When a yes or no, changes your entire life…..Slater “Savage” HarlowI’ve got almost everything I need to have an amazing comeback year. My knee is good, my dedication is there, my determination never left, but the woman of my dreams? That’s still up in the air.Malone FulcherSavage walked away without so much as listening to what I had to say. We have a decision to make. Is it going to be … decision to make. Is it going to be marriage with late nights, dinners at one am, and stealing moments between road trips? Or will it be spending the rest of our lives alone, wondering why we couldn’t make it work?
Read the stunning conclusion to The MVP Duet.

MVP is the conclusion to The MVP Duet Series. After leaving readers hanging in On the DL, Laramie redeems herself by giving readers a HEA for Slade and Malone. I enjoyed this couple’s journey, and even though MVP is lower on the drama scale, it is still a great ending to the series.
Another great series by the talented Laramie Briscoe.
MVP is the final installment in the duet, where we find out how Malone and Slade pull through or pull out. It’s quickly picked up after the freezing moment from Malone in On the DL. The pieces are starting to be gathered and see if anything is salvageable or if they need to move on. They are learning how to cope with living in a big city, lack of privacy, and the ability to have their faces all over magazines. Not only is Slade a professional baseball player he also runs a big charity; women fall over themselves trying to get to him and Malone is struggling to deal with all the popularity. She has entered his charity and bringing her marketing experience, Malone is feeling as if she might have a handle on things. The road life provided many challenges to the relationship as well, but the couple showed maturity and talked through the feelings and worked out a plan. With a renewed love, a strong love, and a will to continue to work through problems instead of running the couple made a life long commitment.
I felt a little more empathy towards Malone in MVP, than I did previous. She had a lot of ugly, hateful, and hurtful things flung at her and she had to hold her head high and let things play out. Slade had many issues to work through, the publicity, the rekindling relationship and the battle of being on the road away from his love for days at a time. I feel as if they mature a little bit more in the second novel, they learned how to be individuals but a couple at the same time. I wish we would have seen a little more of their life in the off season, however it is a fast paced novel and that would have made the plot a little off kilter. MVP is a strong finish to the duet, not my favorite novel by Ms. Briscoe but worth the read.
MVP is the follow up to On the DL! Laramie left us all hanging at the end of book 1 but any and all hard feelings were gone with MVP!!! This is one of the best second chance romances I have ever read. The chemistry between Savage and Malone is great!! They made it through obstacles to find their HAE!!! Great read!!!!
I was excited to read MVP. The way book one ended, I felt like I was left with an open wound. The beginning of MVP was less dramatic I expected. I thought that we would start off where we left off in the first book. But, there was a lot of growing left in MVP. Laramie writes with emotion as you can feel it in her words. I really enjoyed this duet and excited to see what else this author will bring!
What happens after the couple confess their feelings? How do they get to that happily ever after? Will Malone and Slater finally overcome the past and head into the future together? How do you navigate through all that under a spotlight that focuses on professional athletes?
Laramie Briscoe is brilliant and MVP is amazing!! If you have ever wanted to see a couple beyond the ending, after they get together and learn how to become a cohesive, connected unit, MVP is for you. On the DL wrecked me but MVP made it all worthwhile. If you are a fan of Kristen Ashley, I beg you to try Laramie Briscoe as she will knock your socks off. Her writing pulls you in and wraps you up in the characters and their lives. I did feel a little nervous as I read, waiting for something to derail Malone and Slater’s relationship. However, Ms Briscoe never throws unnecessary drama into her stories so I shouldn’t have worried. Ten stars for MVP!
I love that after the cliffhanger we were left with in book 1, the author immediately puts our mind at ease. She takes us through Slater & Malone’s life and tells the story in a way that makes you want to become friends with them, because she does it in an easy flowing, fun and adds a sprinkle of enough sexy to keep you engaged. This is a great duet.
I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! This was an amazing ending for this Duet! Still so much heart and heat!! Malone and Savage together is so beautiful! This was such a great story!! LOVE!!
As soon as I finished reading “On the DL,” I immediately began reading this book to know what would happen between Malone and Slater.
The beginning of this book shows the conclusion of what happened at the end of the previous book.
Throughout this book, we can see the relationship of Malone and Slater, as well as the friendship that Malone develops with Felicity, JD’s wife, another player of Svage’s team. And also Savage’s relationship with his teammates, especially JD and Jax.
Caleb and his family also appeared in this story, giving support to Slater throughout the championship.
Despite some problems along the way, Malone and Slater can overcome and move on, showing that the love between them is bigger than anything else.
I wondered what an interesting story it would be about Jax and Cherry, perhaps? I think the two characters have a lot in common.
This is a great conclusion for this duet.
I highly recommend the reading.
This was a great conclusion to the duet about Malone and Savage. Now that they have made it this far together, can they make it work? Playing for a Major League Baseball team takes up much of Savage’s time, and can Malone feel like she can be part of that life and all that comes with it. It is safe to say the cliffhanger from the first book was answered immediately in the beginning of this book – thank goodness! I was given an ARC for an honest review. You don’t want to miss this great duet by Laramie Briscoe!
