This book leaves you with such a fantastic feeling. A little bit “An Affair to Remember” and a little “My Best Friend’s Wedding” this story is full of laughter, love and lust. Tori and Josh are such great characters and Josh’s family is so funny and lovable. This is definitely a must read.

My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding is book 1 of the Boys of the Bayou series by Erin Nicholas with another hot, sexy bartender!!
Josh and Tori met at the Bourbon O bar where he was working during Mardi Gras with nothing but talking and some hot kisses they decided to meet back at the bar one year later if they were both single and still interest…fast forward one year later…Tori is back in town for Mardi Gras, Josh and her best friend’s wedding as one of the bridesmaids (her BFF is the groom). She heads back to the Bourbon O bar looking for Josh and thinking he’s not working but waiting in the the bar she goes up to him and lays a kiss on him only she accidentally lays one on the groom instead..
The bride sees this and thinks Tori wants to ruin the wedding, the groom is having second thoughts after the mistaken kiss, and Tori still hasn’t found Josh yet…
What a rollercoaster ride built with lots of steam, laughter, romance, twists, turns and a fun read!!
This is book one in the Boys of the Bayou series and it features Josh and Tori. These two have explosive chemistry and it shows when they’re alone together but add Andrew to the mix and the chemistry just gets all mixed up and shoved to the side. Even her normal quirky and fun personality changes when she’s around Andrew, which was VERY irritating. Needless to say, neither Tori nor Andrew made the list of characters that I liked even a little. Josh is totally amazing! He’s sexy, charming and is not afraid to admit that he’s been popular with the ladies in the past. His family is equally amazing. I mean who wouldn’t want a grandma like Ellie?
I’m definitely looking forward to the next book by this fabulous author.
Oh my gosh, this story is unbelievable. And by unbelievable, I mean unbelievable amazing. I loved every word of this book. I couldn’t stop reading it once I started it, it’s that amazing. It has it all – fun, flirty, a lot of second-guessing, a bit of tension, some jealousy too and very steamy scenes, a hunk of a guy and a girl made just for him, plus southern drawls that you could actually hear with every word you read. Erin Nicholas thank you for this story. Did I say it was amazing…it was spectacular. I didn’t want it to end but couldn’t wait to see what happened next. I absolutely loved the characters. The story was so wonderful in describing the characters and the scenes, I felt like I was part of it. Oh to see the ballroom scene…so wish I could have been there along with so many others. What a wonderful start to this new series. I enjoyed it so much I can’t wait until the next one. This one will grab you from the beginning and will have you falling in love with all the characters, well most of them. You’ll have to read it to find out which ones to love or not. Excellent book!!
Erin did not disappoint. I couldn’t put this book down. I loved that this was a spin off of another great series and can not wait to read the rest of this series.

If you love Erin Nicholas books as much as I do than you will definitely love this one. I guarantee you will fall in love with Josh and Tori. This is definitely a must read.
Oh my goodness, I have a new book boyfriend!!! Seriously, this newest book from Erin Nicholas got me in all the best ways! I was already pretty in love with her “Boys of the Big Easy” series (which if you haven’t read yet, RUN do not walk, and go read those because WOW), so I was open to this new sort of cousin-ly offshoot series. But to be honest, I didn’t expect to LOVE it the way I did. But this one is really fun. It plays on all those lovely “serendipity” and “missed connection” fantasies…where you meet the right guy in the wrong place at the wrong time, and maybe if all the stars align, you might meet again? In this case, Josh and Avery meet accidentally during Mardi Gras, when Josh is tending bar and completely IN his element and Tori is visiting from Iowa and completely OUT of her element. They have an amazing connection, but she’s very practical and rooted in Iowa, so they say goodbye. But he tells her to meet him, next year, same time, same place….and see. This alone TOTALLY got me. I’m a sucker for the “affair to remember” scenario. BUT it got BETTER from there if you can believe it. Well, if you’ve ever read Erin Nicholas, you can believe it! Josh has always been a player, but Tori got to him on a level no one else ever has…so he’s been WAITING for her. {sigh}. As we get to know Tori, we learn that the men in her life (her father and her best friend) have been sort of putting her in a box, keeping her “contained”. HATED that. LOVED Tori, and loved watching Tori blossom. {sigh}. Ok, writing this makes me want to go back and re-read this book again, so I’ll wrap up. Seriously, Erin Nicholas’ strength has always been the depths of her characters. She’s great at the super sexy stuff too, and there’s plenty of that here, but its the characters that make her books special. Her characters feel like real people to me (maybe a little prettier, but oh well). They feel like people I can worry about and care about and root for. I seriously wanted to go knock heads together for Tori as I was reading this book, a few times. I really enjoyed getting to know Tori and Josh, and as always, I loved getting to know all the characters around them as well. (except for her best friend. Hmpf. HIM I did NOT like.) Honestly, this is another home run for Nicholas, and I can’t wait to read the next one in this series. In the meantime, I’m going to go back and re-read this one.

