Audio review
I loved the book and can now add the audio to that! Neill Thorne and Amanda Striking are fantastic story tellers, bringing Josh and Tory to scintillating life, bringing laughter, love and shenanigans to these grateful ears! With a bridezilla and clueless groom, Erin Nicholas has written a warm, funny story that deserves these stars.
I just love the way these two started. Feeling the amazing chemistry and still leaving it to chance that they will still feel the same in a year. These two are from totally different backgrounds but they still compliment each other perfectly. I loved everything about this book and with the peak of what’s to come, I can’t wait for the next book!
My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding by Erin Nicholas is a small town fake relationship romantic comedy that I listened to on audio narrated by Amanda Stribling and Neil Thorne.
This is the first book of Erin’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I absolutely loved the relationship between Josh and Tori. I am pretty sure I had a smile on my face the whole time I was listening to this book. I can’t wait for the next book in the series Sweet Home Louisiana to be released on audio so I can get Madison and Owen’s story.
Amanda and Neill did a great job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would highly recommend this book if you love fake relationships, small town relationships, or romantic comedies.
Boys of the Bayou Book One.
Victoria ‘Tori’ Kramer and Josh Landry made a pact a year ago in New Orleans after a hot kiss left them both breathless. One year later, they were to meet at the same bar where they first met, if they were both still single and interested. When a case of mistaken identity leads to Tori’s need for a date, she tracks down Josh and convinces him to be her plus one. Over the course of the next few days, Tori and Josh get to hang out and she begins to feel like she is home for the first time in her life. However, Andrew, the groom and her best friend, is beginning to see what he missed back home in Iowa.
If you’re looking for a story about relaxing in the Big Easy, this is the book for you!

This is the first of six books in the Boys of the Bayou Series. I loved it! Victoria (Tori) and Josh’s story is beautifully written, sweet, fun, sexy, and romantic. They shared an instant attraction, and they meet again on Mardi Gras a year after. Josh, a Bayou Boy, is a handsome bartender, caring and supportive. Tori is lovely and sweet. They are perfect together. I loved to follow them in their second chance to love. The supporting characters are great, and they have an important part in this story. I love the Landry Family! The scenery is beautifully described. I need to visit New Orleans, on Mardi Gras! Amanda Stribling is already one of my favorite narrators. Neill Thorne is a new narrator to me, and I love his voice! They are perfect as Josh and Tori, and they did a wonderful job with the narration. If you like Romantic Comedy, this one is definitely for you! I can’t wait for the next book in the Series, Sweet Home Louisiana, Owen’s story. #AudiobookObsessionVIP

Tori finding love, acceptance by people who make her feel comfortable. Josh embraces her quirkiness, not embarrassed by it. This all makes for a fun. sexy, laugh out loud story.
Amanda Stribling and Neill Thorne are entertaining and bring this story to life. Their voices and emotions perfectly match the characters they portray.

A Beautiful Delight of a Story! Fabulous Listen
My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding
Boys of the Bayou, Book 1
By: Erin Nicholas
Narrated by: Amanda Stribling, Neill Thorne
I loved everything about this book, from Erin Nicholas’ wonderful writing style to the amazing characters and storylines she created, to the perfectly casted narration who brings it all to life. I adored the characters in this book, not only are they full of personality but they are also realistic, easy to connect with and relate to. This book swept me right in, immediately grabbing my attention and captivating it the entire time. Josh Landry and Victoria “Tori” Kramer met in New Orleans during the Mardi Gras celebrations. Tori, a veterinarian from Iowa was only staying there for a few days, she ducked into the bar where he worked, the two hit it off and they spent some time together. He was a flirt and a charmer but there was great chemistry between them and they make a pact if they still felt the same in one year they would meet in the same place. Fast forward one year, Josh no longer worked at that bar but he tried his best to get over there to see if she shows up. It was a long year and she was never far from his mind Tori happens to be back in New Orleans for her best friends wedding, Andrew is set to marry Paisley, a New Orleans socialite. While there she went to see if Josh shows up, she remembers the sparks they shared when they kissed. But they miss each other but she decides to try to find him after she kissed the wrong man. The book is cleverly plotted, the story moves fast and flows naturally. The dialogue is fabulous and the characters’ antics had me laughing hysterical at times, I think I may have rolled my eyes a few times too. I was rooting for this couple the entire time and I just loved how it all played out, the drama, the humor, the heartfelt and emotional moments and the wonderful romance. Erin Nicholas, thank you for this awesome story, the journey to N’Awlins and the emotional rollercoaster ride. I am looking forward to what comes next in this amazing series, I hope it comes to Audible soon.
I listened to the Audible edition, Amanda Stribling and Neill Thorne did an awesome portraying the characters, grasping each of their personas, perfecting the role and making it their own. Amanda Stribling was the perfect Tori, she brought out all of her sweetness, her goodness too. Neill Thorne perfected Josh’s flirty charm. Both were great with the secondary characters too. These two are entertaining storytellers and versatile voice artists, you could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture and project the characters emotions into their performance. Thank you for another awesome audiobook listen, it is always always a pleasure to listen to your work.

