A romance author, a cover model, a book signing…a crush. Ordinary women like me know we shouldn’t fall for beautiful men like Travis Zehler, one of the hottest cover models in romance fiction. But, sometimes, we can’t help ourselves. When I meet him at a book signing, my attraction to him is instant. I’m infatuated, and I can’t stop thinking about him. Even though I have doubts he’d ever be … him.
Even though I have doubts he’d ever be interested, I invite Travis to attend a book signing with me. And he says yes.
My fantasy comes true when he takes me to his bed, and the more time we spend together, the more I see that Travis isn’t some object to be desired.
He’s a man with a past. A man who’s been burned. A man who’s learned to keep his guard up.
I want to show him he can trust again, but when our confidence in each other is shaken, I begin to wonder if happily ever afters are only for my romance novels.

The authors must have seen my friend at a book conference LOL The description sounds so much like him. He and I didn’t get our HEA but it is makes a great story.
The authors know about authors, writing , the book industry, and that cover models aren’t rolling in the money .
Thank you for such an awesome book. I found it a joy to read. Perhaps the best book of my summer.
Wasn’t sure in the beginning but by the end I bought every word. Truly a beautiful story.
I loved this book! I would recommend this to any lover of contemporary romance or even romantic comedy. This book made me laugh and fall in love with the characters. I could relate to the characters in the sense that they both have doubts and insecurities about their relationship. Travis at first doesn’t want to go after Sydney even though his attracted to her because of his ex and Sydney doesn’t see why someone like Travis would be interested in her. I felt like that in a relationship before that’s why I love this book!I’ll definitely be re-reading this book
I know other people are saying these same things but I can’t help that it is so true. Travis and Sydney were absolutely some of the most real characters that I have ever read. The story is well paced and fresh. I love that both Sydney and Travis have insecurities that make then not only real but truly loveable. I like the small element of second chance in the story too.

I absolutely loved this book! Sydney is an author who meets Travis, a model for book covers, at a book signing. He’s the model for one of her colleague’s books and she is immediately drawn to him. However, she believes that he is out of her league so she automatically puts him in the “unattainable” category. I really liked this book because a lot of us wonder what goes through an author’s mind when they are writing and using models they’ve met for their book covers. This book, even though it’s 100% fiction, gives us a unique insight into the thoughts and actions behind the books. It’s a definite “could happen” scenario and that’s part of what makes it so good! We get to imagine this happening to us or people we know and it’s not so far fetched. Plus Sydney is a character we can relate to and definitely feel connected to. This book definitely drew me in and made me tear up a little as well as had me laughing. I loved it! I can’t wait for more from this author. 5 stars and 2 thumbs way way up.
Sydney is at a book signing when she gets to meet Travis – a model. He is gorgeous and wouldn’t be interested in her anyway. Travis is there helping his friend but when he sees Sydney he is interested. Hilarious moments abound in this book with Travis having such a great sense of humor. Travis is tired of women just wanting him for his looks so when he finds Sydney, he is intrigued by her. But trust is a big issue in this book along with insecurities and just downright honest communication. Sometimes you just need to lay it on the line. Heartwarming in places with Sydney’s best friend being a riot. Definitely recommend this book.

