Never fall in love with your boss… cleaning, keep his diary, walk his dogs, and organize his accounts.
I know him as well as a wife would, although unfortunately without the added benefits that role would bring.
I’d tell him how I feel, but he’s made it quite clear he’s against relationships at work, so I know it’s never going to happen unless I leave the Ark, and I love my job.
Then, on the day the Prime Minister’s supposed to arrive at the Ark, his crazy dog knocks me over and gives me a concussion.
And, as if I’m Snow White needing to be awoken from her slumber, Leon kisses me.
Crap. Now we’re in trouble.
How on earth do you un-forget being kissed by your handsome prince?

The Billionaire Kings is set in Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary and features the sons of the heroes from the USA Today bestselling Three Wise Men series of contemporary holiday romances. The books are all standalones, and you don’t have to have read the Three Wise Men to enjoy The Billionaire Kings, but if you have read them you will hopefully have fun meeting up with Brock, Charlie, and Matt occasionally in these stories! This new series takes place approximately thirty years after the Three Wise Men, but it’s not set ‘in the future’. I just thought it would be fun to write a new series that had a connection to one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
Book 1: My Best Friend, the Billionaire
Book 2: My Boss, the Billionaire
more
This is the second book in the series, and I loved it as much as the first.
Nicola has worked for Leon for two years and has wanted him since that day. Leon wants Nicola too, but doesn’t believe workplace romances are a good thing, so he’s refused to admit to his attraction. Until the day Nicola gets hurt by his dog and he kisses her.
I loved the characters but all the animals as well. I hope there are more stories in this series.
A captivating billionaire boss romance!
Serenity Woods has put her own spin on the awesome trope combo of an office romance with a billionaire as the hero. Fans of “Brooklynaire” by Sarina Bowen will rejoice at having another great romance to read! I sure did. I adore the New Zealand setting. Plus, the characters go to a fantastic wintry escape destination that now is on my list of dream vacations. The tone is playful, sometimes serious, and sexy. The perspective is alternating first person. The loves scenes are wonderfully steamy and intimate, with just the right frequency of scenes. I highly recommend this one to all fans of contemporary romance.
Nicola (aka, Nix) is a truly likable, smart, independent woman. She also has a secret past. Anyway, for the last two years, she has worked as the PA for Leon, an altruistic billionaire who works at and co-owns a nonprofit animal rescue and veterinary hospital. He is rather grumpy and OCD, but he is a nice guy with morals. Leon wears fine clothes, drives an expensive car, and owns a helicopter, but, thankfully, he is not full of himself. Since Leon distinctly disapproves of office relationships, he and Nicola have tried to repress their strong attraction to each other. However, the attraction gets out in the open after Nicola’s head injury. Now, what will they do about it?
Wow! Just when I think I know how Serenity Woods’ books are going , she threw in a great twist that I did not see coming. Nix has been working for Leon, for two years, at the Animal Sanctuary he runs with his cousins. There has been an attraction betweeen them, but Leon does not believe in office romances, even thought they are not prohibited. When Nix has a n accident and ends up injured, Leon realizes his feelings for her, and when he takes her away on a business trip, those feelings finally come to the surface. Both of them have secrets in their past that might come between them.
Serenity’s writing pulled me into this story from the very first page. Her descriptive writing made me feel as if I was traveling through New Zealand. Her characters are people I would love to get to know. This was a truly enjoyable read from beginning to end, and left me wanting more.
I highly recommend this book, as well as the first book in this series!
I love serenity’s book I love the happy ending the steamy love scenes and the alpha males
I actually thought Leon and Nix’s story was going to be a somewhat typical tale, with a tiny bit of angst. I was SO wrong.
Leon and Nix each had a secret they were keeping. Their secrets had an effect on their relationship moving forward. Leon’s secret much more so than Nix’s. Nix’s was much more startling.
The change in their relationship was gradual, increasing in strength and heat after the incident at the Ark to becoming explosive during the Milky Way visit.
There was a surprising twist to their love story. I will say there was a good amount of suspense to get through before reaching Mix and Leon’s HEA.
Serenity Woods weaves a story that is quite mesmerizing. Two people who like and respect each other. A relationship that is steamy with sexual tension that ratchets up to explode, but is wrapped in such sensuality that it keeps you fully engaged.
I have said it before and I will continue to say it. This writer’s work leaves me feeling upbeat, positive, and with a smile on my face.
Romantic gently erotic New Zealand travel lust animal rescuing heroes. I loved the scenery in this one I was looking these places up and oohing and ahhing over the beauty. I like the story but it wasn’t a fav couple. He was just so stubborn, pig headed and relentless sometimes it lessened his likability for me. He just wasn’t my kind of guy what can I say.
