From the moment I scent her, I have to have her underneath me.The human female spins and runs straight into my chest.“Oh!” she says but then she stops, frozen as she stares up at me. “Hi.”I, too, am stopped in place. This female is nothing like the others I have seen. She is petite, with long flowing black hair. Her features are as foreign to me as any humans, but for some reason I find her face … some reason I find her face pleasing.
Before I can think better of it, my tongue sneaks out over my lips to scent my surroundings.
But all I can smell is her.
And I’ve never scented anything so delicious in my life.
MINE.
It’s all but a convulsion that tears through my body.
What? No! No, this cannot be happening!
My denials are weak, though.
Far louder is the cry: Mine, mine, mine, mine, MINE, MINE.

Fun and steamy with great characters! Love the Draci aliens!
I thought that this was a good read. This book is a blend of cute and fun and serious and painful. I do not like to give spoilers but I feel that it is very important for some readers to be aware that this book contains content featuring domestic violence. I liked Juliet and Shak and I thought they made a great couple. Juliet was an all too realistic character and the cycle she was stuck in was heartbreaking. My heart broke for her and I’m so happy that she found Shak. Shak was an incredible book boyfriend. He had his own emotional baggage but you could not ask for a sweeter, more protective and totally swoon worthy hero. I found the storyline entertaining. There is drama, twists, a few big surprises, humor, heat, emotional turmoil, danger and excitement.
I went into this book not know what I was getting into — just knowing that I am a massive fan of Stacia Black and Aliena Romance.
I have to say that I was a little not confused just bewildered maybe is the right word at first, but when it comes to these types of books, you usually can get that way. We have an alien race that needs the human race to regenerate their population. One and only one has been chosen to go down to Earth to see if it will work.
Juliet is that chosen woman but only because Shak’s hormones tell him so. However, she is in a horrible relationship and doesn’t trust men. So when Shak shows up everywhere she is, she takes his friendship as it is.
This story is a little different and slow, but once you get into it, it will grab at your heartstrings and pull.
Stasia Black is known for her darker stories but this is a lighter, sexy alien “Mars Needs Women” romance. Shak is chosen to be the first Draconi go down to earth and find a woman to reproduce with. That sounds pretty cold and mercenary, but what Shak does is anything but clinical.
Unfortunately, my appreciation for Shak ended when he tasted stout beer for the first time, spit it out and scornfully said he’d never tasted “a more foul brew.” So, obviously, we’ve just established that Shak is certifiably insane.
Shak’s a hardened warrior and a lethal killing machine but under that reptilian-armored skin, he’s also woefully innocent about women. Their scientists tinkered around with their biology and took it too far, leaving them sterile. They think sex is only for reproduction, so he has zero experience. Falling for a woman is new to Shak—and a little confusing at times, but his enthusiasm, his snake-like tongue and his very non-human ‘package’ make up for any lack of experience.
A new type of alien to obsess about
—>>> “Shak,” a hot alien warrior sent to Earth with one important mission finds himself very involved in the daily life of one beautiful woman named Juliet. There are a few bends and curves in this story which made it a very entertaining start to this new series! Looking forward to reading about her best friends’ stories as well!
This is a quirky sci-fi romance. I read some of the negative reviews but I totally disagree with the opinions. Juliet has a lot of emotional baggage and I felt her reactions were within ‘normal’ given the situation. Wouldn’t you freak out if you had sex and the next morning your appearance changed? Shak is curiously funny and cute. He wasn’t really prepared for his arrival on earth. There are bad guys on both sides and then there is the REALLY bad guy and a twist from one of them at the end. And Shak’s roommate? Adorable. Just a wild and crazy guy… I enjoyed this book and didn’t think it was rushed, it just kept moving along.
I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
I enjoy Ms. Black’s books, and enjoyed the funny parts in this one, but it wasn’t my favorite. I just loved Shak’s character, and at first liked Juliet. But, it did not take me long to really not like her. In true Black form, the writing was good. Shak was there to find his mate. Juliet was not supposed to be her; however, when he meets her, his mind keeps screaming at him, mine, Mine, Mine! Oh well, I guess he’ll have to find a way to make her his!
The first book in the Draci series a well written book that once I started I was not putting it down. I see there is another book in this series and I will be reading it also. Shak is the bastard son of the king of his planet he meets Juliette and all he can think is Mine. I enjoyed reading their story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Book #1 of the Draci series.
