My best friends Mardi Gras wedding, the first book in The Boys of the Bayou series and spin off from The Boys of the Big Easy series.
Tori is a veterinarian from Iowa visiting New Orleans for Mardi Gras and meets Josh, a bartender who also runs a swamp boat tour company with his family. They spend hours talking and getting to know each other and decide if they are still single next year they will meet at Bourbon O’s.
Tori comes back the next year for her best friends wedding. When she goes to see if Josh is waiting for her at Bourbon O‘s that’s when things start getting interesting!
Funny, sexy, a sassy grandma and hot Louisiana boys!
Can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
This book was awesome; it had me hooked from page one! Really enjoyed the back story on Josh and Tori and loved reading and seeing them get their HEA. Of course what also made this book awesome were Josh’s family and friends and of course the woman of the hour, Ellie. Erin Nicholas does such a great job with her amazing heroines and in my opinion this book had Tori, who I fell in love with, but also so many more and that is one of the many reasons I love reading Erin Nicholas’ books. In my opinion, you should definitely read this book. Can’t wait for the next story.
There is something special about the people that Erin Nicholas creates. They are people you could get to know and be friends with. This new series has more of the same but funnier and hotter than Hades characters. This first book has all the great parts of classic movies such as An Affair to Remember and My Best Friend’s Wedding. Josh and Tori meet in a New Orleans bar during Mardi Gras. They talk for two nights and there is something there but Josh doesn’t want to spoil what might be the one. They agree to meet again one year later if they are both still interested. And boy are they! But Tori isnt in town just for Josh. Her best friend Andrew is getting married and she’s there to be in the wedding party. I loved the heat that radiated off of them when they are together. Josh is the swooniest gentleman! Tori is just trying to get through the wedding since Andrew’s fiancee thinks Tori is in love with Andrew. Hilarity ensues while Tori tries to convince everyone otherwise. Oh! And then throw in Josh’s family? I laughed out loud several times. Can’t say enough about how much i enjoyed this book!
Just when I think Erin Nicholas can not top her last book I read the newest one. In this new series we’re leaving N’Awlins and heading to the bayou!
““Ah, girl,” he said, his drawl getting deeper and longer. “I’m way more fun, and dangerous, than a N’Awlins boy.” “Dangerous?” She lifted a brow. “I’m a bayou boy.” The sexy grin said it all. Bayou boys were definitely cocky. “And that’s worse?” “N’Awlins boys need liquor and beignets and jazz and the Quarter and all kinds of stuff. Bayou boys only need a little beer and the great outdoors.”
Josh Landry and Tori Kramer meet during Mardi Gras while Tori is visiting, from Iowa, her best friend Andrew. Andrew is MIA during her visit, being dragged away by his girlfriend, leaving Tori to wander to Bourbon O where Josh is working. They both feel a connection but with the distance between them they are hesitant to pursue anything. Before Tori leave for Iowa Josh tells her that if they are both still interested to meet at Bourbon O next Mardi Gras.
Fast forward 1 year and they are both still interested but a case of mistaken identity screws everything up, or does it?
““You kissed the groom?” She nodded, eyes still shut. “And the bride saw it.” Oh boy. “So, I need to prove that there is actually a guy that I met last year who looks like Andrew who was supposed to meet me there.””
Erin is one of my favorite authors. Her hero’s and heroines are normal people. They have flaws and get embarrassed. She sucks you in wi5 her words and brings you into her world! Absolute must read! This book does not disappoint!
My Best Friends Mardi Gras wedding was such a fun, enjoyable read and I know you will fall in love with Tori and Josh just like I did! Once I started it I just didn’t want to put it down.
It all started with a chance meeting and engaging conversation a year before, with promises to meet up again. The question came down to, would they both show up and continue something that they both felt strongly about?
Tori and Josh have fantastic chemistry and they have fun together, but they also have obstacles and challenges to face before they have a chance at their happily ever after.
Josh’s crazy relatives definitely bring a light, humorous side to this story. They love hard and protect one another and bring Tori into their fold immediately! She reciprocates with her affection and she and Josh follow family tradition with a fast paced, true love story they will be able to tell future generations.
Erin Nicholas does it again!
What an amazing start to this awesome new series! This is classic Erin Nicholas small town romance at it’s finest, complete with hot country boys of course!
