Lavinia Thacker has a voice like an angel’s, and she happily sings for anyone who asks. The first time she sees the young Duke of Monsey, it is at a party being hosted in the inn’s large dining hall for a local councilman’s daughter. From that first look, she knows there is something between them, so when she is invited to sing at his birthday party, she is at once delighted and afraid. Why does … does she feel as though she knows him, when she has never met him before? Or at least, she doesn’t remember having done so. But then again, she doesn‘t remember much beyond the last year and a half. The accident from which she had awakened eighteen months earlier had left her with a terrible scar down her left side, and no memory of anything before she woke up. Is the Duke a part of her past? Does her husband know about it? And how will she handle falling in love with a man who is not her husband or of her social class?
The old Duke of Monsey had plans for his only child, Robert, which did not include his marrying a commoner. But Robert is headstrong, and before the duke can stop it, his son and Lavinia Aston are married. Despite his rage at their action, the duke loves his son, and will not disinherit his true heir, or let his lands and fortune go to the oldest son of his deceased younger brother. His solution involves deception and kidnapping, and a stint at the front for his son. But when Robert returns home wounded, it is to find his father dead, and himself the new Duke. Attempting to relieve the double sorrow of a dead wife and father, Robert spends his time getting to know the villagers for whom he is the chief benefactor. But when he sees his dead wife married to the innkeeper, his rage knows no bounds, until he realizes she does not know who he is. Could he be wrong about her? Has something happened to make his wife forget him? And how will he get her back, if that’s the case?

Interesting idea for a book. I enjoyed it. Just seemed to be over quickly and no issues or disagreements about something that changed people’s lives drastically. Maybe needed a little more details and more feelings. Otherwise, nice short read.

Enjoyed this book very much – it was a quick read started off with a sad beginning and ended as a happily ever after
This was a short read with a sad beginning and a happy ending. It does have several sex scenes in it. It had a good storyline and great characters.

My Duke’s Temptations
Kathy Heart was an interesting and compelling Regency Romance. Ms. Heart is a new author to me and I thoroughly enjoyed her story.
This is the story of Lavinia Thacker, who has a beautiful voice and Robert Anson, the new Duke of Monsey. The story involves deception, kidnapping mystery, a bit of suspense, a kinda of whodunit, and love conquering all. Well crafted, even paced, unpredictable with engaging and charming characters. A quick read in which the author manages to convey the story to her reader. L
I look forward to reading more from this author.

Love should always triumph in the end and I am so happy with the story’s outcome. I’m sad for William but Lavinia and Robert deserve their happy ever after. Good job!!

Lavinia Thachter was married to an innkeeper and she had a beautiful singing voice. The Duke of Monsey has returned home from the war with an injury and at the death of his father. Before he went to war he and his love ran off to Grenata Green to get married. On the way to tell her parents they were attacked by highwaymen and his wife carried off and them he was told she was dead. When he heard Lavinia sing and saw her he was sure she was his wife. To discover the truth u must read the book.
I found this regency romance to be a very enjoyable read! The storyline was well written, the plot flowed smoothly from page to page and the characters were so well detailed that I was glued to my kindle until the very last page!
I did not expect this book to turn out the way it did when I requested the ARC of it. I was surprised, and it wasn’t a bad thing, but i’m not sure if it made the story better or worse for me. its hard to say. i loved the history behind it, and the who done it aspect was intriguing, trying to figure out who did this event and why they went through so much trouble to do it, and how to correct it all…it made the story a bit confusing for me, and took away a bit from the mystery and romance aspect, which i appreciate in a story. so i gave this a 3.5 star for that reason.

My Duke’s Temptation was a quick read, great for reading at the beach. I felt it was too short, the plot needed a little more to it. The characters were not believable. The reunion was too quick to be real. Overall it was a fun little book to read.
Loved it. Very emotional, heartbreaking, sweet, exciting, surprising and so much more. His father has ideas for him but he wants someone his father does not approve of. And she wants him. And so the adventure begins. I recommend it. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.
Robert continues to mourn the death of his wife. Robert agrees to attend a birthday party. Robert thinks that he is seeing his own late wife’s ghost. Lavinia doesn’t remember anything. Lavinia was beaten and left for dead. I enjoyed reading this book. I loved the storyline and plot. This was a short read. Devastated after the death of his beloved wife Lavinia, Robert immerses himself in activities. While attending a birthday celebration he realizes that the singer performing sounds familiar. Could his wife be alive after all and why would she fake her death?
Can he overcome his anger in order to discover the truth? His struggle to seek out the one behind all the machinations leads him to someone very close to home. You will like this story.

Not really *Spoilers* but just in case…
When I first read the description of this book, I admit that I was intrigued. The mystery of how the main character went from Duchess to Inkeeper’s wife within the same town that the Duke resides, was puzzling. You were shown quite quickly that she had amnesia, and it wasn’t a plot on her part to hurt the Duke.
It was really an enjoyable read for me, I just wish the author did a little more fleshing out about the mystery in the end instead of revealing it so easily. I was a bit disappointed on that end, and that she never recovered from her amnesia was, while realistic, sad. One of my other issues was that she fell in love again with him so quickly, in a matter of a week or that’s what it seemed like.

A well-written book that I enjoyed reading. Lavinia Thacker does not remember anything past the last 18 months as she was beaten and left for dead. She has married innkeeper William Thacker, Lavinia sings for others at parties held at the inn, Robert the Duke of Monsey who has just gotten back from being hurt in the war goes to that party. Robert had been told his wife was dead imagine his surprise when he sees her singing at the inn. What is to happen now had me turning pages I had to know what was going to happen and how William would handle things. I would recommend this book.