Leon the hard headed HR for the ARK is a difficult man, rule following taskmaster with no wavering. Nix is a cool headed woman, patient, hard working who has been able to work with leon as his PA for the last 2 years and thrive. When she gets hurt in an accident things start to change, his frozen heart starts to thaw from the hot sparks flying, till he douses it with ice water. It is a struggle to love this guy but Nix does her best. There is a HEA at the end and hope for another character who has been wounded terribly.
I can’t wait to get to the rest of the series I’m invested in this ARK world
Terrific
Leon & Nicola have a great boss employee relationship. She has a crush on him but she understands about dating, he has liked her since she started two years before. But a freak accident and then a meeting takes them out of town puts everything to the test.
I enjoyed this book so much that I didn’t want to put it down. After the experiences that Leon has had, I can’t say that I blame him for not wanting to get involved with Nix, but the heart wants what it wants after all. Especially when going away together on a business trip that turns into sexy times, what did they expect? The trick is, can they deal with the past, or do they let it drive them apart?
We also get another peek at one of the original Kings, this time Leon’s parents- Matt and Georgia. I also want Noah to get his own HEA now too. I have a feeling that it will happen, because he’s had his own share of heartbreak and he deserves it. Yep, I loved just about everything in this book, and I didn’t want it to end.
3.5 rating.
I’ve read just about everything this author has written and have loved every one of those books, so I find myself in very unfamiliar territory with My Boss, the Billionaire. I just could not connect with the two characters, Nix and Leon, they fell flat for me, in fact I found myself jumping forward in the book, which I never do with this author. What I did love was the background stuff, the Dark Sky Reserve, The Milky Way Restaurant, Dark Sky Pod and of course the Ark. The New Zealand setting is stunning, and makes you want to jump on a plane and go see it for yourself. I love the animals at the Ark, Windsong and of course Spike, along with the incredible staff. Not a bad book, just not a great book like I’m used to with this author.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
My Boss, the Billionaire, by Serenity Woods is wonderful. The writing is very smart and interesting and I very much enjoyed it. Her characters are personable, and the world she has built, the animal hospital, etc., called the Ark, in the beautiful Bay of Islands, is described so lovingly and with such detail I totally want to visit, not to mention the other places she describes here, like the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve in New Zealand’s South Island! Wow! Highly recommend this book!
My Boss, the Billionaire is book 2 in The Billionaire Kings Series but I do feel each book can be read as a stand-alone. This series revolves around Noah’s Arc Animal Sanctuary and it’s employees and it’s set in the beautiful New Zealand countryside.
Nicola Dixon is the head of HR at the sanctuary and her direct boss is the very no nonsense Leon King and the most important thing in the long list of rules he lives by is a strict no dating rule for work colleagues. The problem is that both Leon and Nicola have to fight the attraction they feel for each other on a daily basis which makes for a very grumpy frustrated Leon. An accident brings all their feelings to a head and what follows is a very intense romance…….
I love this series, I love the characters, I love how Serenity Woods describes the towns her stories are set in but most importantly i love the loyalty and friendship all the characters share. Can’t wait for the next story from Noah’s Arc Animal Sanctuary.
A Sexy Romance.
After fighting their attraction for two years Leon and Nicola finally get together. However Leon is determined that workplace relationships do not work, so their romance is not without bumps. Plus Nicola’s past comes back to haunt her. As an aside, I loved the special birthday surprise that Leon gave her at the Dark Sky Reserve & Pod – I’ve always wanted to see the Aurora.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
My Boss, the Billionaire by Serenity Woods
The Billionaire Kings #2
Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary is a special place in New Zealand where Nix and Leon work. She is his PA and though they are attracted to one another it is business only between them…at least for awhile. When Nicola is injured one day Leon things begin to change and they change a bit more when they go on business together and he then surprises her for her birthday BUT it takes one more incident to really open his eyes and help him see what is before him and just how precious Nix is to him.
I REALLY enjoyed this book and look forward to more in the series. I want to know about the Albie (and Remy?) and who widowed Noah will end up but also am curious about some of the other people that work at the sanctuary.
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.
5 Stars
5 Star Review of My Boss, The Billionaire ( The Billionaire Kings #2) by Serenity Woods
Serenity Woods has jumped 30 years into the future for this series which is based on the children of the original Three Wise Men series which I have not read. had no trouble reading My Boss, The Billionaire and in fact it is one of my favourites.
Leon and Nicola (Nix) work together and he is adamant that they can never be anything more than co works and friends. Sadly Nix has had feelings for Leon for ages and she is uncertain if she can remain working for him. Despite the obvious attraction Leon has with her he continuously fights it.
I was captivated with their story from chapter one and this was one of those books I could not put down.
Serenity Woods writes with such a depth of description that I found myself transported to New Zealand. It was a magical read for me and never have I wanted a couple to get their happily ever after as much as I wanted it for Leon and Nix.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
