Violets grandfather is not in the best of health, so she needs to find a fake husband stat in order to fulfill his wishes. Ross is Violet’s best friends older brother, and is a renowned playboy, whose reputation is threatening to get him fired from the family business, so he needs some to help improve his image. No spoilers; this is one of those stories which just need to be read, you will not be disappointed! This is a beautifully written story which is this gifted author at her best. This story is emotional, humorous, steamy, and an all round entertaining read, which had me totally captivated throughout. I highly recommend for all readers!
This is a hilarious, sexy, emotional book about two best friends and one of the best friends annoying big brother and where that love/hate relationship goes.
Violet and Abi have been best friends forever and Abi’s arrogant brother Ross has always been around giving Vi grief one way or another. She had the biggest crush on Ross until he constantly gave her a hard time in highschool and then it was game on for her returning the digs anyway she could. When grown up Vi and Ross have life issues that they need each other Abi sets her plan in motion. She pushes the two together and they set off on a fast pace track to their HEA even though they think it is all Fake.
This book has so many levels and is wrapped up with both of the characters families and friends/co-workers. I fell in love with these characters and their friends and loved every page of it.
I received an early copy to read and review and give my honest opinion. This author is my favorite to read. I love everything she writes and it amazes me how each book pulls me in that much more to devour her words. This is considered a Rom-Com and it is definitely romantic and comical but it is so much more. It’s a 5 star book for me, I loved it and I highly recommend it.
At first I found myself thinking ‘let me pick this up and read for a quick ten minutes here and there’ (should have known better that never happens with an Lauren Landish book lol) then an hour later found myself still flipping the pages because I couldn’t put it down. The characters, the whit and banter, the writing itself, all of it had me wrapped up in every single moment. I found myself falling right into the scene, laughing one moments and smiling the next. Totally made me forget the world around me and definitely got some funny looks from my family but I didn’t care as this book is now my all time favourite book by this author and one of the best of 2019 too. You need to grab your copy today as everyone should have an Lauren Landish book in their library. Happy reading!!
A Powerfully Written Story Of Two Adults That Come To Recognize The Love That Has Hidden Dormant Behind Years Of Childhood Pranks!
Violet Russo, about twenty-five, is an up an coming interior designer. Half Italian, the curvy, career-oriented beauty is sweet as pie yet more than capable of mouthing off when motivated. Her social life revolves around her two best friends: lifelong bestie Abigail Andrews and her interior design assistant Archie Hornee.
Vi highly values family, so when her grandfather is given months to live, she feels deeply sorry that he might not have the opportunity that he has looked forward to for so long – to walk her down the isle. But fate seems on her side when she crosses paths with Colin Radcliffe, her old high school boyfriend. Months later, she is two weeks away from walking down the isle next to her grandfather, guests have finalized their travel plans, and yet she finds she has slightly cold feet. Despite the fact that they had been so busy they hadn’t been together in three weeks, she is taken by surprise when Colin breaks up with her in public, claiming he is not ready for marriage.
Ross Andrews, roughly twenty-eight, is somewhat of a local celebrity, even if only because his father is a big shot in the business world. His family represents new wealth, and the society pages often feature his purported exploits. Once the rebellious wild child football star, now he is the hottest bachelor on the market. The attention is exhausting. He is not the playboy portrayed, has even had several relationships, but he is not ready to settle down. Something is always missing.
Ross is a hard-working VP in his father’s company and sits on the board. He remembers his father building the company, so he doesn’t take any of it for granted. He wants to prove himself and take the company to the next level. So it really hits him hard when the coverage of his personal life impacts him professionally. To protect the company, his father lays down the law and orders Ross to settle down. Ross doesn’t like being told what to do, but he finally recognizes that he has no choice if he wants to remain working for the family company.
Vi needs a husband fast, and Ross needs a steady woman on his arm. When Abi Andrews gets her bestie Violet and her brother Ross to sit down together, they quickly realize what she has in mind – which is a little insane since they have hated one another since Violet was ten years old. Ross and Vi have a long history of name calling and pranks. Although they haven’t seen much of one another in the last several years, there is still no reason to believe that they won’t end up murdering one another if they agree to this crazy idea.
Ross and Violet are unforgettable! Now adults, their hostility easily translates into passion. They find themselves deeply connected and in love before they understand it themselves. But their relationship is fake, so they both have trouble admitting to the the feelings for one another that began percolating when they were too young to understand. They both have personal issues that need to be addressed as well before they can move forward. The couple’s chemistry is intense, but what makes them unforgettable is the emotional connection they share. Each page connects the reader deeper to the characters and to their evolving feelings. Ross and Vi truly deserve their HEA!
A minor irritation, there are a few nuggets that pop up and have you watching for them to reappear, but they never do. For example, the pre-nup is discussed and presumed signed, but there is no closure on the issue. It is also unclear if and how Morgan played into that issue. There are rules referenced in an NDA that might have been very entertaining, yet they are only referenced once after the fact, and punishments are never discussed. These issues feel like unfinished business.
Much of the story is serious, and the relationships realistic. The beginning is a little crazy and over-the-top, but is a lot of fun and sets up the fake wedding scenario. There is unnecessary drama later in story when both Vi and Ross try to speak up and are shut down repeatedly. Also, the couple is separated for several days following a big incident, which feels like an unnecessarily long separation. While the time afforded them each an opportunity to work through some issues, they could have done that together as well, and it wouldn’t have felt unnecessarily dramatic.
This story illustrates in several cases that sometimes it only takes time, maturity, and a change in perspective to understand that those who seem entirely opposed to us are simply misunderstood and poor at execution or expression of ideas and opinions, and advice versa. Relationships are complex.
This book is well-written with a complex plot and complex characters. There are only a few minor errors. It is a pleasure to read, with moments that make you laugh and cry. The characters are wonderfully developed. Several supporting characters are worthy of their own books. Kaede and Courtney. Abigail. Archie – there is the hint of a hidden story there, and he is hugely entertaining! I rate this book 4.5 stars.

