When a yes or no, changes your entire life…..Slater “Savage” HarlowI’ve got almost everything I need to have an amazing comeback year. My knee is good, my dedication is there, my determination never left, but the woman of my dreams? That’s still up in the air.Malone FulcherSavage walked away without so much as listening to what I had to say. We have a decision to make. Is it going to be … decision to make. Is it going to be marriage with late nights, dinners at one am, and stealing moments between road trips? Or will it be spending the rest of our lives alone, wondering why we couldn’t make it work?
Read the stunning conclusion to The MVP Duet.

I was patiently waiting for this one to see what happened between Savage and Malone. I was not disappointed. I absolutely loved this one as much as the first one. This one continues on from the first one. Shows how Malone handles being a baseball wife. I absolutely love the chemistry between Savage and Malone. It is amazing to watch them together and make things work. Laramie did an amazing job writing this one. I absolutely loved this series and these characters. Highly recommend. Guarantee you will enjoy Savage and Malone.
A refreshing story. This book was equally as good as the first. Malone and Slater learn to navigate through their new life together. It was refreshing to read a story about marriage; the compromises, understanding of what the other person is going through and most of all communication. It’s not always easy but with a little bit of work, it will all work out. This was a nice, fast paced, almost too sweet story. I loved it!
This is the stunning conclusion to the MVP duet. I executive book to pick up where In the DL left off and I was surprised it didn’t. I really admired Slater and Malone’s resilience to make their relationship stronger.
I’m excited to see what’s next from Laramie Briscoe.
This doesn’t exactly play out how I pictured it. After the crazy emotional rollercoaster ending from the first novel, I just was expecting something different.
This novel dives into the normal, everyday changes, a famous couple would encounter. Slater and Malone battle the ups and downs on being a newly married relationship with the limelight focused on every level of challenges.
Malone struggles with the media being vultures. She doesn’t handle it at all well.
Slater shuts down his emotions because he doesn’t want to scare her off.
It’s definitely more realistic that some of the other relationship novels from this author. It’s easy to picture life for these. I just wanted more into their lives that what the author gave.
3.5 Stars
MVP is the conclusion to the MVP Duet and Slater and Malone’s story.
After the previous title’s ending in a cliffhanger I was eager to see where this story went.
This pair may get over the issues of their past, but they still have quite a few issues to face being a couple in the spotlight.
An enjoyable title with heat, heart, steam and humor.
I loved seeing past characters from the Moonshine Task Force series appear throughout this title.
Unfortunately for me, I didn’t love this title as much as Laramie’s previous works, but it’s still an entertaining and engaging story.
MVP by Laramie Briscoe is the final book in the MVP Duet . The concluding story of Slater “savage” Harlow and Malone Fulcher. Angst filled and wonderfully emotional, the story of how to get past insecurities and to put your faith in another person so completely was wonderfully managed in Slater and Malone’s concluding story. With some guest appearances from the MTF father & Son team his book was wonderful. Thoroughly devoured it! Enjoy!
Let me start off saying this wasn’t my favorite Laramie Briscoe book, but that in no way is a reflection on her. I love her writing and I love the characters she creates I just couldn’t really get into the duet. I would go through patches of the book where I felt disconnected from the characters and I hate when that happens. I think it was more me than the story itself it was hard for me to relate to it.
I found Malone and Savage to both be a little too immature for what they were trying to do with their relationship and it never really seemed like either one of them ever really understood where the other person was coming from. Book 1 ended on a cliff hanger and while Book 2 here resolves the cliff hanger fairly early i was just very underwhelmed by it.
I finished the book and it had some great moments in it but i just didn’t quite get into like I have her other series.
I would say its definitely worth the read to give it your own shot. A good love story just not one i loved enough to add to my re-read list.
