Lucinda Hayward Duvall, of the Designer-class Duvalls on Alpha-Prime, has never quite fit the mold in her noble family. Her four sisters are more beautiful, their behavior more acceptable and their bearing far more regal than she could ever pull off. Even so, she’s happy enough with her books and her routines and to fall in line with the marriage arranged by her demanding parents. Until a chance … chance encounter with a handsome stranger at a galactic way station on a wild and wonderful colony planet makes her question everything she’s ever known.
Easygoing Axel Grey, second son and head of communications for the family business at the Big Bang Truck Stop in Alienn, Arkansas, doesn’t care a lick of spit for protocol or pompous off-world VIPs. On the other hand, he has all the time in the world for a captivating young woman with red-streaked hair, a mesmerizing smile and a contagious sense of wonder. One stolen dance in a convenience store doorway later and he’s ready to give Lucy anything … including his heart.
Lucy basks in Axel’s admiration, blossoming under his regard like a flower starved of sunlight. In their too-short time together, he makes her feel amazing instead of awkward, a treasure instead of an obligation.
Of course, a future together is impossible. Her mother has seen to that.

This was a great story. It was well written and fast paced. The chemistry between the characters was sizzling hot. This book has everything you need to keep you turning pages hot sexy men, steamy scenes and some conflict thrown in. I cannot wait for what this author writes next.

3 stars – I liked it
Lucinda Hayward Duvall, of the Designer-class Duvalls on Alpha-Prime, has never fit in with her noble family. She doesn’t want to spend her time dressing up, decorating, and socializing. She would rather stay at home, read a book, and not think about her arranged marriage. But when she meets Axel Grey of Earth’s galactic waystation she instantly wishes for a different life, one with Axel.
This book made me both happy and frustrated. First off, I really loved how Axel and Lucy met. I love the joy that Lucy had with every new experience on Earth. What I didn’t love was that she refused to stand up to her parents about her feelings. She started to, but quickly just gave in after one tiny argument. It was really disappointing that she was willing to go along with their plans to marry her off to someone else. Axel was just as disappointing in this regard too. He doesn’t put up a fight for her either.
I liked Lucy’s sister Francine because she was a very sweet woman who put a plan in place to make her sister happy. She isn’t afraid to give up everything she has known for happiness. I just wish Lucy had been more willing to do that. I really want to see her find happiness now because she deserves it.
So like I said, this book made me happy because Axel and Lucy do get to be together but it also frustrated me by how much of a wimp they both were about not standing up to their parents, especially after both complained about how archaic arranged marriages were and they should be stopped.
She was never like her sisters who seemed so much better than her in every way. She goes with the flow and even agreeing to a marriage but then she meets him. they fall hard and now they just want each other until her mother buts in. Will they ever be together? See if they can

Axel, the communications chief at the Big Bang Truck Stop/Alien Port, was on his way to meet Director Patmore of the Royal Caldera Forte cruise liner. First though he meets Lucy and they have a mutual attraction. Unfortunately the curse ship needs to leave early leaving Axel little time to find Lucy and convince her to stay. He thinks she works on the ship but in reality she comes from a very prestigious family and that means she already has a pre arranged marriage.
This is a great cozy romance filled with sacrifice, love, kindness and caring. It also has amazing characters that get you involved in the story. It seems impossible for the story to have a happy ending with all the twist, turns and surprises the characters have to deal with. I was particularly touched by the caring the two sisters had for each other. Traditions versus progress in terms of relationships is explored giving more depth to the storyline. It is a great addition to the series.

It just stinks to be promised by your parents to one person, then be in love with another. It’s even worse when you’re promised to your true love’s sister! Yikes! Plus the bride’s family is absolutely horrible and oh so snobby. How will this ever work itself out?
I really enjoyed this light romance. Always do enjoy these alien books!

I am honestly unsurprised to find an alien way station in Arkansas. Yes I have extended family there.
The extended family who runs the so called Truck Stop is made up with one single daughter and a whole flock of strong young Alpha Prime males. All the boys seem to have a penchant for falling for folks who wander through their family place of business. Given restrictions against marrying the natives, unless they happen to also have Alpha blood, this is also unsurprising. Given an apparently nearly medieval class system among the Alpha planets, chaos is sure to follow.
Given a penchant for arranged marriages, fun and hilarious, if occasionally heartbreaking, interactions and adventures are also likely. Sometimes love and creative family members find a way.
With Aunt Dixie holding great sway, exciting twists are fairly guaranteed.
An amusing series, that is easy to read as stand-alones – and always worth a good laugh – especially if you love quirky and irreverent characters!

Of the four books in this series that I have read so far, this is by far my favorite. The characters were more relatable than in the other books. I know, they’re aliens! Axel and Lucy’s story grabbed me more than the others. Her selflessness is amazing and his love for her is also. Even knowing there was going to be an HEA, the journey was different from the usual romance. Definitely good reading.