Ross and Violet have known each other since they were kids, his younger sister has been BF’s with Violet for many many years and while growing up, he treated Violet like an annoying little sister, practical jokes, making fun of her etc. Now Ross is older and finally “sees” Violet for the beautiful woman she has become and they both need each other. He needs her to be his plus one to show his dad he’s matured and she needs him for a wedding…hers…so she can grant her papa his wish of walking her down the aisle as his health is not great. She still sees Ross as the arrogant and annoying boy he used to be but is willing to put up with him for her papa. When the two agree to get fake married, working out all the details on how it’s going to work, not letting anyone know their deal and “pretending” to be in love….what could go wrong???
Oh my goodness what a fun read that had me laughing throughout and the sparks coming off the pages between the two…oh my. I liked how it was day to day account of what was going on and how the two put aside their past and were able to be mature in the present. I LOVED how Ross spoiled Violet and was there for her and I LOVED her crazy crazy family with the banter that me rolling in laughter. The wedding had a bit of a twist and I loved how it all worked out for all of them.

Tender, hot but …
This romance is very well written, and the characters are excellent because of their antagonisms from the past. It right that when Ross was a teenager, he was extremely annoying and seemed to think rarely. I really liked the character of Violet too. On the other hand, I found the narrative a bit predictable, as well as the twists that punctuate the relationship of Ross and Violet.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
This was a pretty good read. The writing flowed well for the most part, although I did feel like the first 20% or so could have been speed up. It just felt like it repeated the same things over. I’m glad I pushed through, because the story did get better. I thought that Ross and Violet had great chemistry, and was happy to see that their bickering didn’t last for most of the book. I knew what the “drama” was going to be as soon as the situation happened, but I was surprised at how horrible their families acted about the whole thing. I felt like the reactions from both sides was a little over the top. Violet was horrible in how she treated Ross too. All he wanted to do was be there for her, but she pushed him away. Everything works out well, and I was happy to see these 2 get their HEA.

