Love everything Erin writes. Great new series.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this story.
Tori and Josh meet during Mardi Gras and promised each other if they will still think about each other and be single next year the same time. They will meet again.
This story is great, wonderfully written.
Amazing
Visiting New Orleans during Mardi Gras has just been bumped up to the top 5 on my bucket list! Erin Nicholas knocked this one out of the park and continues to amaze me with her characters.
The author has a way of drawing the reader into the story and making you feel like you’re right in the thick of it all. The instant chemistry between the main characters is intense, but believable and heart warming.
The Landry family is filled with such dynamic characters, that the story is worth reading if only just for the entertainment they provide. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
I love Erin’s writing and I haven’t had a chance to read a book of hers in so long. I was so excited for the chance to read this book because it sounded SO GOOD! Let me tell you, it blew expectations out of the water!
One of my favorite things about this book was the “insta-love” between Josh and Tori. I am very new to the “insta-love” bandwagon, but this is, by far, one of my favorites! I adored that she was a tourist and he was the bartender!!!! My next favorite thing was the pace of the book. This was a pretty fast moving book, but that was so great because we got to see soooo much of Josh and Tory. These two were attached at the hip! The amount of dedication that they had to each other was so adorable. I love that they were doing everything they could to spend as much time together as possible. Even better, I love how the wedding (her whole purpose for being in NOLA) was getting in her way! This list of favorite things is probably endless, because there are so many awesome parts to this story. In addition to all of these favorite things. THIS BOOK WAS SO MUCH FUN! Between NOLA and the Bayou this book was so much fun and lots of laughs, I enjoyed it so much!!
Josh’s family was another big favorite of mine. I LOVED how Tori sought him out and his family completely welcomed her. From the “grand gesture” stories to the bayou, everything was just so awesome. The way that Tori fit in was pretty great too! Josh’s family made for some truly hysterical and amazing characters. I loved how everyone had a purpose in their business, how they told stories and how they were Josh’s cheerleaders. Their involvement was so big, that it truly made an epic impact on this story.
Ok, now I have to talk about Andrew. I hated Andrew from the beginning of this book, and for good reason! This dude! I thought from the beginning that he should go take a hike in that darn bayou LOL. He made for some interesting times in this book though! And Paisley, equally hated, made for some seriously great drama. You can’t have a good book without some good drama and these two took the cake with it. Erin did such an amazing job adding these two in and they created the perfect amount of twists and turns.
My emotions were all over the place reading this and I loved every second of that. Once I got to the end I desperately needed more and I can’t wait to see what she has next with Owen and Maddie. Sounds like there’s a storm coming and I love watching storms!
Sinfully sexy and delightful! With the first book in the spin-off series from her beloved Boys of the Big Easy series, Erin Nicholas brings us a familiar face as the first Boys of the Bayou hunk. Josh has been playing the field with the best of them, but lightening struck last year and he hasn’t been able to get her off of his mind ever since. With a cast of family sidekicks, Josh sets out to show her what a great time can be had in the bayou. The story line is humorous, with a whole lot of heart. Great characters! Really enjoyed and can’t wait for Owen’s story!
Bartender Josh Landry wasn’t expecting to meet the woman of his dreams while serving her a Mardi Gras drink, but when he laid eyes on her, he knew. She was the one he was destined to be with. Only he lives in Louisiana and she lives in Iowa, and in doubting the long distance thing, she walks away … with only the promise of meeting at the same time, same place if they’re both still single and thinking of each other next year. The time has come … he’s there … now where is she??
Veterinarian Victoria Kramer is back in New Orleans for her best friend Andrew’s wedding, and she can’t get the meet up she and Josh planned out of her mind. When she finally gets out of the bride’s clutches long enough to make it to the bar they’re supposed to meet at, a masked mix-up has her accidentally kissing the groom and mortifying the bride! She needs a man by her side for the rest of these wedding festivities … even if he’s faking it. Operation track Josh down underway!
Seriously, be prepared to read the whole book in one sitting! Tori and Josh were amazingly perfect for each other. Their chemistry was unmistakable, and talk about hot! Ms. Nicholas always makes the seemingly impossible possible with her couples. I’ll never get enough. And now I’ll be waiting impatiently for the next Boys of the Bayou…
I LOVED this book so much. The characters were great. Tori reminded me of my brother with her love of animals. I loved hoe Josh accepted Tori for herself quirks and all. I loved Josh’s family so much. They were a hoot especially his grandma. This book had me laughing quite often. It has such a nice light fun tone to it. Josh with kittens sign me up please. I don’t blame Tori for the way she acted when she saw this because I would have reacted the same way. I would highly recommend this book. You won’t be disappointed!
Tori is a veterinarian from Iowa in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. She wanders into a bar where she finds Josh bar tending. Could it be love at first sight? Why won’t Josh go back to her hotel with her? They separate after spending 6 hours together with the agreement that if they are still single and still interested in each other they will meet at the same bar on the same night in one year…
One year later, Tori is back in New Orleans for her best friend Andrew’s wedding. The bride to be is jealous of Tori and worried she will lose Andrew to her. Tori was supposed to be the best man but was demoted to bridesmaid number 9.
