Like Roswell meets Lost in SpaceNineteen-year-old Elizabeth ‘Beta’ Camden is a survivor. When the E’mani—those pale alien freaks—destroy Earth with a plague of madness and scoop up the remains, Beta is one of the ‘lucky’ ones. For years, she endures their tortures, experiments and games. Then one day, she manages to escape their ship with her life, and no memory of her time with them. Stranded on …
Stranded on their world, Beta wanders the mountains, looking for a way home. She stumbles onto the Fost—the E’mani’s ancient enemy. Their war with the Imani is old and rooted in magic that the Fost once had and the Imani crave. Magic Beta soon discovers she’s developing along with strange tattoos and disturbing glimpses of her past. The Fost take her in and train her in their ways. As she spends more time with them, she falls in love with their culture and with Marin—he of the hot hands and slit eyes.
But the E’mani took her for a reason and they want her back—dead or alive. If Beta doesn’t remember that reason soon, they’re all going to die.

Must Remember

This is the second book that I have read by this author and again I really enjoyed it. The genre of this book isn’t one that I usually read however because I like the authors writing style I thought I would give it a go and I am glad that I did. There was a lot going on in this book and my attention was held from beginning to end. The characters were well developed and I enjoyed reading their story. One thing I really like about this author is her brilliant world building skills – her descriptive language allows me as a reader to fully imagine what I am reading and what is taking place in the story. There were some good and unexpected twists and turns and a love triangle thrown in!! I am definitely looking forward to more from Ms Myers in the future.
This was my first Colleen S Myers’s book. ”Must Remember – Dead of alive, They Want Her Back” is the first book in the Solum Series, a Sci-Fi, YA story. Overall, I liked this story. Finn, Marin and Elizabeth (Beta) are interesting characters. Somewhere along my listening, I was puzzled about Beta’s lovers. The scenery was beautifully well described. The plot was well written, captivating and intriguing. The narration was well done, easy to listen and all characters were easy to distinguish. I enjoyed my listening. I’d love to listen to the next book in the Series. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Must Remember is the first book in the Solum series by Colleen S. Myers. It is a ‘new adult’/science fiction story with a love triangle, action, adventure, aliens, magic, survival, memory loss, and good vs. evil. It is just under 200pages, which made it a quick and easy read.
Elizabeth (Beta) Camden’s world turns upside down- going from being a typical college student one minute, to waking up on an alien world with missing memories, the next. As she is trying to figure out where she is and what’s going on- she runs into a Fost- one of the planets native inhabitants…. And the story takes off from there. She learns about the world she’s on, and little snippets of memories begin to return. She is drawn to two ‘men’- and spends a lot of time trying to decide between the two. There is danger, and a much at stake- a lot rests on her remembering. How did she get there? Why did the aliens abduct her? What do they want? What exactly happened, and why can’t she remember?
First of all, I love the cover! I was drawn to it right away.
Beta’s story was quite interesting, but she did frustrate me a lot with her inner dialogue and indecision. And I usually don’t mind a love triangle in a book, but I felt this one was quite distracting, and it added unwarranted drama and complication to the storyline. #TEAM MARIN…
The world building was on-point, with wonderful descriptions and details. The characters were interesting and original. The story got off to a fantastic start, with a great pace- but did lose some of that momentum in the middle of the book.
I am looking forward to book #2.
Thank you, Ms. Myers!
First book I’ve read by Ms. Myers and won’t be my last. An intriguing story. Elizabeth “Beta” Camden is just an every day kind of girl till her world is turned upside down. She awakens in a strange world. All she wants to do is find a way home. The people there are The Fost and want her dead because she is garbed in their enemies clothing. Finn and Ute are of a different mind. They don’t see her that way. Since her showing up, magic is returning. People still don’t trust her but she now has Finn and the clan chief Marin vying for her attention. The Imani are coming to kill them all but also to get Elizabeth back. I’m looking forward to the next book to see where the story of Elizabeth, Marin, Finn and The Fost people will take me.
This is a fantasy book and my first for aliens. I found this book to be enjoyable once I got into it. I found the plot to the story interesting and different. This is about a woman, Elizabeth, who wakes up on another planet with some of her memories missing. When a group finds her, she has to decide to trust them or not. The characters took me on a journey of twists and turns of a love triangle you won’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book.