You will laugh; shake your head at times; want to shake some of the others in the story at times; swoon at the sweetness and sincerity that is all Josh Landry and need a fan for all the chemistry and steaminess between Josh & Tori.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
5 star review My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding (Boys Of The Bayou #1) by Erin Nicholas
I just loved the sound of this plot as soon as I read it. Throw in that it is New Orleans, a place I desperately want to go and it was written by an author I have come to love and I was ready to dive right in.
Oh what a little gem My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding is; I was totally hooked from the first to the last page and I just did not want to put this one down, even when real life got in my way.
Veterinarian Victoria (Tori) Kramer is in New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras when she meets hot and sexy bartender Josh Landry. Their connection is immediate and they find themselves talking through the night as they get to know one another. Parting after a smoking hot kiss, they agree if they are both single, they will meet again next Mardi Gras.
Fast forward 12 months and complications arise when Toni who is in town again for her best friend Andrew’s wedding accidentally kisses the groom to be. Despite her protests that it was an accident, it appears the groom is now having second thoughts about the wedding. Toni turns to Josh to step in and be her devoted boyfriend, a role Josh is absolutely ready for.
I loved the characters of Josh and Toni and I particularly enjoyed how much Josh was all in from the first kiss and decided to be celibate until they meet again. Such a caring and swoon worthy man who ticks all the boxes and the love that Josh and Toni share was beautiful to read about.
This is a funny, romantic, sweet, steamy story that blew me away. Josh’s family is an absolute hoot and I would not mind being a part of their family. I cannot wait to read more in this series and I firmly believe that Erin Nicholas has another winning series on her hands.
Tori is wonderful. Her free spirit and willingness to boldly stand up for the underdog is refreshing. She became a vet because she loves animals and we learn that people in her life made her feel like she shouldn’t be as carefree with her actions. On a trip to New Orleans, she meets Josh at Mardi Gras. He is the sexy bartender that she thought she might have a one-night stand with but Josh surprises her. They have a great two nights talking and a promise is made to meet next year at the same bar at Mardi Gras. That fateful night returns and Tori ends up kissing the wrong guy which sets off a lot of craziness. She hunts down Josh to be her date at her best friend’s wedding which allows her to meet his amazing family. Josh can’t believe Tori wasn’t there but then she shows up on his dock. He will do anything to spend time with her so acting as her boyfriend is not a hardship. Getting to know Tori is his mission because when a Landry man finds the ‘one,’ they fall hard and Tori just might be the one. What a fun and sexy romance for Tori and Josh. The Landry clan is a loyal and crazy fun crew that anyone would be lucky to know. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
This is a spin-off series of Erin Nicholas’s boys of the big easy series.
I seriously couldn’t stop thinking about this book when I wasn’t reading. It was THAT GOOD!!
I even posted this online as I was reading
“Ok so quick story, nothing in my life is ever planned. Last night my mom decided to have an impromptu dinner with a couple of her siblings and their families. We all met at a local restaurant then we went to the local American Legion post. I love family time but at the same time I thought “I wonder what Josh & Tori are up too?” I. Have. A. Book. To. Read. I’m loving this book so far.”
Josh was a born and bred Louisiana boy. Tori was a veterinarian from Iowa. Josh and Tori met last year at Mardi Gras. Tori stopped at Bourbon O’s to grab a drink, it just so happened that Josh was bar tending. They’d spent six hours talking over 2 nights. They also shared a couple kisses, but nothing more. They agreed that if they were both single the following year at Bourbon O’s
Fast forward to Mardi Gras a year later, Tori made her way to New Orleans for her best friend Andrew’s wedding. She wasn’t too excited about the wedding. She did wonder if she would see Josh at some point.
After some twists and turns in the crazy road of trying to find each other, they DO end up crossing paths again. But I won’t ruin the book for anyone.
You’ll want to read this book if you enjoy Erin’s “boys of the big easy” series.
ERIN KNOCKED THIS ONE OUT OF THE PARK!!!!
I’m not quite sure how she does it, but Erin Nicholas writes characters that keep getting hotter and hotter, particularly male leads!