This was such a cute story to listen to with some funny moments thrown in. Listening to these characters makes me wish they were real and I could go hang out with them. Josh is a tour guide for the bayou but before that he was a hot bartender in New Orleans and had met Tori a beautiful quirky and a bit awkward veterinarian and there was an instant connection. They had agreed if they were both single they would meet up again the next year. Tori is back in New Orleans for her best friends wedding and she accidentally kisses him thinking he was Josh under his mask. Now she finds herself seeking Josh’s help in pretending to want to be with her, so everyone doesn’t think she is trying to ruin the wedding. Love listening to this story. Each narrator reads a chapter or two. If I would have any complaint is that the characters voice is changed when the narrators do their version. I love when Neill does Josh and gives him the southern accent. I really love the interaction when the family comes together they sound like a fun group to hang around. Can’t wait to listen to the next book in this series.
This is such a fantastic start to this series. Who can resist falling in love with a boy from the bayou? And Josh is such a sweetheart. He loves to flirt and tease women but when a brunette from Iowa comes in the bar where he is bartenders, he falls fast. Normally he’d have no issue having a one night stand but there is something different about Tori. They agree that they will meet again in one year if they are both interested.
Tori is a veterinarian from a small town in Iowa. She is know for doing impulsive things, but can it be possible that she is still attracted to a guy that she only spent 6 hours talking to a year ago? She has the perfect excuse to look him up when her best friend gets married in New Orleans.
This book had me laughing out loud so many times – and not just a slight giggle, actual laugh out loud. They are such a cute couple and I’m glad they got their happily ever after. Now on to the rest of the series.
If you thought the Boys of the Big Easy were great books, wait until you read Josh and Tori’s story! My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding is why I read romance. These two are my favorite Erin Nicholas characters to date and that’s saying something! You met Josh Landry in The Boys of the Bayou series before. He’s one of the bartenders at Trahan’s but he’s also one of the Swamp Boat tour owners. Tori Kramer was in New Orleans last Mardi Gras and met Josh. They hit it off and made a pact that if neither one was involved with anyone else that they would meet up again next Mardi Gras. Well next year has arrived and Tori is in town for her best friend’s wedding! These two find each other again and Josh’s plan is to make Tori never want to leave. These two are so sweet together and the cast of characters is going to make you want to run down the the Bayou and have some crawfish pie! This rom com has it all, fun characters, laugh out loud moments and there’s always the heat of the Big Easy.
Hot, sweet, sexy, and so darn good I couldn’t put it down and read it practically in one sitting! Josh Landry is what you would think of as a typical playboy bartender but when Tori sits down across from him and he serves her a hurricane and she wrinkles her nose because it is too sweet, he is hooked. After talking for an hour and following her out the door to kiss her senseless before she goes back to her hotel and then another 5 hours the next night with the same hot kiss outside the bar, she refuses to give him her phone number for fear he would not call but he makes her a promise he will meet her back at that bar a year from then on Mardi Gras. A year later, Tori is back in New Orleans for her best friend’s wedding and eventually makes it to that bar but Josh is nowhere to be found but a man in a mask who she mistakes for Josh is and she kisses him. It turns out to be the groom, her best friend, and this starts out all sorts of fun. The groom, Andrew, kisses her back, the brides catches them and freaks, no one believes her about Josh, and she comes up with the decision she is going to have to find Josh. So, off to Autry the next day she goes and not only does she find Josh but his family and she finds crazy but home. Crazy, sexy, spontaneous, and so much FUN I don’t know how my kindle was able to contain it all. This is a must read!
Holy Cow!!!! This was my first book from this author, but it will not be my last!
This is book 1 in the Boys of the Bayou and I am dying to get my hands on the next book. Once I started reading I was hooked and could not tear my eyes away. Even when I had to stop reading for a moment, my mind was still thinking about this book and what I thought was going to happen next.
