The longest married Shaw brother and his bride are having growing pains. Whirlwind romance to marriage and babies, not complaining cause there is so much love there. But Eddie is stagnating at his job, so he quits, just quits. Sienna is shocked, what no discussion ya just quit? BUT…. she is offered her dream job, she wants her chance to fly! This is real life people! Adjustments being made, hurt feelings, loneliness, while being encouraging and supportive is hard work! Each of this little part of the Shaw family learn new strengths and grow beyond the comfort zones they set them selves in. Superman and Cherry Pie will be just fine!
This book felt different than the others in the series. Looking at role reversals between Eddie and Sienna showed a pretty real representation of what that would look like for any marriage. There was a lot left unsaid that caused both to not realize how the other was feeling and processing the changes. Finally, with a little help from their friends and family, they navigated their new way of life and were able to get back on track and better than ever!
This is book four in the “Must Love” series. It can be read as a standalone.
In this book we get to meet Eddie and Sienna, a married couple. This book does an exceptional job highlighting how difficult marriage can sometimes be, especially after a long while.
I felt that this book was so relatable and relevant. It describes the highs and lows, ebbs and flows of any lengthy marriage. The transitional peroids that most relationships go through are on full display. Some of the dialogue and arguments are so profoundly spot on that I felt like I was watching my own marriage.
The whole Shaw family are funny and heartwarming in their interactions. You can’t help but love their chemistry and camaraderie. They are the family you wish you could be a part of.
Overall, this was my favorite book in this series. Ms. Neal did a wonderful job making this story feel real, authentic and genuine.
An entertaining and unique story about how to keep things moving in an established relationship. The love for their kids, and for each other, is what they are hoping will keep them together. I absolutely adored Eddie, but unfortunately I wasn’t a big fan of Sienna. I guess that’s how you know the writer is good at their craft… being able to invoke emotions from you about the characters. Take a chance on this role reversal, stay at home dad, story and you won’t be disappointed.
Eddie is just over the moon for his woman, but he’s still a proud, alpha man who can get his delicate feelings hurt at times, “the increase in irritation is apparent. “Did you think we needed help? Did you think I wasn’t making enough for us? For our family? Was there **** you wanted to buy or have that you think we couldn’t afford?” The man is quite confident in the pleasure department, “I know that shit isn’t sexually related, but you can kinda see how it sounds that way, right?” I liked this book, I loved Eddie.