How can you not love a sexy, alpha man who meets a woman on Mardi Gras, spends a few hours (and a few smoking hot kisses) with…and then waits for a year to (hopefully) see again a year later!? Where does a girl find that guy, because that is the one; the alpha who isn’t afraid to be the beta for the right girl.
Josh and Tori are such a great match! I love her boldness in tracking down Josh when their meet-up turns into not only a miss, but an oops when Tori accidentally kisses her best friend (and the groom of said wedding!), mistaking him for Josh! And the fact that Josh is so open and excited that not only did she come back, but that she didn’t forget him either! Que the sighs, ladies!
Josh’s over-the-top family provides a ton of laughs and heart to this read, while Tori’s bff Andrew and his high-maintenance, spoiled fiancé Pailey add enough drama that I wanted to throw my dreaded across the room!
Super hot, super sweet and all around fantastic…I can’t gush enough about this first Boys of the Bayou book!
My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding is filled with steamy chemistry, lots of wonderful family moments, and NOLA history/information I now feel like I could visit and know exactly where to go. I loved this story from start to finish.
Tori and Josh met the year prior during Mardi Gras. It was a connection that neither could exactly put a finger on, but one where Josh made Tori promise that she would meet him in that exact spot a year later if they were both still single. A romantic notion, yes, but Josh comes from a family of big romantic’s so he thought nothing of it. Tori on the other hand is a bit more skeptical, but still there is something about the southern man that draws her back.
Tori had thought of Josh often in the last year, but did she really believe he would show up again a year later, she wasn’t sure. She just so happened to be back in NOLA for her best friend’s wedding during Mardi Gras, so the timing was perfect. Now if she could just slip away from the wedding festivities long enough to see if Josh actually shows up. When the bride asks her to go meet Andrew, her best friend, at the very bar she is supposed to meet Josh at she happily agrees. Unfortunately, Andrew makes things complicated when he accidently kisses Tori…oops, she did not see that coming.
The perfect solution, find Josh, bring him as her wedding date, and correct everyone’s assumption that she is trying to steal the groom, whom she is only friends with. Thankfully, Josh is completely on board with this plan because he hasn’t stopped thinking about Tori for the last year either. He agrees to be glued to her side, no hardship for him. Does he trust Andrew-no. Does he want to get to know Tori-yes. Are things moving quickly between them-maybe. He’s a Landry-he’s used to things being just a bit crazy, but will she enjoy his family’s kind of crazy? The more he gets to know her…she might be more perfect than he ever imagined.
Tori is falling fast for Josh and somehow the thought doesn’t scare her. The troubling thing that does is Andrew keeps trying to pull her aside and mentioning her past mistakes. She knows he’s only trying to look out for her, like he’s always done, but nothing about Josh feels like a mistake. For the first time in her life she feels like Josh is the best decision she could ever make.
This is the first book in the the Boys of the Bayou series and I’m looking forward to reading more about this wonderful family.
Bayou boys … Southern men! Sometimes that first connection is all it takes. But you have to believe or you might just waste a year. And sometimes it takes longer, especially when your family and friends make you question yourself. Josh is from Louisiana, in the deep south, bayou country. His family knows things can happen fast, and that when it’s right it’s right. Tori is a veterinarian from Iowa. She’s in New Orleans, this time, for her best friend Andrew’s wedding. If you love animals, quirkiness, heat, New Orleans, or big plantation weddings, this story might be for you. If you love bayou boys, jump right in!
Erin Nicholas has outdone herself with this book. Whenever I read a Erin Nicholas book, I know I’m going to get an hilarious, fun-filled good read combined with steamy chemistry and heartfelt romance. My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding is steamy, it’s romantic, it’s laugh out loud funny and just so much fun to read.
I loved Josh and Tori as a couple and I loved their story. They’re attraction they had for each other just pours from the pages and they’re chemistry is insane and electric. The two are just perfect for each other and a match made in heaven.
One of the things I absolutely love about Author Erin Nicholas’s writing is the way she makes you feel like you are right there in the book. Everything; the scenery, the descriptive detail and the characters are just so beautifully written and developed, that you feel like you actually know and care about them. In particular, I just adored Josh’s quirky family and their hilarious conversations!
This is an fantastic book with plenty of humour, lust, sizzle, love, family oriented and a fun and fabulous storyline. An easy 5 star rating for me! I so cannot wait for Sweet Home Louisiana, the next book in the series.
