Gee, no pressure.
But I can grant that wish…
I just have to fake being head over heels in love with Ross Andrews, my best friend’s big brother whom I embarrassingly crushed on all through high school.
Handsome. Knockout sexy. Arrogant jerk extraordinaire.
Our childish pranks and tit-for-tat battles were legendary. Then I grew up.
Not that he ever noticed.
I know it’s a terrible idea, and we’re both in over our heads.
It could be the wedding of a lifetime or a total disaster.
How do we make it to the altar without killing each other first?
Or without falling in love for real?
My Big Fat Fake Wedding is a full-length romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger.

I couldn’t put it down! What a love story… an emotional roller-coaster. We all can relate to where Violet’s heart is at; why the fake wedding comes to be in the first place. I do however draw the line with eating only eggs for several days. Hilarious, heart-warming and at times a tear jerker. And the sex…. HOT! HOT! HOT!
I’m sorry to say but I wasn’t a fan, at all. I was rolling my eyes more than reading. I felt there was immaturity on both sides and the over all reasons for the fake relationship / marriage was silly. I couldn’t connect with the characters and really didn’t care if they got their HEA. The writing didn’t flow well, I was having to go back and re read sentences to make sure I understood the content. I’m sure plenty will disagree with me but these are my thoughts and my opinion.

I love a good enemies to lovers story and this is one of those. As always, Lauren does a great job with the dirty talk.
I really enjoyed the book. It was cute and hot at the same time. I loved the characters. They were interesting as well as funny. There where some laugh out loud times and some times where the characters made me mad which is a good thing. It means I was invested in the characters. I only have a few reasons why it wasn’t 5 stars for me. First the premise of Violet being engaged dumped and engaged again all in a day was a bit much even for a romance book. It was ridiculous that all of the wedding details stayed the same and just plug in a different man’s name on everything. That was tacky. Secondly I didn’t care for Violets inability to have a backbone when it came to her family. They all just ignored her thoughts as if they were insignificant. Every time she tried to tell them something important they would talk over her as if she wasn’t talking. Thirdly and really less important I thought the title was a play on words from my Big Fat Greek Wedding but the family were Italian. Anyway the book was good and I enjoy reading by this author. I want Abi to have her own story. Until next time y’all happy reading.

I liked this book. Violet is a kick butt woman who doesn’t put with Ross’s harassment. She loves her family and is a loyal and loving. All of the characters are great but I really loved Violet’s family. They put a smile on my face throughout the whole book and kind of remind me of my family.
This is Violet and Ross’s story. Violets grandfather has a bad heart and the docs are giving him 6-12 months to live. Violet is determined to marry before her grandpa dies so he can walk her down the aisle.
Ross is Violets best friends’ older brother. He has been tormenting Violet for most of their lives. Ross can be an immature jerk. Ross is in trouble in the media and for once he did nothing wrong. He’s given an ultimatum to fix his mess up or else. After Violet gets dumped by her fiancé, she and Ross decide to team up to help each other out. They both get something out of their fake marriage. Should be easy right? What happens when feelings get involved?

This book was predominantly funny, with the situations and secrets piling on the humor. The romance was sweet with a little bit of steam. The characters were interesting and well rounded.

Scorching hot enemies-to-lovers fake engagement romance!
I gotta say, I loved everything about this book right up until the “big secret” was revealed. We have a wonderfully deep story with well-thought out characters whose interlinked history is explored for maximum emotional impact. The gradual changes in both Ross and Violet were believable, hot, and heartwarming. The extended family interactions were such a joy to read. The format – alternating POV set against a countdown clock – was brilliantly done, and kept the sense of urgency in the forefront of the reader’s mind.
Just when you think the HEA is just around the corner, the big reveal is dropped like a bomb that set fire to the entire story, and it was close to being Just Too Much. Of course the characters had to face the harsh truths that led them to that point, but there was just so much drama and heartbreak all at once that it made it very difficult to read on to the It’s-About-Time HEA.
The first 80% is a glorious five-star read, and I almost wish it could have ended there. But as Ross says at one point, “‘Embrace the crazy’ is going to be our new motto.” And this book certainly accomplishes that. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
So hilarious in many aspects from all the characters to the over the top society/Italian wedding. Loved the witty banter between Violet and Ross, plus the backstory from them is pure gold. There is a thin line between love and hate especially when your tormentor is your best friends older brother, great play on words throughout the entire book.

My Big Fat Fake Wedding by Lauren Landish a five-star read that will take you down the aisle. What a fantastic story, this will have you desperate for a little Italian Nana and an Italian brood to go with her, I love my own Nana and she is so special to me much like Nana and Papa are to Violet, grand-parents are always so much more special that parents I’ve found. Lets face it we would all do something crazy for a dying wish for one we love, so I couldn’t fault Vi for her reasons forgetting hitched, and good on her for not fighting for Colin, he just makes me want to spout some bad words in Italian. Lauren Landish writes a great Romance and will make you fall in love with all of her characters.
