This is book four in the Make Her Mine Series. Danielle and Nick were together since college, but when she finds out he’s been cheating, she goes to Levi, Nick’s best friend for help. Story is good with areas of stalking and medical issues. The characters are vivid and memorable. Good read!

Alexis Winter has written a 5-star book. Danielle has been with Nick for years and now things are not good between them. All he wants to do is party with his friends when he comes home. He works in New York on Wall Street and he is supposed to come home early but calls Danielle and tells her that he will be late. Danielle goes to the store to get something to eat and when she comes back home she sees a limo in front of the apartment that is rocking. She has a feeling it will be Nick but she opens the door and it is Nick with another woman. She throws the ring at him and leaves. She goes to Levi’s and tells him what is going on. He tells her that she can stay in his spare room until she decides what she wants to do. The more time they spend together, the more they enjoy each others company. Danielle wants Levi and he wants her but not when she isn’t sure with what she is going to do. The more time she is away from Nick the more out of control he gets. He calls her at work, waits outside her work, and he breaks into her home. Over time Danielle’s feelings for Levi grow stronger and they get together. When this happens Nick gets worse. He breaks into Levi’s apartment and this is when Levi calls Mia a friend of his to come and get Danielle to take back to her place to keep her safe. Danielle tries to call Levi later that night but the call goes to voicemail. Danielle knows something is wrong and she is ready to walk out the door when Mia catches her. She tells Mia something is wrong and she is going to Levi’s apartment. Mia tells her to wait and let her call him. Danielle remembers the security camera’s and she checks them on her phone. Just as she gets online to check, she sees Nick enter the apartment. She and Mia gets to Levi’s just as Nick is about to attack him and Levi asks her what is she doing there. She tells him that she tried to call and it just went to voicemail and she checked the cameras and saw Nick come in. Nick tells her that he wants her to come home and she tells him she is at home with Levi. This sets Nick off and he tells her that it was all set up by Levi, that he knew about Nick cheating on Danielle. She tells him that it is not true and turns to Levi to ask him about it. He tells her that it is true and the reason was that they were not friends and he did not want to get in the middle. He also told her that he told Nick to stop and if he didn’t she would find out about it at some point. Danielle tells her that she can’t talk to him at that time and leaves.
Will Danielle forgive Levi for keeping the truth from her about Nick?
Can Levi get Danielle to listen to him about why he did what he did?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

They couldn’t help themselves!
Dani’s fiancé is a cheating and more louse, and she deserves better. That’s how it began, but things changed drastically when she showed up at Levi’s door in tears. He’s always wanted her and almost been in love with her. Now it’s up to him to protect her from her ex, who has been threatening her since she threw him out upon learning of his cheating. Great characters, story, and writing make this a definite must read.

I loved this story so much… which I always say after I read a book by Alexis Winter. she creates these amazing characters that want to be invested in and cheer for them and she makes you feel so many emotions at times that it doesn’t seem possible. This book is no exception, I laughed, I cried, I felt anxious at times but overall it was a great read.
Its obvious from the start that Levi has feelings for Danielle but he’s trying to respect the fact that she’s with Nick, his best friend from college. When Nick finally mess up in front of Danielle she has had enough and she turns to the only friend she really has these days, which is Levi, who offers her his guest room. While living with Levi they both start to acknowledge/act on their feelings and their chemistry is off the charts. When Nick starts to show up everywhere looking for Danielle it becomes obvious he wont take no for an answer, but how far will he go?
Nick is one of the biggest D.B. characters I have ever read! I loathed him, but he was also everything I wanted in ex for a story like this. He cheats, does drugs, puts hands on people, only cares if he finishes… his actions allow the reader to ignore “bro code” and root for Levi to win the girl.
If you are looking for a steamy read, with crazy ex’s and great friends then this is definitely the book for you!

Ex-Best Friend’s Ex – She’s Mine!
Danielle & Nick have been in a relationship for years which has been one-sided. Levi is Nick’s best friend & has noticed how Nick’s changed & doing things behind Dani’s back. Finally, she catches Nick in a compromising position with another woman. Dani runs to Levi whom she trusts as a good friend. Their attraction is very strong but their treatment towards each other as “taboo” isn’t working so they go from friends to a “under-the-radar” relationship so Nick doesn’t retaliate with accusations of stealing her from him. Nick is obsessed with Dani & she sees his true colours.
An excellent story-line about possessiveness & the strength of Levi protecting Danielle from danger. The love between them is so strong that absolutely nothing or no one can separate these two people who are meant to be together.

