Mabel “Maybe” Willis died a virgin at the very young age of twenty-four.She leaves behind her parents, Betty and Bruce, her brother, Evan, a laptop filled with one too many Jason Momoa memes, and a Kindle library with more books than one human being could ever finish in a lifetime.Cause of death: a text message.Okay. So, I didn’t die.But I may as well have. One minute, I’m a woman trying to find … have.
One minute, I’m a woman trying to find her way in the world, and the next, I’m the sender of six of the most embarrassing text messages that have ever been sent in the history of time—or the cell phone. Whatever.
We’re talking code red, send a flipping mayday, the apocalypse is coming kind of texts.
And I didn’t just send them to some random person I’ll never see again.
No. That would be too easy.
I sent them to Milo Ives.
The man who played a starring role in all of my teenage fantasies—and my brother’s lifelong best friend.
And, boy oh boy, has he grown up.
He’s hard-bodied, blue-eyed, jawline-of-stone handsome, crazy successful, and has more money in his bank account than my brain can fathom.
Deflower me, please? I said.
Yeah. Send help.

If you are in need of a laugh, I mean a belly hurting, can’t control it kind of laugh then this is the book for you. Between the outrageous text messages, word vomit and insanely embarrassing moments you will be laughing out loud as strangers observing you think you are quickly losing your mind. This story eased some of the stress from my shoulders, lightened my heart and brought a huge dose of happiness and joy to my preoccupied mind. Maybe you will be captivated by their story. Maybe it will take you on a joyful journey. Just maybe, Maybe and Milo will be a couple that will steal your heart, make you laugh till you cry and have you hoping that maybe Milo will realize that she isn’t his best friend’s little sister anymore. Who am I kidding the only maybe in this scenario is Maybe herself. Absolutely loved this story and a big thank you to Max Monroe for bringing so much happiness to me with the magic of your words.
As always these authors blow me away with just how amazing, entertaining and creative they are.

I am fairly new when it comes to their books but after reading The Billionaire Next Door and absolutely loving it, I knew I had to read more and I have dived into their collection and now this? As soon as I saw the book, the cover, and the blurb, I was sold.. Actually, I was sold the moment I saw their name!
, ?
Where to begin…
Well as you can tell by the name, it is a brother’s best friend and he is a billionaire… I am a sucker for both those in a character. I mean who wouldn’t be? It’s forbidden in a way, a man who is like a prince charming, swoony and all-around amazing, and of course hot as hell and rich?
!!
!!
In this book, there is Maybe and Milo both unique and amazing characters!
Maybe was quirky, she was awkward, she was cute and funny and I found myself laughing so hard when it came to her awkward moments and her strange but awesome quirks. She was different, she was unique and I love it when an author can shake it up a little with characters and to me Maybe was perfect in every way. I even love her nickname. How different is it? !
Milo was easy to become smitten with, he is a billionaire after all. But he was the typical billionaire that I normally like. Most of the time I got for the Alpha-holes, the jerks, the ones that know they are all that. but milo was different and surprisingly found myself swooning over the character.
He is a prince charming type, a hard worker, and earned every cent he’s got. He had it all… The whole package and I was completely smitten.
**
Milo and Maybe were funny, the awkwardness in the first stage of getting to know one another and becoming friends, and then as the book progressed so did they. They got closer, and as they did the chemistry between the two of them got even more intense and as they got to know each other on a whole other level, and more than friends, you could just tell that this two were made for each other. Everything about them when they were together just felt and seemed right. It was fun, it was light yet intense all in one and it was a delight to read. It had me swooning and smiling like a dork. It was just perfection. both characters were and they were written well.
!!!
I’m not a massive fan of rom-com, I am not a massive fan of swoony reads either but every so often I find a book and/or author and I become obsessed. These two authors are some of those authors and I know for sure that I will continue to come back to their work. It truly fantastic and this book was nothing less than perfect. Extremely well written and it just flowed so easily that I devoured it.

Maybe Willis – real name Mabel (Dad’s name Bruce!!!) – just came back home to New York. To live in her brother’s old apartment and to work at her parents’ flower shop. She’s a 24 year old virgin and she’s back home with her folks! But this is only temporary – she’s done with college and she only needs to find the perfect job in publishing – and then real life can start!
Enter Milo.
He’s her brother’s best friend.
Maybe has been in love with him since she was eleven years old.
And suddenly he’s back in her life and treating her like the little girl she used to be.
But of course he’s not at all thinking of a little kid when he’s looking at grown up Maybe!
He’s horribly attracted, but a buddy’s little sister is always off limits, right??