Erin Nicholas has done it again. The Boys if the Bayou is a spinoff of The Boys Of The Big Easy. Don’t worry though, you don’t have to have read any of the ‘Big Easy’ books to live this one.
Tori came from Iowa to New Orleans last year to visit her best friend, Andrew. When Andrew gets caught up in what his girlfriend, Paisley, wants to do, Tori is left on her own. It’s Mardi Gras. She wanders into a bar and is immediately attracted to the hot bartender, who starts flirting with her. They make a connection and agree to meet up at the bar in one year, if they are still single and interested.
Josh is a bartender who also runs a swamp boat tour company with his family. He is struck by how beautiful and special Tori is. When they make the agreement to meet up at the bar in a year, Tori is all Josh can think about.
On the year anniversary, they are both eager to meet up. But when other people and the Mardi Gras crowd seem to conspire to keep them apart, will they be able to find each other and continue where they left off?
This book has it all; sexy Bayou boys, hysterically funny family members, meddling friends and a ticked off bride and wedding party. The characters are well written, even the bad guys.
If you are looking for a read that will make you laugh, touch your heart and make you swoon, you can stop looking, because this book delivers all three. A well written, fun story is combined with a lovable cast of characters to create a delightful read. Tori and Josh will quickly pull you into their world and have you actively rooting for this couple. Josh was simply amazing. A genuine good guy, he is filled with charm and is smoking hot! Tori was smart, kind and quirky. Their chemistry was atomic and the pull between them so easy to feel. A truly wonderful book that offers humor, strong emotions, steam, sweetness, family and romance all rolled into one perfect package! I’m really looking forward to the next book in this new series.
An Affair to Remember meets Mardi Gras and paves it’s own way to glory. Erin Nicholas proves that sentimental can be tempting. My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding scores plenty of laughs, but as always Nicholas’ continues to shoot for the heart. Josh and Tori are strangers who have a standing date on Mardi Gras. Time and distance make a relationship unthinkable, but their hearts refuse to let that get in the way. Is their romance, a heartache waiting to happen or is a happy ending on the horizon? Ain’t no party like a romance party because the love lasts all year round.
Tori Kramer is a verterinarian from Iowa. Her first visit to New Orleans was a short weekend where she ended up in the bar where Josh Landry was tending bar. They felt a connection with each other but Tori was soon heading home to Iowa. Josh knows Tori isn’t a “one-night-stand” kind of girl so he knows he doesn’t want to try to take that route with her. Instead they strike a bargain – they agree to meet again at Mardi Gras the next year. If they both show then their connection must have significant meaning. Now it’s one year later and things are a little more complicated than expected. Will Tori and Josh find happiness?
My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding by Erin Nicholas is the first book in her new Boys of the Bayou series and WOWZA is she ever kicking off this series with a real blockbuster. Tori and Josh are very likeable characters with lots of chemistry. I love how the author brought out their true personalities and let them discover the real Tori and the real Josh. Getting to meet Josh’s bayou family was fun and good for lots of smiles and laughs. This is a sexy, hot and most definitely fun read. A real make you feel good story!
Wow! What a fabulous start to the
Boys of the Bayou series!
I truly enjoyed reading Josh & Tori’s
book. It’s a funny, heartwarming
& sexy story.
Josh & Tori, met one year ago,
on Mardi Gras. There was clearly a connection between them.
After spending hours together,
the plan was for them to meet the same
time, next year.
This time, Tori’s best friend was getting
married. And that is when all the fun begins. Can’t wait for Book 2!
The emotions, the humor & their chemistry pulled me in, & kept me hooked!!!
I loved this book! It had me at the edge of my seat from beginning to end and had twists I didn’t see coming. We’ve met Josh before, as he is a bartender at the bar owned by the Trahan brothers in the Big Easy-series. He’s hilarious and sweet with a laughing out loud crazy family. Him meeting Tori and to see them interact was a joy. Other aspects of this story, brilliantly written both on the surface and everything you get to feel and see between the lines, had me spitting mad. I can’t really say what without giving away too much of the story, but Tori and Josh are truly perfect for each other. This is a match made in Heaven. Or Bayou… Crazy chemistry, emotions and personalities in bright colors. Just like Mardi Gras.