Josh is now working at Trahan’s bar. Even though it’s Mardi Gras and crazy busy he finds a way to slip out every twenty minutes to see if Tori came back to meet him at the Bourbon O, the bar they met at one year ago.
Tori enters the Bourbon O and runs into a very familiar male wearing a mask, after all, itnis Mardi Gras! She kisses this male, he kisses her back, it’s so familiar except it isn’t Josh…it’s Andrew! Tori kisses her best friend.
The next day Tori finds Josh in his home town of Autre. She also meets his family. Will this be a happily ever after for Josh and Tori or will the kids with Andrew screw up everything? This is a fantastic read. I can’t wait for the next book in this new series!!!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Tori is wonderfully geeky with a heaping side of insecurities and a dash of oblivious. She deserves her happy ever after! Josh is a typical Cajun boy who will melt your socks off(or flip flops or panties) that reminds me a bit of Rogues if day gone past. Once they fall they fall fast and hard! This is a fabulous story with some characters that will stick with you for a long time! And definitely make you wish you lived in the Bayous!
Josh and Tori’s story is so sweet! After meeting during Mardi Gras, with an instant attraction, they go their separate ways with a promise to meet next Mardi Gras if they are both still single. Neither one can stop thinking about the other. One year later, Tori is visiting for her best friends wedding and Josh is still there but they almost miss each other. When Tori goes looking for Josh he is so happy to see her. And she meets his adorably crazy family. She needs a favor and he is just the man for the job! Now he only has to convince her to stay.
Erin Nicholas writes characterizations so well. I feel so connected to these characters, including all the crazy Landry family members.
The premise to this story is really kind of sweet. Tori and Josh meet one night during Mardi Gras. Instant connection between the two. Only problem is Tori lives multiple states away. Wary of starting a long distance thing, the plan is to meet up again next Mardi Gras on Bourbon Street if they are still thinking of the other.
Isn’t that the sweetest? Oh, my heart!
Well this book exists so obviously they meet up again, although Tori is in New Orleans for a dual purpose – her best friend’s wedding. Her male best friend’s wedding.
Full of sexual chemistry, hilarious antics, witty banter, and a little bit of angst, My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding is a sweet and satisfying read. My only complaint is sadly Tori – she was a little too wishy washy for me at times, but regardless she was a great Heroine.
My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding by Erin Nicholas was my first book by this author, it’s also the first book in the ‘Boys Of the Bayou’ series and I was captivated from the very start. It’s funny, witty and had some truly swoon worthy moments. Josh Landry is one hot bartender from Louisiana who met the girl of his dreams one year ago, but after one night together, she left, promising to come back in twelve months if they were both still single.
Victoria Kramer isn’t just still single, she’s in trouble and needs help getting herself out of the boiling waters of doubt she kinda threw herself in. She needs a hero, and who better for the job than the man from her secret night of passion last year.
Josh is more than up for the job, he’ll let Tori do whatever she wants as long as he gets to keep her for himself at the end of it all.
A fun, flirty, steamy read to enjoy at your leisure. Grab your copy today!!
I adore this book!! I didn’t just fall in love with Josh and Tori, I fell in love with the whole Landry family (Allian family and extended members included)!! I can already tell that I am going to LOVE this series. There is just nothing better than revisiting characters you know and love time and time again.
I’m not always a fan of instalove romances but this one just worked for me. I appreciate that, although they both knew they were feeling something “more” from the very moment they first met and during their year-long separation, they didn’t rush to proclaim forever with each other. Although this entire book spanned just a couple of days (with flashbacks from the few days from the previous year) I still felt a genuine and real connection between Josh and Tori. The way that Josh took the time to really know Tori and her passions and did it with enthusiasm was really sexy. The way that he let her make decisions for herself while also letting her know that he was going to be by her side regardless was everything. He was exactly the opposite of Andrew.
Speaking of Andrew. I was so irritated by him and how he used his history with Tori to make her question her feelings for Josh and her wanting to have fun with him. By default, I was at times irritated by Tori for letting him get into her head. I can’t even say that I hate Andrew but I hate that he was misguided in his attempts to “protect” Tori. Just the same, I couldn’t say that I hated Paisley for the way she treated Tori. I didn’t like her because of her personality but I actually understood her reasons for being upset by Tori’s presence. I don’t care to see these characters redeemed though. So, no worries about fitting them in later books, Ms. Nicholas! LOL.
Tori was such a unique character and her love and passion for her animals was the best!! While I didn’t always love her loyalty to Andrew and their friendship, I appreciated it just the same. I love that she liked to live boldly and that being with Josh gave her the freedom to be herself.
This story was a fun, sexy ride from beginning to end and I was actually sad to not be able to go right into Owen’s story when I finished. I had a great time getting lost in New Orleans and Autre and I can’t wait for my next visit!!
