A USA Today bestseller! A small town, fake boyfriend romantic comedy. Josh Landry is one of the hottest bartenders in New Orleans. He’s shown many a female tourist that things are definitely big and easy down here. And he’s now been celibate for a year. Because he finally met her.Yes, her. The One.But, after nothing more than a hot goodnight kiss and a promise to meet up again next year if … than a hot goodnight kiss and a promise to meet up again next year if they’re both still interested, she went home to Iowa.
It’s been a long year.
But now it’s Mardi Gras again and he’s ready for his happily ever after.
If she shows up.
***
Oh, she shows up. For her best friend’s wedding.
But Tori is a terrible bridesmaid because all she can think about is her knight-in-shining-Mardi-Gras-beads from last year.
Well, and because she accidentally lays a hot kiss on her BFF.
Aka, the groom.
Unfortunately, no one believes that it was a case of mistaken identity. So, now she has to convince everyone she has no intention of ruining the wedding. She’s going to need a crazy-about-her boyfriend ASAP. Even if he’s just faking it.
Well there’s only one other person she knows in Louisiana…
Josh is all in. In fact, he’s thrilled. And he’s not faking anything.
But the groom isn’t faking his sudden case of cold feet either.
And now Tori might have a choice to make.

Awww, I loved this book. The characters were so good it was sexy and romantic. A great read.
Great characters – lets you get lost in their story and leaves you wanting more
Enjoyed it very much
Good reading it was exciting funny loved it. Makes me feel like I’d like to go to a Mardi Gras!!
A bit too much descriptive sex and language, but unlike some of those types of books, this one actually had a nice story.
My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding (Boys of the Bayou, #1) by Erin Nicholas I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more in the series. This is Josh Landry ( hot bartender and partner in family tour guide business) and Tori’s( Vet and savior of special needs animals) They met a year ago and both hope to meet again a year later. Tori is there for her best friend’s wedding.. This story is full of laughter, crazy family members, angst, misunderstandings, love and steamy stuff all getting to a HEA.
Love this series!!
Can’t wait to read this.
This has been recommended to me by So Many People and it does not disappoint. Fun. Frolicking. Fabulous.
Such a fun fast read… I couldn’t stop reading…
enjoyed this more than the trahan series…looking forward to Owen & Maddie’s story!
Meeting a year ago during Mardi Gras while Tori was on vacation, Josh feels a spark he’s never felt before. Sex would have been easy, but then Tori might have forgotten him or he her. Letting her leave, then deciding on celibacy for the next freaking YEAR was difficult. Hoping to meet her again during Mardi Gras this year is always on his mind.
Tori can’t believe she’s back in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Of course, she’s only here because her best friend is getting married, right? He wants her in his wedding, but his fiancé won’t allow Tori to be a groomsman. Heading to the bar to see if her attraction to Josh is still there, she accidently KISSES HER BEST FRIEND and his fiancé hears about it.
Tori and Josh are so cute together. She chases him to the Bayou, he chases her. Josh’s family is crazy, but then so is Tori! They are just perfect together, but will circumstances allow this bayou boy and his Iowa veterinarian to follow their hearts?
I highly enjoyed the companion series to this one, the Boys of the the Big Easy. But so far, I like the Boys of the Bayou even better!
Tori is probably one of my all-time favorite characters! She is so quirky and fun and just totally real. I feel so bad for her that people in her small hometown never appreciated her. Despite that, she’s grown up to be an amazing person, studying and working hard to become a veterinarian, creating a sanctuary for special needs animals on her farm, and bascially being the best version of her own self.
And Josh just absolutely loves everything about her! That is definitely his most endearing quality – that he just accepts Tori for who she is and doesn’t try to change her. We should all aspire to have such an amazing guy in our lives. (And I’m lucky enough that I do!)
The rest of the cast, at least those in Autre are also SO much fun! I especially love Ellie, but all of them are delightful. The love and affection between the characters, not to mention the playfulness and easy banter is so much fun to witness. And it’s amazing that Tori feels totally included and accepted right from the start. Well, once they’d decided she wasn’t pregnant or murderous, anyway. LOL!
Paisley and Andrew and nearly everyone from the Plantation world, on the other hand, were totally disingenuous and obnoxious. I seriously did not like any of the interactions with that crew. It’s no wonder that Tori was so anxious to have someone on her side there that she caught a tour bus down to Autre to see Josh – even after he seemingly stood her up for the date they’d set a year before.
Of course, Tori and Josh face quite a few obstacles on the way to their happily-ever-after. Many of which were outside influences, but quite a surprising few for both of them from inside themselves. Luckily, though they were finally able to overcome all the challenges and bascially force their way into each other’s arms.
I can hardly wait to read the installments for the stories of Owen and Sawyer. Although I’m going to feel really cheated if we don’t get to hear Kennedy’s tale as well. Much as I did that we didn’t see more of Gus in this volume! =)
If you thought you liked New Orleans before get ready to have your mind changed cause you’re definitely gonna love it now!
Josh and the Landrys are the family you didn’t know you need but now you can’t live without!! Josh is definitely the guy everyone wants as a boyfriend and Tori is definitely all of us! The most relatable characters I’ve seen so far, so genuinely weird and real.
Who hasn’t thought of having a crush on his/her bestfriend? Hopefully Josh is there to make Tori open her eyes and sweep her off her feet!
Definitely a must read in Erin Nicholas’ books!! Loved it!!
I’m so in love with Josh and his family! Their honesty was refreshing and hilarious and the way the folded Tori into the fold awwww. I can’t imagine how much Tori’s passion was tapped down to suit those before Josh. I hope we get to see more of them down the road.
My Best Friend’s Wedding (Boys of the Bayou – Book 1) by Erin Nicholas is a turn paging read. It had me laughing out loud, fanning myself and wanting to snatch one character bald and smack another one up the side of their head! It all adds up to a awesome read! Josh and Tori met at Mardi Gras a year ago, vowing to not contact each other in the coming year, but if they felt the same way they would meet at the same bar at Mardi Gras again. That when the fun begins! Tori accidentally kisses the wrong man…her best friend, the groom! To make sure everyone, especially the bride realize she doesnt feel “that” way about Andrew, she needs a fake boyfriend. That where Josh comes in, but there is nothing fake about what Josh and Tori are feeling but with Andrew meddling will Josh be able to convince Tori that him and New Orlean should be her future? Your have to read it to find out. Erin Nicholas always take you on wild ride! Making you wish you could step into the story.
This book has it all! A heroine to root for, a hero to fall for, and a story that had me smiling the whole way through. I loved Tori and Josh (and his family) and the fake date wedding vibe!!
I thought this was a good read. The writing flowed well for the most part, although I do wish there would have been more story of them as a couple. Josh was a good guy, and I really liked him. Tori was a good heroine, but I’m not sure about her taste in friends. Andrew was a jerk in my opinion. It seemed like the author didn’t want you to like Paisley, but honestly I felt sorry for her. It would suck to be engaged to someone who was in love with someone else. I did enjoy learning about Josh’s family, and I think the rest of the series will be great. I wish there was a better look into the future for Josh and Tori. Hopefully I’ll get updates on them in the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
