It’s Erin Nicholas. That fact alone should tell you this book is PURE MAGIC. And it really is! She’s created the most amazing characters in this series. I always want to be friends with them!
I love everything Erin writes! This is Erin Nicholas at her best!
I loved this so SO much. Quirky shero. Hero who doesn’t think she needs to tone anything down. Big, messy family. Grand gestures. And a hero and shero who aren’t about playing games but are just plain honest. Minus the crazy, it reminded me of my early relationship with my hubby 🙂 Two thumbs up and a double squee cannon salute. Gimme more Landrys, Erin Nicholas !
Whenever I read a Nicholas book, I know I’m in for a hilarious, fun-filled good time that’s rounded out with steamy chemistry and heartfelt romance. After meeting these boys of the bayou in the Boys of the Big Easy Series I was already crushing on them a little, but I’m now full blown in love with all three generations of the Landry clan. If you’ve ever wanted a family who loves hard, teases mercilessly, accepts unconditionally and always has your back, it’s the Landrys. And for Tori, who has only ever been unconditionally loved by the special needs animals she doctors and cares for, Josh’s family is everything she’s never had but always wanted.
This book is just so darn fun while squeezing your heart in the best of ways, and Nicholas has, once again, managed to top herself. She gives us a smoking hot Cajun boy whose heart is as big as the bayou, with a large colorful family who all love big in their own unique way. You’ll adore Grandma Ellie, with her outrageous terms for a man’s, ah, “member,” her southern wisdom and ability to see clear to the heart of someone at first glance. You’ll love the family lore of the Landrys’ propensity for falling in love in fifteen minutes and their famous grand gestures, and you’ll be intrigued by Josh’s siblings and eager to learn more about them.
If that’s not enough, there’s the whole best friend’s wedding. As the groom’s best friend at a southern debutante’s wedding, tomboy Tori gets relegated to the bridesmaid side of things, and neither she nor the bride are happy about it. This, of course, makes for highly entertaining reading, and let’s just say there are some big surprises on the big day that nobody saw coming. And the Landry grand gesture? Josh works hard to come up with one worthy of Tori. If you like your rom-coms with a little heat, a ton of heart, and a big, happy, messy family that will have you wanting to be adopted by them, you’ll easily fall nose over toes for Josh and Tori’s story.

Sexy and sigh-worthy, My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding is flat-out fun. I can always rely on Erin Nicholas to deliver a winner! And this new cast of characters promise all the things I love in contemporary romance–heart and heat for days. Grab this book. You won’t be sorry!
MY BEST FRIEND’S MARDI GRAS WEDDING is the first instalment in Erin Nicholas’ contemporary, adult BOYS OF THE BAYOU erotic, romance series, a spin-off from the author’s BOYS OF THE BIG EASY series. This is bartender/bouncer and Bayou tour boat operator Josh Landry, and twenty-eight year old veterinarian Dr. Victoria ‘Tori’ Kramer’s story line. MY BEST FRIEND’S MARDI GRAS WEDDING can be read as a stand alone. It is not necessary to have read the previous series.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Tori and Josh) MY BEST FRIEND’S MARDI GRAS WEDDING follows the second chance, building relationship between bartender/bouncer and Bayou tour boat operator Josh Landry, and twenty-eight year old veterinarian Dr. Victoria ‘Tori’ Kramer. Approximately one year earlier, during the Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans, Louisiana Josh Landry met and fell hard for Tori Kramer, a veterinarian from Iowa but a woman who had quickly stolen his heart. With a promise to meet one year later, Tori went home but Josh never forgot about the one that got way. Fast forward to present day wherein Tori has returned to New Orleans for her best friend’s wedding, a return she hopes will reunite long, lost loves. Enter Josh Landry, the man with whom Tori will fall in love. What ensues is the rekindling relationship between Josh and Tori, and the potential fall-out as the New Orlean’s wedding plans spiral out of control.
Tori Kramer’s best friend Andrew believes himself to be guardian and protector of our story line heroine. With Andrew’s wedding only days away, Tori begins to fall hopelessly in love with a man she met one year earlier but a man Andrew struggles to accept or defend. Josh Landry knows Tori Kramer is his happily ever after but her best friend Andrew continues to run interference at each and every opportunity.
The relationship between Tori and Josh is one of second chances (of a sorts); a rekindling romance between two people separated by distance and obligations. Josh is determined to make Tori his own including proving he is worthy of her happily ever after. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are introduced to a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Tori’s best friend Andrew, and his fiancé Paisley, and several members of the bridal party; Josh’s NOLA extended Landry family, friends and business partners: Owen, Kennedy and Sawyer: their father Jeremiah, grandpa Leo, grandma Ellie, cousin Mitch; and Aunt Cora.
The world building continued to focus on the building relationship between Tori and Josh; Tori and Andrew’s friendship but also looked at the Landry family dynamics, their friendships, love and loss. I am looking forward to their stories. The family stories are fun and exciting.
MY BEST FRIEND’S MARDI GRAS WEDDING is a story of family, friendship, second chances and love. The premise is engaging and captivating; the romance is sexy and spicy; the characters are charismatic, sassy and spirited. MY BEST FRIEND’S MARDI GRAS WEDDING is an energetic and heart warming story.