“’ . , ’ .”
Fans of Erin Nicholas’ ℎ series, you are in for an AMAZING treat. The ℎ series is here and we are starting off with Josh and Tori’s story in ‘ . I enjoyed the hell out of their journey. From the very start, there is incredible chemistry and an undeniable connection between our main lovable characters. Then we get that juicy but light angst factor that puts my heart on edge. Throw in some fun banter, humor, sexy times, along with that small town romance feel…you got yourself a romance that’s truly unputdownable. I loved the whole vibe of this story. I was entertained. I laughed. I swooned. I blushed. This love story really had it all. With each turn of the page, I found myself more and more invested in these characters and I just can’t wait to see what Erin brings us next!

This book is Erin Nicholas at her BEST!!!
This is the funniest book I have read in quite a while. I lost count of how many times I laughed out loud, especially in surprise at the characters’ actions. I just never knew for sure what was coming next — in the best way.
I loved Tori. She has such a big heart, but she hasn’t really been allowed to express it in her hometown. She doesn’t whine about it, though. Hanging out with Josh and his family lets her truly be herself, and that is a beautiful (and hilarious) thing to watch.
Josh is super romantic. He knows he has a good thing in Tori, and he is willing to do whatever it takes to keep her. The best part — he actually listens to Tori and tries to understand what she wants. The second best part — Josh is a dirty talker. Oh, my.
I loved every part of this story, and I am definitely going to reread it when the next one comes out. I recommend it for when you want a rollicking story with low levels of angst and high levels of fun and romance.
My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding is a fun filled, steamy romance that has you wanting more. Josh and Tori met a year ago during Mardi Gras and agreed to meet next Mardi Gras if they were still single. Tori happens to be in New Orleans for her best friend’s wedding and goes to the bar where Josh and Tori agreed to meet and ends up kissing the wrong person. Thank goodness Josh can save the day. I love how Josh’s family welcomes her with open arms and how Josh just accepts Tori as Tori and doesn’t try to change her. I love all of the characters, but I must admit i fell fast and hard for all the Boys of the Bayou. Can’t wait for the next book in this series
Well, this is hot.
This time we meet Josh and Tori. We’ve heard of him in the ‘Boys of the Big Easy’ series, and he was a fun character, so It was fun to check out what the deal is, lol.
These two share a passionate kiss, and agree to meet up the year after. Well, a year after and Josh is still waiting and eager to see Tori again. The passion is there, alright, it’s just the situation is a bit more complicated now, lol.
These guys were crazy hot and hot for each other and I loved Josh and his easy going way of seeing life, although that didn’t mean he didn’t take things seriously. His family was super fun to read and can’t wait to check out more of this. And Tori was super fun too, just in trouble she SO didn’t want or need. I was glad Josh was there to help out.
There’s also business with a bride and groom, and omg I hate weddings sometimes, lol.
All in all, this was hot and fun and looking forward to more in the series.
*Thank you to the author for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*
You ever read a story that just makes you feel oh so good? Well, My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding is definitely that story. I swear I had a permanent grin on my face throughout this story. Josh is an absolute doll. I love him so much. He’s my new dream guy. And Tori was so adorable. And together they were just sigh worthy. And don’t forget smoking hot! Erin Nicholas totally transported me into this story. I felt like I was living every word. I can’t wait to read more about these sexy Boys of the Bayou. But she’s got her work cut out for her. She set the standard pretty high with this story. However I know she’ll make the next one just as great. She definitely keeps getting better and better every time I read her new stories. They’re so much fun and oh so sexy. Everything I love about romances.
Warning: You will stay up way too late just to finish this book! Josh had me at “I’m a bayou boy.” I couldn’t put this book down.
Josh is irresistible with his sexy accent and southern charm. Tori is an adorable veterinarian in town for Mardi Gras when they meet at the bar where Josh is working. After a few hours of flirting and a few HOT kisses, they agree to meet up again. Same place, same day…a year later but only if they are still interested. Josh hasn’t been able to stop thinking about her. He hasn’t been with another woman since he met her, and he is still very interested. Tori doesn’t think a sweet-talking bartender will even remember her but as luck has it, she is back in town for her best friend’s wedding during Mardi Gras. She can’t stop thinking about the what if’s and wants to take the chance. They miss each other at the bar but she decides to track him down. She needs a date to the wedding after a big misunderstanding with the bridal party and who better to take her than Josh!
Erin has a way of writing characters who are so relatable that you feel like you know them when you finish the book. I laugh at myself when I get so involved in the story that I get mad at some of the characters. Andrew didn’t reach Frank level in my eyes, but he was still on my “UGH” list when I finished the book. Ellie, on the other hand, was my favorite of Josh’s family and had me laughing every scene she is in.
I am not one for spoilers, so you must read it to find out the drama between Tori, Josh, Andrew, and the spoiled princess of the hour, Paisley. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