This is the first book I’ve listened to by Erin Nicholas and I really enjoyed it. It was a fun maybe-love-triangle, somehow both instant love and yet appealing for a slow burn fan (me) because they try to put the brakes on it. New Orleans featured prominently and even though it’s been years since I’ve been there, it was cool to hear familiar places.
I listened to the audio version which was great. Fantastic performances by Amanda Stribling and Niell Thorne. I always appreciate when there are dual narrators for dual points of view.

This book is amazing. She is a new to me author and it was everything you want in a romance book. There is instant chemistry, swoon, sexy times and great side characters. Josh and Tori are so good together and how the Hero shows his intentions and emotions was everything! The setting of New Orleans was described so well it made me change my upcoming girls trip from Las Vegas to New Orleans. I enjoyed her writing so much I can’t wait to hear more of her books and pray she puts the rest of this series in audio. The narrators were amazing. I could not put this one down. Highly recommend. As I said, this is a first for this author but guaranteed not the last!
I received an ALC from Pink Flamingo Productions
This was the best book I’ve read of Erin Nicholas. I was laughing through out. I really loved this storyline and it was well written. The characters were great. Who wouldn’t want to belong and be loved like these people?!? I look forward to reading more about them in this series!
*I really hope this goes into the Kindle Unlimited program!
Editing to add that I’ve just listened to an ALC of the audiobook! It was just as good as, if not better than, reading it! I once again fell in love with the characters and world that Erin Nicholas has created. And they are in Kindle Unlimited! I’ll be reading the rest in the series!
The narrators, Amanda Stribling & Neill Thorne, are amazing. Their performances were almost perfection. Neill had a great South Louisiana accent for Josh in this book at times. The others weren’t as noticeable. Amanda didn’t get the accent down for the male parts, but she is still a fantastic narrator. Both are easy to listen to. I didn’t want to pause the book! Looking forward to more from these two narrators in the future.

I loved their portayal of Tori and Josh, and the secondary characters were just added bonuses! A fun and entertaining listen!
10/04/2020 I am not a laugh-out-loud reader but while reading “My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding” (nook) I chuckled and laughed repeatedly. My interest was snagged from the beginning. Josh and Tori had instant chemistry and rapport. He appreciates Tori the way she is with all of her “crazyness.”
I really enjoyed this start of a new series and I can’t wait to take another trip to the bayou. The first couple of chapters read a little slow to me, but don’t let that turn you off, this story is definitely worth your time.
A lovely, fun, light-hearted story with wonderful characters.
Ms.Nicholas is great. This book was romantic and the characters were wonderful. When I thought I had the characters figured out it was very different. I enjoyed reading about someone who cares a lot about animals and special animals that they would be include them in a book. i am excited about reading more form Ms. Nicholas.
I liked the characters so much, I bought the whole series.
Fun and loveable characters. Great description of the setting/area. Also loved the family connections and love plus the steamy encounters with the main characters were great.
Love love love this book
Oh, memories of where I grew up and interesting stories of New Orleans, the surrounding bayou country and a fun loving love story to go with it! Without giving away too much, you get to meet Josh’s grandmother and her younger boyfriend, plus his siblings when Tori heads to the bayou looking for him! The author has a wonderful play on use of the mardi gras beads as well! The story has southern charm and fun all balled up with a good looking couple who needs each other!