Tori and Josh had such amazing chemistry and I absolutely fell in love with both of these characters as well as Josh’s entire family! I loved this story line and although I had predictions about what I thought was going to happen, I still was surprised time and time again. There were moments I was laughing out loud at some of the predicaments Tori found herself in, but I loved how Josh supported her and encouraged her to be the crazy, animal loving girl that she was.
This is a must read book for sure! You will not be disappointed! – By Alisa
Erin Nicholas is a relatively new author to me so when I got the opportunity to start at the beginning of her new series I jumped at the chance and let me tell you if this book is anything to go by Boys of the Bayou is going to be a great series!!!! The story is as hot as a Bayou summer and the crazy loveable residents of a small Louisiana town all go towards making this a perfect read.
Josh met Tori in a bar where he helped out for Mardi Gras but after a hot steamy night of passion he sends Tori on her way with the promise of him being there for her if she still feels the same about him this time next year. Tori is back in town for her best friends wedding but with all the crowds and wedding duty she misses Josh at the bar but she is not going to give up and she manages to track him down. What follows is two people getting to know each other as they form a friendship and fall madly in love…………
This book has all the feels you want in a great read, I laughed, I sighed, I giggled and smiled like a Cheshire Cat and all that’s left for me to say is “this is a must read”. I now need to start playing catch up on this author’s previous books because I’m sure they are going to be right up my street.
Josh and Tori’s love story in My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding by Erin Nicholas, book one in her Boys of the Bayou series, grabbed me and didn’t let go from the moment I read page one. We have Josh Landry, the hottest part-time bartender and player wanting every visitor to love his home state of Louisiana. Once he meets Tori and shares only goodnight kisses he knows he’s met the one. Before she went home to Iowa, they made a promise to meet up again next year if they’re both interested. Here it is a year later, during which time Josh was celibate, waiting to see if she returns to New Orleans. Oh boy!! Tori returns, hoping to meet up with Josh again, not having forgotten him, but she’s there’s for her best friend’s wedding; only problem is her best friend is a guy and the groom. Reaching the bar, hoping to find Josh she accidently kisses her best friend, the groom, thinking he was Josh. However, no one believes it was really a case of mistaken identity and that she’s there to ruin the wedding. Her solution, find a crazy-about-her boyfriend ASAP. Even if he is just faking that he’s into her. There’s only one other person she knows in Louisiana, not that Josh needs to be pretending. Josh is all in. In fact, he’s thrilled. The problem is the groom is suddenly overprotective of Tori, not wanting her to fall for Josh and spend time with him. This sudden case of cold feet is not looking good for Josh’s chances to win over Tori or the wedding to take place.
This book contains a cast of characters one would only find in an Erin Nicholas story. The Landry family and their bayou tour business is a chance for the Landry boys to meet girls. The Landry men are known to fall in love immediately once they encounter the right one. Yes, right away. I could not believe that Tori’s dad or her bff were embarrassed by her behavior. She was an amazing, passionate person who was never understood. At least until she met Josh and his family; where she fits in perfectly. Choosing between her bff and Josh could have been difficult, but Tori knew which one was the perfect fit for her to spend her life with. In fact, if Tori didn’t want Josh I would have taken him!!
Ms. Nicholas wrote a wonderful, humorous, challenging, and sexy story that is not to be missed. This story is filled with sexual chemistry, fun dialogue, and endearing characters. I highly recommend this book to other reader and cannot wait for the next book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Every time I pick up a new Erin Nicholas book, I know I’m going to have a new favorite story, a new keeper, a new book boyfriend, a new “you’ve GOT to read this!” My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding is no exception.
Victoria Kramer, known to her friends as Tori, and Josh Landry meet in a bar during Mardi Gras. He’s been working as a bartender, she was there to kill some time before she returned home from vacation. They enjoyed a couple hours of conversation and a sweet kiss, neither wanting to admit that the intense connection they shared seemed way too good to be true. Tori is typically not one to throw caution to the wind in matters of the heart. But Josh, not wanting to completely lose the chance to build on this never-before experienced click, asks her to consider meeting him in a year if they haven’t forgotten about the other before then.