Object Of My Desire had me captivated and charmed right from the start. As an addicted romance reader this is a storyline that made you feel like it was all possible. It gave you the understanding that it doesn’t matter how we look on the outside from average to perfect, we all have insecurities. Travis and Sydney have a chemistry that is addictive and one that you will feel skin deep. A book that will have you relating to it so easily, that at times it will be like you are old friends with the characters. A refreshing romance story that is inspiring, witty, passionate, heartfelt and seriously steamy.
As a voracious reader of romance books I was intrigued by the premise of this story and the behind-the-scenes look at the publishing world and the lives of those who make their living in this world. It was a charming read dealing with insecurities that many can relate to which made this journey of two friends becoming lovers more realistic. From the first page to the last I became more and more invested in them and was rooting for them every step of the way to find their HEA.
Sydney Hart is a romance author who’s finally able to write full time and is doing all she can to gain a following which means going to book signings and maintaining a social presence by interacting with readers. She’s an average gal with looks that she sees as far from perfect, but she’s comfortable in her own skin. She may have been unlucky in love in real life, but she can at least write about it. Attending the latest book signing changes her life irrevocably though as it introduces her to Travis, a sexy cover model, who pushes all her buttons and brings all her insecurities to the surface. It’s a crackling first meeting that sees them becoming friends before another book signing sees them becoming lovers over one erotically-charged weekend. Theirs is a slow and steady connection that’s scorching but also allows for heartfelt talks that bring up their painful pasts, their vulnerabilities, and it makes them all the more relatable. Sydney’s not someone who dresses to perfection, she’s more natural and is more like the good girl next door. Men in her past have made her question her body image, left her feeling unworthy and because of that she at first saw Travis as unattainable, merely sexy eye candy who would never be interested in her. She’s at first content just to form a friendship, but once they’re in close quarters their flirtiness turns sensual in a relationship with a few bumps along the way. At first Sydney internally questions every move he makes, analyzes every Instagram post and slowness in “friending” her, and it felt a bit immature and frustrating. Considering her past though I could understand her self-doubts and was happy that she actually talked things out with Travis when she had other moments like this instead of letting it fester into a Big Misunderstanding. The longer she’s with Travis the more empowered she became, the more flirty and the more bold, and it was an entertaining transformation. Though Sydney allowed one moment of self-doubt to put their HEA in jeopardy she more than atoned for it in a grand gesture that only a writer could enact and it had me cheering.
Travis Zehler’s more than just a pretty face. While he’s definitely got a drool-worthy body he’s also got a kind heart. He exudes sensuality and makes every fan feel special. From the outside his life seems pretty wonderful. Behind the sexy facade though is a man who has his own self-doubts courtesy of an ex-girlfriend who questioned every move he made because of her own insecurities and jealousy. It’s left him suspicious of women and their motives and it makes him all the more appreciative of Sydney as she’s wholeheartedly accepting of his work and expresses great pride in what he does. From the moment he met her there was a sizzle between them which made their fast friendship feel real and it had me waiting with bated breath for them to take the next step. His fears over how Sydney MIGHT react sometimes left me frustrated though as it was almost like he was looking for problems, but his delightful interactions with Sydney didn’t have me holding a grudge for long. When Travis makes a bold declaration late in the story I was giddy, on a high that quickly had me crashing, but from that low point Travis earned his hero status to put him and Sydney back on their path to HEA in a sweet reunion that charmed me. Travis is a delicious hero with a fun and flirty nature, a talent for dirty talk, and I thoroughly enjoyed his and Sydney’s road to HEA despite the few bumps along the way.
On a whole this was an entertaining read with likable and relatable characters. It touched on body image issues, preconceived notions, and even the age difference of a slightly older woman being with a slightly younger man in a charming tale of opposites attracting. The main couple struggled with self-doubts early on but as their connection built they fell into a comfortable balance of sweet interludes and erotically-charged encounters. Surrounding this appealing main couple was a colorful cast of secondary characters who gave great insight into the world of books, adding elements of believability to immerse readers even more fully into this story. The only character that fell a bit flat was that of Travis’s ex-girlfriend Christy. She was predictable and after causing a momentary problem she seemed to vanish abruptly while the power she had on Travis still lingered. Despite her presence I found this a fun and flirty romance with a couple full of heart and soul in a story that resonated with me completely and will be especially entertaining to other lovers of romance.
Sydney is used to seeing pics of hot guys, after all, she’s a romance author and hot guys are just about all that are featured on romances now. But she never imagines that using the picture of one particular model will take her (and him) on the journey to love.
I love this storyline. The writer and the model? A classic trope but here it’s done so so well. And the very best part about it is that both Sydney and Travis are real characters with real insecurities and feelings. No over the top stuff, just ordinary people who find love and must figure out a way to develop and maintain that love in the face of their own insecurities and baggage.
I really enjoyed this steamy story about the romance between an author and a super sexy cover model. Sydney is happy with body and her looks but is a bit insecure when it comes to her relationship with Travis. Sydney seems to be the perfect woman for Travis but his past with a difficult ex has him made him hypersensitive to anything that smacks of jealousy. Can this couple overcome the obstacles to their HEA?
These characters come across as really likable, ordinary people. The writing is good and the story held my interest all the way through. The only other book I’ve read by R.L. Kenderson is Wicked Chemistry, which I loved. I can’t wait to read more.