And when Maybe kinda, accidentally sends him some NSFW texts one day – while possibly under the influence of dentist drugs ….. things are really starting to get interesting! And hilarious!
I adored this story!
It was so funny and sweet and cute and it had lots of Thatch in it again. How can you not love such a book!?
(P.S. should you not know who Thatch is – you’ve obviously been asleep these last few years and need to hurry to amazon and get started with Max Monroe’s first amazing Billionaire Bad Boy series!)
I loved Milo and how he tries to stay strong and not fall for his best buddy’s little sister!
And Maybe is hilarious! She’s not making it easy on him.
I adored the new bestie Lena and all the texts and conversations!
This was an adorable Rom-Com!
I wouldn’t mind seeing this on Netflix one day!
It was a tiny bit too … unsexy for my tastes. There’s sexiness, sexy texts and sexy moments, but we don’t get any real action until the last pages. But it didn’t really hurt the story much – it was just a tiny bit weird.
Also – is it just me that noticed that … I caugh more than a few Fifty Shades steals in here??? The martial arts trainer is called Claude. The virgin part obviously. The billionaire part. The age diffrence. Maybe wants to work in publishing. And more!!!
MY BROTHER’S BILLIONAIRE BEST FRIEND was such an adorable & funny New-York Romance ! Hurry to your nearest amazon for your own Milo – this one is MINE!!!
AND NOW HURRY SEPTEMBER 12 – I NEED CAP’S BOOK ASAP!!!!
I have yet to read a book by the talented author duo that is Max Monroe that I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed. Always hilarious, their romantic comedies pack a one-two punch of steam and story. Creative, imaginative plots, endearing, relatable characters and romances that are as heart-tugging as they are heart-pounding, Max and Monroe deliver the goods every single time. Teetering on the edge of ridiculous, the humor in their stories is the kind of stuff that makes readers laugh audibly, so considered yourself warned should you attempt reading their books in public.
My Brother’s Billionaire Best Friend piqued my interest because I love the brother’s best friend/best friend’s little sister trope, especially when it’s coupled with an unrequited, adolescent crush. I loved Maybe Willis. She was innocently naïve, and she was completely oblivious to the fact that she was gorgeous. Her sense of humor and her slightly awkward social ineptitude made her such a charming character. But it was her drive and determination, the way that she set her sights on what she wanted and made like Nike and just did it that made her the perfect match for billionaire Milo Ives.
Milo Ives, or Billionaireman as Maybe dubbed him, is a pretty down-to-earth guy. Hard working, driven and loyal, he jumps at the chance to help little Maybe Willis with some connections for her job hunt when her brother, Evan, the CFO of Milo’s company, asks. He hasn’t seen her in nearly a decade, and he’s still envisioning the starry-eyed, awkward teenage girl she was the last time he saw her. He was ill prepared for goddess she’s grown into. Her sweet, innocent seduction of him was blistering hot, yet wholly hilarious—thanks to Maybe’s self-appointed new best friend, Lena, the boho-chic trust fund baby/barista/relationship guru. Their love story was unique in that aside from the heat and the humor their journey included, there was also a coming-of-age, poignant quality to it that made Maybe and Milo’s romance totally swoon-worthy, addictive and unputdownable.
My Brother’s Billionaire Best Friend was quintessential Max Monroe—a fantastic blend of sweet, sexy romance and the kind of laugh-out-loud, smiling ear-to-ear humor that readers have come crave this author. A fabulously executed, light-hearted pleasure to read, I devoured this book until my cheeks ached from smiling. Five smooches from me for My Brother’s Billionaire Best Friend by Max Monroe!

I really love the whole premise of this book. The little sister having a crush on her brothers best friend and plotting ways to get him to fall in love with her too! It was super cute and I loved the characters, especially Lena!!! I hope she gets a book! She really evened out Maybe and brought out her wild side.
Love romance with spicy texts! Builds great anticipation.
Maybe is back in New York after finishing her Masters in English Lit at Stanford hoping to land a job in publishing. Until then she is stuck working in her family’s florist shop listening to her dad complain about last flower shipments.
Milo started a tech company right out of college with his best friend at his side. It is now a multi-billion dollar corporation and his best friend Evan is his CFO and runs the Austin branch office.
I love this book and the storyline is hilarious. All the characters are wonderful! Love the Bruce-isms and the friendship between these men is beyond funny. You never know what will come out of Caplin’s mouth.
I love this 2-woman writing team. Their books are hilarious and the characters are amazing. Highly recommend!