MVP is the conclusion to On the DL and starts off with Malone going after Slater. We get a year of them being married and getting use to him traveling. The mean things fans can say and the great friendships that were built between some of the baseball wives. Malone does go through a period that she questions her trust in Slater but they work through it and come out stronger. I read this book in a few hours and look forward to the next book by Laramie Briscoe. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
MVP is the second book in The MVP Duet. You’ll wany to read On The DL first. MVP picks up right were On The DL ended. I don’t read alot of sport romance books but Laramie didn’t disappoint me. I really enjoyed reading both books. The details were great and the characters are loveable.
Slater is swoon worthy!!! I am glad to see Malone step out of her comfort zone.
MVP was a great 5 star read, this is book two in the MVP Duet series.
I was looking forward to seeing more following the way book 1 ended but was slightly disappointed. I was ready for a fight and it fell short. But don’t get me wrong, this book was a great read.
Savage and Malone are getting acclimated to marriage, baseball season and what comes with it. These two definitely have a learning experience on communication and working on their relationship. They have struggles of being apart and dealing with work, fans and so much more.
The secondary characters added a great element to the story. We get some hot and steamy scenes and a HEA. If your looking for a great second chance romance with a couple that has great chemistry I highly suggest this series. Laramie Briscoe pulls you right in with her writing and you won’t want to put the book down until your done.
This is not my very favorite Laramie Briscoe book. That may be the focus on the sports life style. It has never been a big trigger for me, but it sure is for lots of folks. I loved being able to be a part of this couple adjusting to their new life in the spotlight. This story is recommended. Big plus if you like baseball.
I really enjoyed this book. The way the first book, “On the DL”, ended, you were not sure how this one was going to go. Watching Malone adjust to Slade’s wealth, schedule and drama in their first year of marriage was very enlightening. It was great to see Malone make new friends and become a “professional baseball” wife. Slade was his usual “hunkiness”. I really liked how Slade finally got it through his thick skull that Malone wanted to be her own person and not just a shadow of him.
Would have liked to see how they got back together after the way “On the DL” ended but was so glad to see Slade and Malone got their happily ever after finally. I also loved how Laramie Briscoe brought back Mason, Karina, Kels, Caleb and Ruby to visit. It’s always great to have some of the characters from her other books appear in her new books. Can’t wait for the next book.
MVP is part two and picks up where On The DL left off. It sure starts with a bang … and honestly kind of caught me off guard – but not in a bad way. I wasn’t expecting the quick progression of the story, but quickly understood and agreed with this approach. The overall pace was great, continued character development and of course, the HEA. I think I liked this one better than the first book probably due to the well presented story line progression. Another great one from Laramie! Highly recommend this book.
This book did not start off where I was expecting it to after the ending of the last book. I will say I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, but it never did. As I sit here after finishing it, I realized it didn’t need unnecessary drama. This is a story of two people trying to get through that first year of marriage with the spot light on them. I actually don’t watch or follow sports so this was a bit of an eye opener in some of the things a sports star would have to deal with.
Slater and Malone have no problem with chemistry but are they ready for rabid fans, away games and the spotlight? Can these two find their way or will lack of communication be their downfall?
I enjoyed this series and would recommend it to those that love second chances, sport boyfriends and HEA….actually even if you only like one of the three, give it a go.
Omg what an amazing conclusion to this duet. I admit I’m not a huge baseball fan but I’m definitely a fan of these two crazy and sexy as shell characters.
If you didn’t fall in love with them in the first book you will in this one for sure. Malone and savage are just too hot. I want to spill everything about this book to you but then you won’t read it.
Sweet merciful writer… Thank you Laramie for giving us Malone and Slade in a two book story. Really despite my eye roll at the ending of book one because I wanted the rest “now” I am so glad she took the time to do it right.
I can’t even begin to imagine what topics Laramie didn’t discuss that actual high profile couples go through. Just the implied photos and comments would be enough to send me raging but really Malone and Slade handle their first season as a married couple beautifully. No over done drama. No unnecessarily strung out chapters. Just a wonderfully told story about two people who fought hard to get where they truly wanted to be – together.
Fantastic.
Loved, Loved, Loved this final installment of the MVP duet !! We get an inside look to the struggles that Slade and Mal have as their marriage takes off along with the struggles with Slade getting into the swing of things during the season ! I love that LB kept their struggles real and the secondary characters were a great addition!! I love that Slade and Mal didn’t let their fights and insecurities ruin what they were starting and that they addresses their problems as they came to light ! All in all I’m loving this duet and you will two!!!
If you like a good second chance romance, then this duo is for you. It has all the things you want in a good book: love, loss, heartache, and miscommunication. At the end I wanted to smack the main characters, but in the second book the misunderstanding is fixed.
