the book rushes to an interesting ending, Gabriel’s mischievous mother takes the initiative in ensuring her son’s future happiness, whilst Julia’s mother also puts her oar in to bring her daughter’s happiness to a happy ending. Despite the two stories switching from chapter to chapter, I didn’t get confused and was able to keep the characters separated in my mind. This book is part of a series but is nevertheless a standalone, and comes to a really good ending for the two best friends. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. 3.5 STARS
I purchased this as part of a 3 book bundle the author offered called THE SONS OF THE ARISTOCRACY: Boxed Set.
This was by far the best of this set. I enjoyed the h/H of the main story. The H has been disowned by his father for doing an honorable thing and becomes a groom. The h makes a bet she will make the groom into a gentlemen. Unknowing he is the son of an Earl. The second story is about a man who tries to find his 1/2 siblings. He ends up at an inn he was previously too to speak to the bar maid. This one I didn’t feel the connection to as I did the first story.
There is lovemaking by both couples outside of marriage, heat level 4 out of 5. No cheating, HEA, romance in the first story and steam. I did enjoy how the h with the first couple, found out who he really was and how the turn of events took place with his father – very satisfying. (ljb)
This was a wonderful story. I enjoy reading all of her books.
