A triumphant continuation of the series
This is a triumphant continuation of a series that shows great promise. The plot is a unique and gripping story, with plenty of twists and turns. The characters are portrayed wonderfully, and have to navigate some quite emotional moments. This book will suit all those that love steamy historical romances, that follow an intriguing path to happiness.
Shattered worlds bring these two together in this lovely read. I was hooked from their first meeting wanting to know their stories. I loved that there wasn’t a ton of conflict between them and that it wrapped up everything nicely. It was clear they were meant to be together and just need a little pushing. I held my breath when she found out he lied because of how she found out, but it worked really well. I was hoping for a certain kind of ending and was thrilled to get it!
Ella will not let her father’s doing bring her down without a fight. I loved her spirit and how kind she was. There wasn’t a hateful bone in her body and she would do anything to help others.
Matthew was left shattered by so much, but his heart is still kind and loving. I loved that everyone could see how kind he was and that scene with the baby made my heart sing. He deserved a happy ending.
Lady Ella and Lord Matthew are a well-matched couple. I was taken by them at their first meeting. My Duke’s Deception is an endearing romance that kept me entertained. While he was her knight in shining armor, she also ends up healing his heart. A sweet emotional read that has two who have experienced pain finding love and saving each other. Enjoyable historical romance read.
My Duke’s Deception is book 2 of the Wicked Lords of London Series but can be read as a standalone. I did enjoy couples from the Duke of Essex and My Duke’s Seduction having a part in this story.
Another fabulous book by Tammy Andresen. My Dukes Deception is a short read and you can probably get it done in one sitting. I’m looking forward to more in the series.
Tammy Andersen books always gives me that warm feeling inside and I can’t help but smile when I read one of her books and My Duke’s Deception is another that does the same. This is book 2 in the Wicked Lords of London series and I am holding my breath for book 3 in this series! Tammy’s writing is so amazing and her characters are truly wonderful and so descriptive that the story just comes alive! I love a genre where the hero is kind and generous and helps the helpless and in My Duke’s Deception he does just that. This story has kindness, friendships, understanding, missing person, caring, desperation, being penniless, sympathy, needing work, feeling not worthy, death and love. I loved this story as much as I love all of tammy Andresen stories. This is a must read and I highly recommend it.
Travel back in time to London with Lady Eleanor (Ella) Mcintyre and Lord Matthew Evans, the Duke of Pennington.
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
I really loved this story of two people wounded deeply from betrayal, lack of love & nurturing & how they grew to have faith in themselves & trust in one another. Lady Eleanor McIntyre was kept in the country her whole life while her father gambled away everything & then he died & leaving Ella penniless to make her way on the streets. Lord Matthew Evans, Duke of Pennington finds Ella working in a horrible bar as a serving girl. She is being accosted by a table of men & Matthew saves her from them but she also loses her job. He takes her home & finds she has skills to help him find his sister – she will help him & he will find her a respectable job.
Matthew does not tell Ella he is a Duke as the love that had betrayed him only wanted a title & money & he did not trust Ella. But as Ella’s kindness, innocence & beauty become more known to him; he is sorry he didn’t tell her the truth from the beginning.
Will the lies & mistrust be forgiven – will he find his sister alive – will Ella & Matthew get their HEA? Tammy Andresen has such a wonderful way of writing that makes you fall in love with the characters in her books & also feel their pain & happiness. I highly recommend this book to all historical romance readers!
Tammy Andresen’s well drawn characters easily come to life in this next installment of the Wicked Lords of London Series. Not given love by his father and left by the woman he did love, Matthew, the Duke of Pennington holds tightly to his emotions. His main desire is to find his sister who had been missing for two years. Lady Eleanor McIntyre was a kindred soul, having been left destitute by her unloving father and was trying to earn money working in a tavern. By a touch of fate, Matthew saves her as she is assaulted and carries her home.
So what could possibly happen now? Ella is able to help Matthew in the search for his sister but she does not realize he is a Duke. He agrees to help her find a position once she aids with his search. But as Ella shows her true nature as a kind and gentle lady, his emotions come into play and he struggles to trust her enough to let her into his heart.
Will the two be able to find a happy ending together? Will he find his sister alive and what will happen after that?
A beautifully written emotional story that will pull at the heart and leave you wanting more from this amazing author. If you love historical romance, you will be glad you read this novella and every book that Tammy has written! Cannot wait for the next in the series!!!
Tammy Andresen never disappoints! My Duke’s Deception is another well written, short but completely captivating story full of emotion. I loved Matthew and Ella, they were perfectly matched. The storyline was fun and it was easy to read and get into. A very enjoyable read!!
My Duke’s Deception is another fabulous historical romance by Tammy Andresen. Ms. Andresen has again delivered an entertaining read. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited time for reading. I love the characters in this story. Matthew finds Ella while searching for information about his sister. Their story is loaded with drama, humor and sexy bits. I enjoyed reading My Duke’s Deception and look forward to my next book by the talented Tammy Andresen. My Duke’s Deception is book 2 of the Wicked Lords of London Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from a third party. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Lady Eleanor McIntyre has been forgotten by society, unloved and left to ruin by her father. She’s no home & has resorted to working in a dockland pub, The Kicking Horse where she crosses paths with a mysterious man who saves her life. It is like a miracle but even more shocking is that he needs her help to find his lost sister Camille. Matthew, the Duke of Pembroke, has an excellent reason for hiding his title from the lovely Ella. The only woman he had ever loved Sarah, cared far more about his position than she ever did the man. Ella is too beautiful to be trusted with the knowledge he is a duke. Matthew introduces himself as Matthew Rangley.
A lovely short story, the author is so very good at giving the characters of a novella depth of character. The story is very well paced. I liked the attraction between Matthew & Ella which each of them fought, he as he didn’t trust women & she because she thought she was unlovable. This is the second book in the series but could be read on its own however I’m terrible for needing to read a series from the start so would recommend reading the first book & The Earl of Sussex first.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