WHAT HAS REALLY WORKED FOR ME
Addictiveness: 3.5/5 This was a fun, fast read that offered some good laughs and some great steamy scenes. As addictive as melted cheese!
Character: hero 4/5, heroine 4/5, secondary characters 4/5, growth 4/5, real 2/5 Good characters with a little bit of growth.
Shak was my favorite. He was an alien trying to save his species by being the first to join humans on Earth, to find his mate and procreate. He went through genetic therapy so he could become “human like” and look alike humans. I had a lot of LOL moments with him. Even when they were in peril or being serious, he cracked me up. I’m not even going to mention all his attributes, because you need to read to find out.
Juliet has had a tough life. She has been part of an abusive relationship for so long that she didn’t like, trusted or wanted men. She had some crazy moments, but I have to agree that what was happening to her was scary. She ended up being a really good heroine when needed.
Several interesting secondary characters, as I already have three or for characters that I would like to read their story.
The villain was a bit unexpected, which I’ve liked it. Most of the story was pointing out to one character and then it was a different one. Good twist!
These characters were not very complex, but they were easy to love, connect and understand.
Cover: art 4/5, title 5/5, color-font 5/5, buy 5/5 I’m obsessed with book covers. I love to find snippets of the stories within the art. This cover is pretty and it works for this book. I see the hero, I could guess the sci fi vibe of the story, it has used good coloring and font. The title is very pertinent and true! I would buy this book by its cover!
Freshness: 4/5 This was an interesting book with a few unique moments. It is not so different from all the alien’s romance out there, but it has a few one-of-a-kind moment. As fresh as mint tea!!!
Plot: believable 2.5/5, conflict 4/5, dialogue 5/5, ending 5/5, enjoyment 4/5, opening 4/5, pace 5/5, setting 4/5, subplots 3.5/5, twists 5/5 Interesting opening and amazing ending. An unbelievable plot that is so fun that we don’t really care for plausibility. Dialogues well written, with a fast-paced plot and a few ok subplots. The setting could have been better explored, but the twists were really good and elevated this story into to another level. Good level of satisfaction!!!
Romance: believable 5/5, chemistry 5/5, description 5/5, development 4/5, steam 5/5 This was the star of the book. Really, this was a romantic story. It was ista-love, but it felt believable, even for aliens :). Seriously, the couple had chemistry and the hero was an alien gentleman. He really knew how to treat a lady and that was what got Juliet in love with him. The heat was on! Very alien steamy scenes, that are panty-wetting worthy!
Writing Style: 4/5 I love the author and I’ve read a lot of her books. One thing that I love about her writing is that she writes in a variety of different genres and the core of her stories are always good. She has made me feel in some books, in others like this one, she made me LOL. Crafty writing!
WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER
I wanted to understand better these aliens, to know more of their world and their differences from humans. I guess because the book is not very long, we don’t get a very well rounded background.
MY THOUGHTS
Stasia is synonym of a good steamy time. Her romances are always hot, dirty and beautifully done.
Very likable characters that made me LOL that made them very easy to connect.
Can’t wait to read the next book!!!
28.5/35 STARS – 4 STARS (between 28 stars and 31 stars)

Their planet has become uninhabitable and they are unable to reproduce. So, what do the Draci decide to do? Come to Earth and insert themselves into the human way of life as a means of saving themselves. Shak is the son of a king but has some issues with the King’s wife and step brother which puts him in a lower caste. In order to elevate himself, he is tasked with being the first of his kind to become genetically modified to travel to Earth. He has spent a great deal of time learning human customs so that he can blend in seamlessly. Juliet has had her issues with men. No matter what, it seems as if she just makes the worst choices. When she comes in contact with Shak, there is just something about him that sets her on fire. However, she is involved with another man who does not treat her well. Is Shak the man to sweep Juliet off her feet? Is Juliet willing to take a chance on a stranger? This is a sweet romance with affable characters although it is a bit of a slow read in the beginning. I enjoyed the storyline that is filled with intrigue, drama and a lot of heat. The author’s writing style is witty and engaging although this is not my favorite of her body of work. I was fortunate to receive an advance copy of this book and all opinions are my own.
I Loved this book!
Juliet is just a normal girl in a bad relationship, until she meets Shak, an alien who is sent to impregnate a female from Earth to help further their race. Juliet’s life is turned upside down after the first meeting and things go awry.