It’s a little bit An Affair to Remember, right? Especially since a year later, Tori’s back in New Orleans because her best friend Andrew is getting married. For Tori, it’s given her a reason to be back in town. And due to some crazy pre-wedding chaos, she needs to produce a boyfriend who’s absolutely head-over-heels for her. Josh? He’s fully onboard with this plan.
Erin Nicholas writes the stories we all want–they remind us of how incredible it is to find the one–someone who gets us, who sees all the quirky parts of us that others might want to smooth over or hide, but this person TREASURES. Nothing is as satisfying as that–having that sense of knowing and being known and found precious. Ms Nicholas writes this beautifully. Tori and Josh are definitely quirky and fascinating. They are also real and vulnerable and appealing. We get to know them and their family and friends. And we get to see how when we are willing to let down our walls, magic truly happens.
Another strength of Ms Nicholas’s writing is how the couple is part of a strong, loving community. Josh and Tori are surrounded by friends and family who are both the best and occasionally worst things about not being alone 😉 These people are funny, persistent, insightful, and sometimes just plain annoying, just like the people we love best and who love us best.
Ultimately, this is one wedding not to be missed. And I cannot wait for my next visit to the bayou, where we get to spend a little more time with the Landrys. Here’s hoping we’ll get to visit with Grandma Ellie and Grandpa Leo again! 😉
Oh I just love this wild down home cajun romance. The author has done an outstanding job giving us a touch of Mardi Gras, Cajun Bayou life, Romance Cajun style and lots and lots of laughs. The characters are all a hoot and will have you feeling right at home throughout the storyline.
Josh is a bartender and lives on the bayou. Tori is from Iowa just in town for Mardi Gras. They meet when Tori enters the bar and orders a drink. The chemistry is off the charts but acting on it would be heartbreaking, as this is Tori’s last night in town before she heads back to her life in Iowa. But before she leaves, they agree if they still have feeling for each other, to meet up next year at Mardi Gras.
The year flies by and it’s Mardi Gras time in New Orleans again. Tori is town for her best friend Andrew’s wedding. Feeling so out of place with the high class wedding party, she goes to the bar to try and find Josh. This is where the story takes off. When Tori enters the bar she thinks she found Josh so she goes up to him and kisses him only to find out she’s accidently kissed the groom (Andrew); in front of the bride no less. Tori tries desperately to convince everyone it was a mistake; you see everyone was wearing Mardi Gras masks and the guys are sorta built the same, not to mention the crowd in the bar on Bourbon Street. She tells them she thought she was kissing her new boyfriend, Josh. Of course no one believes this because she’s never mentioned Josh before. So now she needs to find him and see if he’ll be her date for the wedding. Holy Cow between Josh’s crazy family, Josh’s adoration for Tori, Tori’s quirky side, the bridal party all being stuck up snobs and Andrews over protective side, Tori finds herself in quite a mess.
This is a wonderful read that you don’t want to miss. It will keep you smiling, laughing and entertained from start to finish. Kudos Ms. Nicholas for a job well done and this reader is looking forward to book 2 in the Boys of the Bayou series. 2 Thumbs and 5 stars for this must read RomCom.
Im not sure how you always find a way to captivate me but you do! My Best Friends Mardi Gras Wedding is the first book in this awesome series. Josh and Tori are dynamite. Hot chemistry, sparks hot enough to burn you, and some laugh out loud moments that consume you. Thus is everything and more that you would expect from Erin Nicholas.
Emotionally thrilling, Sexy, Fun and everything I have come to love about this crazy fun series…. could not put this story down once I started reading it (so many thing went undone on my to do list, but so worth it) Loved this engaging and undeniably entertaining adventure that left me happy yet wanting more…
This book deserves way more than 5 stars!
A sexy playboy New Orleans bartender who waits a year (a year!) for the love of his life. A gorgeous (slightly awkward) vet who collects random pets. A fake relationship that never really felt that fake. Yup, I loved every single thing about this book.
Josh and Tori have so much chemistry but it was Josh’s total acceptance of Tori’s…quirkiness that stole my heart. I know I will be rereading this one soon and can’t wait for more from the Landry family.
My Best Friends Mardi Gras Wedding. This was one very sexy and hot read and is one of my all time favorites. The chemistry between Josh and Tori ignite right from the beginning and last all the way to the end. All the side characters are funny and totally add to the story. Erin did an amazing job, this is the kind of story that makes your heart beat a little harder and smile a little bigger. Absolutely loved it and I would give it more than 5 stars if possible.