Must Remember: Dead or alive, they want her back. (Solum Series Book 1)
By: Colleen S. Myers
5 out of 5 stars
The story Must Remember: Dead or alive, they want her back. (Solum Series Book 1) by Colleen S. Myers is a science fiction/fantasy book. I really enjoyed reading this story. It draws you in from the very beginning and I found myself not wanting to put it down until I had read the final page. I also found myself turning pages wondering what was going to happen next and if all the mysteries/questions that are raised will be solved. I loved reading about the character of Elizabeth ‘Beta’ Camden. She is a young woman who finds herself with a race called the Fost. Beta is someone who although has fears wants to find out the questions that arise when she is found. There are gaps in her memory that are frustrating as she tries to make sense of what has happened to her. She also is interested in learning about the people that she now resides with. The Fost are trying to survive. The war that they are in with their enemy has been a long one. While many are not trusting of Beta there are those that are curious and want to know more about her. The Fost has an old enemy that is ruthless and cruel. The answers to why the Fost’s enemy took Beta and now want her back becomes all the more important as time passes. Will Beta regain her memories? How much danger are the Fost and Beta really in? Read this book to find out. I loved that this story does an amazing job of giving details on the world that Beta finds herself on and the people she meets. I found myself feeling like I was right there with her seeing what she does. I also enjoyed reading about the other characters that are part of the story and that interact with Beta. One is a very handsome and charming Fost named Marin. They both feel the heat and electricity when they are near each other. This is an interesting and wonderful story that I would highly recommend reading. It is the first book in a series and I look forward to reading the next one.
A great read about aliens. An alien race called the E’mani have caused devastation to Earth and captured its people. Among them is Elizabeth, a prisoner on board their ship. The E’mani are cruel and heartless, torturing her endlessly. When she develops magic, she escapes to seek answers, but can you escape the E’mani?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Elizabeth fighting to stay alive but a kind side underneath. Great villain that will send shivers up your spine. Loved the contrasts between everyday college life and alien spaceships blend of realism and fantasy which was beautifully written. I also loved visual detail throughout the novel like with the claustrophobic sense of the spaceships and corridors and labs which was great for a sense of fear. Fast paced action and high stakes made for a captivating read. Overallt read and I would give it five stars.
Must remember is Book one in the Solum series from author Colleen S. Myers.
Must Remember literally held me drawn since the first page and held me there until the end.
Colleen S. Myers created an incredibly vivid, mentally visual read. As I was reading Must remember I couldn’t help but picture the whole planet in my mind while reading it, the look and descriptions of each individual character that Beta comes into contact with. All of it makes for an incredible sci-fi, alien romance novel filled with action, adventure, mystery, suspense, romance and most important an incredible plot. Each of the characters are making their own impressions on Beta and the way acts around them, but you can’t help but love Finn, Marin and Ute, but each of these characters has their own story to be told and I loved reading their interactions, feelings and ideas of why Beta is there. Along with the brilliant connections, we cannot forget the magic that is weaved through the story and the history of it.
Overall this was an incredible read that I loved. I cannot wait to dive into this world again in Book 2 – to see what continues with Beta’s story.
This was a okay story. It was a lot more complicated and hard to read than I thought it would be. I like that there was a lot of romance in it and the characters were well written. I was disappointed that they wasn’t a lot of character development but maybe that was that way becuase the author wanted to explore in the future. It was a okay read. Don’t know if I will read the rest or not.
Must Remember by Colleen Myers
Stars:4
I loved how this story began. It helps to understand where the character started. This story has ups and downs, and Elizabeth’s story isn’t done yet. She is loyal and knows what she wants! She is willing to stand by her beliefs, and do what is right. This story was excellent and I enjoy it.
Must remember was a very interesting 4 star read and book one in the Solum series.
The way this book starts is really twisted and insane. I had no idea what was going on right along with Elizabeth. Elizabeth ends up waking up in a whole new world with two suns. She is beyond confused, she ends up meeting some men that take her back to their village.
Elizabeth would have memories here and there, she was also learning about her magic. We also get a love triangle when Finn and Marin are vying for her attention and they are not shy about it. I wasn’t quite sure how I felt about Marin at first, he seemed a little shady for me. Finn pulled me in until some secrets were revealed. I’m still on the fence on whose team I’m on.
There is so much more that goes on, danger, secrets, suspense and action. I really liked Elizabeth’s strength and sassiness, I had so many LOL moments with her. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. We do end with a cliff hanger and I can’t wait to see what happens next. Colleen has done another great job of pulling you right in with her writing.
Must Remember: Dead or alive, they want her back. (Solum Series Book 1)
Four Stars
This story is the first glimpse we get of this authors new world. There are different species, different planets and powers. This story revolves around a girl named Elizabeth aka Beta. She knows someone is after her and willing to do anything to get her back. Marin is the chief and is attacked to Beta but she has feeling for Finn. This starts a wild love triangle that is just crazy. Beta doesn’t know who to trust with her emotions. Finn who doesn’t believe in fidelity. I wanted to reach through the book and slap Finn. This keeping his options open is complete bs. Marin was wrong for how he handled it. The story was good but it could’ve been stronger in the action department. With that being said you see read a lot about the relationships but not the story behind the other characters like Finn and Marin. I enjoyed the story and would definitely read more from this author.