Five stars for Violet and Ross.
An addictive best friend brother/fake marriage book! This book gives you everything you love in a romance.
There are funny times, emotional times, and lots of sexy times. You won’t want to put it down. And you’ll be rooting for them the entire book.
In high school Ross and Violet hated each other. Not necessarily hate but they picked on each other their entire high school career. Both going at each other like no other. What they didn’t know was that even though it seemed these two hated each other, that was so far from the actual truth. As the saying goes there’s a fine line between love and hate and these two march right in that thin line.
We watch as these two come up with a plan to “fake” marry so that with Vi’s ailing grandfather gets to walk her down the aisle and Ross’s dad will get off his back. But once these two start their “fake” relationship, feelings seem to shift into high gear and what started out as fake turns into something so much more.
I would highly recommend this book to any romance lover.
Violet’s Grandfather is very important to her and unfortunately has a bad heart. Her new mission is to find a husband so her Papa can walk her down the aisle before his time is up. Fast forward to a fiancé who then decides last minute, he no longer can marry her. Her best friend Abigail stands by her side as she figures out what to do next.
Ross is Abigail’s big brother and has known Violet since she was little. He may have harbored a slight crush on her as demonstrated by the insane amount he picked on her. He is set to take over the family business but forgets just how under the microscope he is with the investors. When a tabloid story breaks, threatening his reputation, he knows he needs to step it up and settle down.
Violet and Ross each have a situation that lends themselves to each other. Can they make a fake relationship and wedding into a future that they both can see? Will the events of the past be too much to overcome in their attempt to move forward?
I can only give 3 ½ stars for this latest release from the author. I just wasn’t drawn in to the overall story line and characters. Violet seemed to repeat herself way too much and Ross felt overly stuck in the past often. I usually like to see some type of growth in characters and I didn’t feel like each experienced that enough for my liking. The story line had great potential but again, from the author, I felt like there were too many words in the book. Some pages of filler could have been removed in my opinion.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an uncorrected copy without expectations. All opinions expressed are my own.
If you are looking for a sexy rom-com with strong H/h, crazy characters, and a lot of laugh out loud moments, this is the book for you. Ross and Violet are great characters, well written, and the type of people you would want as friends. The book was well paced and had great flow. The family and friends were maybe little off the wall, but that’s what adds to the story. I would like to see Ross’s sisters get their own books. Overall, a great read!!
*****I received an ARC and this is my honest review*****
My Big Fat Fake Wedding is absolutely swoon worthy! I loved Violet and Ross they have some great chemistry! This book is a breath of fresh air, it will put a smile on your face and maybe even shed a few tears. I loved it! I am voluntarily leaving my honest review after reading this arc.
A great fantastic fun emotion filled fake romance. This engaging storyline had me hooked till last page turned with so much laughter. It has drama, a broken engagement, old nemesis, incredible banter, some old and new pranks, some whirlwind emotions, romance creating an amazing quicky entertaining story. The character were interesting, enjoyable, and well developed with off the charts sizzling hot chemistry and passion. I voluntarily read and reviewed this incredible ARC.
This is the first book that I have read from Ms. Landish even though I have several on my Kindle and I am not sure why it took so long for me to read her work. I loved this book. It was an enemies to lovers’ romance which I love and add humor and heat to this book and it was a perfect read. Violet is in need of a fake husband and Ross is in need of a fake girlfriend so they decided to use each other. The chemistry between then was smoking hot. Will this fake marriage be able to turn into something real? You will need to read it to find out. I don’t think that you will be disappointed.

How many things can go wrong before things go right? That’s what happens to Violet but during her journey to get married before her grandfather passes away, I was highly entertained. Ross is perfect for her even if they don’t want to admit it. This is the perfect fake marriage, best friend’s brother, enemies-to-lovers type of romance. I could not put it down.

Ross and Violet’s story is epic. While reading this book ALL characters felt more and more acquainted, almost like extented family…that is how lovingly and detailed created they are.
There is lots of hilarious banter, tons of teasing that made me laugh out loud. But there is lots of drama, too, when fate threw Ross and Violet a curveball out of left field.
The characters felt genuine and heartfelt, sometimes overbearing, sometimes like silly kids that have to grow up and proof themselves to each other to gain their happily ever after.
With all these emotions and drama, attraction and hot chemistry this book is entertainement and a page turner par excellence.