Loved this book. I love everything Erin writes. Can’t wait for the next one!
Loved it
Every book that Author Erin Nicholas pens seems to make me smile but this book does more than that it make me oh so happy deep down in my soul. It is like sunshine and roses all inside one book…Kittens without the sneezes (yep I love them but I am highly allergic) but our Iowa Vet Tori loves them and even sexy Gator boy Josh does too. This book so well written it is like a movie without sound: which is awesome for me because i am deaf. I Instant chemistry! Tori and Josh sizzle one weekend then arrange to meet up again one year later if they still think that chemistry is there. You know that saying “like ships that pass in the night”…. That is what I was thinking at one part of the book but don’t worry fans it all comes out in the Bayou. You will laugh with the family and want to scream at times but most of all you will certainly fall more in love with not just the Boys of the Bayou but the entire family as well.
Fantastic start to this new series! Erin Nicholas really brought her A game and I can’t wait for more Boys of the Bayou!!
There isn’t an Erin Nicholas book that I don’t obsess over and My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding is another that I just loved! A sexy hero who knows what he wants, a hilarious heroine who made me laugh out loud. She needs a fake boyfriend. He just needs her. Y’all, I’m not kidding when I say I stayed up half the night giggling into my kindle. This sexy romance is not one to miss!
Tori is a veterinarian from Iowa. She goes to Nee Orleans for Mardi Gras and meets Josh. Josh is a bartender and they talk for hours. When she gets ready to leave, they agree to meet back here in a year. Now a year later, Tori is there but for her best friend Andrew’s wedding. She goes to the bar she’s supposed to meet Josh and doesn’t see him but accidentally kisses Andrew. Which stirs up a whole mess. Josh had been looking for Tori but didn’t see her. She goes to his work where him and some family members own touring boats in the swamp. He is shocked but very happy. Josh is her date for the wedding festivities and the fall for each other. Josh’s family is into grand gestures when it comes to love and he tries to figure out how to show her how he feels.
This is the sexiest, funniest book I’ve read in awhile. You will not be able to hold back the giggles. A crazy family that Tori fits right in, a bride who just might end up killing Tori, and a best friend who has always took up for Tori but now she has someone else. I freaking loved this book!
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for the author *
I don’t think I have stopped smiling yet! This story is fun, flirty, sexy and chock full of heart! Josh Landry is absolutely adorable and dare I say one of my favorite Erin Nicholas heroes to date. And that is really saying something having read all her books. I honestly just love him! There is just something about this Louisiana man that makes my heart go boom! He is everything you could possibly want to the 100th power. I love Tori too! She is quirky, a bit awkward sometimes, smart and really fun when she lets herself be, something Josh works hard at making sure happens. This couple has oodles and oodles of chemistry and it is so much fun watching them fall in love. I adore the 1 year deal they make that starts the whole thing off. I adore the story and everywhere it goes and love Josh’s family! I can’t wait for more of these boys from the Bayou!!
Another fantastic start to a new series for Erin Nicholas!
Can’t wait for more! What a hilarious cast of characters!! Erin Nicholas definitely does it again!! Josh & Tori are great…they bring the heat & the humor!!!

Wonderful
I have loved everything I have read of Erin’s so really looked forward to this release. She did not let me down, delivering an entertaining, romantic read with wonderful characters. Thanks for another wonderful read, Erin!
Great start to this new series. Can’t wait for the next one
It will make your heart happy!!
Josh and Tori’s story is awesome!!
Makes you want to head down to the Bayou and find a man!!’
Tori and Josh might be one of my favorite fictional couples. They are fun, different, and their chemistry is off the charts. I completely adore Tori’s quirkiness. She’s one of the most relatable heroines I have read. And Josh. Omgah that man is AMAZING. He’s not pushy. But don’t underestimate his drive of going for what he wants.
The secondary characters were beyond entertaining. I want to be an honorary Landry. They are fun, have no problems giving each other crap, yet are the first to stand up and support the others. There were a few secondary characters that left a lot to be desired, and added just enough drama, and I was surprised to find that I really want a story on one of the characters I wasn’t fond of through most of the story (because only Erin Nicholas can make you feel for a character you started off hating)
A phenomenal must read I would highly recommend.
Love-love-loved these two!!! Josh met a girl from Iowa on Mardi Gras and made her a deal: in 1 year, same time, same place… if we’re still interested and available we meet here. A year later and he can’t wait – but doesn’t see her even as he checks several times. As it turns out, Tori was there – making a huge mistake. She tracks him down the next day anyway and asks for a favor – need a fake boyfriend to show off at her best friend’s wedding. They come to find they had both been at the bar the night before they just never crossed paths. Josh jumps at any chance to spend time with her. Between wedding stuff, Josh’s crazy family, and just hanging out – it doesn’t take long for these two to fall head over heels. But is it enough? Are they too different? From two completely different worlds – how would it ever work? Add in some wacky farm animal stories, a nutso bridezilla, a problematic best friend (who happens to be the groom), and plenty of New Orleans/Bayou charm – what could possibly go wrong? This is a fabulous read and I can’t wait to get to know the rest of these Bayou Boys!