Must Remember: Dead or alive they want her back. (Solum Series Book 1)
By Colleen S. Myers
This book was original, fun, action packed, and entertaining. I enjoyed reading about Elizabeth “Beta” Camden, she is a young women who finds herself on a strange planet with big gaps in her memory. She ends up meeting people who are the fost and they are wary of each other, and I think the dynamic between them is very well written including the romance. I really enjoyed reading every minute of this story. I loved all the characters and suspense involved in this story. You must read to find out if she gets all her memories back. You must also read to find out if she can stay out of danger and away from those that want her back, dead or alive. This is a must read, I highly recommend reading this book and can’t wait to read the next one.
Must Remember: dead or alive they want her back: the Solum series by Colleen Myers is a young adult fantasy romance with a twist of aliens. It is an interesting story that is engaging and quick read. There are a lot of unique elements that help you to imagine the characters and the worlds and creatures that Colleen has created. Throw in some action and mayhem, magic and aliens, fear and longing and a love triangle. Waking up on a mysterious world with no memory of how you got there or where you have been, is where our protagonist finds herself. There is much more to this story to come.
Must remember is Book one in the Solum series from author Colleen S. Myers.
This book has literally held me captivated since the first page and held me there until the very end. I was not expecting to be drawn into the action, suspense and mystery quite so early on in this read but it made everything more heightened while reading it.
Elizabeth ‘Beta’ is introduced straight away and we are thrown into her world – one that not only becomes a mystery to her, but to us as well. We follow her on the journey of ups & downs. The mystery surrounding her own existence on this unknown planet. She becomes a mystery to everyone – and they try anything to figure out why and how she got there and of course the biggest suspense of them all why she was wearing enemies clothing.
This author has created an incredibly vivid, mentally visual read. I couldn’t help but picture the whole planet in my mind while reading it, the look and descriptions of each individual character that Beta comes into contact with. All of it makes for an incredible sci-fi, alien romance novel filled with action, adventure, mystery, suspense, romance and most important an incredible plot.
Each character that Beta interacts with, comes across to you as the reader in different ways. Each of them making their own impressions on Beta and the way acts around them, but you can’t help but love Finn & Marin and of course Ute, but each of these characters has their own story to be told and I loved reading their interactions, feelings and ideas of why Beta is there. Along with the brilliant connections, we cannot forget the magic that is weaved through the story and the history of it.
I loved that we were learning all things along with Beta, it made everything seem more real, and as though we were there living out the story ourselves.
Overall this was an incredible read that I loved that I got the chance to read, and cannot wait to delve into this world again in Book 2 – to see what continues with Beta’s story.
Must Remember (Solum #1)
By Colleen S. Myers
Rated 4 stars
This is an interesting story. The plot was good and I struggled to put it down and read it fairly quickly. The characters caused me to worry and wonder about them. Who is telling the truth? What will happen if they get caught? This story starts by introducing Elizabeth or Beta. She wakes up on the ground and she doesn’t remember where or why or how she got there. The Fost are instantly suspicious because she is dressed like their enemy. While they try to get answers from her, Beta comes into contact with an assortment of characters. Some are very hard to figure out. Others show their true colors very quickly. The magic that is displayed throughout the story was very cool. I don’t want to say much but….lucky her!
The author did an amazing job describing the background and letting the characters fill us in on their background. Neither were boring or dull but kept me interested in this different world. What happened to Beta slowly comes out through the story. So that is a huge draw to keep me going in the mystery/alien romance. So this is my first book with aliens in it. I think because they were somewhat like humans it seemed a smooth transition.
I have read other books by this author. She seems to deliver a smooth storyline with interesting characters. This one is no exception.
I’ll be honest this isn’t a genre i usually read but I’m so glad i did was an amazing novel i was so engrossed in the storyline i couldn’t set it down. The story certainly keeps you on your toes so much going on takes you on a incredible journey. I could really picture myself there along side the character’s and i really loved how original the storyline was another reason why it kept my interest right til the very end!
Must Remember: Solum Series book one written by Colleen S. Myers was a pleasantly addicting read. This isn’t my usual genre though I will read a book or two occasionally. I’m glad I picked this one and I look forward to the next book in the Solum Series: Can’t Forget. The main character is quick witted and even when she’s stressed out and freaked out she responds with sarcasm and quick humor…even if they don’t quite understand what she’s saying by using human slang and features she knows and that’s what matters. As the story progresses you watch her grow as a character and get more bold with the other characters. Beta is adapting to her surroundings and situation as much as she can with Finn and Marin there to help along with the guidance of Ute and his books what could go wrong….
This book genuinely surprised me in the best of ways. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is attention grabbing. Even being in a fantasy setting, it somehow felt realistic and relatable. I really enjoyed it and continue to be a fan of Ms. Myers.
If you are looking for a good science fiction story with a new twist this book is for you. Colleen Myers is an amazing author who takes you a ride that you do not want to get off until the end. The story is about Elizabeth Camden’s or better known as Beta. Her world is coming to topsy-turvy, as she was taken away from her college campus to an alien world. She does not understand what was going on fully and she has had her memory gone. She is confused not knowing what is going on. Will Beta figure out what is going on? This is a must read for everyone’s library.