Sometime being #3 lets you dance with your dream. Axel Grey, left in charge because his brothers took time off, met Lucy in the doorway. He was enchanted and danced with her. Lucy was equally enchanted and danced with him. Axel thought Lucy worked on the liner and didn’t know she was royalty. Lucy’s parents thought they were doing her a favor arranging a marriage for her. Lucy and Axel are in love. The arrange marriage is not with each other. Can Lucy get out of it? Can Axel be considered a valid suitor? What will Axel’s family think? This is a delightful story helped by Axel’s charismatic personality. The characters are delightful and this series is amazing. Well done! I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.
Book three in the Alienn, Arkansas a well written story that held my interest until the end. Lucinda Hayward Duvall really had some snobbish parents that thought they where better than everyone. Lucinda meets Axel Grey and they find they have feelings for each other they will have a lot to go through to get their happy ending. I hope Francine gets a story. I have enjoyed reading this series. Lucy and Axel were in for quite a roller coaster of an adventure. Their relationship was up and down from the beginning to the end but they hung on. I really enjoyed the characters in this story and the story was a lot of fun.

It is brother Axel’s turn for romance! The woman he thinks is just a worker on board a ship visiting the way-station is actually from one of the more prominent families on Alpha-Prime. She has never fully felt appreciated there but has lived the life that has been proscribed for her—including agreeing to an arranged marriage. Meeting Axel gets her thinking about the possibilities.
This is now the fourth books that I have read in this series about Alienn, Arkansas. Like the rest, I thoroughly enjoyed this installment. There’s delightful tongue-in-cheek humor that at times borders on slapstick with great turns of phrase. The pacing of the book is right on. I love getting glimpses of the other characters I’ve come to know and love, like the other Grey brothers and their Aunt Dixie. Axel was sweet when he just fell for her so quickly, not really know that much about her. He is a simple man who just wants the woman of his dreams.
Big Bang Truck Stop in Alienn, Arkansas, was a way station for interstellar travelers. Axel Grey ran down to the gift shop to get a bottle of water before he had to meet with Director Patmore from the luxury cruise liner that just docked. This was normally a meeting Cam would cover, but he was out today and Axel, as communications chief, was his back-up.
Axel stepped through a door to the convenience area as a lovely woman tried to exit. They tried to move aside but mirrored each other and still could not proceed. After a third such attempt, Axel told her this meant they had to dance – so they did! Patmore stepped up behind him and pointed out he was 4 minutes late for their meeting. He would rather still be dancing with Lucy! Then an alert came in about a volcano erupting along the cruise liner’s route. This mean the cruise liner would have to leave immediately to accommodate the once-in-a-hundred-years blast on the volcanic planet’s surface, and that meant he wouldn’t see Lucy again for 10 days.
Axel figured his lovely dance partner, Lucy, must be working for her rich employers which is why he didn’t see her during his final inspection of the cruise liner before takeoff. He didn’t realize “Lucinda Hayward Duvall”, one of the Designer-class Duvalls on Alpha-Prime, belonged to a noble family. Furthermore, her parents had set her up for an arranged marriage. When Axel and Lucy realized how they feel about each other, how would she get out of the arrangement and be free to marry the man who truly treasures her?
This is a really terrific series! The story lines in these books are excellent and well-paced. The characters are likable, and keeping us in touch with characters from the previous books, such as crazy lovable Aunt Dixie and Axel’s brothers, keeps the reader right in the middle of this family of aliens trying to keep a low profile and do the right thing while chaos breaks out around them! This is such an enjoyable book with tons of humor. Grab your copy and see if you don’t agree!
This series has been a really good read so far. I enjoy reading this author’s work and the introduction of an alien series made me unsure. However, this author has done an amazing job of making this series such an entertaining read. The characters you can’t help but fall in love with, human or alien. The story line is solid and the humor that is also tossed in there is great. This book we get to meet Lucy and Axel. Lucy is a book worm, routine driven alien woman who has these amazing beautiful sisters. She doesn’t feel like she measures up. Her parents have arranged a marriage for her and she fine with that until she travels to Earth and meets Axel Grey. Axel Grey is the head of communications at the Big Bang Truck Shop in Alienn, Arkansas. He has an easy going nature that doesn’t play favorites or give anyone specialty treatment, no matter who they are. Both Lucy and Axel have been promised to marry someone else but end up falling hard for one another. Now to solve the problem of ditching the arranged marriage to marry one another. This story makes for a fun and entertaining read. I am interested in seeing what happens next and will continue to follow this series.

This is the 3rd book I have read in this series, and I love them all. They are funny, quirky and very clean. Of course there is romance, but no heavy sex scenes, which is nice for a change. I love that the family are aliens from another planet, to the human world they own and operate a truck stop that is actually a stop-over for traveling spaceships underneath of it. Very unique story line. On to the next book.

It is bad enough when a terran socialite and a terran tradesman fall in love. It gets worse when an alien socialite from a galactically celebrated family falls in love with an earthling-in-all-but blood. Throw in an arranged marriage to other people and hilarious problem-solving ensues, with the greatest problem being solved by.someone other than the unhappy lovebirds. So sweet, so romantic, so angsty, so funny…. (So, what happens to Francine?)

I am still amused by this series and have moments of giggle fest. This one had a little predictability one little detail basically gave away a key scene, but it was still a fun read. I love learning all about how the author is world building…er, um, truck stop building with quirky characters that always seem to pop up when you least expect them. I look forward to reading more about the Big Bang Truckstop.