*3.5 stars*
Savage and Malone left us on the edge of our seats at the end of “On the DL” because they were right back to where they started. As readers though we are hoping they get it right this time around because what is the point of a second chance if you don’t risk your heart. The MVP picks up where the last book left off and Malone is going after her man in the most romantic way. When she catches up with him at his home they have it out and Malone finally tells Savage how she feels. Once he finally listens to what she says they make moves to have their forever. The two of them get married but they are rushed into their new life because it’s at the start of Spring Training. Malone and Savage are thrust into their new roles and with that comes new insecurities. Savage is trying to do anything he can to keep Malone happy and bring her into his world. Malone is trying to keep from falling apart while Savage is away most of the time. I love that they are both willing to fight but sometimes Malone reminded me of a whiny teenager. She would just over think things and they would have a fight for what I don’t know. Savage is a saint because he can basically put up with anything. I love him because he is sweet, alpha, caring and loves what he does. He works hard for himself and the people in his life. It is a great story, but it seemed to slow down towards the middle then picked back up towards the end. It is a wonderful way to close out their story with their love shining through.
*I read an ARC and this is my honest review.*
This is the second part of the MVP duet and the conclusion to Slater and Malone’s story. I was waiting for this one to see where Slater and Malone’s journey take them. This book gives a look at the life a ball player on and off the field. It’s not going to be all sunshine and roses, but Slater and Malone have waited long enough not to hold on to their forever or can they? This is an easy read. For a big baseball fan like I am I enjoyed the baseball as much as the romance in the book.
I absolutely loved the continuation of Malone and Slater’s story!!!! It picks up right were we left off in the first book. Now that they are newly married (yay) they now have to deal with the life of a baseball player. Overnight trips, busy times, and the unexpected roller coaster ride that comes with being married to a famous ball player. The love that they have for each other is what keeps them grounded and able to handle anything life throws there way. Together they are stronger and their love can withstand anything. This author never fails to deliver a fantastic story with phenomenal characters and this book is no different. I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next and I highly recommend this duet to everyone. Its a well written story that will have you hooked from beginning to end like it did me. Another fantastic book by this talented author….well done!!!!!
This is the conclusion to Malone and Slades story so you do need to read On The DL first. Picking up where the story left us in On The DL, Malone has made her decision and she knows exactly where her priorities lie. Slade let his insecurities get the best of him in the past but he knows his life won’t be complete without Malone in it and given the chance he’d do whatever it takes to make her happy.
I loved both Malone and Slade. They share a deep love and they’re just really sweet together. This is a low drama romance with characters that are really easy to like and it’s a great conclusion to Malone and Slades story.
MVP picks up RIGHT after the dramatic ending of On the DL. We see how Slater and Harlow works hard at making their relationship work.
Malone’s need for being independent is still very much in the forefront. She needs to know she isn’t just the wife of the Birmingham Bandit’s MVP, but that she can offer Slade, and herself, more.
Savage is still the hard working ballplayer, we came to know and appreciate in On the DL, this time he just happens to take his role as husband more serious than most. But as their relationship comes under scrutiny by the press and fans, their love will truly be tested.
As with the book one in this series, my severe lack of understanding of the game makes this an harder book to read and I really struggled. The storyline in itself is good, but I lost interest rather quickly when there was talk of baseball. At the same time, Laramie Briscoe delivers a beautiful story of how love can conquer all when you love each other and are filling to high for it. However I didn’t fall in love with this book, which is why it gets 3.5 stars from me.
Book two of Slade and Malone’s story was a good read that was low on drama. With the story picking up where book one ended, I just had to see where their story went after the cliffhanger in book one! This was an enjoyable read that was low on drama and was a quick read. It was good to watch the pair as they navigated the changes in their lives such as getting married and dealing with the fame of Slade’s career. I liked the appearance of Caleb and Mason from the Moonshine Taskforce that cemented Slade’s tie to Caleb from college. I enjoyed the book from the start and it was a good end (or end for now) for their story. I can see the pair making appearances in other books. I would recommend this book to others.
