Annie & Marcus are step brother and sister with no sibling love between them. Annie left Blue Mountain for New York, let her family think her life was perfect and didn’t return until her marriage ended. Marcus was picking up the pieces of his life after the death of his wife and he wasn’t ready to see Annie again. While Annie healed from the collapse of her marriage, she did all she could to ignore Marcus. From a distance Marcus watched Annie heal and when she was ready Marcus was there for her. When Annie’s ex-husband returns will it mean Marcus and Annie have lost their second chance at love or will their love win in the end?

This book is definitely one that likes to tug at the heartstrings. I know that this has gotten excellent reviews, but the whole thing was just off to me. I loved the sweet little scene when Annie was born and Marcus’s first reaction to her. But then after that, his emotional responses just didn’t ring true to me. They were always over the top. And I strongly dislike when second chance at romance stories use the plot device of having the hero do an abhorrent act to make the heroine turn away from him rather than him explaining a painful truth. Honestly, it is overdone, and I hate, hate, hate it. I almost stopped reading at this point. The villains in this story are evil, indeed; in fact, too much so. It made them two dimensional to not have any sort of redeeming quality. They’re just bad people who do terrible things. So while I typically enjoy an emotional love story, this one had elements that I just don’t like and don’t work for me.
Annie and her daughter returns to Blue Mountain after her divorce to start her life over. Marcus her step-brother has lost his wife and is also starting over but when his Annie returns he knows to keep his distance since he has always loved her but hurt her in the past so that she would hate him. This is a great story that kept me throughly involved to the point I could not put it down.

This is great book with lots of characters that are well developed and engaging and the storyline flowed smoothly with plenty of twist and chemistry that kept me interested till the end.

I’ve adored reading Francine Beaton’s A Playing For Glory series & feel like wise with A Blue Mountain just as much, though here there’s more ups & downs with how they finally find that they should’ve followed their hearts. Here we have Anna Marie (Annie) Sinclair who has been connected & extremely close from day one towards Marcus Walker. Marcus has always been in love with Annie, but then from being so close & nearly for the everlasting things take a drastic turn for both of them. But it takes a few years after they’ve gone their separate ways from each other and the lives they believed was to be theirs dies….
Come in and see how they leave & if & how things turn out for them….
Although they are stepbrother and stepsister, Marcus has been in love with Annie every since she wrapped her tiny fingers around his fingers as a baby. As the grew their love for each other grew as well. When he talked to his father about marrying Annie he would not give his blessing and told him to wait. To make matters worse Marcus did something foolish that drove Annie away from him. Both suffered and now she is back in town to piece her life back together. Will they also have a chance to rebuild the love they had for each other as well?

Totally enjoyed Marcus and Annie’s story! Hooked from the beginning, entertaining story line! Another good one by Francine! I read an ARC copy of this book.
I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it. A well written story that held my interest throughout. Marcus Walker and Annie Sinclair are stepbrother and stepsister if they had not listened to one woman who wanted to keep them apart for they never would have been separated for eleven years. But what is Marcus keeping from Annie once she finds out will she be able to let him back in her life and that of her daughter’s? I recommend this book.
Francine’s romances are melt worthy. I’m a fan.