Maybe (Mabel’s nickname) has just returned to New York after finishing her degree. She’s looking for a job, and after a run-in with her brother’s best friend realizes she is still crushing on him after all theses years. The texts between them are hilarious, and I love Maybe’s awkwardness while still being confident. Milo is great too! Monroe also does a good job writing friendships – Lena is awesome! This was a fast paced, fun read.
I loved this book. I thought I’d loved the previous Max Monroe book I’d read and reviewed just before I read this one, but this was even better. Although technically, I read out of order, but they’re standalone, so not a huge problem to read out of order, except for the fact that each book seems to be based around groups of friends.
Maybe is hilarious and the banter between her and Milo is really entertaining. I laughed out loud at so much in their story. Milo doesn’t recognise Maybe the first time he sees her in her parents’ florist shop. He hasn’t seen her in ten years, and she was just a kid last time he saw her. She’s changed a bit and he’s attracted to her. He’s taken with her, and helps to get her where she wants to be with her career, but hanging over his head is the fact she’s his best friend’s little sister, and that makes her off limits. The trouble is Maybe’s been in love with him all her life, and when a friend of hers helps her try to catch Milo, well, it gets really funny and really entertaining. I couldn’t put this book down.
This book is SO fun, sexy & relatable. Really enjoyed it! Thank you, Max Monroe, for creating this wonderful world with lovable characters!
Even better then the last book. I have read this teams books since the Iraq first book and loved them all. This book is about Maybe and Miles. Maybe (jThey come up with the best names) is a crazy mixture of nut, naive and nice. Miles is gorgeous and just a good guy let’s not forget he’s a self-made billionaire. I loved all the secondary characters. And, yay!! Thatch is back, I loved Thatch. Loved the story – great read.
I want a Maybe and a Milo in my life! These two are like for real some real people. I Love that Max Monroe’s Billionaires are you typical Jerk who know they have money. Yeah they have it and that’s that. Maybe is a girl we all want as a friend, she so down to earth and I felt a connection with her right away. Milo is they guy you slowly fall in love with, slow burn style. He’s just a great character. The Brother’s sister is a favorite Troupe of mine and this book delivers and with a healthy dose of pure laughter on top!
My Brother’s Billionaire Best Friend is my first Max Monroe book but it most certainly won’t be my last. I absolutely LOVED this story! It’s rip-roaringly funny and I had a smile on my face throughout.
Maybe is one of my favorite characters. She was awkward and fun with a side of innocence. She’s was truly a breath of fresh air. And don’t even get me started on her family! Her parents are ridiculously hilarious. I seriously could not stop laughing, especially at her dad!
Milo is the sexy, unassuming billionaire best friend of Maybe’s brother. He was down-to-earth and his philanthropic side was evident throughout. I love how he stepped up to help Maybe and then went all out to make sure she was taken care of. The chemistry between the two builds perfectly and so many times I wished they’d take the next step but in the end, Monroe makes us wait……and the payoff is well worth it!
My Brother’s Billionaire Best Friend is witty, funny and perfectly written. It’ll make you laugh and snicker and will put a smile on your face throughout. You’ll fall in love with the characters and the storyline as a whole. It’s a definite must-read! 5 stars
This book was a lot of fun and a blast to read. I love the idioms/phrases of the heroine. While I should have been sleeping soundly in bed, I was up into the wee hours and finished in one sitting. Love when that happens.
BROTHER’S BEST FRIEND ROMANCE
Max Monroe has written numerous romantic comedies that have been top favorites of mine so whenever I see they have a new book coming out I always purchase it. Now, while I don’t tend to read them right away (I have to wait for the perfect mood- a mood that dictates HUMOR is a must at the time) I do have a special folder for their novels so when I feel like reading it I can. I do so by finding out which trope will be best for me at the moment (i.e. I was in the mood for a brothers best friend romance so I started this one). That being said, Milo and Maybe’s book is a fun, sassy, and hilarious read! This is exactly what I was expecting and the duo satiated my need in spades. Maybe (that’s the name of our HEROINE) is definitely a character one could consider a potential BFF and I connected with her from the start. I mean those text messages and her inexperience in all things sex and dating had me in stitches! Milo- what a guy! Being a billionaire hasn’t gone to his head in the least. He’s charming, level headed, and a total sweetheart! When you put them both together you can only imagine the sparks that fly! It’s beautiful- especially the end!
Now, while it’s clear I really loved the characters and enjoyed the book (4 stars is good) there were a few things that didn’t jive with me. First and foremast, the relationship aspect was slow. The two didn’t really come together as a couple until about 80% so watching and waiting for it to happen was a little tiresome. I mean, I knew they would end up together (hello, this is a romance!) but the pace of it happening was really drawn out. This would have worked if there was angst within their story but there wasn’t.