Levi has a friend, Nick, who is becoming a real dick, cheating on his girlfriend, doing drugs, living a high life. Danielle has been Nick’s girlfriend since college and doesn’t have a clue what Nick is doing. A week after Nick asks Dani to marry him, she catches him making out with someone in a limo in front of their apartment. Nick and Dani break up and she runs to Levi. She realizes that Levi has feelings for her but she accepts the use of his spare room anyway. Dani begins to have feelings for Levi and then Nick starts stalking Dani and causing problems. There are more twists, turns and surprises that keep the pages turning. Finally Nick is handled and Levi and Dani elope, they have a baby and get a happy ending.
The Truth Will Out
When is friendship more of a curse than a blessing? Should I tell her he’s a liar and a cheat, a drunk and a drug user? When do I let her know that I am more than her lover’s best friend—that I love her?
Nick and Levi were best college buddies. They hung out together, went to the same places, saw the same people. That’s how Levi saw Danielle first and was captured by her beauty, but Nick worked his way through the crowd first, met her first, charmed her first, and won the girl first.
Now after years of being a trio—a guy, his girl, and his best friend (who happens to love his best friend’s girl)—Levi has had enough. He is tired of the lies and the coverups for Nick. He is tired of holding his feelings back. He is just tired. And, when careless Nick finally gets so cocky and sloppy that his lies and deceptions become clear to Dani, Levi lets Nick’s web of lies unravel. But, all these years, who has he protected and who has he harmed—Dani, Nick or himself?
Alexis Winter never allows the reader to simply ride the wave of romance to a HEA ending. She challenges the reader to think, to feel, and vicariously to sort out questions that no one ever wants to have to confront and certainly not answer. My Best Friend’s Ex: Make Her Mine is another tightly constructed, fast paced and emotionally draining romance that forces the reader to face dark issues—physical and emotional abuse—but does so in a way that enlightens and empowers, encouraging the reader that escape, with support, is possible. While this is a stand-alone novel, familiar characters work their way through the novel, assuring the reader that in the world of Alexis Winter, all will end well, and that love and friendship do triumph over the darker elements of our lives.

I absolutely loved this book, it was as great as the previous books of this series (and I was really happy that characters from the previous books made an appearance). Levi always had a thing for Danielle but she dated his best friend, Nick. Nick went from being a cheating jerk to a dangerous stalker. Thankfully Danielle could count on Levi and their relationship evolved in the best way possible. Great book, really hard to put down.

This novel was really great. Dani and Levi are a great couple., bought together after Levi’s best friend cheats on Dani. This is a tense, action packed, fast paced novel with lots of romance, and a little steam. The development of the story was very feasible and enjoyed how the relationship came about. It was fairly emotional as well touching in some tough subjects, all in an interesting way. Certainly a story I couldnt help but plough thru.

So. This is only my second Alexis Winter book and I liked it … a lot but I also found a few things I wish the author had done differently. In my opinion, the entire beginning of the book until about 60% was excellent. The tension Danielle and Levi experience right from the start of the book grows and moves the story forward as Danielle makes huge decisions and changes in her life and Levi becomes a closer and more important friend to her. The strong attraction and subsequent angst between them is intense and riveting. Finding their HEA and a nice Epilogue would have made me happiest as a reader. The last third of the book seemed to throw every single barrier at the main characters, keeping them from their HEA and taking a secondary character on one last over-the-top evil journey, thus making him almost too unbelievably awful. Their last hurdle was heartbreaking and I found myself asking, “What the heck! What else can these two people survive???” It was too much. I guess I’m a big believer of “less is more” and in this case, I wish the author had stopped way ahead of when she did.
In spite of my critiques, I found the characters well drawn and interesting and the writing in general drew me in and kept me reading and invested in the story. I do recommend this book and will continue reading this author.
This book is so good! Danielle and Levi start out as kind of friends, then things happen. I hated how much her ex kept messing with her, but it really helped the story along. Will they actually be able to have the relations they want?

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is a really cute story of how when Danielle realizes that Nick the guys she’s been with for 6 years is not the man she thought she goes to Levi his best friend who has been secretly in love with her. Awesome
Still don’t cross the Bro Code unless the friend is abusing the girl, then everything is off the table.
Nick and Levi went to college together and were best friends. Levi first saw Danielle at a game and fell in love on sight. Nick noticed Levi looking and Danielle and decided to swoop in and get to her before Levi did.
Nick was always like that, taking what somebody else did (spoiled rotten brat).
Nick got a new job on Wall Street and that ended up changing him. He traveled to work weekly while leaving Danielle at home.
Danielle and Levi worked at the same company. Levi as in house attorney and Danielle worked under Levi’s bosses wife.
Yea, you can see where this is going.
Nick took to drinking, drugs and women while working in NY (while Levi knew what he was doing but because he was his friend and Nick was supposed to quit, Levi never told Danielle)
Danielle saw the changes and didn’t like it at all and confronted Nick about it–Nick got physical with her, Levi came to the house and stopped Nick from chocking her.
Danielle moved in to Levi’s appt (he had a spare room).
Nick stalked Danielle. He followed her everywhere and even broke into Levi’s apartment.
Police reports were made, even filed a restraining order against Nick. He didn’t care. His thinking was if he couldn’t have her, then neither could Levi.
Now, you’;ll have to read the book to find out what happened.
But, I will tell you….it is a great book and will read Alexis Winter again.

This was a good, quick read. Lots of drama, angst, grief, and love between the pages. I really enjoyed the storyline! It was unusual in that it involved more than two people, and a pregnancy was thrown in for an extra bonus.

OMG, where do I start? This story is an absolute must-read. It is emotional, exciting, intense, and a great romance from start to finish. Danielle and Levi have great chemistry. Alexis Winter is a superb author and this may be her best book. Five stars are not enough. I certainly recommend My Best Friend’s Ex.
