A romance author, a cover model, a book signing…a crush. Ordinary women like me know we shouldn’t fall for beautiful men like Travis Zehler, one of the hottest cover models in romance fiction. But, sometimes, we can’t help ourselves. When I meet him at a book signing, my attraction to him is instant. I’m infatuated, and I can’t stop thinking about him. Even though I have doubts he’d ever be … him.
Even though I have doubts he’d ever be interested, I invite Travis to attend a book signing with me. And he says yes.
My fantasy comes true when he takes me to his bed, and the more time we spend together, the more I see that Travis isn’t some object to be desired.
He’s a man with a past. A man who’s been burned. A man who’s learned to keep his guard up.
I want to show him he can trust again, but when our confidence in each other is shaken, I begin to wonder if happily ever afters are only for my romance novels.

I did enjoy this book, but there was….something missing for me. I’m not sure what it was, I honestly can’t put my finger on it. But you know how you read a book and you like it but there’s just something about it that was missing so you didn’t LOVE it?! That’s how this book was for me.
I really liked Travis and Sydney. I loved getting to know them and I loved how their friendship developed. But I’ll also say that I wish there had been more of that. Because there was a wham bam kiss then nothing. Then they got together and it was a case of “what does this mean?!”
I thought the story was well done. And having been to a few signings myself, and met a few models, I definitely knew where Sydney was coming from when she first met Travis. *confession time*…the first book model I met at a signing…well, let’s just say I embarrassed myself in front of him. He laughed, I turned red and I got a signed book, photo and a hug out of it. I hope I never meet him again …*confession over*….so I totally understood how Sydney felt when she fell on the floor in front of Travis and a few of the other incidents that happened. Ok, not THAT scene in the hotel room at their first signing together…but you know what I mean.
As with every romance novel, you know there’s going to come a time when something happens in the relationship to make it blow up. I saw it coming a mile away. And I was face palming so hard…sure enough, it happened, things went bad and I just wanted to smack both of them. And I’ll be honest. By that point, I wasn’t really feeling the love between them so if they hadn’t gotten back together…I’d have been ok. So the way they did get back together…I didn’t care for it. I just wasn’t feeling it. But, that’s just me.
Overall, the book was really good, and I’d definitely check out more books from this author in the future!
This story had me from the very beginning and never let go. I suspect that this idea has floated around most authors’ minds from time to time (my own included) but this author pair managed to flesh it out in The. Best. Way.
Travis is a model who happens to end up on book covers. Sydney is an author who has seen his work, but isn’t hit by the profoundness of his beauty until she meets him at a book signing he’s attending with a friend. The rub is, he’s actually a really likeable guy and she’s a truly fantastic woman herself. Together they make quite a pair!
These characters are just so well-rounded and believable, and I loved every moment of following them around these pages. Real life situations and reactions, great chemistry, wonderful banter and just so much yes. All the yesses. Can’t recommend enough!

Sydney and Travis are a treat to read! This story reflects the doubts a lot of people have about relationships and the pasts they deal with. With an engaging cast of characters, humor, heat and a little angst, this is a must read!
This writing duo sometimes writes paranormal and sometimes writes contemporary but their books are always steamy! Their newest book, The Object Of My Desire, fits the bill of a STEAMY contemporary romance! Grab your morning coffee (and a fan) and let’s talk about Travis and Sydney.
Sydney is a thirty-something up-and-coming author. She is at a point in her career where she was able to quit her job and support herself with her writing. Sydney has a blog, all of the social media sites, and is beginning to attend the book signings. It is at a book signing that she meets Travis. Travis is a twenty-something model/personal trainer who was attending a book signing with a fellow author. Travis has been the featured model on the cover of several books and is so hot that Sydney is pretty sure that she is going to get pregnant just from standing beside him. Despite their chemistry and the fact that they live in the same city, Sydney and Travis don’t see each other again until Sydney chooses one of Travis’ pictures for the cover of her newest book.
I’ve shared before that I am new to the this side of the book world. I learned a lot about choosing cover photos and book signings from this book. It was interesting to read about the process from the side of an author and now I wonder….how many have met and fallen for their cover model? They are very nice to look at especially the one on this cover. Those eyes! Ooops, I got off topic. I really enjoy the writing style of Renae and Lara. Their characters are deep and real with complex emotions and fears. This must-read book gets 5 out of 5 propellers from me!
So I’m disappointed. I’ve read another book from these authors so I was expecting more out of the characters.
The storyline is awesome and sets you up to be a good novel however the spark isn’t there. Between the characters together as a couple and this reader. I struggled trying to lose myself in it.
It’s has the bones to be a good love story however the passion and fire is missing.
This is a fun story with fun characters from the main characters to the side characters. I loved that the characters were humble and just regular people with regular problems. It made the story easy to identify with the characters. Sydney was a romance writer with moderate success. She wrote all the time and sometimes forgot about everyday things. She and her bestie go to a signing and meet Travis. He is a cover model. When Sydney first saw pictures of Travis, she thought he was moderate to cute. When she meets him in person, she finds him drool worthy. She develops a crush. There are a few/lots of embarrassing moments for Sydney which makes the story fun. Travis has a past that still haunts him which gives a little drama. good story.

Superbly written! This is an excitingly sweet fast pace read with little drama and a grabbing storyline that will make you laugh throughout the entire book. The characters are intriguing; the chemistry between them is potent; the sex scenes are sizzling hot. It is a really good read and comes highly recommended.