Another thing that I didn’t quite care for was how EASY it was for Maybe to get a job at one of the biggest publishing houses in the world. The authors stressed how she sent out hundreds of resumes with no response but when Milo the billionaire swooped in she had it in her hands. Ladies and gents, real life isn’t like this. Had she done it all on her own and faced a few hurdles along the way it would have been much more believable (and respectable). I like my books to feel somewhat realistic and I have to say, this aspect wasn’t. Even more, it sort of grinds my gears because “prince charming” once again steps in and wipes away all problems for the damsel in distress… As per usual in romances. For me, it just gets old after a while.
Other than these two minor things (and I truly mean MINOR as they didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment of the story) I did really love their story. I loved the belly laughs it gave me, the butterflies that swirled around in my stomach when Maybe FINALLY got her wish, and the way the book made me feel all warm and gooey inside. Once again, Max Monroe has written a winner and I couldn’t recommend it more to those who love romcoms.
This is the first time I’ve read Max Monroe. The story is quite cute and hilarious. There were lots of LOL moments. Maybe was a master degree graduate from Stanford in literature, and from the title, her love interest Milo was her brother’s best friend, a self-made billionaire, whom she was crushing on since she was 10. While looking for a publishing job, she was working with her parents at their floral shop, and this was where they met again after over decade (though he couldn’t recognize her). In a way, her brother was the factor that brought them back together. During the process of helping Maybe with her career, Milo started falling for her. Their romance was nothing but funny and awkward. When it came to romance and sex, Maybe was naive and inexperienced, and she wanted to try all the new things with Milo, that triggered a lot of inappropriate text messages. Milo was trying his best to resist his best friend’s little sister but the smart, sassy, quirky, gorgeous Maybe was too tempting.
I really enjoyed the chemistry between Milo and Maybe. Maybe’s new and fast becoming best friend Lena was also a fun character. Maybe’s parents and brother were always supportive, protective of her and believed in her. Now with Milo’s care and love, Maybe was one lucky gal!
I wish to see more of Maybe as a smart and talented woman, in addition to her quirkiness. Although she aced her job interviews at major publishing houses, they were just mentioned and breezed through. It seemed like her education and intelligence were not done justice. All in all, it is an enjoyable, light and fun rom-com that would lighten your mood. Max Monroe has a fun writing style that keeps the story flow well. I’ll check out their other books as well.
Fun, flirtatious and romantic! This is my first in the series and I loved the characters!
A book doesn’t get much more fun to read than this!
Maybe is awkward, quirky, hilarious, and in love with Milo, her brother’s best friend. With the help of her even quirkier new friend, she takes the needed steps to get past friends to “friendly” with Milo. This story includes some of the funniest text messages and situations I’ve ever read…this was just what I needed!
Nice, cute RomCom. Mabel “Maybe” Willis has crushed on her older brother’s best friend Milo since she was eleven and he was seventeen. The haven’t seen each other for about twelve years. Maybe has just finished her Masters in English from Stanford (her parents’ florist shop must be a laundering money for the mob to be able to pay for such a useless degree from one of the most expensive schools in the country, but I digress), and is working in her parents’ florist shop while she looks for a job in publishing. Of course, Milo doesn’t recognize Maybe when he comes in to buy flowers for his mother, which crushes Maybe. This plot point is a bit contrived since just paragraphs before Maybe was described as looking exactly like her mother. So, she works in the family business, looks exactly like the mother, who Milo has seen many times, and he doesn’t put two and two together? Then Maybe goes in to get dental work done, is hopped up on anesthesia, and sends embarrassing texts to Milo asking him to deflower her. Of course, Maybe’s brother asks Milo to help his baby sister get a job using his contacts, and the romance begins. Both characters are likable, the plot is a little cliched, but overall a fun read.
This book is full of sass. It is a fun, fast and easy read. This story is so funny, it had me cracking up from the very beginning. Maybe is a strong woman but it still very much innocent and inexperienced. She is a virgin. When Milo agrees to help his best friends baby sister find a job it was innocent. But quickly turned into more when Maybe started asking him about things she wasn’t experienced with. This relationship blossomed into something more before the two even realized what was happening. Evan, Maybe’s brother has always told his friends she was off limits. Which causes a hiccup in their relationship and they have to find their way back to each other. Such a cute story, very realistic and original. By 80% into the book I was so invested that I felt the sadness so deep that it was almost like I was going through everything she was. Max Monroe is actually two ladies that write together, you cannot tell, everything is so fluid. Well done ladies. I would recommend picking this book if you have kindle unlimited and if you don’t definitely buy it and give it a shot.
