This is a quick read, but full of emotion.
Ralphie had a crush in Nessa, but never had a chance since she was always in love with Jimmy.
Veronica is Nessa’s sister, and appears at the Chaos house because she needs to take Nessa back home, but the reception is not what she expected, except for Ralphie, who has treated her well since he laid eyes on her .
The two build a relationship, but when they need to return to their lives, things don’t seem to work out for them.
I was really touched by this story, with all the feelings involved, especially of Nessa and her mother. I couldn’t contain the tears.
This is another great story by this wonderful author. I highly recommend the reading.
Short and sweet, a great filler when you are between heavy books.
I loved the story of the rockstar and the good country girl. The angst and drama behind the scenes with the mother and sister.
The characters were all familiar, having read the rest of this series. But it still stands alone, but why wouldn’t you want to read them all?
A fun series with plenty of loving.
Veronica’s, Nessa’s sister needs for her to return home and visiting with her mother. Can she convince Nessa that they both needs to make amends? Ralphie is the only one by Veronica’s side. But will they have a chance at love with everything against it? A sweet love story.
I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
My Country Angel is a short novella length story set in the Lyrics of Love world. This story is about Ralphie, another band member of the band Chaos, and his love interest Veronica who is Nessa’s sister. This book is a lot shorter than the other books so far. It was a cute romantic read and I like that the other band members also get their happy ending now and it’s fun to see more of the band.
Ralphie is in love with Nessa, but she now has Jimmie. Ralphie gets a love interest of his own in Nessa’s sister Veronica in this book. It was fun to see more of the band and this time from two other point of views. It also nicely ties in with a plot line surrounding Nessa’s past, which was nice.
While I enjoyed this one I felt like it was a bit too short. I didn’t really feel and see how Ralphie used to be in love with Nessa and there isn’t really much of a change from that to his new love interest, which makes it hard to really feel how he loved Nessa and it doesn’t really impact the story. The romance develops quickly, but my main issue is that we don’t get to see any of the romantic getting to know each other scenes between them except for the first one, then we skip a few days later and they basically have fallen for one another. I would’ve liked to see that change and see them fall in love.
I liked both Ralphie and Veronica and while I would’ve liked to see more of their romance as I liked them together and they felt like a good match. Veronica was so sweet and innocent and Ralphie was so kind to her. I liked them together. There is a bit of a conflict about how they live on different sides of the country and I liked how it was resolved.
It was fun to see Veronica get to know her sister Nessa a bit, but I would’ve liked to see a bit more of it and seeing Veronica get to hear the whole story form Nessa about her mother. It was a bit weird to see their mother from another point of view, the women was downright cruel to Nessa and it was a bit much and then in this book she seems a lot more human and it suddenly becomes clear she does care. It was a bit hard to reconcile those two views of her.
To summarize: This was a sweet and romantic short novella. I liked seeing more of the band Chaos and this time seeing Ralphie get his happy ending. I liked Ralphie and Veronica together and thought they made for a good couple, but I would’ve liked to see a bit more of them falling in love. As this is a short read it skips a few days in which the two grow closer. I mostly just wanted a bit more story so I could get a better feel for both of them and see more of their romance. I did like them together and how the conflict was resolved and it’s great to see the other band members will find their happy endings too.
Ralphie is the bass guitarist for Chaos, a rock and roll band that is making its way into stardom. He is starting to realize that he is one of 2 guys that are still single in the band. Life is getting to be really lonely these days, but he cannot bring himself to be the groupie lover like Flick–another band member.
Veronica is a sweet Mississippi girl who has done everything her mother has asked of her all her life. She turns up at the Chaos’ gate to their driveway, looking for Nessa–one of the lead singers. Ralphie eyes her as he drives up to the gate and thinks she is another groupie, but after vetting her, realizes she is a bit more than that. She is Nessa’s sister.
Their Mama is dying and Veronica is hellbent on bringing Nessa to her. But can she do what she came to do? And who is this handsome guy she met at the end of the driveway?
This is a sweet and short novella that had me in tears at one point. But at the same time, reading how everything unfolded created so many pictures in my mind. You almost feel like a fly on the wall watching it all go down.