A well-written story that had me smiling a story I enjoyed reading. Sydney is a romance author who is attending a book signing where she meets Travis, a romance fiction cover model. Two people who have to learn to trust each other. Their story held my interest until the end. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Keeping an open mind on people is a big thing. She had her doubts about him but changed her mind when she got to know him. She had to accept some things about herself before she vvould fo the same about him.

OMG! This book was so hilarious I don’t even know where to start. Definitely don’t read it in public or you’ll get a lot of dirty looks for laughing like a crazy person. Sydney was still finding her way in the author world and would on occasion do book signing events and network. Sydney took her bestie Harper with her to work as her assistant at the event, and the hilarity ensued when they met Travis. Travis was a model helping his friend Angela at the same event and thought Sydney was cute. Sydney had a few embarrassing drool worthy moments over Travis in the beginning. I about died laughing when Travis walked in on Sydney with Tripp and what happened after. Christy really did a number on Travis and it colored all of his interactions with Sydney which led to the huge fight. Thankfully his sister Lynn was able to help him see that Sydney was nothing like Christy and that she deserved another chance. Harper was an amazing friend to Sydney when she really needed her, and when she wasn’t causing her own mayhem. I thought it was sweet how the ending mirrored Sydney’s in The One That Got Away with a better ending.

I enjoyed this book so much. With a story line that will hold special appeal to readers, this book kept me fully engaged with these characters and actively rooting for them to get their HEA. Travis and Sydney’s romance reads like a fairy tale that has been crafted directly from the fantasies that live in romance readers minds. It was so easy to fall for Travis and Sydney. They are so easy to connect with, their chemistry sizzles and the emotions they go through will touch your heart. A great read!
R.L. Kenderson has written a beautiful and well developed story filled with thrilling moments and protagonists that feels real. It is a captivating and heartfelt romance, but the story is also heartwrenching and takes the readers on an emotional rollercoster. The relationship between Travis and Sydney is mesmerizing and the ending is perfect.

I posted something similar in my last review on a book written by this author.. when I read a book by this author it’s so real I can almost feel as I’m right there seeing it all transpire. I just love the writing so much and being a huge fan of the indie world I can’t imagine a better book than this.Sydney is an author who at a book signing meets a extremely hot book cover model. Travis is more than just his looks and he likes Sydney. Sydney doesn’t have confidence in herself but maybe Travis can change that. There are some hilarious characters in this book! I love Harper! This is book is just to awesome to explain, you must read it to appreciate it! I loved it!

I love reading books about authors, because well, I am such an avid reader and it gives us a glimpse to their world of writing. In Object of My Desire by R.L. Kenderson she gives us a look in not only an author’s life, but also signings and on top of that gives us a romance with a cover model. It’s a romance reader dream!
Sydney is a romance author and we meet her as she sets out to a signing with her PA. At the signing she meets another author and the cover model she brought with her. The four of them spend time together and Sydney finds Travis very attractive but believes a woman like her would never attract a man like him. Not that she was not confident in herself and who she was, she was only (in her mind) thinking realistically.
Travis was sexy and charming, but we also got to see him as a person. His ex-did a number on him and is not really ready to jump into another relationship. He is younger than Sydney, but like her, knows what he wants and value. I loved Travis so much. When Sydney is getting ready to release her next book, she uses Travis as her cover model and invites him to her next signing.
I loved watching them begin to get to know each other and become friends. Their relationship was fun, light and easy. But with insecurities plaguing them, can they realize what they have together before it’s too late? I had so much fun reading Object of My Desire by R.L. Kenderson.

Happy reading!
Fun steamy romance
Renae and Lara the writing team that is R.L. Kenderson crafted a fun steamy romance in their latest release Object of My Desire. Sydney was believable as a fairly new writer trying to build her career and Travis was a great tho unlikely (Sydney’s take) match. I loved their chemistry and their personal baggage that caused some of the ups and downs to their HEA was totally believable.

Refreshingly original. I laughed out loud and I swooned. Trust me, you need to read it!!
Sydney is a writer of romance novels. Travis is a male model and personal trainer. She is also older than him. Sydney purchases a stock photo of Travis for the cover of her first novel. When they meet at a book signing she is immediately in lust. Surprisingly, in her eyes, he is attracted to her too. Loved the characters and the story.
I LOVED this book! R.L. Kenderson has proved yet again what a spectacular writing team they are! There is not one thing I have read from them that I haven’t loved.
Sydney felt so real and relatable. Travis, seriously, where can I find a Travis! They both have insecurities that I can relate to and have felt they way they were. I made it so easy to connect with these characters and root for them!
I loved feeling like I was getting a behind-the-scenes look at the life of an author and book signings. What a fun, unique read.
Grab this book now you will not be sorry!
Meet author Sydney, she’s an ordinary mid thirties woman writing romance stories! While at a signing she meet’s another author who’s there with her male model Travis. Sydney is so attracted to him and wishes she could be a woman he would fall for, but he’s way to pretty for her, not to mention younger than her!
Travis has his own demons, a past relationship has made him weary of dating anyone. As a male model, his ex made his life hell and he’s afraid of going through that again. But when he meets Sydney, there is definitely a spark there!
Follow their story in this amazing “behind the scenes” look into not only an authors life but the male models who grace their covers. They are so much more than just a body on a cover and in this book you will see just how much more! Great job 5+++ stars for this one!!