Somehow I survived the wait for this book. I feel like that sounded really dramatic because I know it wasn’t that long, but still, Laramie Briscoe killed me with the first half of this duet and I was desperate to find out what was going to happen next in Slade and Malone’s story. Picking up right where we left off in On The DL, MVP did not leave me hanging and waiting for answers. I was instantly pulled right back in to Malone and Slade’s world and hooked the second I started reading!
I fell even more in love with these two in this epic conclusion to their story. Everything I love about Laramie Briscoe’s writing was showcased in their story. The sweet swoony romance, the deliciously sexy heat, and the heartfelt emotion are all outstanding in MVP! I don’t want to give too much away because trust me, you want to experience every bit of the feelings this book brings out in you.
What I will say is I loved these two together. Through the ups and downs the connection they have only grows stronger along with the deep love they feel for each other. They grow and learn together throughout the second half of their story and become an even more incredible couple.
We were left hanging with On the DL, now we get to find out what happened with Slater and Malone.
These two have always been meant to be together. It just took them some time to get there, and now Malone has to live with the way people talk and try to cause problems for them in their personal life.
You need to read this because their story is so worth it.
Absolutely loved this duet. Ms Briscoe has written a wonderful conclusion to Malone and Slater’s story. Considering the Cliffie at the end of part one, I was fearful for Book 2. After these high school sweethearts lost 10 years of life together and had finally reconnected it seemed like history was going to repeat itself. But would it? Or would one of them take the first step and get their life on the right track this time.
On a personal level, we deal with Slater’s return to baseball. Has his knee held? Will he return to the field being the MVP he once was or will he be regaled to the bench and coaching the younger players? As for Malone, will she return to her former career or will she be able to convince Slater that being his wife is what she wants and she can deal with anything that’s thrown their way?
I loved this duet. It charm and heartwarming tenderness will leaving you smiling. Even the rough patches in their relationship will have you secretly grinning as you await the outcome. 2 Thumbs Up for this amazing duet. One I high recommend grabbing up, you’ll be very happy you did so.
After the cliffhanger of the 1st book, I was excited to read that the drama was resolved quickly in the 2nd book. It was great to follow Malone & Slater’ s growth through their 1st baseball season together as a married couple, learning how to deal with real life issues and grow together as a couple.
MVP, MVP duet #2, by Laramie Briscoe was a bit different than what I was expecting, in a totally good way. On the DL, book 1 in the duet, was a bit more of a slow burn second chance romance with light angst and an ending that will want to have you throwing your e-reader. While MVP was more of how do you build a foundation and a future with the person you love the most.
I do not want to give anything away, but this book started way differently than I expected. After the ending of the first book, I was left shocked. This book picks up not long after and even with the unexpected start, once you get into the story it all ties together. Slater and Malone have choices to make. Do they give in to what both want more than anything and put their fears aside or walk away and throw all they could have away?
What I loved about MVP the most is normally once you get the happily-ever-after, the story is done. In this book we get to see Slater and Malone fighting for what they want. Their journey may not always be easy and they do have obstacles they face, but it is how they face them that matters the most.
I loved how much Slater and Malone loved each other and were not afraid to show it. They wanted to ensure forever and fought hard to have it. MVP was a heartwarming read about fighting for love and future and again, loved seeing old friends.

Happy reading!
Amazing story line and i gave it 5 stars. amazed at how strong Malone is wanting to work and asking for stuff , so savage cant be taking advantage of and working to prove her self worth ot him. this is her trying to make up for lost time with them both . a lot of irritation going on on the busy season, not enough alone time. the end left me with questions , but i love the story, just wanted it to continue. laramie Briscoe you’ve done it again!!!!!
I loved the conclusion of Slade and Malone’s story. Now thrust into the full season, this couple learns to navigate the new norm of their lives, while staying true to themselves and building thier future. In the end all that really matters is honesty and love.