Oh My Goodness! I love this book! This is the first book that I have read by R.L. Kenderson! I was not sure if I was going to get into it or the characters but boy did I ever!
Sydney is a romance author who is happy with herself and her life. She meets Travis, a cover model, at a book signing. She ends up putting him on the cover of the next book she’s working on and invites him to join her at the next signing that she is going to and he says yes.
The relationship develops in an easy and seamless way for Sydney and Travis. Can they work through their own insecurities they have with themselves and with each other to find their happily ever after?
So I absolutely love that this book is based in the Midwest/Minnesota! I think that R. L. Kenderson does an amazing job of bringing us two characters that are completely relatable! The insecurities that BOTH characters have are so prevalent in today’s society! This story is so well written! BRAVA R.L. Kenderson! (less)
Loved this book! Sydney and Travis had amazing chemistry and it was just the right combination of sweet and steamy. It was also refreshing to have a heroine who doesn’t have the body of a model. I’ve loved everything I’ve read by these ladies, and this book was no exception!
Absolutely fantastic! A well written emotionally deep romance. The storyline is flawless, funny, witty, enjoyable, and very interesting. The story flows smoothly and moves along at a brisk pace with a few ups and downs and a mix of emotions on every page. The chemistry between them is intense and their sex scene is beautifully written and HOT!

I was super excited about this story. I loved the idea of real life ties to the romance literary world. I was not at all disappointed. It was everything I wanted and then some. I was hooked from the first page all the way through to the end. It repeatedly took me through the whole spectrum of feels, from full belly laughing to crying like a baby. This book hits on important real life relationship struggles, like body insecurities, trust issues, and the importance of honesty and communication. It was a fantastic read, from start to finish! A definite must read!!
Sydney Hart is a successful writer, going to a writer’s convention. She invites along her cover model. Travis Zehler.
At 34, Travis is a couple years younger than Sydney and is carrying his own baggage (as in a bad ex, Christy). He’s a model and a personal trainer.
Sparks fly between Travis and Sydney but they also have fun and build their relationship.
Recommend.

Love at first signing!
Poor Sydney! How many awkward moments and embarrassing faux pas can she endure in front of Travis, the hot book cover model she met at a book signing event (that she might have a teensy bit of a crush on)?! So many that, even as an author, she couldn’t write them all! It’s so painfully funny!
But really it’s realizing that nobody is perfect no matter what they present themselves to be. Knowing your self worth, having self confidence, learning about giving and receiving trust is what the underlying tone is – all wrapped up in a hilarious, sweet, and very sexy package! I could not put it down!
This is a must read! I loved it!!
This book needs more than 5 stars. It was such a real story. Sydney is a romance author and Travis is a cover-model. Travis has had his trust broken in a past relationship and Sydney has is a strong women with every-woman insecurities (especially when involved with a super hot cover model). R.L. gives you a book with a great story line, awesome characters (I want Harper as my friend) and so many funny moments….(Wait till you meet Trip LOL … literally you will laugh out loud)!!! This book really made me want to attend an convention so I could meet R.L. in person (or any of my other favs). What causes the drama could really happen in any relationship too. I love how Travis called his sister for help and really loved the HEA they gave me! This is definitely on my re-read list and a great book for any person who loves a great story with some very steamy sex and some laughs too.
I LOVED Travis and Sydney! These two together are funny, steamy, and oh so perfect for each other! Sydney is a romance author and Travis is a personal trainer and model. After being the model for the cover of one of her books, they attend a book signing together. This is the start to something really beautiful between these two!
Sydney is a little older than Travis and for the most part certainly confident in herself. She can really hold her own with Travis and his modeling world. Travis is more down to earth than you would expect from a gorgeous model. He’s drawn to Sydney for not just her beauty but also her confidence and because she’s real. When these two first hook up it is HOT . You won’t expect this scene at all and it makes it that much hotter!
The ending to this book is so unique and well written. Sydney and Travis hit a bit of a tough spot and Sydney includes it in her latest book. I’m not giving any of that away!!! You have to read this book even if it’s for the ending alone. You will be questioning things for a little while before everything is explained and comes together. Check this book out! It was really great!