Stasia Black has a unique way of writing that sucks you in and spits you out leaving you gaping and wanting more. I cannot wait to read the 2nd book in this series.
I absolutely loved this book. I’m not normally the alien genre type but this definitely kept my attention. The author took some very interesting angles I did not expect. One of my favorite things about it was Shak’s sweet innocence. He won me over first thing. The plot twists jumped out of nowhere! And, some really LOL moments. Finally, the teaser for the next book…I’m IN!
Oh my! This story was yummy in all the right places.
Stasia Black has written an awesome alien story that gives the reader hours of reading delight.
And those dual appendages, my oh my!
Shak, From Planet Draci, Has A Big Surprise In Store For Juliet!
Juliet, twenty-six, is in a dead-end relationship with her biker gang boyfriend of three years, Robbie. Having dropped out of college, she is barely scraping by. Hiding her abusive relationship, she has somewhat pulled away childhood friends Ana and Giselle over the past couple years. Still, when Ana calls an emergency meeting of the threesome at their local coffee shop, Juliet shows up no matter how often Ana exaggerates the urgency. The subject of today’s panic attack: aliens. Ana claims she has heard it from good sources on the black web that aliens are among us and have provided the brand new cutting-edge technology that is helping to reverse global warming and will save the planet.
Shak, from planet Draci, has been full grown for 281 years, but goes for twenty-eight in Earth years. He is the bastard son of King Thraxcruhxas. As a child, he was abandoned to the junkyard of Ogrocu. He worked his way up to the mining pits and eventually to the construction crews of the Salvation Ships, earning passage off his dying world. He is now part of a special mission to help save his race, which stopped reproducing a few hundred years ago. If he succeeds, Shak will bring honor to his family name and win a chance to earn back his birthright. For his mission, Shak is given a female target with an ideal DNA profile. His job is to impregnate her.
When Shak crosses paths with Juliet, his assignment suddenly takes a backseat to desire. He scents Juliet’s delicious smell and is overtaken by the hoarding impulse, the ancient curse of the Draci responsible for many wars, a trait that geneticists had supposedly bred out of his race hundreds of years before his birth.
Shak is thus smitten by Juliet, who is already committed to her loser boyfriend. They have good chemistry together. He must battle his inexperience and Juliet’s fears before the couple gets a chance at love. They earn their HEA.
This book is nicely written and is a quick read. The plot and characters are simple. The POV alternates between Shak and Juliet. I rate this book 3.5 stars.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another brilliant read from Stasia Black.
This short but very hot, sexy alien romance is funny, sweet and steaming hot with a fast paced storyline!
Very enjoyable!
I really enjoyed this book! I loved the characters. They pulled me into their story and I was hooked. Their story kept me reading as fast as I could. Plenty of chemistry and heat between them ! I loved the push /pull between them. I would highly recommend this Book! I can’t wait for more from this author.
This is different than other books that Stasia has written. It was a good book. It was a little slow starting and then started to pick up. Shak is the b**tard son of the King. Juliet is in an abusive relationship and cannot escape him. Shak takes matters in his own hands to protect her. Shak and Juliet were perfect for each other. She was a bit shutoff and I understood that. I am glad that she did start to believe in herself. There is some suspense, secrets, omissions and drama. They had an instant connection, and insanely hot chemistry. This had some good characters. Both of their friends made me laugh. Can’t wait to read the next one
Interesting start to this series, I’ve got no problem suspending reality for a sci-fi/alien romance. I loved the interactions between Shak and Juliet, although I was dismayed by Juliet’s current relationship before meeting Shak; it’s easy to say “why didn’t she just leave?”, but not having any experience with that particular issue, I won’t pass any sort of judgment or advice. I will say that Shak is 9867 types of upgraded boyfriend though!
“My Alien’s Obsession” is a very original and the most entertaining sci-fi romance ever. Shak, the Draci alien is a very well-developed and defined character who is very endearing, sexy and funny. I loved him!!! His interaction with Juliet is the most humorous, steamy and sweet alien encounter that I have ever seen and I just wanted more and more. There was something quite innocent about Shak that makes you love him. I can’t wait for the next book to find out what’s going to happen to Juliet’s friends. That little taste of Ann’s encounter left me begging for more. I highly recommend this book.
I received this book from the author and am very happy to provide an honest review.
